The Sleeper 1: Any Witch Way Café Page 3

by Nia K. Foxx

  “Little witch, you must stop.”

Her voice was throaty with arousal and excitement. “Why?” If it were up to her, she’d masturbate him until he coated them both with his seed.

“Oh no.” He grabbed her wrist as she began another vigorous rhythm. “I want to be buried deep within you when I spill my seed.”

She loved the primal image she conjured up, of him coming inside of her. “Too much talking.” She released his cock reluctantly. She had to have him now.

“I want that too, little witch, but you’re not nearly ready.”

“No?” It was her turn to grab hold of his wrist. She spread her legs, guiding his hand to her sopping cunt. Her legs buckled when his thumb slipped between her folds to find her distended clit. He rubbed her in firm circular motions while slipping one finger into her steaming core.

“Oh my, oh my,” she groaned over and over, grinding herself against his busy fingers. Another joined in on the teasing, stretching her even further. In and out, while his thumb increased its motion on her clit.

“No, not yet,” she begged even as her body drew closer, her walls starting a sporadic contraction around his fingers. Her hips seemed to have a mind of their own.

“Now, you are ready,” he said, removing his fingers from her, causing her to cry out at the abandonment.

“Hold on,” he instructed, hoisting her off the ground with strong hands underneath her ass cheeks. Instinctively her hands clasped around his neck. Her mouth sought his out hungrily as he lowered her over his hard cock. He eased the tip between her drenched nether lips, taking his time, lowering her over his fullness. Christine wasn’t in the mood for tenderness and demonstrated her urgency by pumping her way over all that he’d given her thus far, each downward thrust impaling her more. Falcon’s fingers bit roughly into her ass, like he wanted to maintain some control over her movements.

“For the love of Creation, little witch,” he exclaimed, tearing his mouth away from hers, “I’m trying to be gentle.”

  “Later. Fuck me now.”

He growled a low feral sound in her ear but relaxed his hold only slightly, allowing her to take more of him. She rode him in a fashion similar to her earlier masturbation, slow and steady at first, then hurried and wild, undulating on his cock until he broke out in a light sheen that made his golden pallor sparkle.

Nails bit into his tight, muscled shoulders as she worked herself over him, her own body building up perspiration at the exertion. Or was it from the friction of their joining? Hell, she didn’t know or care. His cock stretched her sheath to its limits, and she loved every inch of him. Christine would have ridden him all night, if not for the tightening in her belly and the gentle pulsations in her pussy increasing with every second. She ground herself against him furiously now, reaching for the climax only seconds away.

“Oh yes,” she moaned repeatedly as her orgasm washed through her.

Falcon buried his face in the side of her neck as his body convulsed through his own climax. She could tell he held back what promised to be a very loud exclamation as his orgasm took complete hold, coursing from his body. His fingers dug into her ass none too gently, and she was certain there would probably be soreness there in the morning. She’d gladly trade a sore bum for repeated climaxes like that any day.

Talk about afterglow, Christine thought, nestling into her pillow while Falcon stroked the side of her face.

Christine broke the long silence. “That was… well, all I can say is WOW.”

  “The sentiment is definitely reciprocated.”

They both lay facing one another on her queen sized bed which, until that moment, she was certain wouldn’t be able to comfortably support his large frame. Christine ventured a look into his eyes. She bit back her gasp at the gray ones that returned her surprised look.

“I thought this would be less frightening to you,” he answered her unasked question.

Although he looked less impish sporting more human features, she didn’t want him to feel that he had to change his appearance for her. As a matter of fact, she found his unique eye coloring… well… quite sexy… in an otherworldly sort of way.

“Either is fine with me.” She shrugged.

“You are a puzzle to me, little witch.”

  “How so?”

“Well, for starters you’ve never once shown any fear of me, not even when you thought I was a spirit or a demon. You just made love to me with an abandon that I’ve never encountered.”

His admission had her grinning from ear to ear.

“You have no problem with the difference in my physical appearance. In fact, I would say you’re a bit turned on by it,” he continued.

“So far all good things. Nothing mysterious there.” She sighed, very conscious of his hand as it dropped away from her face. Fingers trailed down the side of her body until his hand rested on her hip.

  “Indeed.”

“What exactly does being a Sleeper entail? I mean, from the name I would assume that you spend most of your time asleep. Are you nocturnal?”

Christine caught what she thought was the makings of a smirk.

“No, we’re not nocturnal. In fact, once awakened we require very little recuperative sleep.”

“Why do I get the feeling there’s something more to this than you’re telling? What does being awakened mean for you?”

“It usually means that I have a job to do,” he answered vaguely. “My kind will typically sleep for hundreds of years before rousing from our stasis.”

She studied his eyes for several moments, but was only met with his very serious, unwavering gaze. “So you’re only here for a short time then, until your job is complete?” Of course, it would be just her luck to meet a thoughtful, sexy, fantastic lover who would only be around temporarily. “How long does a job usually last for you?”

  “A day, maybe two.”

“Oh, and you’ve already been here several months. This must be the mother of all assignments.”

  “You could say that.”

It was obvious there was something he was keeping from her, something he either couldn’t or wouldn’t discuss. It was silly, she knew, but the thought of him withholding a part of himself was disconcerting to say the least.

“So you’re not sure when you’ll be going back into… um… stasis?”

  “No.”

Alrighty then. Apparently that brick wall wasn’t going to crack easily. “How long were you in stasis the last time?”

He paused, and for a moment she thought he wouldn’t respond. “Close to twelve hundred years.”

Her eyes rounded in astonishment. “Did you say twelve hundred?”

He nodded before beginning a slow massage of her ass.

“Exactly how old are you?” she asked, trying to mentally prepare herself for his answer.

“I will reach my ten thousandth year at my next creation date.”

Okay, so she wasn’t quite ready for that answer. Holy crap, she’d been thoroughly made love to by a man… well, not a man exactly… but something very… primordial.

“Wow,” was all she could think to say. “I guess you have a lot of catching up to do on the modern world.”

“Not really. While in stasis we are able to absorb current events, much the same as one would download information to a computer.”

That sounded very mechanical, practical. From what she’d glimpsed so far, that seemed to be the norm for him. Are all Sleepers that way? she wondered. “I assume this helps you perform your job better?”

  “It’s a necessity, yes.”

His fingers slipped between her ample cheeks until they found her inner folds. Christine gasped at the intrusion but shifted her legs to give him more access.

“It’s been twelve hundred years since you’ve been intimate?”

“With the exception of a few minutes ago, yes.”

“So I guess there’s no need to worry about anything… ohhh.” She closed her eye
s against the very delectable feel of his finger sliding into her warm core.

It was silly of her to think of having this conversation now of all times, right after they’d just gotten very intimate and before they were about to again.

“No cause for concern. We do not suffer from the same ailments as humans,” he finished her thought.

“Good,” she croaked, wondering how she could want him again so quickly. At this rate she wouldn’t get much sleep at all.

“And I still have two days before my breeding cycle begins so there is no risk of me impregnating you.”

“Your what?” She tried to concentrate on what he said, but it was becoming increasingly more difficult with each leisurely thrust.

“Breeding cycle.” He eased the finger out of her wetness, much to her disappointment. Christine submitted to a gentle nudge on her shoulder that had her rolling onto her back. “Happens once every two thousand years.”

Crimson and white hair draped the sides of her face as he bent down for a kiss that pushed the last of the subject matter out her mind. Things with Falcon would definitely be unusual, and she was prepared to enjoy what time they had together.

  Chapter Four

She was alone, and late for work again. Today her alarm didn’t even make an effort to wake her. Christine groaned, staring at the red digital clock as it blazed eight-thirty. She should be hopping out of bed and racing downstairs to the shop but didn’t feel much like doing anything except staying in bed all morning. Perhaps my clients would forgive me for this slight indiscretion today, she thought, reluctantly pulling her sore body into a sitting position. A smile crept across her lips at the thought of all the things she and Falcon had done last night, hell that morning. They were insatiable with one another, and there was no doubt in her mind that if he were still in bed, they would be making more memories.

A scrap of paper on the abandoned pillow where he’d lain caught her eye. She bit her bottom lip in nervous excitement as she reached for the material. He didn’t strike her as the type to leave love notes.

You need your sleep. I have everything under control.

Well, it wasn’t exactly an Ode to Christine or a screaming declaration of emotions, but it was still the sweetest thing she’d received in a long while. She read between the lines, well, in this case between the words. His note showed both a concern for her personally and an understanding of how important her business was to her. She found the consideration endearing.

Spurred on by a necessity to see Falcon again and curious to see how well he was faring doing mere mortal chores, she found a burst of energy to take the quickest shower in the history of mankind. She pulled on a tie-dyed shirt and a pair of loose cotton shorts before hurrying downstairs.

Everything seemed normal enough. Mr. and Mrs. James sat at their regular table, enjoying scrambled eggs, turkey sausages and their signature black coffee, while they bantered with old man Peterson who picked at his cinnamon roll and nursed a cup of coffee. A couple of students sat in opposite corners, reading through textbooks, seemingly absorbed in their work, and yet another pair of patrons stood at the counter, apparently patiently waiting.

“Can I help you with anything?” Christine offered them.

“Thanks, but your assistant has already taken our orders.”

“Of course.” Her assistant. Christine hid her smile as she turned to walk through the double doors leading into the kitchen.

Normalcy might have been the order of the day in the dining area but there was definitely magic afoot behind those doors. Christine felt like she’d stepped into the cartoon version of Beauty and the Beast as she watched eggs mixing in a bowl on the counter. A lone spatula flipped sausage patties in a pan, and the blender churned a chocolaty concoction all without the help of Falcon who stood gazing at the photos on her refrigerator. His change in physical appearance struck her immediately; crimson hair was lightened to a strawberry blond color, but still maintained its white streaks. Even his skin had taken on a less golden color, looking more sun kissed.

“What’s happened to your sister?” he greeted without looking from the photos.

Christine tensed at Falcon’s abrupt question. “What do you mean?”

She stepped further into the kitchen, coming to stand next to him. It wasn’t the greeting she’d hoped for, not by a long shot. Yet she resisted the urge to reach out and touch him and ask to be held in his strong arms.

“There is a change in her between this photo and the other.” He pointed to a picture of Alexis taken at an impromptu family gathering over two years ago and a more recent one after the birth of their sister’s baby.

Why was he asking about Alexis?

“She was going through a difficult divorce,” she answered honestly. “Why do you ask?”

“It’s probably nothing.” He turned away from the collage of pictures on her fridge, brows furrowed. “You didn’t sleep much this morning. Perhaps you should go back upstairs.”

“I’m fine. Now tell me why you’re so interested in Alexis. Does she have something to do with your job?”

“Not as far as I can tell,” he answered, pulling her into the circle of his arms where she’d wanted to be from the moment she’d awakened. Christine saw the white hot flash in his now gray eyes just seconds before he dipped to cover her lips with his own.

The kiss was far too short.

“Our customers are waiting,” he reminded.

His use of the word our wasn’t lost on her, and she watched in silent awe as he grabbed up two bags, most likely containing the breakfast that had been cooking when she walked in.

“We need the mocha latte too,” he threw over his shoulder seconds before pushing through the doors.

Her shop was bustling, far busier than it had been since she’d opened her doors three and a half months ago, and she couldn’t help but wonder if the increased traffic had something to do with Falcon. It seemed like every time she wanted to question him further, a new customer came in or a current one needed something else from her.

It was approaching early afternoon when things started to slow down, and Christine was regretting not taking Falcon up on his offer to sleep in.

“Little witch,” he whispered in her ear, coming up behind her so quietly she’d been completely unaware of his approach. “I have to leave you for a bit today.”

“What?” She whirled, keeping her tone as low as his so as not to attract additional attention from people in the coffee house. As it stood, several patrons, mainly women, had inquired about who her new helper was when they didn’t think he was in earshot. Some women had been so bold as to ask if he were married or seeing anyone.

“I must leave for a short time.”

“I heard that part. Why? Does this have something to do with your job?” As an afterthought she added, “With Alexis?”

“Christine, it’s better I not address questions that I don’t fully have the answers to yet.”

“So your being here does have something to do with Lexi.” She couldn’t prevent the concern in her voice.

“No, my being here has to do with us. With our future together.”

  Their future?

“We’ll talk more when I return. Close early tonight.”

“I can’t just close early, I have a business to run.”

“Not tonight.” He dipped his head to give her a light kiss.

She resisted the urge to give him her cheek. “What’s that suppose to mean?”

  “Later.”

“You know I’m sick of all this mystery, Falcon. If that’s even your real name,” she lashed out in frustration.

“It is, and I will explain everything later,” he replied in his usual unruffled tone before turning to slip into the kitchen. A collective sigh went up around the room from the few women who loitered about, probably just to ogle the new help.

She was tempted to follow him into the kitchen but knew if she did, it would be empty. What the hell was going on?

It was only nine o’clock and already business was dead. Hell, it had been that way since around eight which was completely unusual for her.

“So you’re going to call it quits early?” Sandy asked, tasting the whipped cream on her flavored coffee.

“Yeah, I guess so. No point in staying open for nothing.”

“Well, maybe I could convince you stop by our place for a little get together.”

She didn’t get a chance to get her refusal out before the young woman was amending her invite.

“Nothing wild or crazy, I promise. Just a few friends, a little music and some socializing.”

Why not? she thought. There was no telling when Falcon would get back, and she would just be making herself crazy waiting for him to make his appearance. Besides, she wasn’t sure if she was even quite ready to see him again. She definitely wanted answers to her questions but doubted she’d get them if he showed up tonight. No, it would be better to confront him in the light of day.

Are you getting this? she asked silently. She hoped Falcon was tapping into her mental channel as he’d done in the past. If you don’t have any answers for me tonight, you can just stay wherever it is that you go at night.

To Sandy, she smiled. “Sure, I can stop by for a little bit.”

Christine could honestly say that she was glad she’d decided to drop in on the shindig. Although it wasn’t as small as she’d expected, the people were all friendly and talkative, just the distraction she needed. A mixture of R&B and rock music cycled through speakers, blaring at a tolerable decibel.

A man greeted her. “So you must be the Christine everyone has raved over.”
