  He gave Chelsea a nudge to get her moving, then he took her hand as they walked across the snow-dusted ice. Chelsea slipped, of course, but he held her up. “I may not be able to protect you from a fire-breathing dragon, but I can keep you from breaking your neck.”

  She laughed. “That’s all I ask. Save me from free-falling off balconies and give me great sex. You are totally my Prince Charming.”

  They were probably more like Jack and Jill, but the truth was, to him, she was absolutely a prize to be won. “Hey.” He pulled her to a stop. “I love you, princess.”

  Her laugh disappeared and her eyes softened. “I love you, too.”

  Then she promptly fell on her ass.

  And they lived happily ever after.
