“I could do something, I guess.” For a fraction of a second, her face seemed softer. “But you will keep in touch? You won’t disappear?” she asked Dom and even got up and took a step closer to him. If Seth wasn’t so certain of Dom’s sexuality, he’d tell her to back off. Dana clearly had a weird kind of hero worship going on.
Domenico brightened and pulled her into the briefest hug that she seemed to drink up and absorb to the very last split second. “Absolutely. I will be calling your cell phone, and if you want to get in touch, use that Internet forum the way we discussed. I need you to be here, Dana.”
She took a deep breath. “I’ll get the intel. I’ll find my way to the higher-ups.”
“Thank you. We can get back together once we know all about what’s going on here. I hope that’s enough of a challenge for you.”
Dana nodded, and after a few more words, she said her good-byes. She even took the fruit salad Seth had prepared for her.
“Can’t get the staff these days, right?” Seth laughed to Dom and got up as he closed the plastic boxes. “At least you’ve got good catering.”
Domenico chuckled and sat in Seth’s lap, pulling him into a kiss. Domenico’s skin was smooth and fragrant, and the smooch seemed to last forever as they both leaned into one another. Domenico eventually pulled Seth to his feet.
“Enough rest. We’ve got to go.”
“Getting Mark new documents? That’s going to be an adventure.” Seth put on a pair of sunglasses as they walked out of the room.
“And a stretch on my wallet,” sighed Domenico as they walked out of the room and straight outside. Dana was still walking toward the main building of the Coffin Nails compound as Seth and Domenico approached the van.
Seth nudged Dom’s shoulder with his nose. “How bad is it? Will I have to get a job?” He couldn’t help the little smile.
Domenico laughed again, completely relaxed. “No, you’re good as my house husband.”
“Trophy husband.” Seth couldn’t help another kiss, which ended abruptly when Mark honked at them from the van. At least wherever they’d end up, Seth knew Domenico was his one true purpose.

About the author
K. A. Merikan is the pen name for Kat and Agnes Merikan, a team of writers, who are taken for sisters with surprising regularity. Kat’s the mean sergeant and survival specialist of the duo, never hesitating to kick Agnes’s ass when she’s slacking off. Her memory works like an easy-access catalogue, which allows her to keep up with both book details and social media. Also works as the emergency GPS. Agnes is the Merikan nitpicker, usually found busy with formatting and research. Her attention tends to be scattered, and despite pushing thirty, she needs to apply makeup to buy alcohol. Self-proclaimed queen of the roads.
They love the weird and wonderful, stepping out of the box, and bending stereotypes both in life and books. When you pick up a Merikan book, there’s one thing you can be sure of – it will be full of surprises.
