Catching Whitney

He coughs, then grabs the table to steady himself. “Hand me that apron.”
I toss a blue apron to him, and he slips it over his head, then ties it at the back. He starts plating the bacon and sets it on the table. The he returns to the stove for the pancakes. I fill my coffee and take a seat. Once he’s seated, he points his fork at me.
“Please don’t refer to it as my twig again. That makes it sound tiny.”
I take a sip of my coffee and give him a knowing smile. “If you say so.”
“Yes, I say so. A man needs to protect his pride, you know.”
“Is that what you’re protecting?” I ask innocently. “I thought it was your twig.”
He hops up from his chair. “That’s it. Looks like I need to remind you what my so-called twig is really like.”
I screech and fling myself from the chair, running back into the bedroom. He chases me down the hall and catches me just before I hit the bed. I laugh out loud as he nuzzles my neck and threatens to do all sorts of naughty things to me. I’m not sure if I’m one hundred percent ready to resume a sexual relationship with him just yet, but I know he’ll give me all the time I need because he loves me. And I’m learning that real love can overcome any obstacle - even one as difficult as me.
I want to thank my amazing family for their patience and support as wrote this book. While it’s not a full-length novel, it certainly pushed me to my limits at times. My husband has been my lighthouse. Anytime I felt like I was sinking, he was there to remind me that I wasn’t far from shore. I love you babe!
My kids put up with how scatterbrained I tend to be during my writing projects and I adore them for it. My son keeps me laughing when I feel like crying. My daughter is awesome at helping me find the perfect playlist as I work. She’s now officially my audio consultant. I love you both with all my heart!
Thanks to my beta readers and their quick feedback. You gals are amazing beyond words!
Huge hugs and thanks to Kris Pittman. Not only for the perfect cover, but for her encouragement on this project. Without her urging me on, I might not have pushed forward with this story. You rock my aloe infused slipper socks Kris! I adore you!
Many thanks to my editor Wendi Temporado for giving my words the polish they needed to help make Catching Whitney into the story I envisioned. Thanks for putting up with my crazy schedule as well. I couldn’t have done this without you!
My readers have my never-ending appreciation for continued support of a dream I never fully believed was possible. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I hope Whitney and Aidan made you smile and reminded you that love can overcome anything if you give it the chance.
