“He's gone! Oh no, no, no....” Calista sobbed hysterically on the floor as Fro finally died in her arms.
They stood silently, in mental torture amidst the emotional scene, their eyes upon the two men they had lost.
“How's Sevi?” Nico finally broke the silence with a hoarse voice, touching Miche's shoulder as he tended to her.
“She's alright, I think. Not that I know much about these things. The bleeding has stopped. I'm so sorry about Fro and Saba, truly I am. Sevi will be so distraught over them. I can't believe Saba is gone, just like that. It's all my fault. I shouldn't have tried to get the gun from her. I thought I was doing the right thing. Oh God, will she ever forgive me for this?”
“We all need to calm down and help each other. No more blame is to be cast. I hope we can find it in our hearts to move on from this because right now I personally am having a lot of trouble with it. I need to lie down for a while. Come, my love, we need some quiet comfort on our own.” He motioned to Cali to join him.
Nico left the room and walked up the stairs. He was followed by a blood soaked Cali, still sobbing, her chest heaving in distress. Miche picked Sevi up and carried her up to the living room where he laid her on a long sofa and began to tend to her wounds with the help of another who seemed to know what he was doing. He tried not to think about the two dead vampires lying downstairs, but concentrated on doing something positive. He should be the one with a bullet wound in his arm, not her. How he wished it could be so. His heart ached with the hurt she would feel over losing Saba. He knew she still felt strongly for him. This wasn't what he wanted for her. He'd never wanted this type of end to her marriage, however convenient it might be for him.
Sevi came around slowly. She was lying in a big soft bed and her arm was killing her. She felt it with her hand as she began to recall the events preceding being shot.
“Sevi my love. How are you feeling?” Miche asked quietly from her side.
“Like shit. How's Fro?” she asked while trying to sit up slowly and carefully. She knew the moment the words were out he was dead. The sad look in Miche's eyes said it all.
“No, oh please no... Not my Fro?” She sobbed and he held her gently in his arms, rocking her from side to side.
“I'm so sorry, so very sorry,” Miche whispered in her ear. He stiffened in her arms and pushed her away from him for a moment. He took a deep breath and spoke slowly to her. “Sevi, I don't now how to tell you this, Saba, well... he was... shot too. He's gone.”
“Noooooo, noooooo...” The long pained words floated from her mouth as her mind closed down in denial.
“Come here, let me hold you.” He hugged her again, but her back was stiff and she pulled away.
“Was it her, that red headed bitch, Anna?”
“I tried to take the gun from her, to stop her from shooting anyone else. I pushed her over and she shot randomly as she fell, Saba died instantly, from a head wound.”
“You tried to stop her and he died?” she snarled at him, her fangs shooting down in anger...
“It was a terrible accident. How could I have known? I wish she'd shot me instead,” he appealed, with honesty in his eyes.
“Please go away Miche. I so need to be alone. NOW!” She turned her back on him and curled up in a ball on the bed. He quietly left as she sobbed her heart out. Her throat was burning like never before. She had lost her beloved Fro, her darling Saba, and now she couldn't bear to look at Miche for the part he'd played. The fact that it was Anna who was the cause of it all escaped her mind for the next hour. And Sevi was left to wallow in a hell all on her own.
Nico and Cali came to see her a while later and sat on either side of the bed with her. She had calmed down enough to speak to them, but anger still raged inside her.
“Can you tell Miche to leave? I don't want to see him again.”
“Don't start blaming him. He wasn't holding the fucking gun,” Cali pointed out.
“I know, but how can I have a relationship with a man who is partly responsible for the death of my husband, who I still cared deeply about, tell me? Because I just can't, can I?”
“He is going through hell because of it. You should comfort one another. Be strong and overcome it,” Nico suggested, kindly.
“Comfort each other? I don't think so! Tell him to go back to Paris, and pick up his old life.”
“As you wish. I'm sure he won't object. He feels to blame in any case,” Nico replied sadly.
“I'm leaving for New York as soon as I can. I want to get back to work, some sort of normality.”
As soon as damn well possible...
“That may be an issue,” Nico said cryptically.
“Why?”
“Miche has discovered something unpleasant going on in your absence,” he continued.
“What is that?”
“A friend of his has informed him that his manager has posted a lot of bad press about you. She has labelled you a cheat and a relationship wrecker. She has posted steamy pictures of you and Miche on modelling assignment together everywhere on the internet and has said you trashed their apartment. She posted pictures of that too. All your contracts have been revoked Sevi. You might find it hard to get work. Stay here for a while. Until things are better,” Cali explained sadly.
Sevi's anger boiled over with such a massive surge her eyes flamed with heat, her teeth shot down, and she cried out loud. “Fuck her... fuck everyone. My life may as well be over. I wish I had died with Saba.”
“No Sevi, it is not over. Your life can be restored. It needs time that is all. I will put Gabriel on the legal side of it when he reappears. This woman cannot libel and slander your good name with no repercussions,” Nico reasoned firmly.
Chapter 8
Two months later.
Sevi got in the taxicab outside Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and gave the driver the address. She sat back nervously as they made their way to her destination. There were two things she wanted to do in Paris. One was going to be hard and the other so much fun.
She got out of the cab and asked the driver to wait. Hopefully this would not take too long.
She opened the door and strode up to the desk at Parfait, to the young blonde receptionist.
“Mademoiselle Benoit, S'il vous plait. Je suis Severina.”
The receptionist's eyes widened in surprise at their famous guest and she quickly made a call. A moment later a door opened, and a tall attractive blonde vampire came out to greet her warily.
“Ms Basteri. What a pleasant surprise. What can I do for you?” she asked sarcastically.
“Here. This is a summons. You are to appear in court for libel and slander. I hope you have a good attorney Mercedes, you are going to need it.”
“I see. And how will you deny such compelling evidence?”
“I have my ways and means and the most experienced advisor in the world on it. You have no proof of any infidelity. It is simply hearsay, and rumour. The apartment photos were a big mistake Mercedes. As prior to your images being published, Miche had explained to various people how his ex-manager had trashed his apartment. A cleaning company, a locksmith, and a furniture company had all been made aware. On top of that, he sent a picture to your own receptionist here,
that very day with the words, “Mercedes handiwork” attached. I don't want to involve her unduly, but I will if necessary. Our phone records can show all these things. Add to that your rather unfair contractual hold on him, which we could pick to pieces in a court of law, and in fact already have, you are a dead duck personally. Prepare for the end of your career.”
“Now come on, this is all over the top, let's discuss this in a civilised way,” Mercedes said with a white face and a worried, furrowed brow.
“It's far too late for that. And I have one more thing to add before I go. Turn your back, please, you might find this unpleasant” she said to the receptionist who obliged quickly.
Sevi swung her fist skilfully and thumped Mercedes hard in the eye, s
taggering her. Hopefully that would turn a lovely shade of purple and black soon, Sevi thought. She then grabbed her hand and snapped her little finger with a sickening crunch. Mercedes howled and dropped to the floor in agony.
“You little bitch!”
“No one fucks with me and gets away with it. Au Revoir Ms Benoit, we shall meet in court and how I am looking forward to that!” She flounced out of the agency with a big smile on her face, and after getting back inside the waiting cab, continued with her journey.
She didn't know if he would be home, or even if he had a home anymore, as he probably had no work either. Rocco wouldn't speak to her because of how much she had upset his Pop, and she had no other means of contact. His phone had been unavailable for the past few weeks. She assumed Mercedes had removed his phone privileges, the evil witch.
Her heart ached with what she herself, had done to him. How could she have done this? She tried to console herself that she had been temporarily out of her mind with grief. It hadn't been until a few weeks ago that she had come out of her madness and started to see things clearly. She didn't know how he would take it, her turning up out of the blue. If she could find him, that was.
She got out of the taxi cab, paid, and entered the building, arriving outside his door.
She pressed the button and took a deep breath.
It opened shortly afterwards and there he was. Her heart melted on the spot. Her stomach clenched up tight and her eyes burned with love.
“Yes?” he said very coolly, recovering from his surprise with obvious difficulty.
“I'm sorry,” she choked, holding onto the door frame for support as her legs suddenly felt weak beneath her.
“So am I,” he replied, still very cool, watching her face intently.
“Can I come in?” she asked politely, venturing a tiny smile.
“As long as it's a brief visit,” he added, standing aside to let her pass. She walked inside and he closed the door behind her.
“It looks really good in here,” she said, looking around at his newly redecorated and furnished living room with approval.
“I'm sure you didn't come here to admire my apartment. What do you want?”
“How are you?”
“As good as can be expected. Considering.”
“I miss you.”
“How sad.”
“Don't you miss me?” she appealed, nervously.
“Fuck Sevi, what's this about? I've just about coped without you for the last eight weeks. Don't do this to me.” His eyes were pained and haunted as she looked into them. She took his hand and kissed it. He gasped out loud at the touch of her lips, and the underlying meaning of her embrace.
“I want you back Miche. I was mad. Literally. I didn't know what I was doing. It was grief and shock and God knows what else. I'm so sorry I hurt you. You mean everything to me. You really do.”
“I'd do anything to have you back. Anything. Have you forgiven me? For what happened to Saba?”
“Of course I have. I shouldn't have blamed you for that. It was so wrong of me. I'll never forgive myself for hurting you like that. I love you to pieces.”
“I'm sure I'd have gone a little fucked up and crazy too.”
She held her arms out to him. “Come here my love. Kiss me all day and night. Tell me you love me until you can't speak any more. I want your arms around me so much it hurts, Miche. You're mine, all mine. And I'm so, so yours.” He pulled her tightly to him and kissed her hair frantically, his breathing wild and erratic against her ear.
“Shall we go somewhere more comfortable than standing next to my front door?”
He took her hand and led her away to his bedroom.
“Don't you dare leave me again, no matter what I say in my mad moments,” she murmured, grinning from ear to ear with love and lust as he removed her jacket, nipping her neck with his fangs in the process. She kicked off her shoes and he picked her up.
“Don't you worry, I won't,” he replied, dropping them swiftly on the bed with a deep growl of desire, his eyes flashing wildly with heated yellow streaks. She sighed, in pure heaven, as he began to cover her face with a million kisses.
“I'm so glad we're both unemployed. We can stay here all week.”

About the Author
I'm a loveaholic, but not only that, I like intrigue and drama. My reading interests are spread across several genres. Romance, Paranormal, Sci fi, Fantasy, Horror and Erotica.
I read constantly, developing my craft and pushing myself to improve and to be a better writer. I love to create real people. People you may find in everyday life. But these people have secrets, hidden depths, torture, and a wealth of other hidden characteristics to their personality and in their lives. I love to create steamy passion, a heated encounter that will make you wish it were you. :) And I love to weave a spell, to captivate and entrance you with my words. To take you to another place in your life, where you can escape for a few hours with me.
I'm a mother of four, and worked for many years in a bank, monitoring trading room activities and risk control. You'll see a brief insight in my world in my novel, Hot Options. There's reality in that book! It's a New York trader erotic romance which I hope you'll love.
Many years commuting by train to London gave me ample opportunity to read many, many books and I appreciate a good story. I hope I can continue to create them for you.
In my spare (lol) time I love to watch movies, cook for my family and wander through the countryside which surrounds my home, pondering my plots and characters. I enjoy a glass of red wine, completely love chocolate and am obsessed with spicy food. My husband and I have been together for many years and have a shared love of reading. He is an inspiration. My whole family are an inspiration. There's always drama in my house, one way or another!
