I inhale and all I smell is him, woods and mint. He tastes like heaven and I don’t want to stop. Our mouths are battling each other. His hands grip me harder, one grips my hair and the other wraps around my waist pulling me closer, if that’s even possible. We finally break apart and I’m gasping for breath. My lips are swollen, and my heart feels like it’s going to beat right out of my chest. “Damn, baby girl, if I didn’t have to leave right now.” He growls, and his eyes glow a brighter blue, it’s so fucking sexy. I can feel my juices running down my thighs, that’s how wet I’ve become. “I will definitely be back as soon as I can, I can smell how turned on you are. I know how bad you need release baby girl. I want you thinking of me while I’m gone, I want you to picture what I’m gonna do to you when I get back.” He runs his hand inside the blanket that I’m wrapped in, his fingers hit my nipple, that at this point is as hard as a rock and then slides down to my sex. He slowly runs his fingers between my lips. I let out a moan, gripping his arms and raising up on my toes. He wiggles his fingers just a bit and then pulls away, I let out a groan, fucking bastard! He sucks his fingers into his mouth, “Fucking delicious, just like I knew you would be.” He grabs the back of my hair again and pulls my head back so I’m looking up at him. “I will see you soon, baby girl, very soon.” He kisses me hard one more time and then runs off as someone calls his name, I’m guessing his Beta Jacob.
On shaking legs, I head over to the cabin, so I can take a shower and relax. I take a long hot shower, foregoing food since I’m not that hungry and just fall into bed. The whole house smells like Mason so it’s kinda hard to not focus on him, my dreams are filled with him. I wake up to a loud pounding on my door and open it with a pissed off look on my face. “What the fuck do you want?” I growl out, not even knowing who is on the other side. Sam laughs, “well good morning to you too, sweetheart. That’s no way to speak to your father or Alpha by the way. I brought breakfast and coffee.” I close the door behind him and follow him to the kitchen. “Well, first of all, it’s a perfectly acceptable way to answer my door at 7:00 in the morning I don’t care who the hell you are. Second of all you don’t get a good morning until I get coffee in me.” I smile at him and he laughs. “Well, by all means don’t let me keep you and your coffee apart, enjoy.” He passes me the coffee, creamer, and sugar. I shake my head at the rest of it and just drink it black. I don’t see how anyone can ruin wonderful coffee with all that extra junk.
Sam has something on his mind, but he hasn’t said anything yet. We’ve finished our coffee and breakfast and my patience has run out. “Ok out with it. What do you need to say?” I look at him with a pointed look. He smiles and shakes his head, “Well I want to start your training today.” I’m confused and don’t understand. “What training? I thought the females weren’t able to do any of that?” He nods, “Usually that is true, but you have different genes. You Cammie are an Alpha female, everything I have witnessed from the day we have met has pointed it out. So, we are going to test it. We’re going to go into the training center and see how you do.” I nod, actually excited to see what the training center looks like and what I’m going to be doing. We head out and walk to the other side of, I guess they consider it a town, I’m not really sure. We get to a warehouse and as we enter I’m impressed, it’s a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside. I look around and there’s doors that I’m guessing lead to different exercise rooms, but what has caught my attention is the army type course that is set up. I walk straight towards it and study it, I take in all the crawls, climbs, and obstacles that it entails and all I can think of is how much I want to run it. I’m no stranger to a gym, I mean I’ve been working out since I was in the 6th grade pretty much every day with Gage. He started putting me through his MMA training workouts and let me tell you, they’re not easy.
“Cammie, come here.” I hear Sam call me. I look behind me and see him standing next to a tall, blonde guy that’s built like a football player. “Cammie, this is Quinn, he’s our pack trainer. Quinn this is my daughter, Cammie.” Quinn shakes my hand, “Nice to meet you Cammie, Sam was just telling me how he wants you to take a run through the training center and see how you do. Have you done any workouts or had any type of exercise routine in the past?” I nod. “Yes. I’ve attended the gym at least five days a week since I was 11. My best friend is an MMA and street fighter. When he was in training room, I did the training program with him, so I’m well advanced in self-defense.” Quinn looks impressed, “Well that’s pretty impressive, not many girls have trained with an MMA gym. That may give you an advantage. What do you say we run through some drills?” I’m excited, I haven’t been in the gym for a while, so I have some energy to get out. “Sounds good to me. Let’s go.” We head into the actual gym first to warm up. I hit the treadmill, then some weights, then I take a round in the ring with one of the light weight guys. Quinn picks one of the smallest guys in the gym and tells him no contact, well that doesn’t work for me. I play along for about two minutes then I lay a right hook to his jaw, he looks stunned and glances at Quinn. Laughing Quinn tells him, “Well the little lady wants to play with the big boys, so let’s play.” And waves at us, I grin finally! The guy comes at me with everything he has. He lands a couple of good hits, one to my ribs, and one to my jaw, but I end up taking him out in the end. One final punch and he’s laying flat on his back out cold. “Well damn, I really didn’t see that one coming. You have one hell of a right hook Cammie. Sam may be right about you.” I remove my head gear and spit out my mouth piece. “Thanks. Now when can I tackle that course?”
MASON
It’s been almost three weeks since I had to come back home. Since I had to leave Cammie, and I am losing my fucking mind. I’ve had so much to take care of here. I haven’t had the time to make it back there to check on her, or really even call Cameron. My nights are haunted with thoughts and dreams of nothing but her, and if I don’t make it back there to her I swear I’m gonna lose my mind. Jacob, my Beta, knocks on my office door, “hey Mason, I hate to bother you, but Jenny is here to see you.” I growl low in my throat and roll my eyes. Jenny is the daughter of the Alpha from a neighbor pack, the Omron. She has been sniffing around and is determined to try and force herself on me. I made the mistake a year ago at a bar, after having way too much to drink, of hooking up with her, and now she won’t stop trying to pursue me. I rub my head, “I really don’t want to deal with her right now. She’s not going to go, away is she?” I look at Jacob with hope in my eyes even though I already know the answer. He laughs. “Sorry Mason, she’s not going anywhere yet. You’re an unmated Alpha and apparently attractive although I don’t know what they see in you when they can have me.” He shrugs and winks. I laugh. “But Mason, remember don’t piss her off too much. We don’t need to start a war yet.” He wags his finger at me and leaves to show her in.
I sigh and sit back in my chair as I wait for Jenny. I don’t even stand as she walks in the room. “Mason!” She exclaims as she walks over to me, I finally stand, and she hugs me. I’m turned off by her smell, I start thinking how she doesn’t smell like Cammie. I sit back down, making sure that there’s plenty of distance between us. “So, I heard that you were back, and I wanted to come and invite you to dinner this weekend. We really need to start getting together more.” She bites her lip and all of a sudden Cammie pops into my head and refuses to leave. It hits me then I’m heading back, now. I shake my head, “sorry Jenny, but I’m leaving again. Actually, you caught me on my way out, I have been helping Sam with an emergency that has come up with his pack. I’ve been back and forth so, I’ve had a lot on my plate.” The whole time I’m looking at her I can’t help but compare her and Cammie. Hell, I can’t help but compare every girl to Cammie. No one can compare to Cammie. Jenny has been talking and because I’ve thinking about Cammie I haven’t heard a word she said. “see you? Maybe do that since everything is so hectic? I don’t know, but I would really like to figure it out.” She smiles at me, I’m really trying to
wrap this up, so I smile back. “I will try to get in touch with you as soon as I get some free time and wrap this up with Sam. I’m so sorry Jenny but, I have to finish getting everything organized with Jacob before I head out. I will talk to you soon, ok?” She stands and walks over to hug me, “I will see you soon, Mason.” She reaches up and kisses me on the cheek.
Jacob walks in five minutes later, “well she didn’t look all that happy. I take it she didn’t get her date?” I laugh. “No. She definitely did not. I’m headed back over to Sam’s. I need to check in with them on the progress with his daughter and how she’s adjusting to pack life. I’ve finished up everything here, so you should be covered. You know how to reach me if you do need me.” Jacob smiles, “Ok, go check and see how the pack is doing. We will be just fine here and will call if there’s any problems.” I give the man a hug, besides Cameron, Jacob is one of my closest friends. I know he knows why I’m going back, he’s seen me on edge these past couple of weeks. I head home and pack a bag, I strip down and get ready to shift. It faster to get to Sam’s territory in wolf form than by car, after shifting I grab my bag in my mouth and head out. It’s time to figure out what the hell all these thoughts and feelings are with this girl.
It takes me a couple of hours, but I finally make it, I head straight towards the cabin that I usually stay in. As soon as I walk in Cammie’s scent hits me full blast, she has made herself at home and everything inside my body reacts. I walk through the house hoping to find her but she’s not here. I toss my bag into the room and hop in a quick shower then head out to find this girl. I head over to Sam’s first out of respect for the Alpha to let him know I’m here. I know he won’t care as he thinks of me as a son but still it’s a respect thing. I barely get the chance to knock when the door opens, “I was wondering when you were gonna show back up son, it’s good to see you.” He pulls me in for a hug and I hug him back, it’s really good to see him. Cameron comes up behind him smiling, “Just couldn’t stay away from me could ya? I mean I know I’m good looking and all but damn, you gotta get over this obsession bro.” I laugh and punch him in the arm, “Good to see you, too Cameron. Hey, where’s Cammie, how has she been adjusting to pack life?” Sam and Cameron look at each other and then look at me and it sends a chill up my spine, I’m not sure if it’s a good one or bad one. “Guys, what’s going on?” Sam shakes his head, “A lot has changed in just the few weeks you’ve been away Mason. It’s probably better to show you than tell you. Come with us.” My stomach drops as I follow him and Cameron across the town.
I’m not really sure why we’re heading into the training center and what that has to do with Cammie. Sam and Cameron stop right before we enter and turn towards me “Now we’re just going to watch. Don’t say a word we don’t want anyone to know we’re here yet, ok?” I look at Sam like he’s crazy before I nod. We enter quietly and stand, in the back of the gym area where the ring is, I see on of the wolves enter the ring and he’s huge. He has to weigh at least 280 lbs. of pure muscle. I mean, damn the man has no neck, for fuck’s sake. I feel really sorry for whoever is going up against him, that is until I see who enters the ring next. I almost jump out of my skin; my wolf is clawing and snarling. WHAT THE FUCK! What is Cammie doing in the ring with that guy? I look at Cameron and Sam with wide eyes, “What the fuck is going on?” I growl at them. Sam shakes his head, “Mason control yourself, she walks in there on her own. Just stand there and watch, do not interfere. I mean it.” I ball my hands into fists and bite my lip. I just pray to god I don’t kill someone.
The fight starts, and it takes everything I have not to run up there and rip the guy’s head off every time Cammie takes a hit. She doesn’t take many, she’s quick on her feet and because she’s so little that helps as well. Shockingly, the fight doesn’t last that long and she ends up knocking the guy out after five minutes. My jaw hangs open and I’m shocked. I can’t believe what I just witnessed. “How long has she been doing this?” Cameron shakes his head, “She started the day after you left, that’s when she started up in here. We’re not done yet. There’s more, come on.” We walk over to where Sam is talking to Quinn, the trainer. “Hey Mason, I didn’t know you were in town, it’s good to see you. Are you here to see the show?” Quinn asks me, I’m looking at everyone and am confused. “What show?” Sam answers. “We came across a wolf who may show some possible Alpha traits. Now we’re not completely sure, but tonight we’ll put it to the test. Quinn here has been putting the wolf through some obstacle courses and running the test and tonight’s the last one. You showed up just in time.” I’m shocked, I came here for Cammie and instead find out there may be someone here that could be challenging Sam or Cameron for Alpha? Sam turns back to Quinn and starts talking to him in a hushed voice. “Man are you kidding me? Your Alpha status could be at risk? You don’t look worried. What is wrong with you?” I’d be freaking out and pissed off. I hear bits and pieces of Sam and Quinn’s conversation “How has it been going?” Sam asks. “I won’t lie to you, I’ve had to change the course twice this week because it was to easy. I’ve added some extra shit to it this time that may throw our wolf off. This is the most extreme course that has ever been here. I would definitely say you have an Alpha.” I turn to Cameron, “They definitely think that this wolf is an Alpha, they’ve changed the course three fucking times Cameron! That doesn’t happen! How could you not tell me this!” Cameron shakes his head, “Dude I’m not worried, this wolf is not competition for me at all. Now come on the show is about to start.”
I can’t understand why he’s not worried about this. It’s huge. I mean being challenged for Alpha, and if he loses it would mean losing everything. I shake my head and wish that Cammie was here to calm me. Where is she anyway? She’s probably still cleaning up from her fight. I can’t believe she was up in that ring. But damn, she looked sexy as hell in there, it made me want her more. We head towards the front of the course. The wolf will start there and end there as well. The wolf has to make it through the course, beating all the obstacles in a certain amount of time. It’s a hard ass task to do, and it takes most months to master it. Sam said they discovered this wolf while I was gone. I mean that’s three weeks, there’s no way he did it in that amount of time. Sam gets up and makes the announcement to the crowd that has arrived to watch and as the wolf walks out. I’m put in shock once more. I feel Cameron’s hand go to my shoulder to steady me, because the wolf that walks out to the starting line is Cammie. I swallow hard and all I can think is if Cammie is an Alpha female there’s no way, she can be my mate. You can’t put an Alpha and an Alpha female together. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. My heart drops to my stomach.
CAMMIE
Sam has finished the announcement about the run of the course and the time allowed to run the course. My body is still running from the high off of the win from the fight from earlier. That was also part of this whole Alpha test thing. The past three weeks I have been in the gym and obstacle course non-stop, it beats being in the cabin doing nothing but thinking of Mason. At first that was all I could do. My dreams were filled with him. I couldn’t close my eyes without seeing him, smelling him, and imagining everything I wanted him to do to me. I was miserable and didn’t know what to do. My hands would wander all over my body wishing and pretending they were his. Eventually I would just wear myself out in the gym. When Sam saw how I was progressing and spoke to Quinn about it he decided it was time to test me. I mean they act like this is hard, this is a walk in the park. I take a look at the course and smile, Quinn has changed it, again. The past two weeks he’s changed it a couple of times when I blew through it breaking records and some shit. Well, good job Quinn, this actually looks kinda challenging, um then again maybe not. I laugh to myself.
Quinn walks over to me and I turn to him “Trying to catch me off guard with the change up?” I smile at him. He laughs, “Thought you could use a change. Sam is getting ready to blow the horn, remember you have five minutes to finish the course and have to hit ever
ything. Good luck.” With that he pats my back and heads back to his seat, I watch him walk back and that’s when I see Mason sitting with Cameron. My heart starts racing even faster. Now I have a reason to finish this even faster, so I can get to him. I get ready and as soon as Sam blows the horn I’m off. I focus on what’s in front of me and achieve what I set out to do. I have to give it to Quinn he did a good job it is a lot more difficult than the others but not hard enough. I’m almost to the end, another good push and I’ve passed the finish. I’m sweaty and out of breath but I’ve completed it now I just wait to hear my time and results.
