Bigfella clapped Jase on the shoulder. "Plenty of shits would be given. But I don't think that's it. Why the fuck would they be so upset over us doing business with the Koreans anyway? It doesn't make any fucking sense at all."

Jase nodded. "And there was one thing bothering me."

  "What's that?"

Jase leaned forward. "Why'd they use fucking meth heads? They've got enough of their own guys. Why pay some incompetent white boy drug addicts instead of using their own men."

Bigfella nodded, his great mane of hair shaking as he did so. "Yep. Look Jase, I think someone's got it out for you. Thing is, I don't think it's the Mexicans."

Jase nodded. It hurt to admit it, but it seemed to be the case.

"Those assholes are still in the warehouse right? I know you spoke to them before, but I want them spoken to again. Spoken to hard."

With a grim face Jase nodded. He knew what that meant. The Doctor. With his medical training he knew better than anyone how to get information out of someone who didn't want to speak. That, and he was used to blood and screams from working in an ER. It was dirty work, but sometimes it had to be done.

"Alright. I'll let him know. Anything else?"

Bigfella sighed. "No. This is fucked though. Someone's trying to fuck with us, and the only person I like fucking me are slutty young bitches. I do not want to be fucked by the Mexicans. I do not want to be fucked by the Koreans. And I definitely don't want to be fucked by whoever-the-fuck-it-is fucking with us right now."

Jase almost grinned; Bigfella certainly had a way with words. But the situation was too serious for that.

"Now, I heard you brought some bitch in today. Good. Go fuck her and forget about this shit for a while."

Jase nodded. He wished he wouldn't refer to her as a bitch, but he knew that was just Bigfella's way.

They stood and hugged, clapping each other on the back, before Jase headed out the door. He left the older man behind, who remained sitting at the head of the table, his brow furrowed as he sat and thought.

Jase fought his way across the noisy clubhouse floor and then cursed. The Doctor was dragging away Red, one of the new pledges, from Nicole and Lucy. He hurried over.

"Are you girls okay? What happened?"

Lucy and Nicole exchanged glances and grinned. "We're good. We took care of it." They clinked their bottles together. Jase shook his head. Thank fuck for that.

"Give me a minute, I gotta talk to The Doctor about something."

  CHAPTER TWELVE

  Nicole - Late

With a cold bottle of beer in one hand and the other enveloped in Jase's we crossed the floor of the clubroom to the booths on the far wall.

Jase pushed back a table and slid in, pulling me behind him. He placed an arm over my shoulders and his hand rested on the bare skin of my midriff. That feels nice. Comfortable. I looked down and was ashamed to see there were still dirty marks from the time I spent on the floor earlier that afternoon.

Glancing down I noticed my knees were also dirty. I was puzzled for a moment. They weren't dirty when I got on the back of the bike. Oh yeah...

Jase absentmindedly ran his fingers over my now warm skin send gentle shivers running through me. "Sorry about today. It's been a long one huh?"

I gave him a soft smile. "It's okay." Well, apart from getting shot at.

His voice was warm. "Seriously, I don't want you to think it's always like this. It isn't. I mean sure, there's fights and the occasional run-in with the cops. But that other shit today? That ain't normal. Especially not for women, y’know? When shit does go down it’s usually just us guys involved. Hopefully it's over now anyway. A stupid misunderstanding. Brodie's going to sort it."

I thought back to when we were standing over the two disarmed, trembling men. The memory of the power we had over them filled me with a heady rush.

I rested a hand on his warm jean-clad leg. I leaned in close, enjoying his warmth and musk. "So what's it normally like?"

He thought for a moment. "I dunno. It's just normal, y'know? I don't know what people like you do. It's hard to describe the everyday." People like me?

I thought for a moment, then asked something I was scared to hear the answer to. "Am I--", I hesitated, "Am I going to be initiated? As one of your party girls?"

  His eyes widened. Uhoh.

"I'm supposed to be right? Like y'know, Lucy was?"

"Do you want to be? I thought..." he trailed off.

I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but I knew one thing; that feeling on the back of the bike around sunset as I'd screamed down the mountain valley; that feeling was something I wanted again.

The world of upcoming midterms and papers and sorority bitches and fratboy jocks was a million miles away right now. And I liked it that way. "Look. I felt something today I haven't felt in a long time. I felt alive. Like... I don't know, like the last three years of college, the years at home before that, those times I was just existing. But today? With you? That was amazing. Even the bad parts." I paused for breath and to regain my train of thought.

Jase grinned. "I guess some of it was kinda fun, huh? Though it'd be nice if we could go for a proper ride, without getting shot at."

I nuzzled gently against him, letting my fingers run down to his knees and up again to his thigh. "I'd like that. To go for a real ride."

"But do you want to be a party chick? You heard from Lucy, I mean--" he gestured across the room. The two girls I'd seen kissing earlier were now on their knees in front of two pledges, the men's pants around their ankles as the girls heads bobbed.

  I bit my lip.

Jase continued before I could speak. "Look. You remember what that guy Lonnie said when we came in? About how he was worried about me?"

I nodded into his shoulder. "The thing is. I used to be like them. I used to party all the time, a different chick, hell, two chicks or more every night."

Where's this going? I don't want to hear about all the women you've been with.

Jase continued to speak, "But I just got sick of it. Sick of them," he nodded his head towards the girls on the floor, "So the guys have been giving me some shit. You're the first girl in a while. And you know what?"

  "What?"

"I don't want to share you."

I smiled to myself. He almost sounded embarrassed about not wanting to 'share' me. I felt like a weight had been lifted off both our shoulders.

I raised my head and pecked him on the lips. "You don't wanta share me huh?"

  "Nope."

"Not even," I lowered my voice to a whisper and spoke into his ear, "with T-Bone? He's kinda hot..."

He let out a big laugh and kissed me again.

When it was over I snuggled back in to him. "So what's with all the weird names anyway?"

  "Nicknames?" he asked.

"Yeah. Like T-Bone and Bottle and Bigfella and Jase." I giggled as I said the last one.

He laughed. "Well Jase is my name. It's short for Jaseamondo"

  "What?"

"I'm kidding." Of course he was kidding. Idiot.

"Jason. Anyway, it's just kind of a thing we do. There's stories behind most of them. Some of them are pretty funny."

I felt content as he squeezed me and continued to speak. "T-Bone, for example, when he was in high school he went to one of them steakhouses; y'know, the ones that say 'your 72 ounce steak is free if you can eat it all in an hour'."

I giggled. "And he ate it all, I take it?"

His voice sounded almost proud as he recalled what T-Bone had done. "Sure did. And three dinner rolls. The biggest baked potato you've ever seen and a bucket-sized bowl of 'slaw."

"Wow." I was impressed. Kind of grossed out, but impressed nonetheless.

  "And get this--"

  "What?"

"He did it in forty five minutes. He beat their record by a full ten minutes. Of course, he wouldn't touch a T-bone steak again for a year. That's why we kept calling him it; it pissed him off."
/>   I laughed at the thought. These guys are funny. "What happened a year later?"

Jase laughed and gave me a squeeze. "He went back and did it again."

  "No way!"

  "Way."

I took a sip from my bottle and found my open mouth stretching wider as it expanded to a yawn. I blinked a couple of times. I wonder how late it is now.

"What about Lonnie?" I looked around the room and it was quieter than before. Music still blared out of the speakers, but the number of people seemed to have dwindled. I saw one of the girls from before sitting astride a different biker on a chair across the room. Is that Lonnie? Speak of the devil.

"Lonnie? He's from England. London. We called him London for a bit. But that was too long. So now he's Lonnie. Wanta know something cool?"

  I yawned again. "Sure."

"You hear this song?" Jase gestured towards the speakers.

I listened to the loud rock music. A man was shout-singing 'You fill my needs / When you're on your knees...' "Uh-huh" I replied.

He let out a laugh at the lasciviousness of the lyrics before continuing. "He knows these guys. They're some Brit rock band. They're touring now, and we're going to be doing the security for their show when they come out this way."

"Cool," I mumbled. Is it cool? I'm too tired to know.

Jase started to tell me about Bigfella, and how he was called that because he was a big guy. But I guess I fell asleep before he could finish telling me.

The last thing I remember was the comfortable drone of Jase's voice as I snuggled up against the soft leather of his jacket and felt the comforting presence of his arm around my shoulders and his hand resting on my bare thigh.

  CHAPTER THIRTEEN

  Brodie

The engine of the motorcycle screamed as he headed in from the desert to the bad part of Farmington. His thick jacket, armored jeans and leather gloves stopped the cool night air from making him cold. On his face his thick beard which hung down his chest made sure he never felt a chill there either.

As he hit the city limits he slowed down. There was little chance of cops at this time of night, but there could be other traffic. Drunk drivers in particular.

He headed through the nicer areas, the sound of his motorcycle setting dogs barking as he rolled on through. Most of the town was asleep, it was after midnight.

When he reached the bad part of town he slowed down further. It seemed the city didn't much care for this neighborhood, and it showed in the potholes and cracks which ran through the streets.

There was more life in this neighborhood at this time of night. Despite half the houses being boarded up, the other half were almost invariably lit. People stayed up late around here.

When Brodie reached the house of the Mexican gang leader he propped his bike up outside and turned off the engine.

From inside loud Spanish language rap music poured out. It sounded like there was a party going on.

He strode up to the front door, his powerful legs crunching stones and gravel into the ground as he walked up. Let's get this over with. I got all kinds of better things I could be doing with Lucy. He grinned at the thought of holding her legs down behind her head as he had her. This chick is old lady material. The things she can do with a dick...

When he reached the front door he drew a breath and tried to regain his focus. He had to sort this shit out, then he could go back to the clubhouse for his evening fun.

With a large meaty fist he hammered on the door. He wasn't gentle; the music inside was far too loud for a soft, polite knock. The door shook in its hinges as hammered half a dozen times.

With his sixth smack on the door he was surprised when it opened and a frightened young Mexican kid opened the door. He must have been right there. The teenager was holding a gun, but it wasn't pointed at Brodie. Not yet.

"I wanta speak to the boss." Brodie's deep voice was powerful and had to be obeyed. The kid nodded and ran down the hallway to what Brodie guessed was the living room, and the source of the music.

Brodie stood on the steps, waiting for perhaps a minute before the boy returned, gesturing for Brodie to come in.

As he walked towards the room the music was lowered. Good we'll be able to talk instead of shout.

The living room was filthy. Brodie shook his head to himself as he surveyed the wreckage. On the floor were empty 40s and bottles of tequila. The threadbare carpet was burned with black holes, and he could see the remains of a couple of blunts.

There was a dirty sofa and half a dozen lawn chairs scatted around the room. Each one held a Mexican. They looked at him expectantly.

"I've come to clear up a misunderstanding."

One of the men yelled something in Spanish. The teenager who'd led him here nodded and ran off out the other door of the living room to the kitchen.

  "Oh you have, have you?"

  "We don't want no beef."

The kid ran back in and handed a bottle of beer to Brodie, who took it in one of his giant hands.

"No beef?" The man who was their apparent leader raised an eyebrow at him. "You don't want no beef huh?"

Brodie's voice was strong and confident, "That's right. We get it. That shit today was obviously a misunderstanding. We ain't gonna do shit with the Koreans."

The sitting men exchanged heated words. Brodie didn't understand any of them. He took a swig of his beer and waited.

  Finally the leader stood up.

"A misunderstanding? Let me show you something."

Brodie nodded. The Mexican approached him and indicated towards the door the teenager had disappeared back out of again.

Brodie walked across the room, his long legs allowing him to cross it in just three steps. His heavy boots knocked bottles and chip packets out of the way.

He walked into the kitchen where the nervous looking kid was staring wide eyed at him.

Goddammit. On the ground was a large sheet of plastic.

Brodie went to turn around and started to speak, "Look, I don't know what you thin--".

His words were interrupted as the three grim looking Mexicans in the doorway unleashed a hail of bullets into his solid frame. As he dropped to the floor the last words he heard were, "He was my son fuckhead."

  CHAPTER FOURTEEN

  Nicole

I awoke lying in bed. My head ached, but not too badly. I could sense the sun streaming in, but didn't want to open my eyes just yet.

I felt something, someone, move behind me and something pressed in to my back. I opened my eyes with a start and was greeted by the sun rising across the desert. I gasped, it was beautiful.

I slowly remembered what I'd done the day before. The day’s events flashing across my memory. But then I reached a blank. The last thing I remembered was drinking with Jase in the booth and talking about steak or something.

Did we sleep together? It doesn't feel like we slept together. I examined my body. My shorts were gone but I was wearing my panties. The t-shirt was still on, but my bra seemed to be missing.

I reached behind me to see what it was pressing in to my back. It was exactly what I thought it was. We were in Jase's trailer and he was behind me, his morning glory awake before he was.

I admired the view outside for another second, before rolling over to take in a different, but equally attractive view.

Jase was lying next to me, sleeping. I slowly sat up, not wanting to wake him, just wanting to watch him for the moment.

On the floor next to the bed were his jeans, boots and shirt. I could see his jacket on the back of a chair across the room.

He was wearing only his boxer shorts, which were currently tented out far from his sleeping body. I grinned to myself.

His flat stomach swept up his v-shaped torso to his muscular pecs, shoulders and arms. There were a ton of tattoos all over his hot body. I smiled to myself as I admired his sleeping form. His face looked peaceful, unworried as he slept. This is weird isn't it? I've seen his dick, but I hadn't seen his body until now.
/>
I lay back down facing him, wrapping my arm over him and snuggling up against him. I could feel his hardness gently pressing against my bare stomach and it felt good.

Wake up. I didn't know if it was the after-effects of the alcohol of the night before, or just his body in general, but I knew I wanted him that morning.

I gently pressed my lips against his. They were soft and warm but I got no response. Wake up. Wake up and take me Jase.

I slowly extended a bare foot down his leg, from his knee down to his ankle. The hairs of his leg tickled my foot as it slid down. He didn't respond.

I let my hand wander between our bodies, over his hard chest to his boxers. I shifted slightly to give me room. I slid my hand underneath his boxers and found him.

My hands wrapped around him and I squeezed. The skin there was incredibly soft, but when I squeezed he was hard like hickory underneath.

My fingers closed around him and I firmly pulled up. He gasped and his eyes flickered open. That woke you up.

He stared at me for a moment, confusion crossing his eyes. Uhoh. I suddenly felt embarrassed and whipped my hand out.

  He laughed. "Put it back."

I smiled and did I was told, enjoying his warmth in my hand.

"Say, do you want to do something today?" It looked like he was trying to stop himself from grinning as he asked. My hand was having the desired effect as I slowly but methodically maintained my up-down motion on him.

I raised my eyebrows slightly, "What do you have in mind? I gotta get back to the dorm before its too late. I've got a stupid paper to write, and there's gonna be a quiz in poly-sci tomorrow."

He laughed. "Okay. I won't keep you out late. Just until the early afternoon? There's something I want to show you."

His breath was a little faster now. I continued to work my hand as we chatted. "Oh?"

Jase sucked in air as I gave him a squeeze stronger than before. "There's, uh," How'd you like that, tough guy? "There's a spot I know the river. It's quiet, but pretty. We could maybe go for a swim, have a picnic?" He was panting slightly.
