“It’s strange, I’ll admit that, and it might take me a while to get used to it, but if you make each other happy then that’s all I care about. And I really think you do. I’m sorry for ever doubting you.”
Jenny wraps her arms around Brandon’s back and she places a gentle loving kiss on his cheek. He grabs her hands and rests them on his stomach embracing his own happiness for a moment. Maybe I didn’t intend to create this wonderful moment by passing out, but if that’s what it took then I would happily do it over again.
“The next thing that we need to think about is Mom,” Brandon continues, suddenly looking more serious. “It’s going to be hard for me to persuade her that this is a good idea because she thinks that Zane is in a motorcycle gang. Now, she thinks you’re his moll, which isn’t ideal. I can talk to her, if that helps, but I can’t make any promises. I’ll just tell her what I know and hope that she stops being too protective.”
I nod slowly, feeling gladder than ever that this happened. I know that I could be the one to talk to Mom, and I will in the end, but Brandon is the perfect person to soften the blow. He just has this way of convincing her of things. Something about his manner really wins her around. Maybe he reminds her of Dad…
“Thank you, Brandon, that means a lot to me,” I say seriously. “That’s really kind of you.”
A thick silence clings to the air for a couple of moments, but it isn’t an awkward one. I get the impression that we’re all just looking at one another in a brand new light and accepting where our new places are. I know that it’ll take Brandon a whole to fully adjust to what’s going on with me and Zane, but we’re on the first rung of that ladder now. I’m sure that soon it’ll become natural. We’ll all forget that these fights ever happened.
“I’m going to get us some beers,” Zane finally pipes up. “Then I think that you should tell Brandon about your creative writing. He’s really interested, and I couldn’t explain it as well as you can.”
I give Brandon a knowing look. We are both acutely aware that he doesn’t think this is a smart path for me, but to my surprise he actually looks like he does want to hear it. There isn’t a scrap of judgement in his face.
“I want to hear about it too,” Jenny joins in. “It sounds really interesting. I just had a look at some of your text books and it looks fascinating. You must be really enjoying it though, am I right?”
I open up a little, my enthusiasm growing as I talk about what I’ve been studying. It feels great to share it with someone else. I know that Zane loves hearing about it, but I don’t ever want to bore him with details so I don’t go on about it all the time, only when I’m really excited about something, and to be fair as I talk it seems like Brandon and Jenny really approve. Even if it’s just because they can see how happy it makes me, that’s a start.
I have a funny feeling that this might really be the start of something new, a genuinely amazing friendship between all of us, and to be honest that’s the best thing in the world to me. I don’t want anything more.

“I don’t know what happened earlier on, but my God, I’m glad,” I tell Zane as we lie in his bed – our bed, I need to remember that I live here now too – a little later on in the evening once my brother and Jenny have gone. “It’s amazing how quickly things got better, isn’t it? Honestly, it was unbelievable.”
“Oh, I know. The talk that me and Brandon had was just amazing. I mean, we really got everything off our chests and clearer the air. I just hope that he can do the same with your mom.”
I don’t know if either of us hold out too much when it comes to my mom because she’s so determined to stick to her guns with this one. Of course, I’ll be very sad if she can’t ever accept me and Zane, it’ll be really hard to come to terms with, but if that’s a sacrifice that I have to make for love then so be it. This man is worth it.
I turn onto my side and kiss him, before stroking his gorgeous face. There’s nothing that I love more than caressing his cheeks and staring at him to remind me that he belongs to me now. This man is mine.
“Now we just have one more person to tell,” I say softly. “And she might just be the worst one of all.”
“Oh God,” Zane groans. “Who is it? I don’t think that I can go through all of that again.”
I pause for dramatic effect trying to wind him up. “Mandi,” I eventually reply with a smirk. “In all the madness, I just haven’t had time to see her and tell her yet. That’s going to be an interesting conversation.”
“Please tell me that she doesn’t hate me as well? What could I possibly have done to offend her?”
“Actually, she’s always been a big supporter of me and you. Especially since you came back and you told me to break up with Patrick because you would be much better for me. She sure as hell liked that because she was the one who kept telling me the same thing. I mean, about Patrick, not about you.”
“I never said that,” he yells jokingly. “I can’t believe that you would say such lies…” He tickles me, making me squeal. “But I was right though, wasn’t I? You are much happier with me.”
My chest fills with a warmth as the truth of that hits me. “This is the happiest that I’ve ever been. I love you, Zane. You coming back was the best thing for me. You might have changed everything, but for the best.”
“And you know that I love you too.” He kisses me tenderly on the lips giving me butterflies in my stomach. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world other than here with you right now. Me and you against the world, baby.”
Chapter Thirty Four – Zane
I never thought that we would be here, I never ever thought that I would be sitting in a room with Leah, Brandon, and their mom, and everyone would be happy about it. When Brandon left my apartment just over two months ago stating that he was going to talk to her about us, I had nothing but doubts. I thought that we would be fallen out forever. It wasn’t like me and Brandon, we didn’t have any history, she’s always hated me.
But Brandon must be magic because somehow, he made it work. Somehow, he got us to the point where we could eventually have a conversation, and now we’re all fine with one another. It’s weird, but amazing.
“Yeah, me and Jenny had the best day with Mandi, we all went shopping and it was awesome. They really get along, it’s crazy when they’re so different. I have this little group of friends now and it’s cool…”
“You aren’t about to steal my girlfriend from me, are you?” Brandon jokes. “Because I miss her!”
As they tease one another, I smile at their mom, and I really relish the pleasant look that she gives me in return. It honestly amazes me every single time. Thank God we’re all good with our families now, it’s amazing. I actually spent the afternoon after work with my mom and dad while I waited for Leah to come home and it was lovely.
“Oh, Leah, don’t forget to tell everyone your good news,” I jump in as I remember. “You know what I mean.”
“Oh right.” Her cheeks flush with shyness. “Yeah, of course, I haven’t got to it yet. I actually got an email the other day. One of my pieces that I wrote for my college work has been selected to be printed in a magazine.”
“What?” Both Brandon and his mom gasp with happiness. “Are you serious? That’s amazing.”
“Yeah, I don’t know how much of a big deal it is.” She shrugs bashfully. “But it’s big to me.”
She won’t say it to anyone else, but she told me that she thinks it reinforces that she’s doing the right thing. She feels much more like she’s a real writer, which is something to be celebrated. I know for sure that I’m proud of her. She’s worked damn hard for this, she’s put in many hours, and especially with that article.
Leah is embraced in a hug by her family and I smile proudly to myself. I have a celebration to have with her on my own later on, but that’s another matter. For now, I just want to sit back and let her have this moment. As she talks happily to them both, a real happiness encases me. I ne
ver knew that I could have it all.
“Right.” Eventually Leah sends me a look and I know that she wants to leave. “We have to go, but we’ll come over at the weekend for dinner, okay? And maybe you can come over to us at some point.”
The only reason that we haven’t had anyone come to us yet is because the place is so small, but that won’t always be the case. Once I get my announcement out… well, then everything is going to change.
Leah takes the motorcycle helmet from me and she pulls it over her head, then we head outside to climb aboard my machine. It’s looking even better and bolder these days, I’ve worked on it sporadically over time and now it’s looking good. It looks so impressive that occasionally people even stop me to ask me about it. That’s led to me getting a lot more work, which is great. I’m slowly getting to the stage where I need to hire someone else.
Leah wraps her hands around my back and I take off. Only I don’t go in the usual direction because we aren’t heading to the apartment just yet. I’m off to share my surprise and the keys jangling in my pocket are reminding me of how awesome it is. I can’t wait to see her reaction. I hope Leah’s as excited as I am.
Soon, I pull up outside a quaint little cottage. It isn’t too far away from the bike shop, so it won’t be again to get there, but it’ll give me some separation from my work and home life. The busier I get, the more that I’ll need that. Being on site makes it hard to stop working sometimes, especially if something is bugging me. Plus, it me and Leah more space to really live. We can have people over if we want and maybe when we start a family…
“Where are we?” Leah asks as she pulls her helmet off. “Where have you taken me?”
“This…” I pull the keys out of my pocket. “Is our new home. I just signed the final paperwork today.”
Her eyebrows narrow in confusion. “What are you talking about? New home? How? We can’t…”
“Well, we can afford it, if that’s what you’re going to say? Because what I didn’t tell you is my father gave me a trust fund a few months ago.” I laugh to myself. The only reason I didn’t tell Leah right away is because of this surprise. “He gave me a million dollars, actually, and I want to use that money to make us a better future.”
Leah looks completely blown away, just as I knew that she would be. This is a hug shock to be fair. “So, you have a million dollars, this is now our home, and… wait, are there any more surprises?”
“Actually, yes there is.” I bite down on my bottom lip. “There’s just one more thing.” Without waiting for another moment, I drop to one knee and I pull the final surprise out. I have a wonderful princess cut diamond ring in a velvety box waiting for her. “Leah, I don’t just want you to be my girlfriend, I want you to be my wife.”
“What?” she gushes, looking a little frantic. “What are you on about? Are you actually serious?”
“Of course, I’m serious. How could I not be? You are the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I know that I want to be with you forever, there’s no doubt in that area, so why not make it official? I want to walk down the aisle with you and say those vows, making you mine forever. I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy. Will you let me do that? Will you do me the honor of being my wife?”
Leah gasps loudly, staring at me as if I’ve lost my mind. “You’re mad,” she giggles. “Honestly.”
“I know, but that’s why you love me.” I shrug. “And that’s why you’ll always love me.”
“I will.” She knows that she can’t deny that. “So, of course, my answer is yes. I want to be your wife.”
I leap up and I hold her tightly to me, kissing her hard. Elation fills me, this is incredible. I had a feeling that she would say yes, but to hear those words coming out of her mouth is too much. When we pull apart I take a wonderful moment to slide the ring onto her finger, and it cements absolutely everything. Now, we’re real, now we truly do belong to one another and that’s the best sensation in the entire world.
“Shall we go inside?” I ask her. “Do you want to see the place?”
I take Leah’s hand and I guide her inside, taking her from room to room, even showing her the cute little garden outside. She seems to love every single part of the house just as much as I do. I thought of her as I looked around the place. I knew that she’s love it, that’s why I chose it.
“There’s even a little office that’s just for you,” I tell her once we get to the final room. “For you to do your college work, and for you to do your writing once your course is done.”
“Are you serious?” she gasps. “But what about you?”
“I have my office at work. Plus, once we move out of the apartment that can be part storage room, part office. I have plenty of room, don’t you worry about me. This is all for you.”
Leah throws her arms around my neck and she kisses me. At first, I think that this is going to be a thank you kiss, but it very rapidly becomes much more passionate. She presses herself into me and gives me the impression that she wants to christen our home for the very first time. Of course, I’m more than happy to comply!
I bring her leg up around me and I push her back against the desk already there. She falls back onto it willingly, allowing her thighs to part for me. Thank God she’s wearing a dress because the gorgeous way that she looks is too much. I don’t think that I’d have the patience to rip off her trousers right now. I need to touch her now.
“Oh God, you’re so fucking sexy,” I murmur. “I cannot believe that you’re my fiancée.”
I work the outside of her panties, feeling a wet heat there. She’s desperate for me, so needy, and I love that. I pull the material to one side and I slide my fingers into her, groaning as I touch her very familiar body. I love the feel of her wet slit, a adore fiddling with her clit and driving her wild, it’s amazing to feel inside of her.
This is the woman who’s going to be my wife, I think to myself as delicate sexy little purrs come out of her lips. I love her so fucking much. She’s going to be mine forever.
I can’t take it anymore. Seeing her so submissive to me, with her legs apart and her head rolled to one side makes me need more. Sweat slicks over my skin, I feel hot and flushed, my heart is hammering, and the breaths are raggedly coming out of my mouth. I’m a freaking mess, so as Leah leans forwards and she starts to fiddle with my belt, I fear that I might lose my mind. I’m already so close to edge, it’s crazy.
“You’re so big,” Leah gasps. “Oh my God, it always surprises me how big you are.”
Her hand touches me, and the electricity of her hands sets me alight. I fear that I might explode all over those precious little fingers of hers. I don’t want to ruin things by losing myself too quickly.
“Don’t do that,” I plead with her desperately. “I need to be inside you.”
Leah snatches her hand back and she holds herself in place on the desk. I hold onto my cock as I drive it into her. Her tight wet pussy holds onto me, it grips me tight and it feels fucking phenomenal. I use the desk to, helping me thrust just as she wants it. I can tell that she needs it hard and fast today, so I give her what she wants. As I do, love surrounds us and it feels wonderful. I drive into her, and we both lose ourselves in the sensations. Our connection and bond deepens even more.
Eventually, her walls contract around me and she falls to her back on the desk. I watch her face contort into a blissful expression. She looks like an angel as she comes, she always has done, and it’s one of my favorite looks on her. She’s so damn beautiful, I honestly love her more than anything in the world.
The pleasure gets to me as I watch Leah intently. I don’t stop looking at her face the entire time because she makes me so damn happy. I don’t know what I would do without her in my life, and thankfully now I won’t ever have to find out.
Epilogue – Leah
One Year Later…
“Oh my God, I am having the best time!” I exclaim with glee as the bright neon lights of La Vegas flash around us. “T
his awesome. Thank you for bringing me here.”
“Yeah,” Mandi declares while tossing her arm over my shoulder. “Thanks for bringing all of us here. Vegas is so cool!”
Jon, Jenny, and Brandon follow close behind with our parents with them. Mom smiles and laughs at something my brother says, Zane’s mom smiles and join in. His father stands behind them all on his cell phone, the same place that he’s been pretty much the whole trip, but I don’t mind. As long as we’re all together, that’s all that matters.
“Yeah, well the night is still young,” Zane smiles. “And we still have the most important part of the vacation to happen soon.”
Oh, I just cannot wait. I’ve been so excited for this ever since we landed in Las Vegas. It’s finally time for me and Zane to tie the knot, and this is where I want to do it. We could have had a massive ceremony with lots of people in attendance. We could’ve spent lots of money and invited the whole town, but I only want the most important people around, the ones who we love on a day to day basis, to make it a day that’s just for us. Marrying Zane is more than just a big party for everyone else, it’s a celebration of our love.
Anyway, we have a month long adventure around Europe to follow for our honeymoon and I would much rather spend the money on that. I’m finally getting to see some of the world and that’s awesome to me. I used to dream of adventure while living the monotony of my everyday life, I used to wish for more. I guess there was a part of me that was always waiting for my real life to begin.
Well, not anymore. Now, I feel like I have it all. I have my part time job, I have my college course which I love, and I have my regular writing jobs which keep me going and build up my resume. On top of that I have this man who I love like anything, and who’s about to become my husband.
“Come on.” Zane grabs onto my hand eagerly. “Let’s go to the little chapel now. I can’t wait any longer. I want you to be my wife already. You’ve already made me wait for a year.”
