Resist Me

“Are you at the office?” Sal asked. Antony moved from the couch, he walked a few steps away from Yvette. When he was out of earshot he turned around, his shaft jutted out toward his goal, Yvette.

“Yes.” Antony said watching Yvette stuff her breast back into their prison, and stand with a look of grim determination. Antony could almost kill Sal for ruining his time with Yvette.

“Good, I am coming up.” Sal said.

“Okay, I’m in my office.” Antony hung up. He took a deep breath, he was going to tell Yvette next time they wouldn’t be interrupted. But Yvette beat him to it.

“This was a mistake,” she said.

Her words didn’t register immediately, because they were foreign, nobody ever denied him. For Yvette to do so now rankled Antony. How could she resist this burning desire that threatened to overwhelm him, it had to be the same for her. For him it was something he couldn’t avoid, not even another day, especially not after tasting her, and now that he did, he didn’t want to resist her anymore. He was willing to break all of his rules to get her into his bed. Each and every one of them, but to her this was a mistake. He sneered at her.

“Really,” he said and pushed himself back into his pants.

She nodded, but didn’t take her eyes off his hard shaft. Antony smirked, her mouth said one thing, but her body was saying another.

Yvette stood, “Yes, we work together, you’re my boss. I don’t think it is wise to mix business and pleasure like this.”

“Really?” he asked and walked closer to her. Her head was swinging left and right. He could tell she was trying to think of a way to retreat. He wouldn’t give it to her.

She kept talking, “Yes,” she swallowed, “we need to resist the attraction between us, I promise you these types of situations don’t end well for anyone.”

  “Resist?” he asked.

“Yes, resist it.” She said firmly.

Antony laughed and pushed a stray hair behind her ear. She had gotten rid of the severe bun and let her hair down, “Resist me? You are saying you need to resist me.” He looked down at her, he knew his time was short, Sal was on his way up, but he didn’t want her to leave believing she could control herself any better than he could. “Can you do it Yvette? Can you resist me?” he thought about his life in the Family, if she could resist him, that may be the best thing for her. He stepped back, “Let’s see if you can.”

Yvette walked to his door but she didn’t open it, she called over her shoulder, “Maybe working late isn’t something we should do in closed areas like our offices. Maybe we should meet in the conference room next time.” Her hand was on the doorknob and her back was to him, so she didn’t see his dark smile.

“Yvette, I can fuck you on the conference room table, this sofa, this table, my desk, your desk, or in my car. I am not picky.” Antony heard her sharp intake of breath, before she opened the door and walked out.

Minutes after Yvette left, Sal walked into his office. He sat down on the sofa and eyed the food on the table, he pointed in silent question. “Go ahead.” Antony said. Nobody else was going to eat it, and his appetite had been ruined, like his hard on.

Antony walked to his desk and picked up his tablet. He handed the tablet to Sal, “I have a plan. I want you to get a group of soldiers together and break them up according to this map,” he pointed to the map on the tablet. “I want them to take an inventory of the trailers, bins, even the fucking cockroaches. I want to know everything sitting on that pier, everything. They should know fucking this up won’t work for me.” He looked into Sal’s eyes to stress the importance.

Sal nodded, “Got it. Who’s the second plate for?” Sal asked with a smile.

  Antony answered, “Yvette.” Sal nodded.

Antony heard the soft ping of an email on his desktop. He stood and walked to his desk. He moved his mouse and clicked on his email. It was an email from Yvette. He read it, because we didn’t get a chance to discuss my analysis this evening, I am attaching my findings to this email. In the attachment, you will find a trend analysis for the first six months of our previous fiscal year, with expected and unexpected spikes and drops. Then I compared those actuals to previous years and completed a variance commentary. If this is acceptable to you, I will continue doing this and sending you the results of my work via email. If there is something we need to discuss, we can meet during the day to discuss it.

She was still here, Antony thought. He glanced out of the window behind him. It was dark. He didn’t like knowing she would walk into a dark garage alone. He told her he would make sure she got to the car safely, so he would. Antony replied to her email, pack up, I’m leaving and so are you.

Antony shut down his computer and looked at Sal, “Get your men together and get them started, then meet me at the club. I need a stiff drink.” Antony opened the drawer to his desk and pulled out his keys. Sal was already at the door waiting. They stepped out of his office, “Go ahead, I will walk down with Yvette.”

Sal nodded, “See you at the club.”

Antony turned to her office. He knocked on the door but nobody answered. He opened the door and nobody was there. The silly woman had left without him. Her intoxicating fragrance lingered in her office. Antony walked over to her desk and wrote, Do not do this again, on a post it and stuck it to her monitor.

  ***

Yvette walked into her office, relieved she hadn’t ran into Antony on her way into work this morning. She almost expected him to pop out from around a corner as she walked to her office. She spent the night trying to figure out what was between them. Was it lust or something more? “Damn him!” she yelled in frustration and dropped her bag next to her desk and sat. She moved the mouse to her computer and noticed the note on the monitor left by Antony, Do not do this again. Yvette figured he would come to walk her to her car, which was why she packed up and ran out of the office after she sent him that email. Antony wouldn’t have to worry about her, she did not plan to stay late with him again. She would schedule time during the day to meet with Antony about what she discovered. Yvette was even willing to come in on the weekend during the day, if she needed to, but she was not willing to be in cramped corners with Antony again, that could prove ruinous.

The afternoon sun was burning Yvette’s neck, she was about to stand and move to her sofa to work for a while when a husky voice sounded from her open door, “Where the hell have you been?” Yvette looked up to see Areyanna standing in her door.

“I have been here. I have been busy but here.” Yvette said.

“Did you read the email? We have an executive meeting today?” Areyanna asked.

Yvette hadn’t checked her emails in the last hour, she was working in a different document, which she would have been doing right now, if Areyanna hadn’t walked in. Yvette moved her mouse to turn the monitors on. The monitors came to life. She clicked on the email from Sandra, who she now knew was Antony’s executive assistant. Her brows furrowed in frustration. Damn, they had a meeting in an hour to discuss this week’s sales. Shit, she hadn’t had time to look at the sales this week much less form an opinion on them. She had a little more than half an hour to get ready. She could throw something together in that time, in the event Antony asked her opinion on an issue.

“I didn’t know, good looking out. I better get ready for this meeting.” Areyanna didn’t take the hint that Yvette wanted her to leave. Instead, she stepped further into Yvette’s office and closed the door. Damn it, she didn’t have time for this.

“So, today will be the day,” Areyanna said.

“Today is the day for what?” Yvette asked, lost in the change of conversation.

“Today is the day I will make a move on Antony.” Yvette had to stop herself from rolling her eyes but she couldn’t stop the tick that came in her jaw when she called him Antony. She said Antony as if they were more than friends. Yvette caught herself. Was she being jealous? Hell no, she didn’t know Antony, she’d only met him a few days ago. Yeah, they were m
inutes away from having sex last night but lapse of judgments happened all the time, it meant nothing, so why was her hand balled in a fist? That couldn’t be easily explained away.

Yvette calmed herself and answered, “That’s good. Tell me how it goes.”

Areyanna moved in closer, “Oh, I can tell it will go very well. His first day here he practically wanted to do me on the conference room table.”

Yvette grunted. She could see him trying that because he said as much to her last night. A playboy. The new CEO was nothing but a fucking playboy, Yvette despised his kind. But it took a load off her mind. Yvette knew how to handle playboys. She hadn’t known how to handle an honest attraction, but that wasn’t what was between them. What was between them was lust and lust could be tamed, but further embarrassment of being another notch on his womanizing belt would be too much for Yvette to handle. Ugh, she felt sick. His damn tongue was down her throat. Never again.

Yvette smiled, she felt relieved that she misunderstood the connection between she and Antony. Yvette wouldn’t deny that she wanted him, but sexual attraction was pure and natural. She could deal with that. She’d been attracted to several men in her lifetime that she couldn’t have and she got over it.

Yvette shook her head and answered Areyanna, “The conference table? Like that dirty book you had me read about a boss and his assistant getting it on?”

Areyanna’s smile lit up her entire face up. She was gorgeous. She could see her getting what she wanted from Antony. Yvette shook her head, these feelings, and thoughts were useless. They didn’t make her money, they didn’t add value to her life, so they didn’t get residency inside her brain. She pushed them out.

“Exactly!” Areyanna exclaimed. “I will do him on that conference room table just like in that book. I mean, I am not his secretary but he is my boss.”

Yvette smiled, “Technically, I am your boss, and he is your boss’s boss.”

Areyanna waved a hand in the air, “Semantics, are not allowed in romance.”

Yvette smiled, “Make sure you call the cleaning crew in after you two screw on the conference room table. I don’t want our next lunch meeting catered by you two.” Yvette made a face, “Now get going. You have a man to catch and I have a meeting to prepare for.”

Areyanna left and Yvette pulled up this week’s sales and scanned the lines.

  ***

Areyanna walked into the meeting early. She was hoping to catch Antony before anyone else came in and luck was on her side. She puffed her chest out and walked toward him. “Hi, Mr. Carbonaro. How are you settling in?” she ran one of her manicured nails up the table. Areyanna wore a nude skirt with a burnt orange blouse. She unbuttoned several buttons. Her heels screamed, “You want to fuck me in these.”

Antony looked up at the sound of Areyanna’s voice. His brows drew in from the sexual energy she was throwing his way. Antony watched her run her nail up the table obliviously mimicking the way she wanted to stroke his shaft. He’d made enough mistakes with his employees this week, he wasn’t making anymore. He didn’t want to make one with Areyanna even if he could. Anyway, he’d decided last night that he would make one serious mistake with Yvette before all was said and done. With Yvette on his mind, he didn’t want to indulge Areyanna.

He answered her, his voice clipped and to the point, “I have settled in well.” It annoyed him when Areyanna sat on his right side, that was a place for his President. Areyanna should be on his left. But then again this wasn’t the Family, it was corporate America, did Yvette even care where she sat?

When Areyanna sat down, she crossed her legs, she paused before she completed the cross inviting him to look between her legs. Antony saw her sheer black panties, he rolled his eyes and turned away. He was in no mood to play with a woman with loose morals. He had his forbidden fruit hanging low from a branch, taunting him, seducing him, begging him to pick it, and it wasn’t this woman. It would never be this woman.

Antony looked at his watch. People should show up soon. He could do small talk with her until then. “I only see you at meetings or when you are walking to meetings. When I come by your office, your door is closed and your assistant tells me you’re busy.” She pouted.

Antony ignored the way she tried to draw attention to her pretty lips and returned his focus to the paper in front of him, he said words, but he wasn’t following the conversation. “It has been a large transition but I hope to be more visible once everything calms down.” He looked up from the paper, “Is there something you need help with? Is that why you were seeking me out?” He gave her the calm, trust me, smile. It was all fake. He didn’t give a fuck, and he hoped she would not ask for his help.

Areyanna leaned forward giving Antony unspoken permission to look down her shirt. “I do need your help to fix an annoying problem but it isn’t work related and it is best discussed over drinks.” She winked at him.

He was about to set her straight when Yvette walked into the room. He closed his eyes. Damn, Yvette would get the wrong idea. She walked in while Areyanna was whispering something close enough to him he could see down her shirt, and her hand had found its way to his elbow, which he hadn’t realized until now. The situation appeared intimate, romantic even. Antony sighed. Areyanna pulled back and said, “Hey boss lady.”

Antony met Yvette’s eyes and thought he would find hurt, anger or something. What he saw was nothing, no anger, no malice, nothing. He felt his jaw clench. She smiled at Areyanna and took a seat toward the back, effectively dismissing him. He didn’t know what it was about Yvette, or what he wanted from her, but he knew he hated it when she ignored him, and her determination to resist their intense attraction was fucking annoying. He tried to get her to look at him, to pay attention to him by laughing and talking with people as they came in, but she kept her eyes down, fiddling with her phone. It had only been a handful of days, but he hadn’t thought about a woman more in his life than he thought about Yvette.

Antony wouldn’t let her dismiss him that easily. He grabbed a piece of paper, he didn’t know what was on it, it didn’t matter, it was a prop. Antony stood and walked to stand behind Yvette. Antony placed the paper in front of her and bent down to her ear. He pointed to nothing and said, “That wasn’t what you think.” She nodded and played along. “What did I think?”

“That I was up to something with Areyanna.”

“I didn’t think that.” Yvette said.

“Really, then is this you resisting me?” he asked.

“I see.” Yvette said, he smiled, she was trying to keep up the pretense that they were talking about business.

“Can you resist me?” he blew softly against her ear, “don’t you want my lips on you again? Sucking your-”

“No, I can take it from here, thanks.” She interrupted him and grabbed the paper from his hands, and placed it in her leather portfolio. He stood, most of the executive team had joined them. He walked back to his seat, he looked toward Yvette, and some snot-nosed motherfucker had sat next to her. He heard him say, “Hey pretty lady.” So he watched her reaction. She fucking smiled at him, she had never smiled at Antony like that, not even when he stuffed her full breast in his mouth. He had to calm himself, or that man would end up getting fucked up. These people only knew him as Antony Carbonaro CEO of B&E not Antony Carbonaro, underboss to the Carbonaro Crime Family, the son to the current Boss. But that didn’t mean they couldn’t meet his alter ego in a dark alley one day.

He gave Yvette one last look, she was still laughing, unsurprisingly his fist was clenched. “Let’s start the meeting,” he pasted on a smile, he could do that with no thought or sincere emotion at all.

  ***

The meeting went on for an hour. Yvette thanked god she didn’t have to speak. She was the first to get up and leave. Thankfully, Areyanna and Rick from accounting were talking to Antony, so he couldn’t talk to her. She sighed and leaned against the wall outside of the conference room. Antony was the devil. She went into the meeting disgusted w
ith herself. Disgusted that she let him touch her and kiss her, now, she wanted his hands and mouth on her again. The man, no, not the man, the playboy was playing with her again, she had to keep her head in the game. He didn’t want her, he only wanted to fuck her. For all Yvette knew he and Areyanna were fucking on the conference table right now. Her stomach lurched at the thought. Yes, she couldn’t forget the kind of man he was, and that there was no reason for her to feel anything for him. Soon her body would follow her logic, but for now, she needed a distraction.

  ***

Antony saw Yvette run out of the conference room as if her office wasn’t right next to his, as if he wouldn’t just walk there after this. He smiled a genuine smile that surprised him. His smiles were all designed and calculated to give him the best advantage in a conversation or situation. That smile was genuine. It took a moment to get Areyanna out of the conference room, he had to artfully talk his way out of meeting her for drinks or something.

After everyone left, he walked straight toward Yvette’s office, ready to get into some daytime debauchery, but he was stopped by the vibration of his phone against his thigh. “Damn it, if this is Sal cock blocking me again,” he said out loud and shook his head, but it wasn’t Sal it was Kelly. He grinned, she kept her word to call him about Jim’s admission.
