Her brown eyes slipped behind heavy eyelids, and she slept soundly on my chest.

This was the most content I had ever been in all my long, long years.

I finally had my mate and nothing was going to take her from me.

  Dominic

My lip curled over my teeth in a satisfied smile, glad I exhausted Eden to the point she didn’t even want to come with me anymore. My little human mate had overtaken me.

Quentin, a business partner of mine, had been calling. Lucas had been emailing all to get my attention. Moss had people asking for me. And my clientele weren’t the patient kind.

But fuck them. I had my mate and I wasn’t going to willingly leave her side for anything. Well this, only to get the fuckers off my back. I asked both of them to show up at Leviathan so I could have them take over any contracts that were dropped off. Only if they were interested. Also I had to confer with Lucas to make sure my mate’s name was secure and off any bounty sites.

The creaking door to the Leviathan opened, with a hard push from me, revealing the dark lit bar. Moss immediately glared at me, his anger evident in the way his rubbed the cup in his hand. The glass creaked under the weight of his hold.

“Well, well, well. Don’t you look satisfied.” Lucas called out, drawing the attention of the meager crowd. The body behind Lucas leaned back in his barstool. Quentin, the Grade-A asshole, and snob of our homey group.

“Finally found a fuck?” Quentin asked.

  “More than that.”

“Oh yeah?” Lucas asked, a glittering gleam in his eye. I walked over to them. As I took my seat, the barstool groaning under my weight, I let them wait.

Moss stepped over with a tumbler in his hand, which he set upright in front of me. Carefully, he started to pour my whiskey.

  “Found my mate.”

Moss met my gaze; a muscle ticked in his temple. For a spilt second I wondered if I saw fear in his eyes. But this was Moss, who might own a mercenary shifter bar. I doubted me having a mate would scare him.

“Well, shit,” Lucas hooted as he grabbed my shoulders, shaking me slightly.

“Now we are all fucked. You know what they say … it happens in threes,” Quentin mumbled.
