“You’re shaking,” she whispered, trailing her hands over his biceps, staring up at him as he came over top of her. “Are you sure you want this…with me.”

His breath caught as he positioned himself between her legs, capturing her within the confines of his arms and chest. Did he want this with her? I’ll die without you. “I almost can’t believe this is happening.”

She scrunched up her nose, showing her confusion. “Sex?”

He smiled. “No, you and me. I never imagined my life with anyone. I’ve been such a fool, Sage. I tried to push you away. Tried to live the lie I’ve been telling myself for years. All because of my parents failed marriage. You and I…were not them. And no matter what, I could never imagine my life without you.”

She hooked her arms around his neck and drew him down for a kiss. She moaned against his lips. “I know what you mean. I didn’t think I could breathe the night I thought—” She sighed. “Well, you know what I thought.”

“That I was going to nail those bimbos.”

She dug her nails into his back and trailed a path across his shoulders. He hissed. “Hey! I didn’t do it,” he argued, rolling his muscles as the heat of the scratches flickered across his skin.

“No, but that was for making me think you might’ve.”

“Never gonna happen, babe. Not as long as we live.” He dragged his lips over the pulse point in her neck and nuzzled against her, breathing her in. She smelled like heaven. His own personal sanctuary. “No one has ever affected me the way you do. I feel alive with you. Whole.”

A flutter of breath parted from her lips and her eyes glistened as she held his gaze. “You keep saying these things and I might just have to have sex with you all night.”

She kissed him hard, arching her hips and grazing her pussy over his hard shaft. The sensation sent waves of electricity streaming down his spine. He groaned.

“I think someone’s a little eager.” He nipped at her chin, diving down to take her nipple into his mouth. He glided his hand down between her legs, finding her damp and ready. With his thumb, he teased her clit. Slowly, he slipped his finger deep inside her pussy. She was writhing against him in seconds.

“That’s it,” she shouted, rolling her hips again and cupping the back of his head as he feasted on her breasts. “I can’t take it anymore. Condom. Now.”

Grinning, he reached into the nightstand and pulled out the shiny gold package, tore through it, and put the latex on. “I want to be so deep inside you,” he admitted as his hand floated down her body, spreading her legs wider as he settled back against her center.

“Good. I don’t want to wait any longer.”

He slid, ever so slowly, inside her pussy. She arched again as he sank deep. Moaning, he paused for a moment, feeling the warmth of her body envelop him.

“I’ve missed you,” he confessed, pressing his lips to hers, delving his tongue deep. The taste of her flooded his mouth, overriding his senses.

The heels of her feet dug into the muscles of his buttocks, driving him to take her harder. “I’ve missed you, too.” She bit his lower lip. “And your penis.”

He lost his rhythm and together they laughed, cradled in each other’s arms. Nothing had prepared him for the woman who’d stolen his heart and filled his soul with something unexpected and beautiful. He wanted a future with Sage, one that started with tonight and ended with forever. Who knew he had a soft side?

The pressure of her heels against his rear sent him pounding against her, filing her with everything he had. She wrapped her arms around him, squeezing him as she shuddered through her orgasm. It didn’t take long for him to follow her right over the edge.

Breathless and panting, he pressed his body down, supporting most of his weight on his forearms. Kissing her forehead, he rolled to the side and laid on his back. He pulled her to him. With her face resting on his chest, he combed his fingers through her silky hair. Holding her like this felt right. Being with her felt right. This was what he’d been missing from his life for far too long. He trusted Sage and would cherish her for as long as she let him.

“Is it too soon to ask you to move in with me?”

  * * * *

The room began to spin as Sage raised her head to meet his gaze. “What?”

  “Move in with me.”

She shook her head with a laugh. “The sex must’ve been good this time.”

He arched a brow. “It’s always good with you.”

She smiled feeling a warmth fill her cheeks.

“Move in with me,” he repeated.

She eyed him curiously. “You’re serious about this?”

“I’ve never been more serious.” He narrowed his eyes. “I know it seems fast.”

  “Try lightning speed,” she corrected.

“We’ll start slow and build,” he assured her. “Move a few things to my place. Stay the night…a lot. If you find you like being with me more than having your own place—”

The planets must’ve been aligning. Either that, or she had lost her mind. “Okay,” she replied before he finished. “I like that idea. But you should move a few things to my place just in case you tend to come here more than we go to your place.”

“Deal.” He smiled. “Your place might be bigger than mine anyway.”

She laughed softly, keeping her hands on him in case it was a dream. Please don’t be a dream. “Is this really happening?”

“I hope so because I’ve never been happier than I am right now.”

She couldn’t agree more. She rose up, straddled his waist, and kissed him. “I feel the same way.”

He shifted, coming up with a great idea. “Let’s go for a ride together.”

“Thought we just did,” she replied with a girlish giggle.

“Not that kind of riding.” He drilled his pelvis upward, his cock awakening once again. “I was referring to motorcycle riding.”

“Oh,” she breathed, kissing his neck and chin. “You just want to watch my ass as I speed past you on my new motorcycle.”

He smiled, bucking harder. “Damn right, I do.”

Laughing, she wiggled off the bed and picked up her clothing. “You know, I got a big enough bike now that you can ride bitch.”

His brow rose high on his forehead, his eyes gleaming. “Is that a fact?”

She nodded. “I’d like to see you wrapped around me as I rev the engine.”

His grin was wicked, matching the fever of his gaze. “I like the idea of being behind you as you rev my engine.” He groaned, biting his lip hard. “I can think of some pretty hot things to do to your body as you spread your legs around me—I mean, your motorcycle.”

She laughed. “As a fire safety professional, I cannot advise that type of behavior.”

He moved from the bed like a predator ready to attack. “But it might be a hell of a ride,” he teased.

She licked her lips, pressed to her toes and kissed him. With a raised brow, she said, “Then let’s go. I heard there’s a cool restaurant on the way to Fort Worth where we can go and see aliens.”

“There is?” he asked, furrowing his brow as he started to dress.

“Yep,” she said, giving his ass a little pat as he bent over. “Saw it in a motorcycle magazine yesterday.”

He paused, staring at her. “I love your enthusiasm for adventure. I think I’ve met my match.”

She grinned, brushing her hair and finishing up. Jace was right behind her as she left the room and grabbed her keys off the floor where they’d fallen. Before they reached the door to leave, he gently grabbed her and pulled her into a tight embrace. Her heart beat fiercely as he stared into her eyes.

“I was always destined to be with you, you know? There was never any other choice. I know that now.” He brushed his mouth over her ear, the all-consuming power of their love taking hold from her head to her toes. She wouldn’t change a thing that had occurred between them. Everything was as it should be.

She wrapped her arms around hi
s neck and nuzzled against him. “Fate wins every time.”

Kissing her, he whispered, “It sure does.”
