His Substitute Wife... My Sister Book Two

“Thank you. I’ve never gotten served breakfast in bed unless I was at a hospital,” she teased.
“Expect a whole lot of firsts with me,” Parker said.
She moved slightly away from the kiss he tried to give her, bothered by something. “Before we go any further, I want to let you know I don’t plan on keeping another secret from you ever, Parker.”
He looked a little confused.
“I should also let you know, that I knew about the money and where it was, but Chyna told me to keep it a secret. I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. You were deceived and used too long, Charisse. You could barely get your feet on the ground before they were trying to kick them out from under you, but I knew what was going on with the money.”
“So you aren’t angry with me?”
“No, Charisse and if you thought I was, for that I apologize. We both have a lot to learn about one another and I hope to spend a lot of time with you to learn everything about you.”
She relaxed and let him kiss her briefly, but she had more to get off her chest. “Speaking of firsts, I’ve been thinking Parker. Kimberly told me last night that you went to Ohio to get married to Chyna.”
He was curious as to where this was going. “And?”
“And we had a quick marriage as well, but I remember you saying that you wanted a fairy tale marriage, but you never had a fairy tale wedding.”
Bashfully, he said, “Chyna just wanted to hurry up and get something done and I didn’t think you would be into something big.”
“Parker, you do so much for people you care about, someone needs to do something for you.”
Moving over her, he wanted to crush her to death in a hug, but he restrained himself. “Thank you.”
She moved her arms around his neck. “So you won’t mind spending money on another wedding?” she asked shyly.
“Charisse, you can spend money until your heart’s content. I would marry you every year if you wanted to.”
“I don’t think we need to celebrate like that every year.” It felt odd speaking in terms of the future when she had never planned for it before – odd and wonderful at the same time. “There’s one more thing.”
“Anything!” he said excitedly.
“At dinner last night, I heard you tell Ethan you might rebuild the house that burned down, but I was thinking …” She hesitated a little because she had never just openly expressed her opinion on anything to him when it concerned their lives. Usually she trusted Parker’s decision on things because he seemed to make very good decisions and she was so used to others running her life and telling her how to live it that she never thought her own opinion mattered.
Parker patiently waited to hear her input into their lives very happy she was expressing her opinion.
“I was thinking that we find another house or even go so far as to build another house, somewhere else.”
His eyes were stoic so she couldn’t tell whether this was a favorable thing to say or not.
“In the city?” he questioned.
“Yes, I wouldn’t want to leave our friends and your business– “
She didn’t continue because he kissed her passionately and she knew it wasn’t to arouse, but to show his appreciation. Reading into his kisses was becoming fun for her because he had so many of them. Her body still tingled in response to his, but Dr. Redmond had stressed her body needed rest for at least six weeks.
“And what about the honeymoon?” Parker asked.
“Would you have time?” she asked worriedly.
He couldn’t believe he had a woman who actually cared about his life and not her own, it was his own fairy tale coming true. “How about a fancy hotel for the weekend away from the babies, which Kimberly thinks are hers for now and then in about a couple of years, we can go away longer?”
Planning for the future again. Would it always be so evident? Would she forever count the days as she had been used to doing or would she relax and let time slip by like everyone else did?
“That sounds perfect.”
Moving to his side and pulling her body to his, he said tenderly, “You’re perfect, Charisse.”
Blushing, she said, “I’m far from perfect, Parker.”
Brushing his lips against hers, knowing he was going to love the feel of them for the rest of his life, he whispered, “You are perfect for me, Charisse.”
Charisse leaned her head back and let his mouth overtake hers, feeling his heart beat on his tongue as it circled hers and loving that her own beat just as fast as his.
With a wicked grin, she pushed away slightly out of breath as if this was their first kiss all over again, feeling his thick member pressed against her thigh. “I know I can’t do anything for a couple of weeks, but I was wondering if I could play the counting game on you.”
Parker’s eyes rolled in his head at just the thought of Charisse’s mouth on his body. “Dear Lord, woman, you keep talking like that, and we won’t make it to six weeks.”
Undoing his pants, she laughed. “It’ll be a nice secret to keep between us.”
His groan of pleasure told her that he would do anything to make her happy and she knew she was going to enjoy every moment of her life from here on out with her new family.
