He slid a finger under the full skirt that revealed a lack of proper panties. She gasped and sagged into him and he knew his Incubus pheromones released as his cock jumped and pressed against her. He placed a kiss on the side of her neck and bit the sensitive skin there, drawing another gasp from Felicia.

“Good for you. Then you'll know fighting is useless. I'm an Incubus, but I promise you, you won't want to fight.” He slipped a finger against her folds and he felt her body jolt. As expected, though she didn't pull away and her voice lacked conviction when she tried to prove him wrong.

“I don't want this. I won't do this.” A small groan broke past her lips as his finger slipped inside of her. Slowly he walked her up to the wall. She writhed against him, but not pushing away from him. Her words were a lie and he thanked God because he wouldn't get any power-up from her if she wasn't willing and he made it a habit to only take willing women, he was not the scum she clearly thought him to be.

He captured her mouth again and once more her body yielded against his, but her mouth did not open for him. He slid a second finger inside her core and moved both slowly in her body. He pulled back from the kiss and leaned beside her ear.

“Give in, Miss Ganon. You cannot resist the powers of an Incubus demon. I am a Master in pleasing women. I command respect, and offer pleasure in return. Everyone can be taught how to make their partner scream, even the smallest creature, like a grasshopper.” She whimpered and wrapped her hands in his hair. “That's it, little one. I can smell your desire for me. I can practically taste it.”

She pulled his head back and looked into his eyes. Lust burned in them and he knew his pheromones had nothing to do with it. He'd seen that look in her eyes before his demon side had kicked in. Felicia Ganon wanted him for him, and the power of that alone almost made him come.

  Chapter 5:

Her body moved on his fingers, riding them. His words had shot lust through her so hard she had almost screamed his name and come undone from the sheer sound of them. Incubus demon, of course. But she had always wanted him and had never been close to him before. She'd wanted a demon, all of her own volition.

His mouth captured hers again and she didn't hesitate this time, she opened for him and groaned as his tongue speared inside her mouth. Fighting for dominance in the kiss she suckled his tongue and he growled, breaking free of the kiss.

“You will obey me Miss Ganon. There will be no other way.” His voice was a sensual growl and his free hand spanked across her exposed ass. She flinched at the sting of pleasure that raced through her and reached between them to undo the brass button holding his trousers up. They slipped down his legs and his cock jutted free, thick and impressive.

Her body responded immediately to seeing him and when he pulled his fingers free from her heat she cried out, which earned her a stern look from him. He tore the gun from her waistband and eyed it. “You will not be using this tonight, whatever way your people found to make it work, I can assure you that it will not serve you this night.”

Greyston's eyes didn't leave hers and the sight of them devoid of color only fueled her, for some reason. He was done teasing her, she watched as he took himself in his hand and lined up against her body before slamming in to the hilt. Release built inside of her and his name tore from his lips, nothing had ever felt this good.

“You will not speak, unless I tell you to. You will not come until I allow it.” He punctuated his words by moving his hips in slow circles, torturing her. Her hands raked down his back in return, trying to prompt him to go faster, and he had the nerve to chuckle. “Now, now little Grasshopper. I will teach you how this is done.” Again his body moved languidly and she bit her lip not to urge him on but instead wrapped her legs around his waist, changing the angle and causing him to slide in deeper.

Her needy mewls filled the alley and her body thrust against his and she could feel him losing a little of his control. His thrusts became fast and hard, and she met him thrust for thrust. Release coiled like a band in her stomach and she became frantic, needing release and yet somehow her body obeyed his ridiculous order and her head grew dizzy with need.

“Almost.” He grunted and gave in to abandon, slamming into her so hard her back bounced into the stone wall behind them and she didn't care. Couldn't care. Her eyes were crossing from the pleasure and when he growled for her to come she did. An orgasm more powerful than any other ripped through her body and she screamed his name as she heard him shouting hers. Her first name on his lips in passion as her body milked his cock sent another orgasm through her. They were both panting when he pulled out and her skirts fell back to the ground around her legs. Her body was limp and shaky and when he backed up from her, it took everything in her not to slide down the wall in a boneless heap and the content coursing through her.

His eyes were green again when she looked back up at him. But his face did not mirror her own. She had never felt such pleasure and even if he was a demon she admired the man. He was good—somehow. He'd been Captain of the Guard for almost four years and she had read his deeds. Demon or not this man was not evil and sex like that paired with her fantasies for him had her heart cracking just a little, wanting more from him. Wanting to know how he could be such an anomaly and to hear him command her to release again.

But a frown was etched into his face and he was examining his forearm like it had grown a head. She looked at it carefully and all she saw was a black mark in the form of a scrolled “M” on his forearm. What could be displeasing him so?

As she watched him for a few moments, reality sunk in. Orgasm aside, she had slept with a demon and hadn't sliced him to pieces after. She'd enjoyed it and had temporarily fantasized about spending more time with him.

“Fuck.” Her curse was loud enough to shake him from his own thoughts and he grabbed her arm. There at the base of her wrist was the same exact marking.

His own curse was muttered and matched her own. He gently let go of her wrist. His voice was barely above a whisper and she almost missed what he had said. “Felicia, you’re my fucking mate.”

Terror gripped at her as she jumped backwards from him. She grabbed her gun off the floor and aimed it at him before he had moved. “Don't..don't move an inch. This is a weapon specialized with crystal and does not shoot bullets, as yours does. I promise you, it will kill you.” Felicia's voice wavered, whether from fear or hesitancy she wasn't sure.

Greyston growled and ran a hand through his sex mussed hair. Her hands shook as he took a step closer. “Felicia, let me explain. I cannot hurt you, I wouldn't have hurt you anyway. You intrigue me, and now you're mine.”

She didn't wait for him to say more. Her finger squeezed the trigger and a beam of pink light pierced the night. Greyston's howl of pain confirmed she'd hit his shoulder. She reached on top of her head to pull the goggles around her eyes for safety but they weren't there. They lay on the cobble floor and she left them as she grabbed the skeleton key for the steam bike off the ground, turned and ran away. Both from the man—the demon—and his claim that she was his.

Because for some reason, she sure felt like she was.

  Chapter 6:

The wind stung her eyes without her goggles, and she rode as quickly as she could through the cobblestone alleys to get to the tunnels that she could ride without worry of wind damaging her sight or being seen on a device none else knew existed.

Greyston’s voice repeated over and over in her head. “Now you’re mine.” The thought sent shivers through her body, and not all of them were bad. She had come undone back in the alley, but she had wanted him for quite a while. To actually be with him, to have his firm control shattered by her body was a delirious high she couldn’t understand. He was a demon and yes, she’d slept with them before to get rid of them, but she’d never enjoyed it and she’d never wanted more.

Not much was known about demons, in face she suspected only Master Agardawes knew everything, and he shared on a need to know basis. Which meant all Felicia knew
was that they were real, hidden from the eye of the city, lethal, and hers to kill. For years she’d trained before being allowed on a hunt with the men. Now on her first solo hunt, she’d lost the murdering demon and slept with another one.

Tears blurred her vision, a mix of anger at herself and pain from the wind. Throwing her boots into the cobblestone, the bike came to a stop. A cloud of steam rose in front of the bike. It always happened when the device stopped suddenly, and it didn't cause her any worry. Looking down at her wrist, she gazed at the mark. It had to be what Greyston said because she certainly hadn't marked her skin before. All she'd worn to mark her as anything prior was the small silver cog pin on the inside of her corset top—the denotation of the Alliance of Silver and Steam.

A crash behind her made Felicia jump off the bike and grab for the gun in her skirt waist, causing the bike to crash to the ground. She couldn't be bothered as she put her hand on the trigger and depressed it half way. Firing it against a human would lead to questions being asked about how it worked, firing it against a demon meant she'd survive the night.

She saw a movement behind a pile of strewn trash and walked to check it. A cat scampered out from behind the pile with a hiss and ran off. Felicia sighed and lowered the gun as she turned. The demon directly in front of her caught her by surprise as he slammed a curved nail into her breast and punched her in the side of the head.

The pain fizzled away to nothing as she felt the demon pick her up. Its voice was crystal clear, like any of the demons who had human form. “You're the female I've heard about. I will find out where those that hunt my brethren live and I will tear you down, one piece of flesh at a time.” Felicia's world went blank as the creature punched her in the face.

Greyson hadn’t moved or stopped staring at the damned mating mark on his wrist. He’d heard rumors that Incubi could be mated; that all lesser demons could, as they had a human form and half human tendencies. But he couldn’t believe it had really just happened to him.

He traced a finger over the slightly raised black mark. “Yet, here you are.” His voice was strained. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He had felt a connection to her anyway, and had written it off as admiration for her being a strong female. Then he had fucked her and his body had been sated, but craving more. Now he knew why. As his mate he, would never tire of her and without her his energy would be constantly draining. And while she was his mate as well, she had no need to be tied to him unless she felt the connection he did.

“Yes. She felt it, all right. Right up ‘til the point when she hopped on that steam engine bike and took off.” He grumbled at his own words and thought back to everything. Felicia was a member of the clock making guild, which meant that guild was more than it appeared. Did the Royals know? Were they all hunters? And how did they get their hands on technology they shouldn't have been able to control yet? Demons had access to all sorts of things humans had yet to figure out and somehow, the crystal powered gun and the bike insisted she had more tricks and tech up her sleeve.

Stalking down the path she took, he knew he needed to find her. To find out what she thought she knew about demons, and to try and convince her that he was a good person. Because all things aside, he could see himself falling for a woman like her.

The sun was beginning to rise and he forced himself to walk faster, to search for her scent in the air to find her. He hadn't slept this night and he doubted the Royals would take that as an excuse for slacking off or falling asleep with his sword drawn in court. Felicia could have gone back to the guild, but it was in the opposite direction.

“Unless she had a different entrance to use, so no one saw that clever bike.” Frowning, he ran a hand through his hair and closed his eyes. Demon senses were stronger than human ones, but London at night was a mix of ale and vomit on a good night. The smell of blood hit his nose a second after he found a trace of blackberry in the air.

Concern was like a vice and he had trouble breathing. Was it hers? Racing in the direction of the smells he stopped in his tracks. Her bike lay on its side, abandoned in the alley. Walking over to it, he squatted near the ground. Inhaling deeply to find the location of the blood, his own blood began to simmer.

That fucking shredder demon had dared to touch her and ail her. Had he smelled another demon on her and wanted to hunt Greyston down? He found the blood a few feet away and growled, his fists balling together as he kicked the pile of trash. “NO!” His roar echoed off the shambled homes and trash piles around him.

Moving the bike into the trash pile so that the collectors would take it, and to keep it safe he turned, eyes black as night despite the sun rising in the sky. Pink touched the horizon and he cursed. He didn't know how long the demon had Felicia, but he was going to get her back.

“Hang in there, Miss Ganon. Your mate is coming to get you.”

  Chapter 7:

The metallic tang of copper filled her mouth as Felicia slowly felt herself waking up. Her head was throbbing and she couldn't remember falling asleep. She swallowed again and once more tasted blood and went to touch her lips to see if they had cracked. But when she tried to move her arm, it only tugged at her side.

Frantic, her eyes popped open. She was in some sort of underground room with dirt floors and no windows to be seen. Her tongue flicked out over her lips and she tasted blood. Her hands were tied with rope to hooks in the wall. Panic filled her and bile rose in her throat as she remembered the evening.

Greyston Westham. Demons. Sex. An Attack.

The room spun as she yanked her head around and saw the disgusting red demon standing off to the left side of her. A sick grin was on his face and he was holding her crystal gun in his hands. She flailed against her bindings, knowing it was useless but needing to try.

“Why am I still alive?” Her voice was strong despite her fear, and she prayed to God that she could continue such bravado. The creature took a few steps towards her and she had to bite her lip to not flinch, causing more blood to trickle into her mouth. She hated the taste of blood.

“For years, you humans have hunted us.” It circled around her as it talked. A claw sliced down her cheek and she felt the blood drip. “We are growing tired of being hunted. Especially as you seem to have found better ways to actually harm and kill us.” The voice sneered and she choked as it wrapped its hands around her neck. She struggled and coughed as she tried to draw air into her lungs when the demon let go. “I want to know how.”

Could she withstand torture? She wasn't certain, but she knew that she would try. That her goal would be death, to join her parents before exposing what she knew. “You'll have to do a lot better than that.” She coughed blood as the demon slammed its fist into her face, rattling her and causing her to bite her cheek and draw blood.

“Your weapon is gone, you're bleeding profusely from the damage I did to your pretty, creamy breasts and you will lose consciousness from blood loss soon. When that happens, I will awaken you with some of my blood to heal you and we can begin again.” Once more it smiled, exposing the black spiky teeth, and not for the first time since her parent's death did utter hatred for this particular species take over her thoughts.

She felt as the claws slashed across her stomach and knew the spill of liquid over what remained of her corset was her blood. She would die as her father had, and she would finally be at peace, even if it meant never getting to know what Greyston would be like as a mate. The blood loss was overwhelming and the room began to flicker in and out of focus as her eyelids grew heavy.

A boom shook the underground room and she was barely able to keep her eyes open to see the cause. Greyston raced into the room and she heard the crackle of her crystal gun in the air. A shriek followed it and she wanted nothing more than to get out of the way of whatever had made it.

“You dared to touch my mate.” Each of his words was filled with a fury that unnerved her. “Death should be slow for you. But I don't have the fucking time.” He walked over t
o the demon and she watched through a heavy-lidded gaze as he picked the demon up by its neck and wrapped his strong hands around it, and choked the life out of the demon.

She saw the body drop to the floor and heard her gun again. She hardly traced the pink line as Greyston severed the demon's head from its body before walking over to the ropes that bound her and yanking them out of the wall.

Felicia vaguely remembered being impressed by his actions and when he caught her as she fell without the ropes’ support, he cradled her to his chest and pressed a kiss to her hair as she blacked out once more.

  Chapter 8:

Pacing her chambers, Felicia was a mess. It had been three days since she had been attacked—and then saved—by a demon. By Greyston. He'd been her knight in shining armor and had returned her to the clockmaker's guild. He'd been allowed inside because of his station as Captain of the Guard, and she couldn't help but wonder if he wouldn't have killed anyone who stopped him from being next to her.

When she’d come to, both he and Master Agardawes had been by her infirmary bed. After they both explained what had happened together, the Guild Master had left her alone, with a bloody demon. Her skin hadn’t crawled at the thought of being near him unsupervised. In fact, when he’d kissed her she almost felt the need to let him bed her again. And perhaps again and again.

But he was a demon. A demon whom she was irrevocably connected to, but he said she wasn't helpless and could ignore the bond. In honor of her parents memories, she sent him on his way, told him that she would never feel anything more than the call of lust an Incubus Demon could cause in a person. He'd stormed out and she'd felt on edge ever since. Now, she was a mess of bandages and had been confined to her quarters until the physician released her.
