“Reed. Reed. Hello, Earth to Reed,” Jack Sorenson called to Reed who wasn’t listening to a word he was saying.
“What, Jack?” Reed asked absentmindedly still staring at a brunette a few tables away. His eyes locked on her. She was beautiful, with brown hair and a smile that could give any man a hard-on. Her tits bounced lightly as she giggled at what the other woman sitting at the table was saying. Reed felt his pants tighten and his heart speed up. His business lunch just got a hell of a lot more interesting.
“Man, who are you looking at?” Jack asked as he looked to the table that had a waitress thankfully blocking the view of Reed’s interest. Jealously, he didn’t want Jack to see her. Irrationally, he didn’t like anyone looking at her.
Once the server moved, Reed reluctantly pointed and said, “Her.”
“Do you know who that is?” Jack questioned with amusement on his face, which Reed didn’t find funny. It was clear Jack knew who she was and it ticked him off. Jack was a true jackass who fucked anything that walked. If he so much as kissed Reed’s brunette beauty, he’d beat his ass.
“No, I don’t, but I’d sure as hell like to,” he told Jack with a growl.
“That’s Kane’s sister, Danielle…a hottie but nottie,” he revealed.
“Spence’s sister?” Reed said with wide-eyed disbelief. That sexy creature was his friend’s sister.
“Yep, that’s Danielle Kane.” Reed looked back at her and shook his head. Of all the women, she had to be Spencer’s sister. She had to be a Kane. The frustration set in immediately. He wanted to have her, but he knew that it may just be impossible.
He looked back at Jack and asked, “What the hell does ‘hottie but nottie’ mean anyway?”
With a roll of his eyes, he said, “It means she’s fuckable but off limits, and not just because she’s their sister but because she’ll tell you to go fuck yourself. Trust me, I’ve tried. She’s either a stuck-up bitch or she might be a dyke.”
“Don’t talk about her like that.” Reed snarled at his friend. He hated that Jack even knew her at all, let alone had tried to hook up with her. He wanted to jump over the table and bash in Jack’s fat head.
He caught Reed’s mood, shook his head, and warned him. “Damn, if I were you, I’d forget you’d ever saw her. The Kane family wouldn’t let their only girl be with a Landry.”
“I will,” Reed remarked, clearly not listening to what Jack said because he had no intention of leaving Danielle Kane alone.
“Best of luck, my friend.” Jack chuckled as he took a drink of his water and watched Reed stare at Danielle.
Reed couldn’t remove his eyes from her ass as he watched her walk away with the other woman. Fall was in full swing in Boston even though it was only September. The chill was in the air, so she had on tight black leggings under her sweater dress, displaying her curves for all to see. Something Reed was going to have to fix when they became a couple. He wasn’t sure he could let her get away from him even if their family hated his. His eyes moved up and down her figure because her ass wasn’t the only thing that was perfect, all of her was.
She must have sensed him staring because she turned to look at him. In that moment they made eye contact, making his dick jump and the sexy Danielle blush. He knew she liked what she saw, which was a very good sign. She broke the contact first, then turned quickly back to her friend who was still talking to her.
He couldn’t believe that was Spencer’s hot younger sister. How he never met her before was a mystery to him; it was like Spencer had kept her hidden. They had been friends for a long time. He knew there was a female Kane, but he’d never thought about her. Once he and Danielle were an item, Reed was going to belt Spence for keeping that treasure away from him.
She was about twenty or twenty-one, making her fair game. Reed was going to find a way to meet her and get her interested in him because he was sure as hell interested in her. “Until we meet again,” he murmured to himself as she disappeared from sight, winning a grin from Jack.

Danielle normally didn’t do lunch, but her best friend begged her. She tried to listen to her bestie, Caroline, who was chatting her ear off about her latest ex-boyfriend, but she couldn’t focus on a word Caro said. She felt eyes on her throughout half their meal. Taking a discreet look at the man who’d been blatantly staring, panic filled her as lust struck her full force.
She used the reflection off the window near her to keep an eye on him. He was a broad-shouldered, handsome man with sandy brown hair and a chiseled face, wearing a black suit. He had a little scruff which made him look even more like a bad boy businessman. Even though he was sitting, she could tell he was tall by the way his long legs stretched under the table almost touching the man’s feet across from him. At one point, she thought she’d been caught staring but she turned her head too fast for him to notice. Breathing a sigh of relief, she told Caroline that she was ready to go and called for the check.
She was tempted to go over there and say hi but she saw who he was sitting with—Jack whatever his name was. She’d met Jack at a party her brother Matt threw. He wouldn’t stop flirting with her, drunkenly touching her shoulder and hair. It took her threatening to rip his balls off for him to drop his pursuit.
She walked away with Caroline, but she couldn’t leave without looking back at him. Their eyes met and he gave her a smile that sent her heart pumping to the extreme. Afraid of her reaction, she turned back to her friend and left. She wanted to find out who he was but after knowing he knew Jack, she tried to forget about him—unsuccessfully.

Spencer walked into Reed’s office and welcomed himself to a seat. “So man, how are you holding up?” Spencer asked with true concern written on his face.
“As best as I can given the fact that Mitch fucked our family name. I should be asking you the same thing.” Reed sat back in his chair feeling defeated. Danielle had been on his mind the past two months, and he still couldn’t figure out a way for them to meet by accident. She was always with her family so if they did meet, the other family members would brush him off and so would she before she got to know him. He couldn’t have that.
Taking the same pose as Reed, Spencer tossed his feet onto Reed’s desk and huffed. “All things considered, I’m ready for a vacation.”
Reed was shocked because Spencer wasn’t known to take vacations. “Wow, must be really bad if you want to take some R & R. So your little man isn’t ready to play yet?”
“No, it’s not. I want to know how I can be limp at thirty. I hope you make it longer. So is that what happened with the girl you were dating?” Spencer teased. He and Reed were great friends and Spencer revealed that he’d been dealing with impotency for the last few months or so.
“Hell no, my dick works perfectly. I just didn’t want Eve anymore.” Reed wasn’t ready to admit that he wanted Spencer’s sister. He was tempted to ask about her, but he wasn’t ready to show his hand.
Taking a pencil off Reed’s desk and twirling it in his fingers, he asked, “Hey, you’re leaving for Vegas this
week, right?”
“Yes. I’ve got a deal to make a new computer system for the Mirage.”
“Maybe you’ll finally meet my sister. She’s going to try and land a business deal with Enders Corp.”
Trying to keep his cool, he replied nonchalantly, “Yeah, maybe I can keep an eye on her.”
“That’s what I’m hoping for. I worry about her. She’s our baby sister. I’ll get you her hotel info once I get the details myself.”
“Okay.” Reed wanted to jump up from his chair and do a happy dance. He was getting the chance he was hoping for. She was being handed to him on a silver platter.

Reed stopped off at his father’s house to lend him a hand with some business matters. Having been ill for the past year with several respiratory infections, Tom Landry was behind on his accounting matters. Reed was going through a filing cabinet when he pulled out a file in the back that looked out of place. He was about to open it when his father tried to snatch it from him. Opening it up, Reed got the shock of a lifetime.
“Pops, what the hell is this?” Reed asked in complete confusion as he looked down at a paternity document. His father ducked his head in shame as Reed continued to stare at him. “I’m waiting.”
“It’s what it says. Rose is my biological daughter.”
“You had an affair with your brother’s wife?”
“It’s not that simple. Your mother wasn’t a loving woman and well, she’d betrayed me multiple times during our marriage. By the time you were three, I was ready for a divorce but it wasn’t that simple. There was too much money at stake.”
“I know Mitch is a piece of shit, but he’s your brother.”
“It was terrible of me, but he and I always fought over everything. His wife included. I fell for her first, but I was already married to your mother and she was pregnant with you. Then one night she came over crying because she caught Mitch with another woman in their bed. I started to console her and well, before I knew it, she was on me. After what your mother and Mitch had done, I didn’t feel guilty about it one bit. I wanted her to leave Mitch, but he had his hooks into her. She used me to get back at him and have a baby of her own. I didn’t know Rose was mine. I had a strong feeling, but since we’re brothers, I just thought the resemblance between you and her was because we were family.”
“So why the fuck have you waited this long? This letter was dated two years ago.” Reed didn’t know how to process what he heard. He knew that Mitch had hated his father their whole lives. They competed and Mitch would do underhanded shit so his father would lose.
“When your mother and I divorced, she took almost everything. I have a good living now, but when Mitch brought it to me, I’d been struggling. He told me that if I told Rose the truth, or anyone for that matter, that he would sue me for all the years he’s been shelling out big bucks to maintain their lifestyle. And if that weren’t enough to deter me, he promised to destroy your company as well. As much as I wanted to tell her and take her away from Mitch’s grasp, I was afraid. What if she’s like her mother and no matter what Mitch does she stays?”
“What a piece of shit! I’m going to tell Rose soon. Mitch is going to go away for a long time once Richard Kane goes through with the charges.”
“I’m sorry, Reed, but you’ve been my only blessing in my life, and I didn’t want you hurt by him.”
“I know, Pops,” Reed said as he hugged his father. “By the way, Rose is nothing like her mother. She’s sweet, kind, but strong.”

Reed stared at the beauty that had been living in his mind for the past two months. Danielle wore a cute soft grey pantsuit with a purple blouse. Her hair was curled at the tips and half of it was pinned away from her face with a clip. Her makeup was perfect, but she didn’t need it. She was all he had thought about since he’d first seen her. Two months later and he was going to finally make his move. Coming to Vegas, Reed knew he had a chance to make something happen. It was now or never for him because he needed to deal with this desire that consumed his life. Coming to the place where winning big or losing it all was a common occurrence, he was going to take his greatest risk and hoped he came out with his heart intact.
Because of his attraction to Danielle, he’d broken up with his last girlfriend, Eve. She wasn’t too happy with being dumped, but Reed didn’t give a shit. No part of him wanted anyone else but Danielle. It hadn’t been a long standing relationship. He’d only been seeing Eve for a month, so it wasn’t a big deal to end things. No one compared to the fantasy that he had built up in his head of him and Danielle. Winning her was his plan, and Reed wasn’t above stalking.
He looked across the crowded airport and watched as Danielle started talking to the businessman with whom he knew she was meeting for work. He did all he could not to go over there and punch him.
Spencer told him that she hadn’t had a date in a few months. Selfishly, he hoped it was because of their one distant encounter. The one thing that was great about being friends with Spencer was that he could find out information about Danielle without even trying. He would tell him the issues he was having, which included his brilliant but pain in the ass sister. She started working for the family company as an assistant, but she wanted a bigger part so her father gave her a new role. It was working out perfectly for her. According to Spencer, she relished the travel, though that might not work for the plans he’d had for her. If she gave him a chance before he left Vegas, he was breeding her. That way she would be his and the Landry name couldn’t change that.
Reed looked at her smile, which in turn made him smile. He tried to convince himself that if he’d spoken to her last time, maybe the attraction wouldn’t really be as strong as he’d imagined and he could move on. The window to meet the beauty wouldn’t be open for long. She was only in Vegas for two nights. After calling Spencer, he found out that she would be staying at the Mirage and booked a room there as well. He didn’t know what floor she was on, but he was certain he could find out. One of the best things about setting up computer software was that he knew people who could get him into files he needed. He’d never utilized that type of influence before, but he might have to if he didn’t speak with her by tomorrow night.
Just as he watched her walk away, his phone buzzed. It was Spencer.
“Hey, man. What’s up?” Reed said as his eyes followed her out the door.
“Nothing much. I know you’re working that contract down in Vegas at the moment, but I was wondering if you could keep an eye out for my sister like we talked about. She’s staying at the Mirage in room 908. I don’t want her to know I sent you to spy on her, but I worry about her being in Vegas. Just legal age there, she’s going to be led into temptation by all the fun drinks and parties.”
Reed fought off the urge to snap because as far as he was concerned, she wouldn’t be doing any of that—unless it was with him. “I’ve got it, Spencer. I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for her,” Reed promised his best friend. His eyes weren’t the only thing he planned to put on her. Just thinking of touching her made his dick stand at attention.

Danielle Kane was working all day with the Enders Corporation on her father’s behalf. It had been a dull and boring day, something she didn’t expect considering the glitz and glamour that was Vegas. Everyone at the meeting had agendas of their own and no deal could be met today. She was forced to stay until Monday night to try and land the account. At twenty-one, she was attempting to take her father’s company by storm. She’d worked so hard over this last year that she could manage to enjoy spending a few days in Vegas and appreciate what it had to offer. But so far, day one was no dice. There was one exception, though—him.
At the airport, there was a hot man with medium brown hair and hazel eyes that she noticed the moment he walked past her to head to the coffee shop. They had caught eyes for a moment, but that was it. She could have sworn it was the man she saw at that restaurant in Bo
ston. Her body shook like it did every time she thought about the hot guy that was with Jack. If it weren’t for Jack, she would have tried to find the man. Something about him destroyed her hardworking, peaceful life. Sleepless nights, daily masturbation, and daydreaming became her existence after his little staring competition.
When she got into the waiting car at the airport, she already regretted not making an introduction. She wanted to jump out and go back just to give him her name, her business card or tell him how much she wanted to have his babies. As large as Vegas was, she still hoped to run into him again. Fate had brought him to her twice now. She swore that if she saw him again, she wouldn’t let the chance at an introduction pass. But now it was time to pull her head out of her cooch and get to work.
Several of the people at the meeting told her of a hot club they would be going to tonight and that it would bring a smile to her face, so she agreed to make an appearance, but only after taking a mini-nap. The day had been so tedious she needed this, plus, she was hoping she might see him out on the Vegas strip.
She returned to the hotel to get some sleep and that was when she spotted him again. It was the man at the airport; the man from the restaurant. He was leaning over the reception desk chatting up the female behind the counter. He was wearing basketball shorts and a sweaty tee shirt with a towel in his hands. He was so damn sexy that her panties were dripping like his shirt. He laughed at something the receptionist said, creating lickable dimples above his stubble. Immediately, Danielle reddened with jealousy, ducking her head away from the scene in front of her.
Jealousy was an emotion she’d never experienced before when it came to the opposite sex. Random dates here and there were all she managed during college. Working hard like her brothers and father had been her goal. Not that she wouldn’t like being like her mother, but she wanted to prove that she could roll with the big boys before she settled down and had a large brood.
She rushed to the bank of elevators, avoiding looking back at her first crush since she was ten. Unlike her brothers who fucked everything that walked, she had other plans. Her pussy was golden, and she wasn’t just going to let it get plowed by any drunken college boy, so she was pure still. On the other hand, the handsome stranger at the desk could make her give up the key to her chastity. It’s Vegas, anything goes, she thought.
