The Alpha's Hybrid Mate Page 3

by C Davis

“Let me at least clean your knuckles. I mean it was because of me that happened.” I clean the blood off his knuckles. I feel his fingers brush against my skin. He cups my cheek, looking into my eyes.

“I-I don't know what it is about you that draws you to me, but I want to protect you.” He whispers.

“I want to kiss you right now. Is that okay?” He brushes his lips to mine. I nod. He tastes like whiskey and pine as he breathes out. I close the space between us, and he licks my lips, begging me for entrance. I gladly grant it to him.

His hands slide under my shirt making my body feel so hot. Our wolves have taken over our bodies, as lust fills our eyes. His glowering red eyes to my yellow ones.

“Mmm, Jaxson.” I moan against his lips as he pushes me on the bed.

“Jaxson, I… we can't. You're my boss.” I try to fight him, but he just keeps kissing down my neck. He wraps my legs around his waist. He closes his eyes, and opens them up to no longer be glowing red.

“Lana, I'm sorry. I don't know what I was doing. It was a mistake.” He says backing away from me running out.

Of course, it was a mistake.

Who the hell would want a weak wolf like me?

I walk out, and step into my room letting the tears fall as I remember the pain of laying in that ditch that night. The pain of being rejected by Jaxson… the way he called it a mistake. The tears come quickly, and my cries come even faster. I’m aching on the inside.

“Lana, what's wrong?” Cole asks from the other side of the door.

“Nothing. I'm fine.” I try to say but it comes out in sobs. He steps in, and looks around the room for danger, but sees nothing.

“What did Jaxson do?” He asks. I shake my head, and he sighs, hugging me to attempt to calm me down.

“I don't know what he did, but you have to understand it's been a rough year for him. It’s been rough for all of us. Why don't you go for a run? It might calm you down.” Cole suggests.

Yes, a run might do me some good.

Maybe that's why my wolf has been so wound up lately.

Standing at the edge of the woods, I strip down and feel my bones cracking as my wolf transforms. The wind against my fur feels so good. I feel free as I run faster and faster. I don't know what Lorenzo did to me to make my wolf not be able to shift, but now I can. I feel like I can finally be myself. I know Lorenzo is still out there somewhere, but right now I don't have a care in the world. As I return to my clothes, I notice they're gone.

  Shit.

  Who else is out here?

I hide behind the tree as a voice startles me.

“Lana? I was so worried about you.” Jaxson states, holding out my clothes.

  Why did he have them?

I yanked my clothes out of his hand and glare.

“I was fine!” I snap at him, buttoning the last button on my blouse.

  “I'm sorry.” He whispers.

I ignore his failed apology and run in the house to only be stopped by him. Pulling me flush to his body, he apologizes. “Please... I'm sorry, Lana. I never meant to hurt you.”

He's now got me pinned to the wall facing him as he attempts to beg forgiveness.

“It's fine, now let me go. I'm tired and going to bed.” I push his body off mine and run back up to my room.

The next morning, he tries to get my attention, but I ignore him as I feed his son. I'm only here to care for his son in exchange for his protection against Lorenzo. Nothing more. My wolf has been whining for me to look at him, but I'm ignoring her too. I can’t look at him, because if I do, he'll just pull me in again. He'll hurt me again, and I can't let that happen.

Lucas has been licking his lips, and giving me lustful stares, much like all the other unmated males here. I hate it when the guys do that. It makes me feel like a piece of meat.

I can remember how Jaxson's lips felt against mine last night. He wanted me bad, and then just walked away, but I was the one who said it was wrong. He told me it was a mistake, but our wolves said otherwise.

“I-I don't know what it is about you that draws me to you, but I want to protect you.”

My face heats up as I remember the events of last night. I look up to Jaxson, and he smirks at me. He knows what I was thinking about. All the males in the room have this same glint in their eyes… lust and need. They can smell my arousal; as I was thinking about their Alpha, and how he had his hands all over me last night.

  “Everyone leave, now!” He orders.

I gulp as he steps toward me like he is about to take down his prey.

“Tell me, my sweet Lana, what were you thinking about?” Jaxson kisses down my neck, making my body come alive, and moan out loud.

  “Nothing.” I moan out.

“So when I do this it's nothing?” His fingers trail up my thigh under my dress, inching closer to my panties.

“No.” I stutter out nervously as he trails kisses down my neck. His wolf has taken over once again as his eyes glow red.

“Jax, have you s...” Cole asks and freezes when he sees he's interrupted his Alpha once again. Jaxson never stops attacking my neck as Cole watches the scene unfold.

“My sweet Lana, it wasn't nothing.” He says, leaving me feeling completely breathless.

Cole lingers for a second and smirks my way. “Seems he's laid his claim on you.”

  Claim on me?

  No, definitely not.

I sigh as I clean up the mess when Natalia sniffs the air as she walks into the room. “Now, why do you smell like my brother?”

I knew she'd be asking about that. Her brother has touched me more in two days than any man ever has in that way.

“He was just talking to me.” I muttered.

Natalia eyes me curiously as I tell her about how Jaxson has been acting.

  “Oh my, he wants you!”

“No! He told me it was a mistake.” I quickly protest. Her eyes light up, and I can tell by her face she's up to no good.

“If it was a mistake; he won't mind if you wear revealing clothes, and go to the club with me.”

I shake my head while she grabs my hand, dragging me to her room.

“Natalia, this dress covers nothing on me,” I say attempting to pull on the dress, trying to cover up.

“That's the point.” She smiles in satisfaction, looking me over. For some reason she wants her brother to see me in this poor excuse for a dress.

“Natalia, this is a bad idea. I'm an unmated wolf and if I go downstairs the guys will go wild. It’ll be a bloodbath.” She pulls me downstairs to her brother's office and walks in unannounced.

“Where are you two going dressed like that?” Jaxson hisses, his chest heaving rapidly.

“We are going to a club. Don't you like her dress, Jax?” She says innocently, then smiles and winks at him.

“Like hell she's going to the club dressed like that! And neither are you.” His muscles tense up, and he closes his eyes, trying to calm himself down. The rest of the men lick their lips, looking at my body.

“Get out of here before his wolf takes over!” Cole screams out to us as he tries to hold him back.

  CHAPTER 5

  Jaxson

The rogues have gotten worse in the past week, and Lana isn't helping the situation by prancing around in those damned skirts all the time. She's an unmated wolf, and all these unmated males in this house aren't helping either. I see how they look at her, licking their lips. I hear of all the things they want to do with her.

My wolf has been on the edge, and begging me to let him take complete control over me. I can't let him out. It's taking all the self-control I've got to keep him contained, and now my sister wants to barge in here with Lana dressed like that.

“Where are you two going dressed like that?” I hiss out in ragged breaths, gripping my desk so hard it feels like it would break. My sister flashes an innocent smile I know all too well, and winks at me.

“We are going to a club. Don't you like her dress, Jax?”
>
  Fuck yes!

I love that dress, but not for anyone else’s eyes but mine.

  My dick loves it too.

I can feel my wolf clawing at my insides. Cole begins to notice, a panic in his expression.

“Like hell, she's going to the club dressed like that! And neither are you.” My muscles tense and my wolf threatens to shift. I close my eyes attempting to calm myself down. As I open my eyes, I look at the other unmated men in my office as they lick their lips looking up and down her body taking in all her curves. My beast is out and I feel him take over just as Cole grabs me, pulling me back.

“Get out of here before his wolf takes over!” He screams at the two women, while he holds me back. They scramble out screaming in fear, and I hear Cole's voice in my head.

“Hey! Calm down!” He pleads with me. My claws come out, and I hear Cole screaming at the other men.

“Get the hell out of here before he kills all of you!” There's no stopping me now. My wolf has complete control. I bring my head forward, and thrust my head back onto his forehead, making him scream out in pain.

Cole growls, “Shit! You need to calm down, or you're going to scare the hell out of Lana and your sister.”

My wolf begins to whimper and slowly calm at the mention of Lana.

  You can do this, Jaxson.

  Deep breaths.

  In and out.

  In and out.

Closing my eyes, I feel my breathing slow down, and slump down to the floor out of breath.

“Jax, what the hell was that about?” Cole asks me as he hands me a bottle of whiskey.

“I-I don’t know what happened. All I saw was her in that dress, and then saw nothing but red.”

He smirks at me as he straightens the papers on the desk, trying to clean up my mess. “Jax, I think you have found your mate…our Luna.”

  No, it can't be true.

  I would know, right?

“You're so full of it.” I scoff as he walks out the door.

Lorenzo has been hiding behind all his dirty rogues, and has yet to make an appearance. There's no way I can let him get his hands on her after finding out he's after her for the witch powers she never tapped into. He will never have her again. Not after what he did to her.

Lana has been avoiding me for the remainder of the day, and I don't blame her one bit. I never wanted her to see that side of me. She's been through enough already.

“I-I thought you might be hungry.” Lana stutters, setting down a plate. I look up to her, and I can smell the fear of her body.

“Lana, I want to apologize for my behavior from earlier,” I say, standing up and taking cautious advances toward her. I want to kiss her so bad right now, but I don't want to scare her any more than I already have.

Taking a strand of her hair, I bring it up to my nose and inhale her scent.

“W-what are you doing, Jaxson?” She backs away in fear and looks down at her shoes, but I force her to look at me.

“I’m... I don't know.” I let my fingers linger under her chin, making her yank her body away from mine.

“I have to go check on your son, you know, the reason I'm here in the first place.” She walks away, and Cole is standing in the door when she walks out. He's sporting his well-known smirk when he knows I've lost at something.

“What is that for you? Strike two or three?”

I hate him so much right now.

My wolf taunts me. “No, you hate it when he's right.”

“Has the rogue said anything else I should know about?”

He smirks again crossing his arms over his chest. “Do you mean about Lorenzo, or has he said anything about that sexy woman you keep pining over?”

  Damn you, Cole.

He’s right though. I want to know if he said anything about her. “Well, let’s go pay him a visit then.”

The dirty rogue’s head hangs down with his arms chained above his head. His body is covered in blood, painted with cuts and bruises.

  Pathetic.

  Disgusting.

  Worthless.

Those are the words that come to mind when I look at him.

“Hey, good morning. Have a nice nap?” I say, dumping the ice-cold bucket of water over his head, he gasps.

“Screw you!” He screams, thrashing against the chains.

“Now. I'm going to ask you again. Where the hell is he?”

“I told you I don't know!” He screams in pain from the knife digging in his cheek.

“Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Such a bad liar. Do you know what happens to those who lie to me?”

He shakes his head in fear and thrashes against the chains.

“Please... let me go and I'll take you to him.” He begs me, unaware he just admitted he lied.

“I thought you didn't know where he was?” He pales and gulps, knowing I just caught him lying.

“Just, please don't kill me.” He begs more bringing fuel to the fire burning inside my soul.

“Don't you worry, I'll take care of you,” I say with a sinister smile, letting my canines and claws out with my eyes glowing red. His whole body is shaking, knowing he's about to die. I reach up to his chest and dig my claws in his flesh and rip his heart from his body.

“Have someone drop his body over the border. The rogues will find it and report back to Lorenzo.” I say, dropping his heart on the cold concrete.

“Do you feel better now?” Cole asks, looking somewhat concerned.

  Do I?

  No, not really.

“For now.” I lie, cleaning the blood off my hands. Until I see her, and I lose control again.

The sight I see when I enter my room takes my breath away. Her on my bed with Gabriel clinging to her body. Such a beautiful sight to see. Her lips are parted, slightly making a heat start to stir in my body. I cover them up and lay next to them, stroking her cheek. She whimpers in her sleep as I place a kiss to her head, and one to Gabriel.

She whispers, “Please... I'll be good... I promise.”

My body freezes, and I realize there is still so much I don't know about her. About what he did to her. It's clear he hit her, but did he force her sexually? So many questions I still need answers to, and there are only two people that will know anything about it. Lana and Natalia. I need to talk to Natalia before Lana wakes up.

Reaching my sister's room, I hear a males voice on the other side of her door. “Natalia, baby. Not so hard!”

  I know that fucking voice.

How could he… and with my sister?

I linger a bit longer; afraid of what sight I might see on the other side. I walk away not wanting to hear any more of that. You know what screw it! I turn back around and bust down the door, and my sister is giving my Beta, Cole, a back massage.

“Natalia, I need to talk to you alone. Cole I'm going to talk to you later. Wait in my office.” Cole looks up at me in guilt and leaves me with Natalia.

“First, what the hell is Cole doing in your room? Second, I need to know if Lorenzo abused Lana sexually.”

Her face tells me all I need to know about the bastard.

“Relax brother, Cole just needed me to work out some kinks in his neck. Now about Lana’s ex, I can't tell you that. It’s not my story to tell.”

Realization sets in when she tells me the last part.

  He touched her.

  Hurt her.

I see Cole waiting in my office just like I commanded, and he looks up with a clenched jaw. “What the hell is going on between you and my sister?”

He looks so defeated. Bowing his head down, he croaks out. “Jax... I don't know what to tell you. She's... she’s my…”

I cut him off before he can get another word in. “You’re her mate?”

Just when I thought I couldn't take any more bad news, he piled this on me. I think back to what my sister told me. She said she was only working out some kinks of his neck.

  “She doesn't know.” He whispered.

He shakes his head confirming he
is truly her mate. My sister, and my beta are mates. My best friend is her mate.

“How did you know? How long have you known?”

He leans his head on the wall, “For a week, and that scent of honey and flowers. It was like I was in a trance, and I just kept getting pulled to her. It’s a feeling you can’t fight.”

I nod, and motion for him to leave. “Go to her then. It's up to you when you decide to tell her, but don't wait too long. You know how her temper is.”

I think back to how angry I get when someone gets close to Lana, or touches her. I get furious, and possessive. I've felt a pull to Lana ever since that night Natalia moved her in.

Could it be possible that she's my mate?

Was that what my father was trying to tell me that night?

I need answers, but that will wait until tomorrow. I need to go to bed and let all this soak in. I walk back into my room, and Lana is still cuddled up with Gabriel. I kiss my son on the head and lie next to them, falling into slumber with my head still full of questions. Tomorrow I'll get some answers.

I find myself wrapping my arm around her waist without even knowing it. I just hope she doesn't freak out too bad in the morning. The only thing I dreamt about was the woman I have wrapped in my arms.

  CHAPTER 6

  Lana

A small hand on my face wakes me up, and when I open my eyes, I see Gabriel smiling at me brightly. I try to sit up, but a force is preventing me from doing so. Panic fills my body when I try to get up, and his grip tightens.

The events from last night come rushing back to me. Jaxson was so angry last night; all because I let his sister sucker me into that plan of hers. The way all the men were staring, and then, Jaxson grew angry for some reason. His beast desperately wanted to take over completely, but why? I'm just here to take care of his son. I try to wiggle my way out of his hold, but then I freeze when I feel something poking in my ass.

“Quit it! You don't want to tempt my wolf.” He hisses, holding me in place.

I don't know why, but a surge of excitement runs through my body at the thought of tempting his wolf.

“I have to get up and take care of Gabriel, you know the reason I'm living here,” I say trying to get up, but he tightens his grip. He twists my hair in his hand and yanks my head back to face him. His eyes are shut, and when he opens them he growls out with them glowing blood red.
