Alec let his slacks fall to his ankles. Then he turned Vince’s body around. Now his partner’s buttocks were pressed against his dick. He sank his swollen cock into Vince’s ass. The cavity was warm and slick from his brother’s fingers. Vince’s body was bent slightly forward, no doubt leaning against Derek for support. After a few thrusts of his hips, sending his dick as far up into Vince as humanly possible, Alec felt the rush of semen leaving his cockhead. The juice bathed his lover’s internal flesh.
“I love you,” Alec whispered. “I love you so much, Vince.”
“I love you, too,” Vince replied. “I love both of you…with all my heart.”
Alec quickly pulled out, allowing Derek to turn their husband around. He supported Vince’s body, as his brother now made love to their partner.
“I love you, too,” Vince spoke again. “So damn much. Please, tell me who’s inside my ass.”
“We’re both here,” Alec spoke softly. “That’s all that matters. Trust us, Vince.”
“So tight,” Derek murmured.
While Alec continued to support Vince’s body against his own, he could feel the gentle rocking motions of his brother’s lovemaking. Damn, if that ‘blinding need for release’ Derek had mentioned wasn’t turning to a tenderness overtaking Alec’s heart. He pressed his lips against Vince’s mouth.
“I love you,” Alec whispered. “I’ve always loved you.”
“Alec,” Vince moaned.
“Yeah, Vincent, it’s me.”
“What about the game?” Vince asked.
“Baby, don’t worry about the game,” Derek said. “We’ve almost accomplished what you need.”
“Derek, you feel good inside me. I’m so in love with you. Fuck me! Fuck me hard!”
“I’m in love with you, too, Violet,” Alec said.
Alec expected to hear Vince telling him the same sentiment in return. When he didn’t hear the words, he repeated himself. “I’m in love with you, Violet.”
The only sounds that filled the air were his brother’s groans. Vince was pulling away. Alec couldn’t see his hands in front of his face, but he knew Derek had Vince beneath him on the floor. His brother was likely lying between their husband’s legs. In his mind, Alec imagined the expression of love no doubt on Vince’s face. He had seen Vince’s eyes stare at him with similar feeling, but it wasn’t the same. Even though Vince told him he loved him, he hadn’t heard what his heart longed for. I’m so in love with you, Alec. Alec imagined he heard Vince’s words as he pulled his slacks up from around his ankles.
“I missed feeling you inside me, Daddy,” Vince said.
“Baby, I missed it, too,” Derek replied.
Derek’s final groan signaled to Alec his brother found release. Then he heard the tenderness between the pair unfolding in the dark. He had tried to forge a bond with that same tenderness, but whatever was holding Vince’s emotions had stopped it from forming.
“I should go,” Alec said quickly. “Maybe I should stay at a hotel for a few days, at least until we sort all this out.”
Instead of waiting for Derek to turn on the lights, Alec felt his way in the dark to the switch on the wall. When the fluorescents overhead flickered on, Alec shielded his eyes from the glare.
When his eyes adjusted, he realized he had been right. Derek was lying between Vince’s legs as the pair lay on the carpet. Vince’s thighs were wrapped tightly around his brother’s waist. He could see their connection, as Derek’s dick was still buried inside their husband. Both men were covered in a sheen of sweat. The tenderness between them lasted for longer than Alec cared to watch.
“Get up and put some clothes on, baby,” Derek finally said after a couple of minutes, handing Vince his discarded dress.
“The two of you sure stripped quickly,” Alec spoke in a sarcastic tone. “Like I said, I should go. I can get a room in one of the hotels downtown.”
Alec watched as his brother stood up and started retrieving his own clothing from the floor.
“The three of us need to talk, Alec,” Derek said, slipping on his slacks.
“We talked tonight,” Alec replied. “Vince told me he loved me. He told you he was in love. I have heard all I need to.”
Alec turned his back on Derek and Vince, trying to stifle the tears he felt forming in his eyes. Damn, if he never cried. He crossed his arms, clearing his throat, hoping the action would quell his emotions.
“The three of us should go home. It is after eleven. My manager is here, and he can close up tonight.”
“I think you and Vince should go home. Like I said, I would feel more comfortable in a hotel.”
“Please, Alec, don’t go,” Vince pleaded.
“Vincent, I need to before I end up saying things I will regret.”
“Alec, I—”
“What, Vince? Is there something you would like to tell me?” Alec asked. “This is not how I imagined tonight would be. Even though I enjoyed the game, I know what Derek and I feel for you got out of hand. I realize I am reserved, and do not always say what I feel, but when I asked you to be my partner a week ago, that was from the heart.”
“Alec, I—”
“What, Vince?” Alec asked again. “Look, I know things got out of hand last Saturday night, too, but it was real, just like tonight. This is new for you. Hell, it’s different for me, too. I realize, too, it might seem like I am over reacting, but—”
“Alec,” Derek interrupted.
“Derek, don’t! Damn, if you don’t always use your dominance to get what you want, and it looks like you’ve got it hook, line, and sinker.”
“Alec, I can’t make Vince tell you he’s in love with you. Vince’s love for me is by his own choice. I can only encourage him to follow his heart…give him permission…the rest is up to him.”
“I have made many mistakes in my life, but I never thought I would question whether admitting my love for you, Vincent, was one of them.”
“Alec, I do love you.”
“Yes, but you’re just not in love with me,” Alec countered quickly. “I believe when you are in love with someone you should tell them so. That is the difference, Vince. I am your partner, no different from the commitment you share with Derek. Yes, we do not have the history, but time will correct that. Honey, it’s not just the words either. I am also hurt by the fact you will swallow Derek’s cum but not mine. My brother is allowed to rim you and I’m pushed away when I try. Those are intimate acts of being in love, at least by my definition. Now, like I said, I should go.”
When Vince didn’t answer, the silence stung Alec’s heart. He reached inside his slacks pocket, pulling out the velvet jewelry box. He fingered the soft fabric for a moment, before handing it to Vince.
“I was going to give this to you tonight, when we were alone. I want you to have it anyway. It will look good on you.”
Alec watched as Vince’s eyes met his own. He saw Vince’s heart reflected back at him. True, he didn’t see the history that filled Vince’s eyes every time he saw him stare at Derek, but it was more than just love. He wanted to believe he could feel it in Vince’s touch, too. He had to, because he felt his heart threatening to break.
“Vincent, you know my cell number. If you want to open your heart to me, I will listen.”
Chapter Six
“Warm enough?” Derek asked.
“It’s the middle of summer, Derek,” Vince said, feeling his partner’s arms wrap tighter around his body.
“I know, but sometimes you get cold after a shower, especially at night.”
“I’m fine,” Vince replied.
“Instead of opening up to my brother, I think it is me you need to be honest with first.”
“It’s almost two o’clock in the morning, Derek.”
“We’ve been up later on many an occasion.”
Lying in bed next to his husband, Vince curled himself backward against Derek’s body. Derek pulled him closer, tangling their legs.
“Are you in lo
ve with him?” Derek asked.
“Yes, but—”
“I won’t tell him. Baby, you have to do that. I will not violate our trust, not even for my own brother. However, I would like you to answer the question I asked you this morning in the bathroom. What is your definition of love, as opposed to being in love? Both of us heard Alec’s meaning tonight. Mine is simply what we share—that’s it…that’s all.”
“I miss him. This is the first night in a week I haven’t slept between the two of you. He likes to lie on his back, and I put my head on his chest. Then you spoon me from behind. His touch is so tender.”
“I’ve seen how my brother touches you.” As Derek spoke, he turned Vince onto his back, looking down into his eyes. “I enjoy seeing another man, even my own brother, touching you. Baby, I’ve already said I will never make you do anything you don’t want. If you want to end it romantically with Alec, then I will support that. Please believe me, though, if this is what you want, you have my permission and my love.”
“Derek, you already know my definitions of the different types of love. I don’t even have an answer for why I’m holding back, other than I don’t want you to think what I feel for him is too sudden. Derek, he’s been a part of our lives from the moment I met you.”
“And you love him just as much as you do me.”
“Yes, it’s different, but just as strong. Alec is different.”
“I know, baby. Well, I would hope he would be different. Just because we are twins doesn’t mean we’re clones.”
“Did he make it to the hotel?”
“No…he’s sleeping on the couch.”
“Shh,” Derek said, placing a finger on Vince’s lips. “While you were in the shower, he called. We talked. He cried. I have never seen my brother tear up since we were little boys. I convinced him to stay here. So, he’s asleep on the couch downstairs. I also need to say, while I support whatever decision you make, I also want you to be sure. I heard the words exchanged when the two of you made a commitment on Saturday. Commitments are broken every day, some in less time than yours. There is a man’s heart involved…two to be exact. I don’t want you to break it off now, and then decide a few weeks later you made a mistake. Then play another cycle of this with him. That is not fair to any of us.”
“I know he’s your brother…and I don’t want to hurt him.”
“And you are my partner, lover, and best friend. Baby, you come first. Just be happy, Vince. That’s all I want.”
Vince looked up into Derek eyes as his lover engaged him in a brief, but passionate kiss.
Derek slipped his arms beneath his back, pulling their torsos close. Vince loved the feel of Derek’s toned chest against his own. He also enjoyed the brush of his partner’s chest hair on his smooth flesh.
“Derek?”
“Talk to me.”
“I’m in love with Alec, I do know that. While I worry you might think those feelings are sudden, I’m also concerned about letting myself be anything but monogamous. I mean, what if I meet someone else…other than Alec…that I fall in love with, too? What if I end up with three partners? I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Well, if your track record is one every twenty years, then we’re good,” Derek replied with a smile.
“I’m serious, Derek.”
“I know. I’ve already told you the thought of other men touching you is arousing for me. I have never been jealous when other men have looked at you, because I know they see what I do. Baby, there are no set rules. If you fall in love with someone other than me or Alec, we will deal with it as a couple. I know you do not give your heart, or your body, away freely. The feelings you have for Alec are serious and real.”
“Have you ever wanted another man…besides me…to be committed to?” Vince asked.
“I knew you were going to ask that.”
Vince heard Derek’s laughter fill the room. Then he felt his arms being pinned above his head.
“Of course we’ve seen other men we’re attracted to. I never really thought about it, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have. All men are different.”
“I love you, Daddy,” Vince whispered.
“I know you do, and so does your body.”
Vince spent the next half hour being tenderly caressed in the arms of his partner. Derek’s hands and fingertips were warm as they glided over his flesh. His lover’s lips moved against his own. There was no lovemaking. Derek’s hands avoided the places that made Vince crazy with desire. Even when Derek moved between his legs, covering his body with his, they just kissed. Finally, he was spooned once more against Derek’s body.
Once Derek was asleep, Vince lay in the dark, hearing the even breathing of his partner lying close. His body felt flushed, and his lips tingled from the dominant kisses Derek had placed on his mouth. They had shared an intimacy that went deeper than sexuality.
Vince’s thoughts drifted to Alec, sleeping alone downstairs. He also remembered the last time his head was on the man’s chest, right before the three of them fell asleep. Vince had heard Alec’s heart beneath his ear while his lover’s hand stroked his back. Alec had been right, tonight had not turned out like any them expected. As he felt sleep claiming him, Vince imagined two pairs of arms holding him, instead of just one.
* * * *
Alec reached for his watch on the coffee table. Sighing, he laid it down when he saw the face read three o’clock. He was tired, emotionally drained, but couldn’t sleep. Lying back down on the couch, he tried to get comfortable, ending up on his back. As he stared at the ceiling, his thoughts kept returning to Vince.
After he had walked out on Derek and Vince in the office, Alec had left Infinity. He had driven around until after midnight. Finally he returned to the parking lot of the club, parked his vehicle, and called Derek. The two talked for almost an hour. The conversation ended with Alec breaking down in tears, and Derek convincing him to come home.
About thirty minutes ago, Alec had gone upstairs to retrieve a book from one of his boxes in the guest bedroom. If he couldn’t sleep, he rationalized, he might as well do something productive. The door to the bedroom the three of was supposed to share was ajar. Alec hadn’t meant to stare. However he found himself standing quietly, unnoticed in the hall, watching Derek and Vince in bed.
The two hadn’t been making love, just sharing an intimate moment. Alec couldn’t seem to forget the look in Vince’s eyes, as he stared up into Derek’s face, nor the tenderness between them. He had felt jealousy, but mostly hurt. Damn, he had wanted to be the one on top of Vince’s body in that bed. Sexuality was one thing, but he craved intimacy with Vince, too.
Passions had been burning since Saturday night, when he first felt his hands on Vince’s body. Prior to Saturday evening, it has been two years since Alec had been intimate with a man. For the last week, the sexuality he shared with Vince seemed full of passion and heat, but what Alec craved now was a slow savoring of the man he was in love with. That had been his plan for the evening. Now, that possibility was nothing more than flashes of imagined moments in his memory.
As sleep continued to elude him, Alec also thought about his life up to that point. He was fifty years old and felt inherently tired and bored with every aspect, all except his relationship with his brother and his commitment to Vince. Sighing, he ran his hands over his face, wondering if he even had a partnership with the man who meant more to him than his own life.
Just when he was debating about getting up to make some coffee, a light broke the darkness in the living room. Getting up off the couch, Alec followed the glow through the dining room into the kitchen. He saw Vince standing in nothing but a pair of boxers, holding a carton of eggs and some milk.
“I couldn’t sleep. Would you like me to make you an omelet, too?” Vince asked. “I think there’s some cheese and vegetables I could throw in.”
Alec took a seat at the bar, watching Vince retrieve a skillet from a lower cupboard.
“The omelet is fine,
 Alec said.
“Great, I’ll make two.”
Instead of sitting at the bar, Alec walked to where Vince was cracking eggs into a bowl. He leaned against the counter, looking at his lover. Alec reached up and brushed the back of his hand tenderly against Vince’s cheek.
“How about I just combine everything and make one large omelet we can share?”
“Or how about I take you back upstairs and figure out why you couldn’t sleep?” Alec countered.
Vince had begun to whisk the eggs in a metal bowl, when Alec covered his hands with his own. The tension between them burned hotter than the flame beneath the skillet on the range.
“I’m sorry…about last night,” Vince spoke softly.
As Alec continued to rub Vince’s hands with his fingertips, his lover stopped whisking the eggs. Instead of leaning against the counter, Alec moved behind Vince, pressing their bodies together. When Vince leaned into his touch, Alec circled his arms around Vince’s waist.
“I love you, Alec.”
“I know. I love you, too.”
Then just as suddenly as Vince had spoken those words, Alec saw his partner shaking his head.
“No, I can’t do this anymore,” Vince said. Turning to face Alec, Vince continued talking, “I am so deeply in love with you, Alec. I—”
Alec didn’t give Vince time to say anything else. Instead, he pulled his partner into his arms, pressing their lips together. The tension burning between them erupted into an inferno.
“I’m in love with you, too, Vincent,” Alec whispered against his lover’s parted lips.
Alec was now bending Vince backward against the counter. He could feel his partner’s erection against his groin, as his own pressed back from beneath his lounge pants. Alec quickly divested his lower body of the garment. He also pulled Vince’s boxers down, letting his husband’s cock brush against his own.
“Damn, if you don’t feel good,” Alec said, “but we’ve got to cool this down for a minute.”
“Why?” Vince said, as a moan escaped his lips.
“I don’t want to fuck you on the kitchen floor, that’s why.”
