“You’re a great cook,” Carmen said. She held out her hands, and Jovina put the bowl into it. How many times had they talked like this while they cooked for their family? Thousands, Jovina knew, but today was different. She’d taken a stand for what she wanted, and Carmen was still talking to her. And her mother was defending her.
“I’m going to paint,” Jovina said, her voice strong. “And I’m going to hopefully find a place to exhibit my work and sell it.”
“Excellent,” Carmen said. “You’ll be famous in no time.”
“I don’t know about that,” Jovina said. She put the finishing touches to the salad. After she placed it on the table, she took avocados out of a basket. She’d make a quick guacamole before she took the vegetables out to the grill.
As she peeled the green fruit, Jovina thought about the recent changes in her life.
“Can I ask you something?” Carmen’s words broke into her thoughts.
“Sure.”
“Why do you love her? Because of the sex, or something else?”
This was so easy. “Because of the way she makes me feel. I’ve laughed more since we’ve been together than I have in several years past. I feel connected. I feel loved. She told me I had to live for myself or else I would regret it. She’s right. I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to see you or everyone else ever again. I’m so glad you came.”
Her sister crossed the room so fast Jovina hadn’t even realized she’d stood up. “I told you, I love you, no matter what. That’s what sisters are for. Those that come around know it. Those that don’t, well, it’s their loss, not yours.”
“How did you get to be so smart, baby sister?”
“Easy. I got all the brains in the family. All of them. Now, hurry up and feed me. I’m starved.”

“Your sister is a card,” Martie said later that evening as they climbed into bed. Jovina wore nothing except the leather collar. It would take some getting used to, but it made her feel as if she finally belonged and that she was where she was meant to be.
“She’s always been that way. I think she just wanted to check up on me, personally, and the mail was an excuse.” Jovina turned to Martie. “But it proves you were right. I wasn’t abandoned.”
“Never.” Martie stroked her cheek. She pushed Jovina onto her back and mounted her. “Who do you belong to?”
“You, Mistress.”
Martie put her hands over Jovina’s eyes. “Close them, and do not open them again until I give you permission. And I’d like to hear some noise from my new toy.”
“Yes, Mistress.”
Martie grabbed Jovina’s nipples, holding them tight between her fingers. She twisted and turned them until Jovina thrashed under her, groaning and moaning, begging for more.
All of a sudden she stopped. Jovina kept her eyes closed, as she’d been ordered to do. When Martie’s lips claimed hers, Jovina felt as if she would melt into the mattress.
“You need to get busy painting, young lady,” Martie whispered against her lips. “I know a few gallery owners. Do you want me to introduce you to them?”
Her eyes still shut, Jovina shook her head. “This is something I need to do by myself, to prove I can do it.”
Martie moved off her. Jovina felt her settle onto the mattress to Jovina’s right. “I respect that. Now show me what you can do. Keep your eyes shut and eat my pussy. If you’re a good slut, I might fuck your ass.”
Using her hands as guides, Jovina settled herself between Martie’s thighs. She savored the Domme’s moans of pleasure as her tongue slipped between Martie’s folds. The Domme tasted like honey, and Jovina knew she’d never tasted anything sweeter in her life.
