DARK EDGE (A Devil Call MC Book) (Talon & Everly Book Seven) (Devil Call MC - Talon & Everly 7) Page 2

by Ana W. Fawkes

Layne came into the clubhouse, a leather cut in his hand. It was Jagg’s leather cut. They were going to burn the cut. I don’t know why, but that’s what I overheard Layne and Talon talking about.

Layne lifted the cut up and nodded. “Time to ride.”

Nobody spoke and they followed Layne outside. Talon and I were the last to go.

Outside in the lot there was a hearse and a collection of motorcycles. Everything was put in place in such a beautiful and sad way. It was almost poetic darkness the way the entire thing was handled.

Layne put the leather cut on the casket in the back of the hearse and then shut the door. He walked to the front of the hearse where his motorcycle was. He led the way, riding alone since he didn’t have a VP anymore.

The rest of the motorcycles were fired up, their thunder rumbling loud.

I was on the back of Talon’s motorcycle, and as we left the lot of the clubhouse, my heart started to race. It seemed hell waited everywhere we went. There was no such thing as safe anymore. And I knew how this was going to end. There would be a lot more death. So much more blood. The scary part was I didn’t know who would die. Nobody did. The mystery of life that makes it precious.

As we rode through Brocke, I felt like the entire world was silent. Like everyone watched us, understood what this meant, and felt the same fear we all felt. None of that was true. People in town didn’t understand the full aspect nor impact of Devil Call MC. Which was by design, but it didn’t help in times like this.

The cemetery was in a calm, slightly wooded area. The gates were open, leaving me with an eerie image. Going through the cemetery gates was a lot like going through the gates to the clubhouse, as though there were some subtle premonition of what the life would eventually become. A sad and twisted death.

The motorcycles stopped in a line behind the hearse. Layne went to the back of the hearse and opened it. He pointed to Buzzy and Austin to help him. The three of them carried the black casket with the leather cut on it to the freshly dug grave. There was no headstone and nothing to indicate the funeral other than the hole in the ground. Once they placed the casket down, Buzzy and Austin stepped back. Layne stood there with his hands balled into fists. After a minute, he reached forward and grabbed the leather cut.

That’s when the rest of the MC took their turn, approaching the casket, in silence, not touching, not doing anything but just standing there for a few seconds and then walking away. There didn’t seem to be much honor in the dark ride, and that I figured was because of what it meant. How close it touched home to the guys because all it took was one bullet to end it all. The bullet that took Jagg’s life could have taken any of theirs. The bullet wasn’t meant in revenge or necessity… it just happened. Because Vaughn was confused and hurt.

I didn’t go near the casket. I wasn’t told to and even if I was, I was too afraid.

Talon came back to me, black sunglasses hiding his eyes. He got on his motorcycle and started it. We all sat there, waiting for Layne. When he rode, everyone else did.

To my absolute shock, the ride back to the clubhouse didn’t come with any surprise fights. It seemed - at least for the moment - that everything inside and outside of Brocke was silent.

But the cost to make that happen was so great.

Once back at the clubhouse, my heart jumped when I saw the gates open and then close. It reminded me of the cemetery. There was no such thing as freedom right now. We had wars now… and I was part of it.

Talon kept his hand tightly locked with mine and we walked by the bar. He reached out and grabbed two beers. He kept walking, taking me with him. The rest of the clubhouse started to come back to life. How quickly these guys were able to hit a switch and let everything go. The crack of a pool stick to the cue ball to start a game. Music slowly turning up. The clank of beer bottles. The smack of shot glasses to the bar.

  Life returned to normal.

But I could feel it radiating from Talon that nothing was normal.

We went straight to his room. He slammed the door shut and locked it.

I stood in the middle of the floor, my back to him. There was something wild in the air. Fear? Anger? Hate? Love?

“This is all going to end soon,” Talon said.

“I believe you when you say that,” I said. I looked back. “I just don’t know what it means. Who lives? Who dies? What burns? What stands?”

Talon swallowed hard. He put both drinks down on his dresser. He approached me and gently touched my waist. He nuzzled his nose into my hair and found my neck. His lips ran up to my ear.

“I can’t predict the fucking future,” Talon whispered. “Other than me burying my cock inside you right now. Everything will burn someday, beautiful. It’s between now and then what matters.”

Talon flicked his tongue at my ear. He kissed my cheek and slid his lips along my cheek as I turned my head. I strained to meet him, desperate for the taste of his mouth. That wild fucking tongue that could speak so bad and then cut between my legs and make me come so hard.

We kissed, skipping the romantic pleasantries of our lips just touching, and went into a deep and hot kiss. I reached up and back, my fingers digging into his hair, needing him more by the second. His right hand slid around my body and up, going right for my breast. He cupped, squeezed, leaving my knees trying to give way.

Talon broke the kiss and stared into my eyes. “Any of us, beautiful. Any of us, at any time. It doesn’t matter whether we wear a cut or a suit and tie. Time is time. Life is life. Death is death.”

Christ, Talon was killing me. He was beautiful, bad, and romantic.

I moved to my toes and kissed him again. He kissed me back, his left hand inching up my back until he touched the zipper of the dress. He pulled slowly, each second feeling more torturous than the previous.

The zipper went down to my lower back. His hand then cut into the dress and moved around, his strong fingers spreading along my belly. He pulled, bringing me tight to him, letting me feel his hardness. His hand on my breast moved around to my back and up. And he started to strip me of the dress. Using one hand only, he stripped the dress down my right shoulder first. Then he went to my left shoulder and did the same. His left hand remained at my stomach, palm pressing hard against me.

When he finished easing the dress down my arms, his hand then touched my hair. He collected it and put it over my right shoulder, exposing my neck for his enjoyment. This time he just kissed me there. The touch of his lips sent chills up and down my spine. It left me gasping and shaking, needing more.

That’s when his hand moved from my belly around to my back. He touched the top of my panties and then went right into them. His fingers slid over my ass and down. I instinctively opened my legs for him, waiting for his touch. When it came, I let out a whimper. The tips of his fingers glided along my wetness, then curling, pressing, gently penetrating me.

Talon kissed my neck again and quickly started to make a line of kisses… down my neck. Down to my back. And he kept going. Kiss after kiss, down my back, his hands slowly worked their way to my sides. He held me and started to bend me over. I hurried to let the dress off my arms and then reached for the sides and inched it down my body. All the while Talon kept kissing me. His sweet kisses to my neck were replaced with the feel of his tongue slicing left to right, the feel of his teeth, his anger and rage building all for the need of sexual appetite.

When I stepped out of the dress I reached for the bed. My ass stuck out. I was bent over, my pussy exposed to him. Talon put his hands to my ass and spread me. His fingers dug into my flesh, his thumbs touching the edges of my wet folds.

His lips and tongue continued and didn’t stop until they found comfort as he licked my center. The feeling was electricity through my entire body. I cried out and jumped forward. But I wasn’t going to escape Talon. His hands moved around to the front of my legs and pulled, forcing me back to his mouth. Talon groaned and his tongue tasted me again. Up and down, cutting with a beautiful
precision, leaving me gasping for air. He suckled at me, taking my folds into his mouth, the tip of his tongue reaching my clit.

I thrust back at him, crying out. I bent over even more for him. Wanting and needing him. His hands trusted me as he slipped them back to my ass, pressing, kneading, opening me up wide with his thumbs again. His tongue going wide, circles, shapes, while flickering and tasting, bringing me to an edge I wanted to be thrown from. I couldn’t control my body as it started to rock left to right. The surging need was greater than anything else happening inside or outside of the bedroom.

Talon slid his right hand around and touched my mound. One of his fingers moved down and he pulled back, getting to my clit. The second he touched me there, his fingers mixed with his bad boy mouth treating me so good, I started to come. It attacked me at once. I bent my knees and cried out again, but Talon wasn’t done yet. His thumb and mouth kept me going, easing me through my orgasm as I ached and throbbed.

But as quick as he started was as quick as he ended.

He left me dancing on a thin piece of string as I shook, trying to stand. I looked back and saw him tearing his clothes off. Leather cut thrown to the floor. Black t-shirt up and over his head, showing off his chiseled and perfect body. And then he dropped his jeans, stepping out of them, his hand wrapped tight around the root of his thick cock, dead set on my body again.

As he came at me, I already started to groan, knowing exactly how it was going to feel. I was still so tender, burning with wetness.

Talon put his hand to my lower back and hissed when he rubbed the head of his cock against me. Feeling my wetness, the uncontrollable urge I had for him. He then thrust once, fucking hard, and pounded into me. I started to fall forward but he was right there, his hands grabbing my waist, keeping me steady.

Talon then started to fuck me so hard and perfectly. He pushed and pulled me as he pumped at me, slamming every beautiful inch of his cock inside me. Part of it made me wonder if he was still thinking of what happened with me and Layne. How close we’d come to fucking but Layne pulled back and I realized how stupid it would have been. If this was some kind of punishment, then the crime was worth it.

Each hard pound of his body was echoed with the slapping noise of our bodies colliding together over and over. My hands were sprawled across the bed, trying to hold the sheets, but they kept moving. My face turned sideways, hair in my eyes, in my mouth, almost unable to fucking take a breath of air. But I didn’t care. I couldn’t stop Talon and I didn’t want him to fucking stop.

One hand slid up my back to my shoulder and he pulled, making sure I came back hard at him. His other hand slid around my body, his fingers seeking out to tease my clit some more. He knew the effect of touching me there, how easily it made my pussy tighten, and how quickly I could come. And as I squeezed at him, I felt his body tightening. He hisses became grunts and those grunts made him thrust even harder, but only for a few seconds before he let go.

I cried out as he came inside, his beautiful cock pouring deep inside me.

If this was the rest of my life - dark ride and all - then it was worth it. It was all worth it. As long as Talon wasn’t killed.

  (Talon)

I helped Everly into the shower. She favored her leg a little and damn if it didn’t make me feel just a little guilty. Normally I wouldn't give a shit if I hurt someone by fucking them, but I cared about Everly.

Once she was in the shower, I stood there, watching the water collide and glisten down her body. My cock throbbed and started to get hard again. It was a painful moment when I left the bathroom, leaving Everly naked. Leaving her wet.

But there was serious business here. Maybe the most serious the MC had seen since Layne and I decided to take over Devil Call. Those were dark days back then. Too many deaths, dark rides, and too many secret enemies. A time that neither Layne nor myself should have lived through, but we did. We fucking did. We prevailed and I killed the former President and took the patch. The truest way I could ever think of.

I left the bedroom and found the clubhouse in normal shape. That’s how dark rides were supposed to go. We really didn’t grieve because it was a sign of weakness. And all things considered with that crazy asshole Vaughn, if we looked away for a second, we were fucked.

One person was missing from the party and I found him in the meeting room.

Layne sat at the head of the table, a bottle of whiskey in front of him. His eyes stared at the table. His face looked drawn and worn out. The guy straight up needed a woman. Not my woman, fuck no, but he needed one. Being hung up on the past was no good. Living in the past was like living with your back turned to the present and future. And if you can’t see, your just damn blind.

“Talon, sit,” Layne said. He kicked at Jagg’s chair. “Sit to my left.”

“Is this a promotion to VP?” I asked.

Layne looked at me. “What if it is?”

“Then I’d tell you to go fuck yourself. I’m not going to be a VP. All or nothing, Layne. You know how I do it.”

  “Okay then. Just sit.”

I walked to the chair and sat. Just Layne and I now. Alone. Two kids that grew up like brothers, and now what the fuck were we?

“Who has Jade?” he asked me boldly like I knew the answer.

“I think we both have an idea about that,” I said.

  “Rilen Lost.”

  “Yeah.”

“And Jony is put away,” Layne said.

“With a hit on him. It’s all in the works, Layne.”

Layne nodded. He grabbed the whiskey bottle and drank from it. “Death on my hands is not a good start to all this.”

“Image is overrated,” I said. “Jagg was a dick. I’m sorry he suffered, but he’s not suffering anymore. I’m not going to go into a pissing match with you either, Layne. But this thing with Vaughn… Jade… it all has to end. I need full control to make that happen.”

  “How?”

I thought about it. There was one simple answer. But it would set the MC back. “I have to call off the hit. I have to get to the prison and talk to Mutt. Tell him not to do anything to Jony. Then I have to find a way to get Detective John to let Jony go.”

“Christ,” Layne said. “That’s not good.”

“Not at all. Jony will know we set him up. But if we do things the right way, we send Vaughn to Jony and let them kill each other. Maybe we could get lucky.”

“One thing this club doesn’t rely on is luck,” Layne said.

“I agree,” I said. “What else can we do?”

“Who’s in charge for Rilen Lost right now?”

“I’d assume Jack,” I said. “He won’t stay standing for long, trust me. I just don’t get what’s going on with them and Vaughn, Jade, that whole mess. If they have her…”

“Who else would take her?” Layne asked. He looked right at me. “Honestly… who…”

I could see the look in his eyes. Trying to maybe shake me down a little.

A second later, the doors opened and in walked Buzzy and Austin.

They moved like all this was completely planned out. Getting me alone. Working me into a corner. Then drilling me.

Austin walked to the table and took out his gun. He just stood there. Buzzy leaned forward and put his fingertips to the table. That’s when I had all eyes on me. And I looked around with a grin on my face.

“This is what it’s become?” I asked. “Nobody trusts anyone, huh?”

“I don’t think it’s a matter of trust rather than a matter of truth,” Layne said. He then slowly stood up, leaving me as the only one sitting.

So I leaned back and put my hands behind my head. “So ask what you need to.”

“Or just tell us what you know,” Austin said.

“Hey, fuck you,” I spat at him. “I took shit for you, man. I saved you. I let you get a kill. And I almost fucking ruined my life over it. This shit…”

  “Talon,” Buzzy said. “Come on
”

“Fuck you, Buzzy,” I said. “What the fuck were all you doing while I was inside? You let it all fall apart. I went inside and things were moving along. We had respect, power, and we had fucking time. But I had to take care of business and the club fell apart. Just like it is now. You know why? Because your fucking focus is wrong. You think I’m involved with this Jade thing?”

  Nobody spoke.

“It’s matter of truth,” Layne said again. “Just trying to piece…”

“There was a picture of Jony meeting with Vaughn and Jade,” I said. “Something happened and they took Jade. Maybe it was a brilliant move on Jony’s part. To send heat to us. Which obviously worked. Now Jony is put away and we’re on the hook. But instead of planning, we’re attacking from the inside…”

I barely got the word inside out of my mouth before a zing sound came. By the time my brain and ears could process the sound, my eyes were given the sight of Austin’s head exploding. Blood and brain sprayed the doors. Austin’s body stood there for a second before crumbling.

I looked back and up and saw a bullet hole in the windows that lined the top pf the back wall. It was impossible to be outside in the lot and take that kind of shot. That had to come from a tall building… or a helicopter… or something like that…

I jumped up and tackled Layne.

Another two zings went through the room.

I took a chance and jumped up to see Buzzy standing there, staring down at Austin.

I ran across the floor and tackled him as another bullet went through the room.

It was then followed by silence.

  Complete fucking silence.

I waited there, rolling to my side, looking at the shock on Buzzy’s face. A foot away was the lifeless body of Austin. On the floor, on the door, was what remained of his brain.

Layne punched the floor. “What the fuck was that…”

“Vaughn,” I whispered. “He’s fucking serious, man. He’s going to keep coming at us.”
