Highlander's Sword: Paranormal Bear Shifter Romance (Clan Matheson Book 3) Page 20

by Joanne Wadsworth

She stirred, her eyelids fluttering open. “You’re insatiable.”

“Which is something that’ll never change. I want your bite. Have you enough energy to oblige?” He longed for her mark of claim and always would, intended to shower her with his own brand before he took her to his bed and lavished even more attention on her. Head dipped to hers, he swept his tongue inside her mouth and kissed her, until her breath became as ragged as his and their joint desire flared to a staggering height.

“Harder.” Deep panting from his chosen one. “I want it harder, Alec.”

So did he, only her full breasts captured his attention and he had no desire to neglect them a moment more. He rolled his tongue around one exquisite nipple, sucked the treasure deep inside his mouth and groaned as his need for her escalated to an excruciating level. No holding back. He surged into her below as he lavished her breasts, nipping, licking, kissing and devouring them. Hell. She tasted so delicious, and her pure womanly scent rose and swirled all around him. ’Twas pure torture, but in the most divine way. He’d need another taste of her down there, and soon if he was going to survive this day.

Half insane with need, he razzed his teeth over the sensitive flesh on the other side of her neck. “When I bite you, I want you to bite me in return. That’s an order.”

  “Aye, Captain.”

“Thank you.” He slid his palm around the back of her head and drew her mouth to his neck, and as she stretched and offered her neck more fully to him, he suctioned his mouth over her flesh and drew it deep between his lips.

Licking and sucking her neck, he trailed one hand down her belly and over the golden curls covering her entrance. He caressed her clit and she reached down and palmed his balls, her soft touch making his bear roar for dominance and buck into her. He growled and bit down and she thrashed underneath him and bit him in return, her channel clamping fiercely tight around his cock and squeezing with sheer perfection. Over and over, he came, in one long hot rush that sent his essence streaming thick and full straight to her womb and she bathed him in her sensual heat, her body clenching so perfectly around him and together, their minds deeply entrenched within each other’s, they flew to the heavens then soared far beyond.

“Oh goodness.” She went limp underneath him and he slowed his rocking as he gently brought them both back down.

  “Are you all right?”

Dreamily, she sighed. “I dinnae know where you begin and I end.”

“Which is as it should be.” He cupped her face in his hands and kissed her, moved his mouth slowly over hers and cherished her lips. The shower. He needed to at least get her into the shower then he’d take her to his bed. The hot water would refresh her, ease any discomfort he’d caused by taking her on the floor and before his bear reared up and made even more demands, he pulled out of her, scooped her up and opened the shower door. Lever flicked on, he stuck his hand under the water and once it had warmed to the perfect temperature, he swept her inside with him and closed the door.

Hot water pummeled his back and he lowered the pressure, turned her into the spray and smiled as she soaked in the steamy heat that swirled all around them.

“This is wonderful.” She wrapped her arms around his neck, fingers gliding through his hair and her nails scraping over his scalp.

“I love it when you do that. Your possessive touch makes my bear roll around for more.”

“He’s a greedy beast.” With her long golden tresses tumbling to her waist, she stroked down his back.

“He always will be.” He grasped her pert bottom, locked his gaze with hers and almost drowned in her beautiful blue eyes with their sparks of gold glittering bright at the edges. “Can you handle it?”

“I shall likely be just as greedy.”

“Show me.” He ached to be deep inside her again, the flare of need burning at the base of his spine and making his cock go rock hard once more.

“As you wish, but just know that I want it hard and fast again, with you filling me up.” She pushed him against the glass side, lifted one knee and rose onto the very tips of her toes. “Lift me over you.”

He lifted her up then brought her back down right over his cock, hard and fast and exactly as she’d commanded, the hot shower water sluicing down their bodies and her smooth skin rubbing slickly against his. Ravenous, he captured her mouth with his and kissed her, shared his hunger and soaked up the burning desire she held for him in return. Such an all-consuming need filled him and as she crushed her breasts against his chest and sucked on his neck, his cock throbbed and he pumped into her.

He got lost within her mind, her bite and body, her heart and soul all his and he savored the fierce peak of pleasure which sent them both hurtling to the stars. No more being alone. He’d found his chosen one, a woman who matched him in every single way, from her beautiful, fiery spirit to her ability to battle right alongside him. His heart expanded, drew her in and folded itself around her.

  Love, peace, and promise.

She’d gifted him with it all, and never had he ever been more grateful.

  She was his, always his.

  Chapter 14

On the high grassy peak of Ben Nevis, the late afternoon sunshine flaring overhead and the wilderness surrounding them far below, Annella stood in front of her warrior shifter as he wrapped his arms around her from behind. It had been three weeks since their return to Alec’s home at Ivanson and three days following their arrival, they’d spoken vows before his clan’s clergyman, her brother and their kin. A more beautiful day she couldn’t have asked for.

“Thank you for bringing me here,” she murmured as she stroked his muscled arms crossed firmly around her waist, their satchels propped against a rock near a plaque that declared James Robertson’s name and the year seventeen-hundred and seventy-one as the date he’d first scaled this tallest mountain in the heart of the Highlands. “I’ve never been so deliriously happy as I have since I arrived.”

A hawk swept the air currents high above then drifted down over the large pines below, the glistening blue-green waters of three lochs zigzagging the lower land and a misty mountain fog flowing up the rise and swirling all around.

“I intend for you to always be this deliriously happy.” He slid his hands underneath the fluttering hem of her silver threaded tunic and caressed her hips. “We are also all alone without another soul about.”

“Is your bear getting hungry again?” She turned in his arms, tugged his royal blue shirt over his head, skimmed her fingers across his tanned chest and tip-toed down to the ties of his tan leather pants.

“He’ll always be ravenous for you, as will I.” His golden shifter eyes heated to a smoldering hue, then deftly, he eased her snug black pants down her legs and tumbled her onto the lush grass. “Both here in my time and in yours.”

“I cannae wait to see my clansmen when we return.” Her brother’s chase for his chosen one would soon begin and if he needed her aid then she would be there for him. She certainly longed to see him capture and contain the one who held the other half of his soul, just as she’d captured and contained her chosen one.

“I’d rather see more of you right now.” He stripped off her tunic and kissed her with such searing seduction. “Mmm, all mine.”

Heavenly tingles raced through her body and across her skin then with heart-pounding need, she gave herself over to her mate and his fierce hunger, hers just as ravenous as his.

Their destiny was set, their souls and spirits united as one.

“Give me your child,” she whispered against his lips. “Right now. I wish for my mighty bear to have a son.”

“As you wish, although I have a confession.”

“And what would that be?” She moaned underneath him as he surged into her.

“We shifters can scent when our mate is at her most fertile and then again when she has conceived, and you my love, are already carrying my child.” One wicked grin as he thrust fully home and sent her careening toward the highest hea
venly peak.

A more perfect joining she couldn’t have asked for, and when she slowly came back down, she grinned as widely as her chosen one did. He was the most precious gift she’d ever been given, a treasure she’d cherish for all time to come, and when their child arrived, she would have yet another part of him to love and adore.

So much love filled her heart, too much to contain. She pushed against his chest and rolled him over, then with her joy overflowing her, she took him deep inside her body and made love to him all over again.

’Twas the most perfect union, one of the heart, body, and soul.

One she’d crave for all time to come.

  Always.

  Author’s Note

Clan Matheson descends from a twelfth century man called Gilleoin, a man who was believed to have been from the ancient Royal House of Lorne. The name Matheson has been attributed to the Gaelic words Mic Mhathghamhuim which means “Son of the Bear,” and the clan chief’s arms carry two bears as supporters. In the twelfth century, clan Matheson settled around the area of Loch Alsh, Loch Carron, and Kintail, and gave their allegiance to clan MacDonald whose chiefs were the Lords of the Isles. Clan Matheson became a large and powerful clan with a force of around two-thousand men, although by the middle of the sixteenth century they’d diminished greatly in size and influence due to the blood feuds raging across the isles at that time. This warring left them to possess less than a third of the original Matheson property on Loch Alsh.

It's also well known in history that clan Matheson also forged an alliance with clan MacKenzie during the middle ages, which meant at times the two clans fought side by side, yet also against each other when clan Matheson found themselves stuck in the middle of the feuding between the MacDonalds and the MacKenzies. Be sure to catch the next series titled The Fae, to see where things head in the future and how I’ve captured the alliance made between both the Mathesons and the MacKenzies to come.

The first series I wrote about this clan titled The Matheson Brothers, showcases the initial time of Gilleoin and features a large and wonderful cast of characters, and if you haven’t read the three standalone stories in that series, then I highly recommend you do.

This series titled Clan Matheson, is a spinoff series from The Matheson Brothers, which has allowed me to delve deeper into this clan and bring you stories that show both the blood feuds that raged at that time, and the alliances made between the clans.

It’s time for the whispers to reignite. Clan Matheson are the “Son of the Bear.”

This story is woven with as much accuracy to the period and locations as possible, although any mistakes made are mine alone.

Please feel free to search for any of my other works. I simply adore strong heroines, and have a ton of fun matching them with their honorable alpha heroes.

I love reading romance, but even more, I love to write it. My characters hound me, demanding their stories are told. I’m happy to oblige, giving them the romance they’re after, provided they can accept a little angst and adventure along the way.

In beautiful New Zealand, I live with my hubby and four energetic children, and adore using the stunning countries of Scotland and the South Pacific as backdrops in many of my books. One day I hope to travel further afield, to visit the Scottish Highlands, America, and everywhere between.

With several series underway, I write historical Highlander romances featuring strong heroines whose paths collide with their delicious Highland heroes, as well as fast-paced YA/NA fantasy romance, and heart-pounding romantic suspense.

There is no greater feeling than seeing my characters come to life, so come and join me...where romance meets fantasy and adventure.
