Grabbing a piece of toast from the plate on the counter, he took a hefty bite, blew his husband a cheerful kiss, and then darted out the door before his bombshell registered.

As he headed downstairs, he laughed aloud at the distant roar of Zada’s name being yelled above him. He wasn’t late for work, but he was paying Aaron back, and intended to be halfway to the Savoy before they knew he’d started the whole mess. He grinned.

He really loved his family. Warts and all. Teasing them was truly one of his greatest pleasure in life…that and being married to Aaron. He’d never regretted reaching out, the ice around his heart having melted away, never to return, the day he said “I do.”

He heard his own name yelled just before he shut the front door behind him, wincing at Zada’s strident call.

He just might have to cook a special, make-up dinner tonight, though just in case Aaron hadn’t calmed down by the time he got home. Glancing up at the house as he headed across to the bus, he met Akeem’s wide grin as the teenager watched his rapid departure, winking at the boy, then left to start his day as pastry chef at the Savoy.

  THE END

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I’m a mid-forties single female who loves writing. As a child I wrote a lot of stories, before the reality of “proper” work took precedence. I began to write again a few years ago, writing short stories and romantic fiction just for fun, but never took it seriously enough to send anything off for publishing until last year. Now I’m several books into my writing career, and one more thing is ticked off my to-do list! I really love immersing myself into my literary worlds and hope you enjoy the results.

I live in the beautifully scenic northwest of England, a few miles from the Lake District, Beatrix Potter country. The sea is just a few miles away, the mountains are to the north, and England’s longest lake is half an hour’s drive.

Writing sexy fiction is great fun, bringing all my ideal men together, and certainly warms a woman up in the cold winter evenings!

Enjoy, as there’s plenty more sexy installments on the way. What can I say, I have a dirty mind! JL
