  Chapter 1 – The Race

Ethan walked up to Ian and three other drivers and handed Ian a wrapped stack of bills that had 10,000 written on the wrapper.

“Gentlemen, you know the rules. Shortcuts are forbidden, and you will be disqualified. If you need to go off route, due to an unforeseen company, you must take a longer route. I want a clean race. Return to your cars and pull up to the starting line.” Said Ian.

Ian was the banker. He always held the money for the street races. He was judge and jury should anyone complain of cheating.

Ethan walked back to his metallic blood-red Chevrolet Camaro and got in. He started the car and drove to the starting line. He watched as the other drivers pulled up on either side of him. He was up against a Hellcat Charger and two Corvette’s. He knew the drivers and their cars well as he had beat them all before. The challenge tonight was a brand new course he had never raced on before.

The tall busty brunette walked between the two middle cars. She pointed at each driver in the line and watched them give her the nod that they were ready. She lifted the green flag in the air and waited an agonizing 6 or 7 seconds before dropping her arm signaling the start of the race.

The four cars all squealed their tires as they punched the gas. Being the first car out of the parking lot was critical as the first ¼ mile of the race was down a single lane just barely wide enough for one car.

Ethan was the first car to reach the single road in and out of the parking lot. In a matter of seconds, his Camaro was over 100 miles per hour and he was approaching the street that the single lane road ended on. Ethan cranked the wheel to the right and drifted about 10 feet as his wheels left long black tire marks on the pavement. Ethan shifted down to fourth gear, over-revving his engine to get his speed up again. He shifted into fifth and finally sixth gear as he left the other three cars in his dust. There were a number of turns ahead to get to the onramp to the highway. About 5 miles of city driving to navigate through before he could get to the open highway where he could really open up and get his car to a top speed of just over 200 miles per hour.

Ethan cranked his wheels to the left and drifted for over 20 feet before entering the intersection of his next turn. He straightened out his car and stomped on the gas. The other cars in the race were a full 12 – 13 seconds behind him. He had a very comfortable lead as he navigated the next few turns heading for the on-ramp.

Ethan looked down at his dashboard and saw his speed just over 120 miles per hour. The on-ramp was approaching fast. Ethan hammered on the brakes at the last second and entered the on-ramp to the highway at 80 miles per hour. He had to keep them applied as there was a car in front of him forcing him to reduce his speed to a calm 30 miles per hour. The on-ramp was a single lane and Ethan could not do anything but drive normally until on the highway.

“Damnit!” he grumbled as he hit the steering wheel with the palm of his hand.

It was only a matter of seconds before the three other drivers were right on his bumper.

Ethan waited as the car in front of him entered onto the highway. He shifted gears and pulled into the passing lane and in a matter of seconds was up to 80 miles an hour. A few more seconds passed as he watched his speed climb to over 120 miles per hour. There was a bit of traffic ahead of him so he was unable to hit the nitrous until he was clear of any cars ahead.

With precision accuracy and speed he weaved through the traffic easily. Passing the cars and semi-trucks in a blink of an eye. The highway section of the race was just over 20 miles long. It gave the racers a chance to let their cars race at top speed, and if the highway was clear, to use their nitrous and reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour. This stretch of the race was critical for gaining a substantial lead.

The last 10 miles of the race was through the busy streets in the city. And one wrong move in the city could lead you to a crash, or being spiked by the cops and their street racers division. The cops drove high powered Shelby Mustangs with lots of extras under the hood. The cops were trained and exceptionally skilled drivers. The last 10 miles was always a challenge and caused many drivers to go off course to try and shake the fuzz.

Ethan cleared the traffic and once again had a comfortable lead from the other drivers. He passed the last car on the highway and placed his left-hand dead center of the steering wheel. His right hand reached to the center console and pushed the cool blue glowing button.

His head snapped back as the nitrous sprayed into the engine. The car quickly hit over 200 miles per hour. As his Camaro raced down the open highway the exit ramp he needed to hit was only a few miles away. He very slowly moved his right hand from the steering wheel to the nitrous button. His thumb hovered over the button until the last possible second he hit it again. The car started to slow down quickly. The exit ramp was less than ¼ mile away when he slammed on the brakes causing a long black skid mark from his tires.

He raced on to the exit ramp at over 70 miles per hour. Drifting around the curve with exceptional skill as he had done many times before. He shoulder checked and saw traffic coming and knew his only chance was to floor it now and cut off the traffic on the city street.

He skidded into the city streets at 90 miles per hour. The rear of his car sliding back and forth as he tried to maintain control. Although dangerous and risky, this maneuver placed him well into first as the other 3 drivers had to wait for a break in the traffic for them to merge and navigate the city streets.

Ethan had a very comfortable lead as he quickly sped through the city streets. Navigating his turns as he followed the predetermined course. He flew by the bus depot at just over 100 miles an hour when he saw the red and blue lights in his rearview mirror.

  “Shit!” he yelled to himself.

He slammed on the parking brake, cranked the wheel and slid into a hard right turn. He had now fallen off the course and he quickly took a few more turns trying to shake the Ford Shelby Mustang. The cop following him had skill. Every turn Ethan took the cop was right behind him.

Ethan reached down for the radio sitting between the seats.

“I need help! Shelby on my tail! I’m 3 blocks South West of the bus depot. Need to get rid of this guy!” he shouted into the radio.

“Turn south by the old printing company. Once past it takes a hard left and floor it. We have you covered!”
said the voice on the radio

Ethan slammed the gas pedal down. He made a sharp skidding right turn at the old printing building, followed by a hard left. He slammed the gas again as he sped down the long and narrow road. He had about a 4 second lead on the Shelby and was hoping he was covered as he was running out of road and time to get back to the race.

A second later he looked in his rearview mirror to see the Shelby had spun out of control and had flipped on its roof. The lights went out as Ethan slowed down and turned right back on to the racecourse.

He took one final left and was on to the single lane that would take him to the parking lot. He slowed his car down to 50 miles per hour, then 40 and by the time he reached the parking lot he cruised in at just over 20 miles per hour.

He pulled up by his crew and got out of the car.

Hunter, his older brother and his fiancée Octavia were the first to congratulate him on his win. One of the Corvette’s drove into the parking lot. Liam, Dean and Blake came over to pat him on the back and congratulate him as well.

Ian walked over to Ethan and his Camaro and handed him the 4 bundles of cash.

  “Congratulations! Another victory!” said Ian.

“Thank you!” he said as he took the money from him.

Ethan walked away as everyone continued cheering and congratulating him on his win.

  Chapter 2 – Celebration

“Let’s head to the club for a well-earned celebration!” said Hunter.

Ethan and his crew got into their cars and headed towards his brother’s club. His brother owned the nightclub and they always celebrated in the private office overlooking the club down below. It was a Friday night, so they knew the club would be rocking and packed to capacity.

Ethan, his brother Hunter and his fiancée Octavia, and his crew all arrived at the same time. They walked to the front of the line where the large black doorman stood.

“Evening Boss!” said the big man.

  “Evening James!” said Hunter.

The doorman opened the door and they all walked in and up the stairs to the private office.

They sat around the large glass coffee table as the private waitress came and placed all their usual drinks in front of them.

“Great win tonight bro!” said Hunter.

Hunter was a couple of years older than Ethan. Ethan had looked up to him for as long as he could remember. Hunter had been into cars for as long as he could remember. Hunter started his street racing career at 16 but had been working on cars and part of the crew since he was 12. Everything Hunter did, Ethan wanted to do as well.

It was only natural that Ethan became a street racer. Ethan and Hunter were close. And together they were the most notorious street racers in all of LA.

“Thanks!” said Ethan as he took a large sip of his beer. “When’s your next race Bro?” he added.

“Tomorrow night! 50 K entry!” he said.

“Nice! You got this! You always do.” He said encouraging his brother.

Ethan stood up and walked to the window to look at the packed club below. He could hear the muffled music from the DJ as well as the vibrations as he stood there looking over the crowd.

“What do we have here?” he said looking at the bar seeing two very attractive young ladies sitting at the bar.

Hunter walked up beside him and looked over the crowd.

  “Where?” he said.

“At the bar. Redhead, gorgeous!” he said.

“I see her! I think you best see if she needs another drink!” he said encouraging Ethan to go talk to her.

“I believe you are right.” He said as he walked towards the door. He gave his half-empty beer to the waitress just before he exited the private room.

Hunter watched as he saw his brother walk through the crowd towards the bar.

Ethan walked up beside the short redhead and gave her a quick look. Her V-neck top showing off her large breasts nicely. Her mid-thigh black skirt, her fishnet stockings and her hair and make-up done perfectly. She was gorgeous from head to toe and Ethan wanted her.

The bartender came over to Ethan immediately.

  “Yes, Sir!” said the bartender.

“A beer and whatever the lady is drinking!” he shouted over the crowd.

The bartender retreated and returned with Ethan’s beer and placed a crantini in front of the lady. The bartender retreated.

“Hi, I’m Ethan.” He said as he extended his hand to shake hers.

“Brooke!” She said as she shook his hand. “Thank you for the drink. It’s very kind, however, just to be upfront, I am not here to look for guys. I am here with my best friend who will be back any second.” She explained attempting to dismiss him before he got his hopes up.

“Brooke! What a beautiful name! Thank you for the warning.” He said as he smiled at her.

She looked at Ethan, noticing his full sleeve of tattoos on both arms, his steely eyes, his dark hair and his tall 6’5” appearance. He’s gorgeous, however, she had plans and goals which did not include dating at this time. She thought there would be lots of time to date and settle down a few years down the road.

“I haven’t seen you here before. I just wanted to welcome you to my brother’s night club personally.” He said putting on his charm.

Just then Brooke’s friend Paige appeared.

“Man, there is even a line up in the washroom!” she said to Brooke as she sat beside her.

Ethan noticed there was no drink in front of Paige and snapped his fingers and pointed to Paige. The bartender appeared a moment later with a beer that Paige had been drinking all night.

“Thank you!” said Paige. “How do you do that? Snap and beer arrives?” She asked impressed by his ability to get stellar service from the bartender.

“My brother owns the place.” He said. “I’m Ethan. Would you ladies like to come upstairs to our private lounge and have some drinks with me?” he asked.

“No! Thank you!” Said Brooke quickly. “That is a very generous offer, but we will be leaving soon. Perhaps next time?” she said attempting to be as polite as possible.

“I will hold you to that. Until next time!” he said with a charming smile.

Ethan signaled the bartender one more time. The bartender appeared and Ethan leaned into him so only the bartender could hear.

“Drinks for the two ladies are on me for the rest of the night!” he said into the bartender’s ear.

“Ladies, please enjoy your evening. Next time you come – tell James the doorman that you are guests of mine, and you can skip the lineup!” he said as he grabbed his beer and returned to the private office upstairs.

Ethan entered the office and Hunter wasted no time sending a cheap shot.

“Struck out bro?” he said laughing.

“Not really. I have planted a seed and now it needs to be harvested! She is gorgeous and is likely tired of the lame pickups at bars. She needs charisma, charm, a knight in shining armor. She will be mine. It’s just a matter of time.” He explained as he sat down and had a sip of his beer.

“I wish you luck little brother! She is a beautiful lady!” he said.

They continued to talk about the race and future street races coming up in the next few days. Ethan continued looking out over the crowd and watching Brooke and Paige at the bar. He could not keep his eyes off of her. Her hourglass figure, her large breasts, and V-neck top were keeping his eyes glued to her.

  Chapter 3 – The Rescue

It was 2 AM and the bar was shutting down. He saw Paige and Booke start heading for the door. Ethan knew the parking lot was not the safest place after the nightclub closed down. He decided to go for a walk to make sure they got to their car ok.

He left the main entrance to the club to see that Brooke and Paige were already at their car, but there was a man with them, and they did not look comfortable with him being there.

Ethan walked over to the car quickly.

“Hey Brooke, everything ok?” he asked like the
y had been lifelong friends.

Brooke froze. She didn’t know what to do nor say.

“Beat it, buddy! This is a private party, and you weren’t invited!” said the man.

“Oh, but I am invited!” he said boldly. “Ladies, are you wishing this fellow to leave you alone?” he questioned them.

Ethan saw the look of fear on both of their faces and Brooke nodded up and down.

“There you have it. It appears you are not invited to this party. Now move it!” he said in a cold stern voice.

The man moved to within an inch of Ethan’s face and looked him straight into his eyes.

“And who’s going to make me? You?” he said over-confidently.

The girls jumped back as they saw Ethan head butt the man breaking his nose with his forehead. Brooke turned and covered her mouth trying not to see the man’s bloody face. The man staggered back and Ethan delivered three quick punches rendering the man unconscious in the parking lot.

A moment later, James, the doorman came running up to Ethan.

  “Everything ok boss?” asked James.

“Dispose of this waste would you?” replied Ethan.

James leaned down and picked up the man and carried him over his shoulder. He disappeared around the side of the club and out of sight.

“Thank you! That guy tried to pick us up in the bar and we kept saying no! We didn’t expect him to be waiting for us outside.” said Brooke, still trembling.

“You’re welcome. Are you ladies ok? Did he hurt you?” asked Ethan.

“We’re fine. Just a little shook up!” Replied Brooke. “I don’t know how to thank you! I am scared to think what might have happened if you didn’t come along.” She added.

“I can think of a way. Let me take you to dinner. Tomorrow night!” he said with a smile.

Brooke was not ready for such a quick come back. And she certainly was not ready for a date. But how could she say no after what he had done. Her mind argued with itself for a moment while she tried to find a good reason to say no.
