by Bernard, Lynnette

His right hand continued its journey to the juncture of her legs. He covered her mound with his hand, claiming possession, and slowly pressed his thumb inside of her. He felt the heat and the wetness that awaited him. Lexi’s moan brought his attention back to her face. He was enraptured by the beauty of her need for him. He could wait no longer. He looked down at her. His life mate. His queen.

  Mine .

The declaration was powerful within his mind. He took a deep breath, breathing in the perfume of her arousal. He reached out and gently traced a path up her thigh to the dark curls that glistened with her need for him. He placed his hands on her swollen folds and spread them gently, gasping at the glistening wetness that dripped from her. Her swollen button still throbbed from her release.

Gently, very gently, he circled the sensitive bundle of nerves slowly, careful to be light in his touch. He knew she needed time to calm down. He watched her as she fought for her breath. Waiting for her to come back to herself, he felt the beauty in this woman filling his heart. When she opened her eyes and looked up at him, he saw the total acceptance, desire, and love that looked back at him. It rocked him to his very core.

“I need to be deep inside you, Lexi,” he whispered, unable to hold back any longer.

Lexi reached up and threaded her fingers through the silkiness of his dark blond hair. “I need you to be deep inside of me, Sebastian,” she whispered back, drawing his head down to gently kiss his lips.

Sebastian’s forearms were braced on either side of her shoulders as his hands held her head, gently caressing her temples with the pads of his thumbs as he kissed her briefly. He eased toward her ear and whispered words of love that could only be spoken to her—his wife.

“Help guide me into your body, my love,” he told her as he pushed his hips against her heat.

Lexi reached between them with her left hand and carefully gripped his hard shaft. She guided it to her core, placing the head exactly where he was meant to be. A moan escaped her as he gently pushed into her in small increments, pulling out and pressing deeper over and over again.

She gasped with pleasure as she felt the hardness of him seated deeply within her. Her hands explored the place where they were joined, and she knew the rightness of the joining.

“It’s amazing,” she whispered, still touching his hardness and her softness in the place where they were one.

“What is amazing, my love?” he asked, smiling down at her and stilling all movement.

“I can’t believe that you fit inside me,” she whispered, pulling her hand from between them and reaching around with both hands to grab the tight muscles of his backside to pull him even closer to her.

Sebastian smiled and scooted his thighs under her legs to lift her hips slightly and pushed into her sweet body a little deeper, drawing a groan from both of them. He pulled out slightly and pushed into her slowly, loving the way her eyes nearly rolled back in her head at the pleasure that it gave her.

“Your body was made for mine, my love,” he whispered as he began to move out of her with a long, slow pull.

He smiled at Lexi’s groan of protest as she locked her legs around the back of his thighs to hold him close to her. He pushed back into her body slowly, grunting softly at the pure joy of being so deep within her.

“Lexi, look at me,” he whispered, remaining still until she opened her eyes and looked up at him. “I want you to watch me as I make love to you.” His eyes burned with need, flashing golden and violet as he looked down at her. “I want you to see how much joy you give me and how much love I hold for you within my heart.”

Lexi gazed into his eyes, seeing the look of possessiveness and love that he had for her. As he moved within her, she never once looked away. She couldn’t. His eyes held hers with such intensity, she knew her life would never be the same. She knew she was lost to him. She would fight beside him, care for him, and love him. It was a promise she made to herself and to him.

In that moment, she knew one very important thing. Sebastian was her home. Wherever she lived, wherever she went, he would be the one who grounded her and gave her the sense of family and love that would be hers for the rest of her life. She knew the complete and utter joy of belonging and loving because of him. She would never take the gift of his love for granted.

Sebastian saw the honest feelings in Lexi’s eyes. He felt the surrender to his love. Lexi was his. She knew it, and he knew it.

With this moment of their connection came a need to claim and to join. He rocked into her again and again, his motions becoming harder and more determined with each thrust. Pleasure spiked within him as she tilted her hips and met each of his thrusts with thrusts of her own.

“Sebastian,” she called out as her release crested and exploded within her.

“My love,” he whispered, pounding into her one last time before stilling and releasing spurt after spurt of his seed deep within her body. He roared her name as the warmth of his essence rushed from him.

His name escaped Lexi’s lips in a whimper as her body clamped down around his shaft, drawing every last drop of seed from his body. His shaft throbbed with each renewed pulse of release, sending his life’s essence deep within his woman’s womb.

Sebastian held his weight off her by sheer will. His arms were shaking and his breathing was labored as he came down from his climax. His body still shuddered with spasms as residual waves of his release pushed more of his seed into his love’s body.

Lexi’s hands rubbed his back soothingly as her own breathing slowly returned to normal. She gently kissed his chest as he leaned over her, sighing as he gathered her within his arms and held her tenderly.

He kissed her temple as he fought to regain his breath. Another wave of pleasure surged through him, causing another spurt of seed to be released into her womb. It happened over and over again as if the heavens were determined to have her be filled to capacity.

Lexi gasped, another surge of pleasure rippling through her as Sebastian filled her with more of his seed. He was still hard deep inside of her. It felt as if he had grown bigger within her, too. Before she could question him about it, another release of his seed filled her. Sparks of pleasure ignited within her.

All she could do was hold on for the ride.

  Chapter 30

Sebastian lifted Lexi within his arms and carried her toward the healing pool once again. She was asleep in his arms, exhausted from their night of loving.

He had known that bonded pairs experienced zengin when the time was right, but he had never expected to have it happen to them so soon. He had not had the time to prepare Lexi for it. It was wrong of him not to make certain that she knew about it. Despite the fact that he knew in his heart that he should feel guilt over not having been forthcoming in giving Lexi the information, he could not be anything but pleased that it had happened.

Stepping down the three steps into the shallow pool, he made his way over to the stone ledge and sat down slowly. He carefully submerged Lexi into the warm water and held her gently against his chest so that she sat sideways on his lap with her head resting against his shoulder and was tucked within the crook of his neck. He closed his eyes and gave himself over to the joy of this quiet time with her.

She released a soft sigh of pleasure as the warmth and healing nature of the water washed over her. Sebastian was careful to hold her so that the water covered her shoulders to keep her from becoming chilled. Her body had gone through enough already.

The fact that they had achieved zengin made Sebastian know that Lexi was fertile. His body recognized it and had acted upon it. His shaft had swollen to nearly twice its size, locking deep inside of her and releasing his seed over and over again into her waiting womb. He could not pull out, nor did he want to. Her body was ripe for their lovemaking. Only time would tell if they had been successful in creating a child. He hoped that they had. He also hoped that Lexi would feel the same way that he did about it.

  He kissed her temple tenderly,
hugging her closer and thinking about the way he had positioned her on top of him so that he would not crush her with his weight as he held her throughout the night. She had straddled his hips, kissing his neck softly as she reassured him that she was well.

He was exceedingly grateful for her understanding and patience. She did not understand why he was locked inside of her, nor did she grasp the importance of him releasing inside of her repeatedly throughout the rest of the night.

She had finally fallen asleep with him still buried deep within her. He had remained awake as his body claimed her and bathed her womb with his seed, never releasing his soothing hold on her body as he filled her.

It was just before the sun rose that his shaft finally softened and slipped from her body. The amount of seed that dripped from her gave him great satisfaction, but all he could focus on was getting her into the healing pool to ease her aches. He knew that she had to be sore. His shaft had stretched her and had remained locked inside of her for such a long time.

She stirred suddenly, her head lolling back as she opened her eyes and tried to focus. When she realized where they were and how Sebastian held her so carefully, she smiled up at him and laughed softly.

“You needed to rejuvenate yourself, didn’t you,” she teased him.

  “I do not understand.”

“I know you’re strong, Sebastian, but even the strongest man has to be tired after making love all night like you did. And you certainly made love very well.”

“Did I hurt you?” he asked her quietly, kissing her lips lightly.

Lexi laughed softly, her hand caressing his shoulder slowly. She couldn’t stop touching him.

“No,” she whispered. “It was wonderful.”

Sebastian smiled and leaned forward to nuzzle against her temple. “Yes, it was,” he agreed.

“Thank you,” she whispered against his neck. “You make me feel special.”

“You are special, my love,” he told her without hesitation. “What we did was also special.”

“It certainly was,” Lexi whispered, unable to keep from yawning. She was still so tired. Sebastian had worn her out—in a very good way.

“No, Lexi. What happened to us was a special occurrence called zengin .”

“Sounds interesting. Is it a good thing or a bad thing?” she asked him tiredly, closing her eyes and resting against his chest.

“It is a very good thing, my love. It is something that every man hopes to have happen to him. To share that experience with your life mate is truly a blessing.”

“That’s good,” Lexi whispered. “I’m tired. You can tell me about it later.”

He pulled back slightly and carefully pushed her hair from her face before resting his forehead against hers. He could sense her exhaustion, but looking at the clonar stones in the healing pool, he saw that they were not glowing blue indicating that their healing ability was being used. The stones were not glowing golden signifying the healing having been completed and the magic within a person being revitalized, either. Instead, the stones were glowing the same color as the eyes of the beautiful warrior within his arms. He did not know what that meant, but he was certain that it was a good thing. Nothing but good had come to him and the world of Altavesta with the arrival of these violet-eyed warriors.

“Sebastian,” Lexi whispered, snuggling closer to him.

“I am here, Lexi,” he told her, kissing her temple softly.

“I’m tired, but I feel good. Why am I so tired?”

“Do not think on it, wife,” he whispered, holding her closer. “All is well.”

  “Okay.”

Lexi’s voice was barely audible. His words of comfort seeped into her brain, turning off her natural tendency to be on alert. She knew he would have her back. She drifted away as sleep took her, relaxing into Sebastian’s hold as he pulled her closer.

Sebastian held her, closing his eyes and allowing his magic to surround them. He was determined to share more of his magic with Lexi. Since bonding with her, he felt the strength of his magic rapidly multiplying. He had to ensure that the magic within Lexi was just as strong.

“I am going to enjoy loving you for the rest of our lives,” he told her honestly, his eyes closed as he gave himself over to the pure contentment he was feeling. “I love you, Lexi Gallagher. You are mine. Never forget that.” He kissed her temple once again, sighing with satisfaction.

He knew that she was asleep, but he truly believed that she could hear his words. The soft sigh that escaped her told him that he was accurate in his belief.

Slipping his right hand over her body, he settled it gently upon her abdomen. Sending his magic into her body, he smiled as it lit upon the new life growing within her womb. Surprise jolted him. He had never expected to have a connection to that new life.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as the child bonded with him. He felt the goodness and the kindness of their child.

Their baby was going to be beautiful in every way—just like her mother.

  Chapter 31

Lexi stood before their small ship, reading the name that was displayed on the front of it just below the main viewport. Scorpio . Their father had wanted to name the ship after his wife, the love of his life, but Evie had pointed out that it would mess up the emergency word that would allow each of them to know that they needed to be on alert. Elizabeth , after their mother, was the word that raised the alert. They had been trained to act whenever that code word was used.

If they named their shuttle Elizabeth and had to talk to anyone about their ship, it would just serve to confuse all of them. Her father had understood their reasoning, but that didn’t prevent him from feeling disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to honor his wife by naming the ship that would carry them to safety after her. Their father had told them to talk about it together and choose an alternate name for their transport. He had wanted them to be proud of the ship that would take them to their destiny.

He had been overwhelmed with emotion when he had found out that his daughters had named the ship Scorpio . Lexi thought about how he hadn’t wanted them to honor him in that way. He hadn’t won, though. All of his daughters adored him. He was a wonderful man, a loving husband, and the best dad. His birthday was the eleventh of November, making him born under the eighth sign of the zodiac—Scorpio.

For the first time since that decision had been made, Lexi realized the irony of it. Scorpio was the eighth sign of the zodiac. There were eight Gallagher women who were destined to change the lives of the people of Altavesta according to their ancient prophecy. Was it a coincidence? Lexi didn’t think so.

It’s not a coincidence, Lexi, she heard her mother’s voice speaking within her mind. Everything is destined to be. Do not be frightened by the changes that will occur in your lives. Love will see you through the difficult times. Family will be your strength.

Lexi felt a warmth against her forehead and smiled as she accepted her mother’s words and the gentle kiss that she had just given her. Despite the fact that both of her parents had passed on, they were still very much a presence in her and her sisters’ lives. She knew for a fact that Hanna conversed with them often. It gave Lexi hope that they would be able to meet and enjoy any children that she and Sebastian would have together.

The thought of having a baby with her husband was something that no longer made her nervous or afraid. It was something that she wanted. Very much.

“Is your ship is a sturdy one, my queen?” Bryden asked as he stood beside her and waited while she activated the tech unit on her belt to open the starboard access hatch.

“It is,” Lexi answered, walking up the small ramp that deployed when the hatch opened. “It brought us here with no problem. The construction is sound. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have more than the barest of defense weapons.” She turned to face Bryden and sighed softly. “Bryden, please, call me Lexi.”

“My brother would not be pleased with that, my queen,” Bryden told her seriously as he followed
her into Scorpio . “I do not want to upset him, and I will not disrespect you by being inappropriate in the way that I speak to you.”

Lexi looked over Bryden’s shoulder to the ten warriors who waited just outside the ship. Understanding the need for diplomacy and royal etiquette, she knew she had to respect Bryden’s concerns.

She activated the hatch closure and waited until it sealed shut, putting a barrier in place between them and the ten warriors. Sebastian had insisted that the warriors accompany them on their journey to the lagoon. She knew the warriors would stand guard until she and Bryden were ready to take the journey back to the castle. She also knew that they would not question the need for privacy. She had a great deal of respect for them and was honored that they already trusted her and held her in such high regard.

Bryden stood beside the closed hatch, waiting patiently for her to explain her actions. She couldn’t help but laugh softly. He was so like Sebastian in his quiet patience. He also had the same habit of quirking his right eyebrow in question as he looked at her.

“I’ll make you a deal, Bryden,” she told him quietly.

  “My queen?”

“When you’re around the warriors, or we’re in public, you may refer to me as your queen,” she told him, doing her best not to smile at the relief displayed on his face. “When we’re among the members of our family, you will call me Lexi.” She saw that he was about to deny her. “This is not negotiable, Bryden. We’re family. Family doesn’t call each other by titles.”

“I am honored that you are part of my family, Lexi,” Bryden said quietly, bowing slightly.

  “Thanks, Bry,” she teased him.

The slow smile that came to Bryden’s face made Lexi happy. She would bet that Sebastian’s brother didn’t smile very often. Neither did their youngest brother Tristen. They were both serious men who took their responsibilities to heart. She hoped that both men would find that they had reason to be joyful now that they had discovered that Francie and Gaiya were their destined life mates.
