forgive me."

  I finally understand.

  "Just…forgive me."

Just sit and pray and you'll find another way

  Forever, I will be true

George opened his eyes and he was back.

  "It was a lie."

  "What?" Tanya asked.

"Our relationship. She wanted me to forgive her because it was a lie but I didn't even hear her say that at the time. She passed on before I could forgive her."

Tanya sat in silence for a moment before saying, "Mom, loved you. She really did."

  "How do you know?"

"She told me about what happened a while ago…"

  "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because she didn't want me to tell you. She said it wasn't necessary."

  "So, she and Tommy…"

"It was a payout at first, but she told me that she did actually start loving you after the first few months of dating. She really enjoyed the dates that she and you went on and when she started finding out more about you, she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with you. She really did love you. How do you think she could afford the Mediterranean Cruise for your second honeymoon?"

"She told me she had won it."

  "She told me the truth."

"So she kept it a secret from me, but she ended up spending the money on our relationship?"

"Because she loved you. She knew how you would feel if she told you the truth, and there was no reason for you to feel like the relationship was a lie."

George looked up at his ceiling for a moment before saying, "Thank you, honey."

"Goodnight, dad." Tanya said, kissing him on the forehead and turning off his lamp.

"Goodnight, Tanya." George said. When Tanya was about to leave he added, "And honey, I love you."

Tanya smiled and said, "I love you too, dad."

A brief moment passed after Tanya closed the door before George said, "I forgive you."

And he fell asleep one last time. The end.
