Legacy of Hunters Ridge Page 35

by Sarah Barrie

A thoughtful smile worked its way across his face. It wouldn’t be such a risk now, though, now he was no one – a ghost in the wilderness.

She flicked back her dark hair, exposing her long, elegant neck. He saw the neat little bandage, smirked some more. He’d enjoyed slicing it, even though the cut had been too shallow. He closed his eyes and imagined the blade going deeper. He shuddered with pleasure, his breath trembling out.

Perhaps it was a good thing he hadn’t wasted her. The masters would find her impressive. She’d be worth a bit – would bring in a good pool. A specimen like that would earn him back some favour. The money would set him up nicely – he’d need it to get himself somewhere new. And if they were able to hunt here again, she’d be out of the way. It would shut her investigations into the hunting groups up once and for all. Nodding to himself, he took one last look before slinking back into the forest. He was going to get that chance to wipe the smiles off their faces after all.

Yeah, Ebony Blakely was gonna bleed. Real pretty.
