Realistically, these were highly isolated incidents. Odds are, I face an equal statistical threat of violent crime in our own Oklahoma home. Yet, seeing a fear in print makes it somehow more real.
At times I find myself feeling like India, as if every little thing is a sign of pending doom—although lucky for me, my family isn’t involved in a notorious drug ring? I hope? Mom? Dad? LOL!
Anyway, back to what I was saying, sometimes I let fear of what “could” happen prevent me from trying fun new things that could be amazing. I turn fifty this year, and I’m determined to take fear out of my own personal equation.
