He growled as her mental shields lowered, filling her mind. She looked up when she felt his demon rise. His eyes flickered in the dark room. Crimson fire licked his pupils as his body moved aggressively against hers. He removed her clothes. His smile was pure male satisfaction as the consciousness within him spoke. MINE.
Jess clung to him as he filled her mind. She saw everything. Raw. Naked. Every moment since she first walked into the Moretti mansion was focused on her. Each agony he suffered when she pulled away, leaving him with the prospect of an eternity in darkness. The exponential bliss when she was simply sitting beside him. She understood the overwhelming ecstasy he felt when he was inside her body.
She saw the conversations with Jenner. With Director knight. He had all but ordered them to sort this out with available solution that let them save face and kept her from any serious repercussions. He had gone so far as to ask she be allowed to stay with the PIA if she chose. That surprised her. She wanted to search more of his memories, finding everything about him more fascinating and comforting as the moments passed but he had removed his clothes and his lips were moving down her throat. Her body tensed in fear, anticipation, and need all at once.
His tongue traveled the valley between her breasts, taking tiny nips, flicking her skin before making his way to her erect nipple. She was on the brink of madness when he sucked hard on the taut bud, causing her pussy to spasm with such force her nails raked his shoulders. Thin scratches welled up with droplets of blood. The sting brought a deep growl of satisfaction from his demon. It liked her marking him. The scars would fade but the memory of that pain induced pleasure would remain.
His hand squeezed her other breast. He knew exactly how much pressure to apply. He held her on the brink of ecstasy as she wriggled and arched against the relentless heat of his mouth. The combination of his mind penetrating her with an unmitigated desire, his hands working magic on her body and the rough feel of his tongue had her spinning out of control. A vortex of sensation that spiraled towards the heavens looking for release. She called out his name as she orgasmed violently.
She grabbed his arms, digging her nails into his flesh. “I need you inside me.”
It was his eyes that held her immobile. Pleasure and determination mixed with a destructive retribution if anyone should take what was his and she was his. She knew that now. Whatever the consequences, this was one decision she would never regret. “Take my blood. Bond with me.”
His whole body tensed at her words. Jubilation didn’t begin to describe the look of triumph in his eyes. She felt as if she were his personal holy grail. The rarest creation, though he looked directly at her he could not believe she was real.
His growl was so low it bordered on a purr. “Not yet,” he said in a tormented voice, before moving down her body, trailing fire laced kisses in his wake. Each tiny flick of his tongue, every hot breath on her sensitized skin pushed her closer to the apex.
He moaned contently as his tongue slipped between the curls at her pussy. Deep strokes penetrated her inner walls, pulling the cream from her like it was the sweetest taste he had ever known.
Jess tried to focus on her surroundings but it was of no use. He drove her higher and higher with his implacable resolve to draw more of the sweet honey from her body. “Dante please.” She couldn’t take anymore she needed him to fill her.
He lifted his head. His face was smeared with the evidence of her desire. She couldn’t think through the sensation humming through her. He pushed her legs further apart, opening her up to him. The cool breeze did nothing to fan the mounting flames.
He kissed her as he settled his taut body on top of hers. The taste of her on his lips intensified the exquisite sensations racking her.
She felt the full head of his erection nudging her entrance. She attempted to impale herself on the thick spike but he seemed determined to keep her on the edge of the summit, not allowing her to fall to oblivion. “Dante,” she begged.
Dante owned her body as he held her soul. “Jessica, say you are mine. For now, and for all time.”
Jess looked into his eyes. His soul, knowing anything less than a total commitment would crush him. “I’m yours and I always will be.”
He surged through the soft flesh of her pussy, stretching the tender tissue with his steel shaft in one brisk thrust. He held himself there, seeming to wallow in the glorious sensation of her tight channel, constricting him. He moved slowly at first, pulling back over her sensitive bud before plunging deeper into her slick depths. Each stroke harder and faster, bringing her closer to the firestorm she craved.
He pumped into her relentlessly as she held his forearms. To stop from spiraling out of control. To ensure that she did. She was on the brink of madness and no longer cared. Her body belonged to Dante, and he was making sure she knew it.
She felt the change in his essence. His soul. His demon’s anticipation mixed with that of the man. Both focused on one thing. Her total surrender. She realized what he needed. She bit his neck.
He roared as his fangs pierced hers. His body seemed to thicken. Elation bloomed from his soul. The sensations were too much. She came gasping for air as Dante took thick pulls at her throat while penetrating her harder. He was everywhere.
She had a vision of darkness giving way to the light as her mind began to shut down. No longer able to process the abundance of emotion and sensation. Dante growled her name as he came hard, coating her inner walls with his hot seed.
They lay there for minutes clinging to the beauty of the moment. Trapped in a sea on contentment. Sweat ran between her breasts and coated her brow yet she felt beautiful. Sated. Loved. She felt Dante’s mind reach for another. He pulled away from her mind to communicate with Jordane.
She allowed the men to speak. Not wanting to intrude on their privacy.
She had a shiver of concern when Dante frowned and reluctantly pulled from her body. “Is everything all right?”
“No, the Ladon attempted an incursion. They seemed quite displeased when they ran into eight warriors.”
Jess swallowed. “Why come here? Are Jordane and the other men okay?”
“The warriors suffered minor injuries that have already healed. The Ladon lost two men. They have been brought into the shelter so we can examine them.”
Jessica’s mind whirled. “Were they after Valen and Laura?”
“No, they were at the mansion overseeing its reconstruction. The Ladon did not infiltrate the shelter. They were attempting to get to the house. Us. Jordane has no idea how they knew we were here and not at PIA headquarters.”
Jessica felt sick. How could she have forgotten? “The tracker. I have one in my wrist. With everything that happened it slipped my mind. I’m so sorry. I didn’t...”
Dante touched her cheek. “Jessica, I have been in your thoughts. I know there was no intention to deceive me. Show me where the tracker is.”
Jess flipped her wrist over exposing a tiny scar. “It’s under there.”
Dante nodded and held her arm. “I need you to take my blood. I can help you if you require...”
Jess shook her head. “We’re in this together. I’ll learn to do it on my own.”
Dante smiled. “You say that like it will be unpleasant but I assure you it is not.”
“I love you Dante but I’m not a demon. I don’t drink blood.”
Dante’s smiled slyly. “A small part of you is a demon and you will not only drink it you will be exceptionally aroused when you do.”
Jess huffed. “Overconfident much.”
He kissed her. “Yes.”
Jess knew he was trying to distract her. Make her smile. Something was bothering him and it wasn’t her taking his blood. She could feel his demon’s elation when she agreed to do it herself. She touched his cheek. “I trust you. Whatever it is, do it.”
Dante nodded he lengthened a nail into a long-curved claw and cut a deep line in his chest.
She placed her lips on the wound, expecting to be
repulsed by the taste of warm blood. She was wrong. The crimson elixir coated her tongue as if it were a fine wine. A drug that only he could provide. In seconds she was making short suckling sounds as Dante’s body tensed under her mouth.
“Enough!” he growled.
She pulled back her head to see red flames in his eyes. He was aroused and angry. “What is it?” she asked her body vibrating with excitement.
“I am sorry my love,” he said as his claw slashed her wrist.
Chapter 12
Jess woke feeling refreshed and strong. Her body seemed to hum with all her senses more acute. Her first long breath held a deep masculine musk. She opened her eyes to Dante’s fiery gaze. “Did I fall asleep?”
“My blood is... powerful. Between that and the bonding your mind needed to recede for a short respite.”
The events replayed in her mind. She brought her wrist to her face but there was nothing but perfect skin. “How long was I out?”
“Only an hour.”
Jess blinked. “I feel like I was asleep for hours. I can’t remember being this well rested.”
Dante huffed. “You were not getting enough for your human body. You won’t require as much now that you will take my blood regularly.”
Jess blushed. “About that...”
Dante touched her cheek. “I have never seen you react this way. Why does the taking of my blood embarrass you?” he said concerned.
“I didn’t expect to... like it so much,” she confessed.
Dante smiled. “I would not have you do something you found distasteful.”
“I can understand why the Ladon are after you. That stuff is powerful.”
Dante nodded. “Yes, they would have me chained and use me at their convenience. I would be nothing more to them than the women they cage,” he said furiously.
“No, it’s worse for them Dante. They wouldn’t force themselves on you.”
Dante sighed. “I suppose you are right but it would be a violation none the less.”
Jess touched his perfect features, marveling at his masculine beauty. “We will find them Dante; we won’t stop until every single female is reclaimed and given the life they deserve.”
Dante smiled sadly. “How can they have that life now? They have been kept in captivity for hundreds of years. Their men are long gone from the world.”
“Charisse said the ones that escaped found human husbands. They had children...”
“They did not bond with them Jessica. They did not choose a life with those men. I can’t fathom the sacrifice they made.”
“Then we do what we can for them. Maybe they didn’t meet a man that their demon could accept for eternity. Maybe they accepted what those men could do for them. Give them a child they could love.”
“They left their children. What woman could do that?”
“One who had her children’s best interest at heart. The children were human. You are focused on the men the women had to leave but I guarantee you the children they watched age and die was much worse.”
“You don’t think they left them.”
“I know they didn’t. They let their children believe they had passed on. Then they followed them for the rest of their lives, helping from afar when needed, never revealing the truth.”
“That’s...”
“Excruciating. Watching their child’s first love. First heartbreak. Marriage. Sickness and finally death. All from a distance.”
Jess heard Dante’s demon scream. NO!
Jess startled. “Was that...”
“My demon is distressed. Our women are to be revered. Protected and we allowed them to be taken without our knowledge. Used like cattle. We forced others to flee and go into the human world. They should have come to us.”
“Dante, fighting, being a demon for all its strengths couldn’t help your race. The only thing that could save you was the fact that they were women. Ones that could have children. Though the babies were human, I know they loved them. They found their light. Their will to live in the eyes of their children.”
Dante closed his eyes. “You are killing me. Your compassion for women you have never and will probably not meet is overwhelming.”
“The point is, I will meet some of them and I won’t stop until I find them.”
Dante opened his eyes. “You plan to stay with the PIA, don’t you?”
“If they let me, yes. I’ll use all available resources to track every one of those women down.”
Dante put his forehead to hers. “I have thanked god for you yet I do not believe that is enough. There is no reparation that could equal the gift I have been given.”
Jess smiled. “I feel the same way. You give me everything.”
Dante kissed her. It wasn’t the desperate, clawing need that had consumed them earlier. It was a sweet tenderness. The softest caress like butterfly wings weaving in the wind. Every gentle stroke of his tongue worshiping her mouth.
She pulled him closer, needing the pressure of his hard chest against the sensitive skin of her breasts. Savoring the feel of his rough hands as they slid down her back to cup her ass, grinding her mound into his growing erection.
He made love to her like that for hours. Reverently exploring every crevasse of her body, seeming to map each location that caused her to gasp in pleasure, pushing her higher and higher with his unrelentingly slow pace.
She was begging, pleading, when he thrust into her, making her come.
He continued to take his time, when he came, she fell asleep with him locked inside her.
Jess woke with a throbbing in her gums. She moaned, rolling over onto her stomach. It felt like a toothache yet she had always been meticulous about brushing her teeth.
Dante rolled to his side putting his hand on her back. “Are you all right? I sense you are in pain.”
Jess touched her cheek. “My face hurts. I feel like I have a toothache but I haven’t had a cavity since I was a child.”
Dante pulled her to him. “May I take a look?”
Jess allowed him to pull up her lips, inspecting her gums. His eyes flamed red as his body hardened.
Jess pulled back. “Why did you just go full horn demon on me?”
Dante smiled. She could feel his amusement at her choice of words and his jubilation. “I am... quite taken with your fangs.”
Jessica’s eyes bulged. “Fangs!” She pushed her fingers against her pointed incisors. She felt them lengthen at her touch. “How the...” She squinted at Dante. “You aren’t surprised. You knew this would happen, didn’t you?” she accused.
Dante shrugged. “There were no guarantees you would evolve as Laura did... but I admit I was hopeful.”
Jess scanned his taut body. She could sense when his demon was close to the surface as it was now, bristling with anticipation. “You want me to bite you. Don’t you?”
Dante laughed. It was a full-bodied sound that held the undertone of the animal within. “I admit I have never been this... excited for something in all my years.”
Jess ran her tongue over her lengthy teeth. “How do you kiss with these?”
Dante’s eyes flickered. “I assure you it will be my pleasure to teach you all the interesting things you can do with your fangs.”
Jess laughed. “How many of those things is totally perverted?”
Dante pulled her to him with a wicked smile. “Most of them I hope.”
“You are a very bad demon,” she said unable to contain her excitement or happiness.
Dante touched her forehead with his. “I was planning on showing you how good I could be.”
Anticipation skittered down her spine. She put her lips tentatively to Dante’s kissing him slowly as she became accustomed to her fangs. He didn’t rush her but it wasn’t long before her body heated and her core tightened with anticipation. A new hunger was forming.
She could hear his blood pump through his veins. Smell the sweet scent that called to her. She pulled back abruptly, afraid of the implications
. “Will I get like this whenever I’m hungry? I mean for blood...”
Dante ran a finger over her cheek. “You will only crave my blood Jessica. You still eat as a human. Remember how much Laura likes her chocolate.”
“I forgot about that. How come I am so... eager to bite you then?”
Dante eyes flamed with mischief. “You can not comprehend how much that excites me but to answer your question. We are bonded. You will merely seek blood nourishment from me when it is required.”
Jess swallowed. “Don’t take this the wrong but why is it needed. I mean I eat human food. Doesn’t that give my body what it needs?”
“My blood makes you immortal.”
Jess let out a long breath. “I forgot about that too. Darnell thought Draven would make him immortal.”
Dante shook his head. “At full strength my blood can heal any living thing but it can only make my bride immortal. Draven did not posses the power of immortality. He lied to get your brother’s compliance.”
“Yeah.”
“I feel your empathy for your brother. He does not warrant it. He did not deserve you or that sweet child he was blessed with. I will spend the rest of my days proving to you what a miracle you are.”
Something inside her broke. Maybe it was that long lost hope that she would find total acceptance. She wasn’t sure. All she could do was reach for the one person who was her future. She slammed her lips against Dante’s.
The fear of what she had become dissipated as her desire for the man she would spend eternity with mounted. She clutched and grabbed at his body to bring him closer to her. He was in her mind. His desperation heightened by hers.
He flipped her on her back and drove into her with such force she screamed out in ecstasy. Her fangs thickened. Jess didn’t wait. She bit into Dante’s neck, moaning as the dark liquid hit her tongue.
She never expected the exotic taste to infuse her mind and saturate her body but the euphoric feeling that spread through her bloodstream heightened all her senses including the desperate need for the man that captured her soul and ravaged her body. Each hard thrust pushed her further and further over the threshold.
