“Awww, man! They’re beautiful!”
“One boy, one girl! They’re perfect.” Whiskey smiled then leaned in, looking at them more closely. “They look like both of ya!”
“Yeah, they do.”
“Boss, hold his neck! Geesh! Haven’t you ever held a baby before?!”
“Oh, shit! I thought I was! And no, I haven’t! It didn’t look too hard on the video on YouTube.” Whiskey rolled his eyes. “I figured, how hard could it be?!” Alexandre’s mind was racing, his thoughts going everywhere, with no rhyme or reason. Adrenaline rushed through him, elation fueled him, the whole nine. There was no way to explain the joy he felt at that moment… Love at first sight did exist, after all. Whiskey chuckled, grabbed his phone out of his pocket, and began to call people on his behalf, sharing the good news.
“Hey! Yeah, they’re here! Twins! Boy ’nd girl!”
Alexandre stood there eavesdropping then skipped to the side when he was hit in the arm with a swinging door.
“What the hell!” Venus had come bursting out the room, her IV still attached in her hand. “Get back in the bed,” he ordered, tired of her ignoring doctor’s orders, and his, too.
“I gave birth, I didn’t die!” She rolled her eyes. “Relax! I was tired of lying there anyway.” She leaned forward and kissed his cheek. He immediately calmed down, grinned and kissed her back. She walked up to Whiskey and took the phone to tell King Zhang Wei and Syà the babies’ names. Whiskey took the boy from his arms and cradled him like a pro…
I hope one day he has children of his own, too. I think Whiskey would make an excellent father.
He cradled his daughter once again, kissing her, rocking her, falling impossibly further in love.
Everything felt so surreal…
He stroked her hair, then glided his finger against her soft, pale cheek. She cracked a slight smile… He ran the pad of his thumb along her gums and laughed… he could feel the sharp ends of her incisors that hadn’t yet burst through her gumline…
“In due time, my Love… you’ll be drinking blood straight from the vein before you know it.”
He couldn’t wait to get back to Paris and have a grand party to celebrate the arrival of his offspring, and introduce the latest members of his family, with his beautiful Queen. He held up Océane in his arms.
“You are a Marseille… you are the future, the fruit of a forbidden love shared between a Pure Blood and a Turned Vamp. You and your brother are the pathway to change, a new day, a new beginning for France, and the world. One day, you will be La Reine Du Sang, and your brother will be, as my first-born son, the next Roi Du Sang… Happy Blood birthday, my Love. Je t’aime…”

Le Roi Du Sang Music Directory
In many of my previous books, I have included a Musical Directory. The songs mentioned during the scenes in this novel truly do help set the mood and give the reader an additional layer of understanding and depth to any particular scene. The songs in this book are included below, but please note, they may not be in the exact order that they appear in the text.
If you discover new music via the mentioning of these songs in this novel that you enjoy, as many of my readers have professed to having done so in previous works, please purchase a legal copy of the song by the artist/band. This can be done on iTunes, Amazon, and many other credible music vendors. That is how you show your appreciation to the creators of this wonderful music and of course, you are then able to play it as much as you like, wherever you are in the world at any given time.
Thank you and enjoy.
