I couldn’t blame them. I wasn’t the biggest fan of my sister all the time either—our parents’ anniversary vacation, a prime example—but she was still family. She was still my sister.

“Did you want to leave?” He almost sounded excited by the prospect.

I couldn’t help myself. “Children are taught to not go places with strangers.”

“I’m not a stranger. I introduced myself. Something you’ve still failed to do.”

I rolled my eyes as I shook my head. “Fine. Callie.”

“Well, Callie. Without sounding too forward and rather as an offer to end your hostage situation, can I take you home?”

Haven’t read Trevor and Callie’s story?

  Final Words From Mignon

I can’t really tell you when I first thought Mikey was getting a story.

Maybe when he was giving Jordan hell for being a deadbeat dad in 27: Dropping the Gloves. I just knew that I liked the guy, and I wanted to see him move on from Trina.

I can tell you the moment I knew he was going to fall for his nanny—

  Right away.

Who better for this man, than the very one who stood by his side through the years?

Because this was supposed to be a Christmas offering, that was how Mikey’s jersey number came to be, and the whole ‘Angels’ thing was originally a call out to the holiday.

But one night, while driving home from a night nanny gig (oh yeah, I’m one of those too), listening to Chase Rice’s LAMBS & LIONS (Amazon affiliate) on repeat because SAVE ME was Mikey and Molly’s song…

Well, my repeat turned into a shuffle, and listening to ON TONIGHT I realized…

THAT was Mikey and Molly’s song.

After listening to this song to death, I knew what the ANGEL call-out would be—

  Trina.

It then made sense why I was having a hard time writing the book; I was waiting for my last A-ha moment.

Thank you to my early readers, Jackie and Jennifer. Thank you so much for reading and helping me clear up important points. Your insights were invaluable.

  Miss Melissa.

My sound board for this, and pretty much every, story. You listened to me (literally; voice messages on Messenger, all the way) as I tried to figure out how Mikey’s story was going to unravel. Thank you for always being in my corner.

To my editor, Jenn. You are a godsend. Honest. You know it, too, and if you don’t, let me yell it one more time. I love having you on my team.

To the mignonettes. You ladies rock. Thank you for loving my books enough to want to do your own screaming and promoting, happily reading a book before release and sharing your opinions and thoughts with your reader friends.

Finally, as always, to you, the one reading this.

This month marked my two-year publiversary. I would still be writing if it weren’t for you, but it’s because of you that I get to call me dreams, reality. THANK YOU!

[MD1]This… Hold on to this thought.

The idea is for the reader to think he’s thinking about Trina, but as things unfold about Mikey and Molly, it actually had a lot to do with her, too.
