“I’ll give you as much time as you need,” I tell her.
We’re both silent for a few moments until she says, “I could really use an orgasm right now.”
I start chuckling as she starts to undress herself, lifting my shirt off of her. I love that she’s not shy—not one bit. And why would she be? She has a body most women would kill for.
Men would kill for it too.
I twist her hair around my hand and gently pull it back, tilting her head. “You were made for me, you know that?”
Her eyes tell me that she does.
I kiss her lips and everything except her vanishes.

When Ryder wants to talk to the band, I wonder what the hell could be so important to pull me out of Tee’s bed at such an hour. Finding his house door open, I walk in and see I’m the last to arrive.
“What’s going on?” I ask, sitting down in the closest chair.
I look into each one of their faces and see the excitement in their eyes. “We got asked to do a six month tour of the US.”
I blink slowly. “No shit?”
Kidd and Jet are full of smiles. Ryder looks a little more apprehensive. He’s probably thinking about Lexi. The difference between Ryder and me is that he could always bring Lexi on tour with us, but Tee, she can’t just up and leave her job for six months. She’s worked her ass off to get where she is today, and I couldn’t expect her to give it up. I wouldn’t want her to.
“When do we leave?” I ask Ryder.
“In a month.”
Lexi walks in and offers me a friendly smile. “Hey Saxon.”
She’s pretty. She’s always been pretty, but I don’t feel anything anymore when I look at her. All I see is a good friend and someone I’ve known for a long time.
I lift my chin up. “Hey Lex.”
“I heard the news. I’m happy for you guys.”
I was happy too, wasn’t I?
Six months without Tenielle? Maybe I could fly her over if she could get a little time off work?
Or maybe—this was going to be the thing that she uses to push me away.
Chapter Thirteen
Tenielle
After Saxon leaves my bed I get ready for work. Dressed in a black pants, a crisp white shirt, and pumps, I grab my briefcase and an apple on my way out. When I arrive at the firm, I walk in and smile at Taryn.
“Good morning,” I say to her in a cheery voice, like I do every morning just to annoy her.
“Good morning Morning Alliance groupie,” she throws back, a smug look on her face.
I step to her. “What the fuck did you just say?”
I can go from lady to bitch in two seconds flat.
She places a magazine down on the counter, and a bad feeling settles in my stomach. There’s a pic of Saxon and me on the front, leaning close to each other at a restaurant. I should have known this would happen eventually, because that’s what you have to expect when dating someone in a band.
“Don’t call me a groupie again. Two of those men in the band are my cousins you fuck head,” I growl at her, quietly so my boss can’t hear.
She looks surprised by that bit of information. “According to the magazine, they are trying to identify who Saxon’s mysterious woman is.”
I blink slowly. Twice. “Get a life, seriously.”
Then I turn and storm into my office. Looks like I don’t need to tell my family after all, because now everyone is going to know. If I’m being honest with myself the only person I didn’t want knowing was my mother, because the second she finds out she will demand to meet Saxon and won’t get off my back.
Just like I had thought, an hour later my phone starts to ring, various family members trying to get in touch with me. I put my phone on silent so I can get some work done, then call Saxon on my lunch break.
“How mad are you?” he asks when he answers.
I grin. “I’m not mad, I just feel sorry for you because now you have to meet my mother.”
His laughter makes me smile to myself. “I want to meet your mother.”
He says that now.
“Just don’t judge me after you meet her. I swear that a few years down the line I won’t turn into her brand of crazy.”
“Babe,” he says, “nothing could scare me away from you.”
We’ll see about that.
“Do you want to have lunch?” I ask him, leaning back in my office chair.
“I’m at the studio right now so I can’t today, how about dinner though?”
“Sounds good.”
“I’ll see you later. Be good,” he says in a husky tone.
Yum.
We both hang up. I stand up, grabbing my purse, planning to head to the café across the road for something to eat. Then back to work.
This case isn’t going to research itself.
*****
“I read in a magazine that men don’t like it when women steal food from their plates,” I tell him as I do just that. I pop the fry into my mouth and raise an eyebrow. We’re sitting at a new restaurant that just opened up, some fancy overpriced place that Saxon wanted to try out.
He chuckles. “I don’t know about other men but I like sharing my food with you. I like watching you eat.”
Okay, that’s not creepy at all.
“I like watching you eat food that I don’t like,” I admit to him.
It’s a weird quirk of mine.
“Is that why you encouraged me to get the custard for dessert?” he asks, brows furrowing.
I steal another fry, chew and swallow. “Yes. Custard is disgusting—I can’t wait to watch you eat it.”
He laughs, amusement filling his eyes. “Never a dull moment with you, that’s for damn sure.”
I slide my foot up his leg until it rests on his thigh. Saxon stares at me under his lashes, his lip curving. I’m about to raise it higher when someone comes and stands at our table. I look over and see Simone, a girl I had a thing with a few years back.
When they say you should try everything once…
Well, I listened.
“Tee,” she says, eyes roving over my face. “How nice to see you.”
“Simone hi,” I say, turning to Saxon. “Saxon this is Simone, Simone this is my boyfriend Saxon.”
I don’t miss the quirk of his eyebrow at my proclamation.
I choose to ignore it.
Just because I haven’t admitted it to him yet doesn’t mean that I don’t know that it’s the truth.
It’s just a fact.
The two of them say hello and then an awkward silence settles over the table.
“Would you like to sit with us?” Saxon asks, clearly missing the silent signals I was trying to send him.
“Oh no thanks,” Simone says, waving her arms about. She’s a beautiful woman. Fair skin, black hair, red lips, and tattoos. The pin-up girl look. “It was nice seeing you again Tee. You haven’t changed one bit.”
When her eyes lower to my breasts, I see Saxon’s eyes widening. I lift my foot up to his crotch, and yes—he’s hard as a rock.
I roll my eyes.
Men.
“I’ll see you around,” I lie, waving bye to her. She leaves and I look at Saxon to see his eyes still locked on mine, surprise written all over his face.
“No fucking way,” he mutters, blinking a few times.
I grin impishly and change the subject. “How was your day at the studio?”
“Really?” he asks, raising both eyebrows.
“I was attracted to her, and we had a little fun is all,” I reply vaguely.
She was a friend, and we both knew the score. At least I thought she did. Things turned a little awkward afterwards when she wanted more.
“Now I have to worry about men and women?” he asks, shaking his head at me
“You don’t have to worry about anyone,” I admit, lifting my shoulders in a shrug. “Unless you don’t sleep with me soon.”
He grins. “I don’t want just
a casual encounter with you. I want permanence.”
I lick the saltiness from my lips after I finish another one of his fries. “You think this is casual? I’m still here aren’t I? Even though you’re keeping your dick from me.”
He laughs loudly.
“I’m glad you’re amused asshole,” I utter, lifting my glass of water and taking a big mouthful.
“Tee,” he says, lip twitching. “Soon, and trust me, I’m gonna take care of you.”
He damn well better.
I find myself smiling back at him and even take his hand in mine. This is something really different for me as I’ve only ever done casual before. I guess I’ve never let a man get that close to me. I’ve been giving away only the parts of myself I’ve been willing to part with. I’ve been scared to be hurt, to be vulnerable. Scared to lose power and control.
Scared to lose myself.
But look how I’m changing.
I run my foot back over his crotch.
Okay, maybe I’m not changing that much.
Chapter Fourteen
Saxon
I’m at Tee’s apartment the next night, but she isn’t home. When she doesn’t answer her phone, I ring Lexi who tells me Tee most likely went for a drink after work. I shouldn’t be surprised since she’s known for doing this. Also I wasn’t going to come over tonight, but I left the studio early so I could see her.
She’s like a fucking drug, and I need my fix.
After spending all day working there is nothing I want more than to relax and spend the night with her. I’m about to haul my ass to the bar to get her when she pulls up. She grins as she sees me, waving her hand.
She’s so goofy sometimes.
“You better not be drinking and driving,” I tell her with a scowl as I open the driver’s door for her.
She rolls her eyes. “I had one drink with a work friend.”
I hold my palm out and help her out of the car. “Is this friend male or female?”
“Does it matter?” she replies, narrowing her brown eyes. How expressive her eyes are. And they are now telling me she’s very close to getting pissed the fuck off.
“You tell me,” I tell her, kissing her mouth as soon as she shuts her car door. The kiss turns deeper within seconds, and soon I have her pinned against her car, her curvy body pressed against me.
Right where she belongs.
“You’re mine Tenielle, don’t even think about spending time with any other man,” I whisper.
She opens her mouth to talk, so my lips descend once more, cutting off any of her objections.
She’s a strong, independent woman. I get it. I do.
But she’s also my woman, whether she’s ready to admit it or not. I kiss down her jaw, loving the way her breath hitches when I taste her neck. “Let’s go inside.”
She nods her head. “You’re such a fucking caveman.”
“You love it.”
She scoffs. “I don’t know why I put up with you at all.”
We walk side by side to the front door, and I wait patiently as she unlocks it, running my hand along the side of her ass. “How about because you know once I get inside of you, it’s going to be worth the wait.”
As soon as we get inside, I pull her into her bedroom and strip her down. “I wrote a song about you today.”
She turns her head back to look at me, as I unclip her bra from behind her, then run my hands over the huge genie tattoo she has covering her back.
“What was it about? How you love to leave me sexually frustrated?” she says in a mock sweet tone.
I laugh at the look on her face. “Babe, I’ve made you come so many times. I just haven’t been inside you yet.”
“Maybe I’ll have to find a little action on the side, until you decide to fuck me,” she says, letting her bra fall down on the bed. I slap her now bare ass and watch it as it jiggles.
I don’t think I could get any harder.
“Not gonna happen,” I growl at her, bending her over so she’s on all fours. Sliding a finger inside her I find her dripping wet, just like I knew she would be. I make her come twice—once with my fingers and once with my mouth before I flip her over onto her back.
Her gaze doesn’t move from my hands as I unbuckle my jeans and free myself. “Do you have a condom?”
I remove the rest of my clothes as she watches.
Her eyes flare. “Don’t fucking joke with me Saxon!”
Too turned on to be amused at her antics, I spread her legs wide and brace myself over her. “I need to be inside you, now.”
“I’m on the pill,” she tells me. Something I already know.
“Can I?” I growl sliding myself against her.
“Yes! Hurry,” she replies, her voice needy and almost desperate. Gently, I slide into her, savouring this moment. She’s perfect—just like I knew she would be.
“Fuck, I love you,” I grit out as I begin to move. She lifts her hips and digs her fingers into my back, then pulls my mouth down to hers.
“Fucking finally,” she says against my lips, then resumes kissing me. My fingers play with her nipples, tugging gently.
Her kisses turn more frantic.
My thrusts turn more desperate.
She feels so damn good.
Perfect.
I love her reactions, the sounds she makes, the way she smells and feels.
She was made for me to love.
I grip her hips and slide into her once more when I feel her come around my cock, spurring on my own release.
Nothing has ever felt better.
I kiss her gently, then rest my forehead on hers. “You were made for me.”
She sighs. “I think I’m starting to see that.”
She gets another kiss for that.
“Can we go again?” she asks, grabbing my ass with her hands.
I grin. “Give me a minute.”
She smirks. “I’ll give you thirty seconds before I start without you.”
I kiss that smirk off her face.
Two minutes later and I’m hard and inside her again.
*****
“Do not come near me with that thing!” she growls, pointing at my cock. She’s wearing nothing but a pair of panties, standing in the kitchen with a cute scowl on her face.
I could really get used to this.
She walks to the counter to get her glass of juice and I watch as her tits bounce.
Yeah I could definitely get used to this.
“Hey, you’re the one who jumped on me three times last night,” I tell her, amused as hell. She was everything I’d ever imagined in the sheets, and the wait made it even better.
She’s a dream come true.
“I know,” she grumbles. “Death by sex.”
“What a way to go,” I reply, grinning. I go and stand behind her and wrap her in my arms. “Are you sore?”
“A little,” she admits, laying her head back on my chest.
I get hard.
She turns and narrows her eyes on me, an expression of outrage on her face. “No fucking way!”
I can’t help the laughter that escapes my mouth. “I’m on my best behaviour.”
“Saxon Senior isn’t!” she complains, her eyes darting down and up again.
Do I even want to ask?
Oh hell, why not?
“Saxon Senior?”
“Well he sure as fuck isn’t a junior,” she says, her lips quirking.
“You’re a treat babe,” I tell her, my body shaking with laughter.
I spin her around and capture her lips in a kiss when suddenly we hear the door open.
What the hell?
Chapter Fifteen
Tenielle
There is only one person who has a key, and that was meant to be for emergencies.
Fuck my life.
I grab a strawberry covered tea towel and cover my breasts just in time for my mother to walk right into the kitchen.
Her gasp echoes around the room. “Teniell
e Crawford!”
“Ummm hi Mum,” I mutter, clearing my throat. The woman clearly doesn’t believe in boundaries. She’s also the only woman in the world who can embarrass me this much.
“Is that a new tattoo on your stomach?” she asks in an outraged tone. Really? I think we have bigger problems at the moment.
“I’m just going to get dressed,” I tell her, a flush working up my neck. “Oh and Mum this is Saxon.”
Saxon clears his throat. “Nice to meet you Mrs. Crawford.”
“Is that right? Is that why you hadn’t met me until now?” my mother snaps.
She’s such a charmer.
Saxon throws me an uncomfortable look, begging for me to save him.
“Actually he wanted to meet you,” I tell her. “It was me who wanted to keep our relationship private.”
“Private? I’m your mother!” she says, crossing her arms over her chest. I sigh and hold my hand up for them to give me a minute, then run into my room and quickly get dressed, not wanting to leave Saxon with my mother for any second longer than necessary. When I return Saxon is sitting opposite my mother at my dining table, talking quietly. They turn silent when they see me approaching, watching me as I take a seat next to Saxon.
“That key was for emergencies,” I tell her, censure filling my tone. “I think you should give it back Mum. What you did today was crossing a line.”
“Layla—”
“I’m not Layla, Mum,” I tell her with an exaggerated sigh.
“I know that,” she replies. “I don’t like finding out who my daughter is dating from other people who saw it in some magazine.”
“Okay and I get that,” I say, trying to choose my words carefully. This was my mother after all, and I don’t like seeing her upset. “I’m sorry you had to find out this way, but it’s a new thing. And I was going to tell you when I was ready.”
She makes an hmmph noise then turns to Saxon. “You’re a handsome man.”
Saxon is wearing just a pair of jeans, his chest is bare. I see my mother taking in his chiselled abs and her eyes flaring in approval.
Just kill me now.
He grins cheekily. “Thank you. And I see where Tenielle gets her stunning looks from.”
My mum blushes.
