The Robin and the Kitten Page 5

by Camilla Louise

It was a cold night Dimond and Ruby tucked their kids to bed and put themselves to bed as well. The kittens had made a midnight plan. They went to sleep well actually pretending too. As the clock chimed twelve they crept downstairs and got started with Dimond's big big BIG present! Suddenly they heard their mum’s feet. They quickly ran upstairs and went back to be trying their best to not laugh. Afterwards they went back downstairs to finish it off.

Soon it was a lovely dazzling light blue picture frame with a photo of them just being born. They went back to bed and fell fast asleep until the sun rose and morning was officially made. The kittens yawned and stretched and ran downstairs. Put them in a box – in a big enough box so they could breathe safely and normally. They crept upstairs and Dimond opened it “SURPRISE!” they shouted throwing rainbow coloured tissue paper into the air “yay!!!!” Dimond cried happily. “Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Dimond, happy birthday to you” After that the kittens ran downstairs to make pancakes for their mummy. They put it on a tray and lovely roses in a vase, her favourite flower ever! Especially red ones.

They walked carefully upstairs to their mum’s room and gave it to her with a choice of maple syrup, cream; ice cream and golden syrup “yum” Dimond said when she tucked into the pancakes “good” all the kittens replied a little bit embarrassed and very happy too. It was time to get up and plan the party and invite everyone as well. Tomorrow was a big day for Blossom because she was having a gymnastics final. They blew balloons and made decorations and found some lovely decorations too. The family including Chestnut and sawdust put up the decorations in nice places.

They took out the most special decoration of all – the piñata full of juicy sticky sweets. She opened a card from her children and then she opened a card from her mum. It said “would you like us to come and spend a few weeks with you” She rain to the phone and dialled 07751879211 her Mum and Dads phone number. As it rung her mum answered “hi Dimond” Midnight answered “I would love you to come and see us for a few weeks “Dimond replied “we will be at your house at dawn, is that okay?” “Fine” Dimond cried and all the kittens ran into the room” yay, its Grandma on the Phone! Can we speak to her?” “Of course” Dimond cried. She went back to the living room the Chesnut and Sawdust “it’s been such a wonderful day” Dimond said happily.

The kids came back to the room and Dimond opened more cards and presents and suddenly the all the kittens gasped and held their breath “I love it!!” Dimond said holding up the beautiful blue picture frame. All the kittens looked relieved. Suddenly the doorbell rang “yay”” All the kittens screamed pushing and shoving to get to the door “Grandma! Grandpa!! The heard of kitten shouted “we haven’t seen you in a long time” Dimond led them to the spare room they were going to stay for the nights. The dropped their bags and followed Dimond down the stairs.

The looked at the time “oh goodness its dinner” cried Dimond. Dimond, Ruby, Blossom, Angel, Bailed, Duskey, Glossy, Snowflake, Chesnut, Sawdust, Jewel, and Sparkly had tuna and salad nutty rolls “yum” Ruby said “homemade from us!” Dimond’s kids said happily and a little embarrassed. After they finished Blossom took the plates to the table for washing up. Chesnut and Sawdust were staying for a few nights too so they could see Blossoms gymnastics final because Chesnut is her Dad.

They raced upstairs to brush get dressed and flop into bed. It was a lovely night and the trees were bare and a cold night began. It was a wintery cold morning and there were a few little blusters and showers of snow. They woke up to a white why and lovely different patterned snowflakes. Chesnut, Sawdust, Midnight and Rufus came down to join the kids and Dimond and Ruby. Dimond and Blossom had breakfast and were on their way to gymnastics. A t last they arrived. Blossom got ready and the grownups got seated Dimond and Chesnut couldn’t stop smiling and were so excited for her.

Soon it finished and the coach said “I announce that Blossom Conca is the gymnastics star of the whole year!” Everyone chapped and clapped especially Dimond and Chesnut. At last the clapping wore off and he put the medal around her necked and handed the shimmering real gold trophy over to her. Everyone went home for dinner “whoo hoo!” Blossom cried “Yay” Dimond shouted “Great” Chesnut screamed, “you won” Chesnut said “I know” blossom screamed forgetting she was still outside.

They arrived home to Ruby and the kids and Dimond’s mum and dad as well. They ate dinner, brushed their teeth and got dressed into their pyjamas hopped into bed and another winter was officially made.

  THE END
