Ink Enduring (Montgomery Ink #5) Page 23

by Carrie Ann Ryan

Luckily, her men were set on finding each and every one.

“Love you, Maya,” Jake panted before he kissed her hard. He rocked inside her, his cock stretching her ass since he’d wanted to fill her there this morning. Earlier, Border had been in her cunt while Jake had fucked her ass, but now, Border was filling their lover while Jake kept at it.

She freaking loved all of these positions.

“Love you, too,” she panted. She squeezed her inner muscles and Jake let out a groan.

“Fuck, do that again,” Border called out. “Jake just squeezed the hell out of my dick when you did that.”

She swallowed a laugh as Jake reached between them and pinched her clit. She came then, her body shaking and going limp with exhaustion. Her two men followed quickly, and she found herself on her side in Jake’s arms while Border walked into the restroom. Before she could whimper that she needed him too, he came back with three warm, wet towels to clean them up.

That was their Border, all dominant and demanding one minute, super sweet and caring the next. She loved the dynamics of his brain, of his emotions. Hell, she loved him.

She loved him just as much as she loved the way Jake made them laugh before making them cry because he could find the sweetest things to say, the most precious things to do to make her knees go weak.

Each of them as a couple had their own things, their own way to be together, but it was the three of them as a unit that was perfection. She rested her hand over her belly, and Jake and Border slid theirs over hers.

“We’re having a baby,” she whispered.

“Hell, yeah, we are,” Jake said. “You think we can do this without fucking things up?” Though his voice was teasing, she knew he was serious.

“Yeah, I think we can try,” Border said dryly. “That’s why there are three of us. There’ll always be two others for when one of us drops the ball.”

Maya laughed and cuddled close to her two men. She’d never once thought that when she’d seen Jake in that bar all those years ago, she’d end up here. She’d never dreamed, never wished.

And yet, somehow, her dreams, her wishes had all come true.

Maya leaned into her brother’s side as Alex surveyed the house. “You miss the crazy?” she asked, aware that everyone in the room was working very hard not to walk on eggshells around him, but they were doing it anyway. At least they were trying to not shut him out. Alex was theirs, damn it.

“I missed you guys more than I thought,” Alex said softly before kissing her temple. “Thank you for picking me up.” He paused. “And dropping me off, too.”

She turned to him, surprise filling her that he’d say something about that at all. She opened her mouth to speak, but he shook his head.

“I think your men want to say something.”

She turned to them, love in her heart and eyes. She’d speak to Alex when he was ready, and thankfully, it looked like that might be soon. It had only been a few days since she’d finally told her men how she felt about them, and she took every opportunity to continue to do so. In those few days, her family had found out that she was pregnant because she kept blurting it out. Apparently, everyone was right, and she couldn’t quite keep secrets.

Well, she’d kept it hidden that she loved Jake for a while, but even then, a lot of people didn’t seem too surprised when the truth came out.

Jake was healing nicely. In fact, other than the slight bruise on his temple, he looked perfect. The little girl Border had kept safe had been moved to another family, and the case against whoever had killed her family had been pushed up. New evidence had come to light, and it seemed everything would be working out with that.

Jake was okay. He was happy.

Border was okay. He was happy.

They were okay. They were happy.

She sighed and moved toward her men even though they hadn’t beckoned her. She could see it in their eyes, though, they had something to say, and she might as well get close. She liked being close to them anyway.

Jake took one of her hands, while Border took the other. Jake cleared his throat and the room quieted. Maya froze, her heart thudding in her ears.

“So, since you’re all here, I thought I’d say something.” He looked at Border. “We thought we’d say something.”

Maya blinked but kept her attention on her men. What were they doing? The three of them had already told each other they loved one another. They were having a baby. There wasn’t anything else she needed. She thought they knew that.

“Maya Montgomery,” Jake began, “from the moment I saw you dancing in that bar, I knew you were something special.”

Her family laughed, but Maya couldn’t do anything but remember to breathe.

“I knew you from Jake’s letters,” Border added with a smile. “Every time he talked about you, I knew you were something…special.”

She licked her lips. Were her fingers numb? What about her ears? Could she even feel her ears? And why the hell was she worrying about things like that?

“You’re my best friend, baby,” Jake said.

“Don’t call me baby,” she said with a laugh, though it was more of a habit than anything.

“You’re my baby,” Jake said softly. He put his hand over her stomach. “You’re having our baby. You’re everything, Maya Montgomery. I’m so freaking happy you said you’d be with me. With us. I don’t think I could have become the man I am today without you.”

Tears freely flowed down her cheeks then.

Border wiped them away, and she cried harder. “You let me in, Maya. You didn’t have to. You opened your heart to me, and I’ll forever treasure that gift. I’m a better man because I know you. A better man because you’re in my life.”

They both knelt in front of her, and she swallowed hard. Other people sniffled in the room and her hands shook.

“Will you marry us?” they asked at the same time.

“Will you be my wife?” Border asked. “Will you be part of the three, part of our everything?”

“Will you be his wife and my everything?” Jake asked. “You’ll make him our family in truth and even though I won’t have the piece of paper, I’ll still be there. I’ll be part of it all. We’re asking you to be our wife, be our future. I have my brothers, but Border? He has us. That’s why he should be the one. Unless you want something different and we can do it that way.”

She opened her mouth to speak and nothing came out.

“Well, guys, you made the impossible happen—Maya’s at a loss for words,” Storm said from behind her.

She flipped her brother off without even looking at him, and the room erupted in laughter.

“Children present!” her mother admonished, even though she laughed.

Maya put her hands over her mouth before laughing, as well. “I’m going to have to learn not to curse or flip people off in every sentence when the baby comes.”

“You should be trying that now since my kids are here,” Austin added with a chuckle.

“Answer the guys already!” Miranda said, exasperated.

Maya went to her knees in front of them. “Yes. Of course. I love you both. I want to marry you. For now. Forever.”

They brought her to them, their large bodies surrounding her with their warmth and strength. Her family came around her, as well, shouting and celebrating, but she only had eyes for her men.

They’d endured their pasts, their pain, their angst and loss so they could have each other now. Without that, they wouldn’t be who they’d become, and their connection wouldn’t taste as sweet. They were hers, her men, her future, her everything.

“We need matching ink,” she blurted.

Jake cracked up. “Yeah, I think we do”

  “Dibs!” Austin called out.

She glared over her shoulder at her big brother. “I don’t think so, they’re mine. And if you don’t let me have my moment, I’m going to ask Shep to do my ink instead of you.”

  Austin put his hand over
his heart and feigned being wounded but didn’t speak. She turned to her men and grinned.

“This is going to be so much fun.”

Border looked at Jake, his eyes wide. “I’m a little scared at what we’ve unleashed.”

Jake nodded solemnly. “Thank God you’re here, because you know I could never handle her on my own.”

She glared, but instead of getting back at them for the jab just then, she hugged them close, vowing to never let them go. “Damn straight it takes two of you two handle me. I’m full of awesome.”

  “Full of something,” Austin muttered.

This time when she flipped him off, she kissed Jake, then Border, knowing that no matter what, she was a Montgomery, and that meant her life would kick ass.

And the three of them would kick ass together.

The Montgomery Ink series is an on going series. I hope you get a chance to catch up! Alex and Tabby’s story is next in INK EXPOSED. I’ve known their book was going to be a hard one for years and I’m not pulling punches with it.

Before their book, however, I’m going to dive into the Gallagher Brothers! Jake’s brothers called to me the first time I met Jake and I knew I had to write their stories. Starting in Sept 2016, I’m starting a brand new series called the Gallagher Brothers.

Jake’s brothers, Graham, Owen, and Murphy need their HEAs and I can’t wait to see what happens.

First up is LOVE RESTORED, Graham and Blake’s story. Graham is the eldest Gallagher Brother and has had some pain of his own. Blake is the new Montgomery Ink piercer and has a few secrets that might break them both. In 2017, Owen and Murphy will each get their books as well.

In November 2016, Alex and Tabby’s book INK EXPOSED will release ending the year of Montgomerys. But don’t worry, Wes and Storm will each get their own books in 2017. Plus there might be a few surprise novellas to come. And after Wes and Storm, Shep’s family, as well as the rest of the Montgomerys get their HEAs as well!

There are many Montgomerys, a few Gallaghers, and after that, a few secret surprises to come. Yay for bearded, broody, inked characters!

About Carrie Ann and her Books

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan never thought she’d be a writer. Not really. No, she loved math and science and even went on to graduate school in chemistry. Yes, she read as a kid and devoured teen fiction and Harry Potter, but it wasn’t until someone handed her a romance book in her late teens that she realized that there was something out there just for her. When another author suggested she use the voices in her head for good and not evil, The Redwood Pack and all her other stories were born.

Carrie Ann is a bestselling author of over twenty novels and novellas and has so much more on her mind (and on her spreadsheets *grins*) that she isn’t planning on giving up her dream anytime soon.

  Excerpt: Delicate Ink

From New York Times Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan’s Montgomery Ink Series

  Delicate Ink

“If you don’t turn that fucking music down, I’m going to ram this tattoo gun up a place no one on this earth should ever see.”

Austin Montgomery lifted the needle from his client’s arm so he could hold back a rough chuckle. He let his foot slide off the pedal so he could keep his composure. Dear Lord, his sister Maya clearly needed more coffee in her life.

Or for someone to turn down the fucking music in the shop.

“You’re not even working, Maya. Let me have my tunes,” Sloane, another artist, mumbled under his breath. Yeah, he didn’t yell it. Didn’t need to. No one wanted to yell at Austin’s sister. The man might be as big as a house and made of pure muscle, but no one messed with Maya.

  Not if they w
anted to live.

“I’m sketching, you dumbass,” Maya sniped, even though the smile in her eyes belied her wrath. His sister loved Sloane like a brother. Not that she didn’t have enough brothers and sisters to begin with, but the Montgomerys always had their arms open for strays and spares.

Austin rolled his eyes at the pair’s antics and stood up from his stool, his body aching from being bent over for too long. He refrained from saying that aloud as Maya and Sloane would have a joke for that. He usually preferred to have the other person in bed—or in the kitchen, office, doorway, etc—bent over, but that wasn’t where he would allow his mind to go. As it was, he was too damn old to be sitting in that position for too long, but he wanted to get this sleeve done for his customer.

“Hold on a sec, Rick,” he said to the man in the chair. “Want juice or anything? I’m going to stretch my legs and make sure Maya doesn’t kill Sloane.” He winked as he said it, just in case his client didn’t get the joke.

People could be so touchy when siblings threatened each other with bodily harm even while they smiled as they said it.

“Juice sounds good,” Rick slurred, a sappy smile on his face. “Don’t let Maya kill you.”

Rick blinked his eyes open, the adrenaline running through his system giving him the high that a few patrons got once they were in the chair for a couple hours. To Austin, there was nothing better than having Maya ink his skin—or doing it himself—and letting the needle do its work. He wasn’t a pain junkie, far from it if he was honest with himself, but he liked the adrenaline that led the way into fucking fantastic art. While some people thought bodies were sacred and tattoos only marred them, he knew it differently. Art on canvas, any canvas, could have the potential to be art worth bleeding for. As such, he was particular as to who laid a needle on his skin. He only let Maya ink him when he couldn’t do it himself. Maya was the same way. Whatever she couldn’t do herself, he did.
