“What has you smiling?” King Salinger asked.
“Thoughts of you.” Victoria decided not to add that she was also thinking about King James as well. “I would miss you if I had to go home with King James.”
Victoria saw a softness flash across King Salinger’s face. She knew instantly that he also would miss her if she had to return home with King James.

The arrival of King James to the palace was quiet. They did not put on their normal show of attention so that the King could sneak into the palace without a large amount of gossip about his trip.
He did arrive alone and King Salinger and King James quickly decided they would call each other by their first names. Cornelius and Robert.
“Hello Robert, I’m happy to have you in my home and hope we can work out a settlement that we can both agree to,” King Salinger said with an outstretched hand.
King James shook the other King’s hand, but he was busy looking around the building for Victoria. He had not wanted to give her up and he had been missing her terribly. The only reason he had not negotiated with King Salinger was because his advisors at told him not to. They had said it would open him up to many others wanting to steal from him and that King James needed to show people that he did not negotiate with thieves.
“Hello, Cornelius. I need to see Victoria before this continues. You should also know, I was advised by my counsel not to negotiate at all with you.”
King Salinger just smiled. He knew that King James was young, but admitting that your decisions were based on the advice of your staff, that was naive even for King James.
“You will see Victoria later. For now let’s sit in the study and discuss this situation. I know we both would like it to end.”
“You can give me Victoria and it will end. But I will not negotiate with someone who has stolen my wife.” King James could feel his anger growing as he raised his voice.
“Young man, if you will consider listening to me and not getting angry. We can discuss any terms you see fit for ending this issue.”
“I will consider it.”
King James followed King Salinger to some chairs in the study and the two men sat down. Both posturing to show their power, neither being willing to let down their guard.
“So as you may have heard, Ireland is struggling with food. We need land to for produce. I have made offers to your father and now to you. Simply for acreage to provide this food for my country. Yet you refuse.”
King Salinger tried hard to keep his temper quiet as he could tell the sensitive nature of King James would not take well to forcefulness. At this point, King Salinger was desperate to have a resolution. He needed to plant produce and start building up the supply chain for his country. There was no more time to wait for King James.
“Cornelius, if I gave land to every country who asked for it I wouldn’t have a country left to lead.”
“True, but how many other countries have come to you asking for land?”
King Salinger knew the answer was zero. He believed that King James had been wrapped up in the political strategies of his employees instead of thinking things out for himself.
“Well, I certainly don’t think the first person I should agree to work with his the man who kidnapped my wife.”
“I can see your point.”
There was a release of some tension when King Salinger agreed with King James about taking Victoria. It did make it much harder for King James to negotiate and King Salinger understood where he was coming from.
“I think we should talk more tomorrow. This is going very well and I’m hopeful that we will be able to find some common ground. I will get Victoria so you two may catch up and enjoy a meal together.”
King Salinger left the room and made his way down the hall toward Victoria’s room. He took a couple deep breaths before knocking.
“Does he want to see me?” Victoria questioned when she opened her door.
“Of course he does.”
King Salinger felt a sinking pit in his stomach at the excitement Victoria had for seeing King James. Even though he had refused to come rescue her, she was still interested in seeing him. It was amazing how a woman could forget a man’s evil ways so quickly.
“Oh I can’t wait,” Victoria said as they walked down the hall.
She had spent the entire day cleaning up and doing her hair and makeup. It was beyond exciting to finally get to see her husband again and Victoria wanted him to be excited when he saw her also.
King Salinger slowly opened the doors to the study and let Victoria into the room.
He decided not to stay and quickly closed the doors and turned to walk away. It was too much for him to imagine Victoria wrapping her arms around King James. It was too much for him to think about how much she loved and missed that man.
King James had refused to come and rescue her. Why would she still harbor feelings for such a man? King Salinger couldn’t figure out women. They had always been a bit of an enigma to him, but Victoria was the most interesting of all women he had known.
When she was with him, she seemed to genuinely enjoy his company. But yet she wanted so desperately to see King James. It was her husband, but still; King Salinger couldn’t figure out why Victoria seemed to enjoy time with him so much and she wanted to go back to her husband.
As he made his way to his room, King Salinger decided he would give up Victoria. If it would make her happier to be with King James; then that is where he wanted her to be. Her happiness was more important than his own happiness. It was her life and he didn’t want to force her to be with him anymore.

“Hello Robert,” Victoria said as she entered the study.
King James stood up and moved swiftly toward Victoria. The excitement and passion in his eyes was overwhelming to her. She had expected him to be distant. She had expected that he really didn’t care about her because he had refused to negotiate for her.
But the look in his eyes and the tears that formed when he hugged her, it showed just how much he cared about Victoria.
“Oh sweetheart, I missed you so much,” King James said as he held onto her tightly.
Victoria looked different to him. She had grown up while at King Salinger’s home. The way she held herself and even the way she walked; it looked different than what he remembered.
“I missed you too Robert.”
Victoria tried not to get too emotional. She did miss him very much, but the pain over him not coming to rescue her weighed heavily on her heart. She felt his hands touching her body though and instantly wanted to be as close as possible to him. His hands felt like home to her and she wanted to feel them on her for as long as possible.
“I am sorry I did not come and rescue you. It was my advisors. They said that negotiating with Cornelius would open me up to having more and more of my loved ones being kidnaped.”
Victoria tried to listen to King James explanation for not rescuing her, but she just couldn’t agree with him. She wanted him to just rescue her. Forget about what anyone else was saying and just rescue her. That’s what she wanted.
“So instead you just left me here?”
Victoria wasn’t about to tell Robert all about her time with King Salinger, she didn’t want him to know the things they had done together.
“I’m sorry my love. I just couldn’t go against my advisors.”
“Well, perhaps your advisors will lay with you at night.”
Victoria could feel herself getting angry and she couldn’t stop it. Robert was justifying why he had left her and did not come for her. He was putting the advice of his friends over wheat he felt in his heart. She didn’t like that at all.
“My love. I couldn’t. I am so sorry.” He moved toward Victoria and reached out to her.
Victoria pulled away from him. She did not want to feel him touching her body. His hands would make her want him and she needed to be angry with him, at least for that moment.
But King
James wasn’t detoured by her pulling away. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close to him.
“My sweet girl. I am so sorry. I love you so much. I was desperate to come for you. I was held back by my advisors and for listening to them I was a fool. ” He whispered as he hugged her.
Victoria felt tears flowing down her face. That is all she wanted, a true apology from her husband. She just wanted to know that he loved her. She could feel his love in his arms. The genuine sadness that he had not been there for her.
Victoria turned to face him and their lips met gently. She could feel his warmth and passion. It was so much more intimate than she had remembered. The way Robert looked at her, the love in his eyes. It was far deeper than anything she had with King Salinger.
“Come with me,” she said as she took his hand and lead him to her room.
They walk quietly to Victoria’s room and sneak inside. She locks the door behind them.
He is surprised at the elegant room she is in. It seems that King Salinger was taking good care of her and Robert appreciated that very much. It made him like the other King more, knowing that he had treated Victoria well.
Victoria couldn’t wait another second. She started taking off Robert’s close with passionate speed. She wanted to feel her husband next to her. She needed to see what it would be like to be with him, after being with King Salinger for so many months.
Robert loved the intensity in Victoria’s eyes. She had been so shy when they were first married. This new level of comfort excited him, He was instantly hard with desire.
While Victoria worked on taking his clothes off, Robert worked to get the small button’s of her dress undone.
“These are impossible!” He said with exasperation.
She was wearing another dress from King Salinger. It had nearly fifty buttons running down the front of the dress and Victoria knew the level of frustration that came from those buttons. She had been so frustrated that she let her servant finish most of them.
Victory started to help with the buttons and together they made fast work of them. She was undressed in just a few more minutes and Robert couldn’t help but sweep her naked body up into this arms and carry her over to the bed.
Victoria laughed at how quickly Robert had picked her up. He was intent on getting her to bed.
“Your laugh is my future,” Robert said as he kissed her.
“When did you get all super romantic,” Victoria said as she started to tickle him.
He laughed and then pinned her hands above her head.
“Oh, I’ve got surprises for you my love.”
Robert kissed her roughly and then made his way down her body. She pretended to fight him off by wiggling and turning, but Robert just used his legs to pin her down.
She loved how Robert’s body felt next to hers. There was a comfort level between them that no one else could ever match. It was this feeling that made Victoria suddenly worry about King Salinger. She did care about him also. She had started to have many feelings about him.
As Robert and Victoria made love, Victoria tried to keep her mind off of King Salinger. But it was useless. With every thrust of Robert’s body, she found herself secretly wishing it was the other King.
She felt horrible for continuing to have thoughts about King Salinger. Her husband was a good man and deserved her full attention. It was wrong, and she knew it. But Victoria couldn’t stop the thoughts in her mind. She couldn’t stop the desires that she felt for the other an and she didn’t know if she really wanted any of those thoughts to stop at all.

Robert left Victoria and went to the room that King Salinger had given him. He snuck quietly through the palace to ensure he did not cause too much commotion or wake anyone up.
Robert felt a renewed urge to work with King Salinger and try to find a reasonable agreement that the two countries could make work. It was over. Robert would no longer listen to his advisors, he needed to have Victoria back. And he really felt like a partnership with Ireland was a good idea. He didn’t really understand why England had not made a partnership work many years before.
Victoria lay in her bed with a smile from ear to ear. It felt so good to have her husband in her bed. His fun nature was something she missed terribly. It was this passion and fun that had caught her attention when they first met. He was a funny man and always made her laugh. She really did hope that the two Kings could work out their differences and bring together a better solution than what was currently going on.
As she was about to go to sleep, Victoria had a knock on her door. She thought it was her husband, but instead it was a servant.
“King Salinger requests you to visit his room,” the young boy said.
Victoria couldn’t help but smile. She wanted to see Cornelius very much. She went straight to his room in only her robe and nothing underneath.
As she entered his chambers, Victoria felt the sexual tension between her and King Salinger almost instantly. He wanted her. His eyes said it, his body said it. He wanted to be with her right away.
Victoria stood in the doorway and waited for Cornelius to make his way over to her. His eyes were soft and he quickly kissed her. His lips were gentle and his mouth moved slowly as he showed Victoria how much he had missed her.
They didn’t speak. Victoria kissed him and he kissed her back. His hands moved along her robe and he quickly figured out that she did not have on anything underneath. Victoria smiled as she watched his eyes get wide and he reached to unbutton the one large button that held her robe in place.
He let the fabric fall to the ground and he instantly wrapped her into his arms. Cornelius was stronger and larger than Robert. His ability to lift and carry her was much more than her husband's had been.
He walked with her in his arms and gently placed her onto the bed. With a fast motion, he took his own clothes off and Victoria saw his enlarged member. She felt a desire to wrap her lips around him and slid off the bed to make this happen.
While on her knees with him in her mouth, Victoria looked up at the King and enjoyed the look of pleasure she was putting on his face.
Cornelius wanted to explore right into her mouth, but he decided to make his ecstasy last as long as possible. He pulled her up from his cock and wrapped his lips around hers, feeling that taste of himself on her lips.
He turned Victoria over and let her body rest onto the bed while sliding his finger up and down her to test her level of readiness. When he was sure her body was wet and prepared for him, he slid inside of her. Slowly he thrust himself as deeply as possible.
Victoria let out a moan of pleasure and instantly tried to quiet herself. She did not want Robert to hear what was going on. She did not want Robert to know at all that she had been making love to King Salinger since she arrived.
Robert might have thought she was being forced into a relationship with King Salinger, but the truth was; she very much enjoyed her time with this man.
As he thrust harder, Victoria held her hands tightly around her own mouth. She willed herself to be quiet, but the delight she felt made it difficult to stop all noise. Finally, she just gave in and let herself feel the pleasure that he was filling her up with.
She closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling because if the two Kings made an agreement in the morning, there would be no more sex with King Salinger. The thought of never getting to make love to him again was not appealing to Victoria. She wanted to be with him. She was starting to have more and more feelings for him. He was a good man and had treated her very well. They had laid and had long conversations into the wee hours of the morning. King Salinger had taught her a lot and ignited a passion in her that she never thought possible.
The problem was, she felt equally strong feelings for King James, her husband. He too was a good man who had treated her well. She understood his struggle against his advisors and did not fault him for leaving her with King Salinger. She loved them both and would willingly stay with whichever man it was d
etermined she belonged with. Victoria couldn’t imagine giving one of them up, but knew she would have to as soon as the men came to an agreement about their land.
The explosion of the moment lasted for a minute and Victoria collapsed onto the bed. They both cuddled up together and Victoria instantly felt a twinge of guilt throughout her body. She had just been with Robert a few hours before and now she lay wrapped in Cornelius’ arms. She wanted them both. Her heart would hurt deeply when she was only able to keep one of the men.

At breakfast, the three sit and eat together. There is a tension between them that is palpable. The men seem to want to get along, but both are only slightly nice to the other.
