Cameron stiffened.
Ian braced himself. Making his supervisor angry wasn’t the smartest action he could have taken, but then again, he was well used to being on the receiving end of disapproval. His father had made him an expert.
But Cameron didn’t yell at him. Instead, the man put a hand on his shoulder. “I know you don’t want to do this, but you have to. Only by combining yours and Coco’s talents can my wife come to see that not all is as it appears.”
A strange sense of peace filled Ian’s soul at Cameron’s touch and he stood up, dislodging the hand on his shoulder. “You are incorrect. I am happy to do whatever is required of me. Is there anything else I should know?”
“Yes.” Cameron’s hazel eyes turned almost green. “You cannot fail.”
“I don’t plan to.”
