Only then had she agreed to let him take her out.

  The rest had been history.

His hands trembled as he ripped open the envelope, pulling out the black linen paper inside.

  Four words.

Four words in elegant, familiar script that made him crumple the note in his hands.

  Did you miss me?

  Acknowledgments

I’m horrible at this kind of thing. It’s not the thanking people part that messes me up, but rather trying to say the right words, but I’m giving it a go anyway.

H—thank you for your support. You’re my rock, my honey bun, and all the other fluffy names that I call you when no one else is around. You help me through every stage of this writing process and sometimes, ‘I love you,’ doesn’t feel like enough.

Jenny—you are a rock star! This author couldn’t ask for a better editor to have. Whenever I’m in a crisis, I can always count on you. :)

Aime—thank you for your help with the translations! Not only are you an awesome reader, but you’re just an awesome person in general, thank you so much for your help!

And to you, the readers, thank you for taking a chance on the Den of Mercenaries series. They are such a stark difference from the Bratva, but they’re so much fun to write. For those that are curious, Skorpion is up next, and I can’t wait to dive into his book!
