Over the Hedge: Part 2- The Finale (Lucky in Love) Page 30

by Minerva Vesta

She pushed the straps of her dress off her shoulders. Shimmying until she got it far enough down so she could release her breasts from their confines. I reached up, ready to play with her nipples. But, Lashawnda wagged her finger at me and pressed my hands back down to the ground. She took the fruit from her mouth and slowly circled each of her nipples.

Again, my hands came up, and she pushed them back down. When she bit into the succulent fruit, a long line of red liquid trickled down her chin. Carefully she removed it with the tip of her index finger. She offered it to me. I quickly opened my mouth in acceptance. Lashawnda smiled and shook her head, ‘no.’ Instead, she placed the finger in her mouth and began sucking it in an erotic motion. Her hips moved faster as she sucked her finger like she sucked my cock.

  Fuck!

I needed to be inside of her—now.

Lashawnda reached between us, unbuttoned my pants, and slowly pulled my hardened cock from the confines of my boxers. I let out a groan at the feeling of her warm hand gripping me. I went to touch her again, but she slapped my hand away, scolding me lightly. I thanked God she was ready like I was. She slowly adjusted her panties to the side, so I would have access to her most secret place. But it wasn’t enough. I reached up and tore the thin material from her body so that I could have full access.

I growled as Lashawnda slowly slid down my length. She was so wet; it was a smooth glide from tip to root. But still, she wouldn’t let me touch her.

I knew what game she was playing. It took every ounce of willpower for me not to grab her around the waist and pound into her. This was her night, and I would let her have her way. My hands gripped the comforter like my life depended on it.

Lashawnda leaned forward, raising both hands above my head, until her breasts dangled like ripe mangoes at the peak of the season. Shifting from left to right, she caressed my face with her nipples. I couldn’t resist the tasty treats she offered me. I turned my head and captured one taut bud between my lips and gently suckled. The tartness of the strawberries still lingered on her nipples. The hollowing of my cheeks increased the pressure and Lashawnda’s pleasure.

She cried out from the feel of me deep within her and her right breast deep within my mouth. I know she had to still be sore from how much attention I lavished on her body. I knew every inch of this woman’s body. Now, I had to decide if I should make it rough or take it slow.

What started as a way to tease me was turning into a repeat of what we experienced yesterday. I lost all reasoning at the feel of every inch of me wrapped so snuggly inside of her. Lashawnda held her breath, taking shallow gulps of air like she did whenever she rode me. It’s been months, and I’d branded my name on every inch of this pussy. She should be accustomed to my size by now.

  “Sean,” she hissed in warning.

I couldn’t answer her since my mouth was still full of her nipple. I eased up on my strokes, stretching every torturous moment out. The veins in my neck felt like they were on the verge of implosion. This woman, this heavenly blessed woman, was beyond anything I could ever wish for. My eyes rolled back into my head as I envisioned our future.

  Her wearing my ring.

Her pregnant with my first child.

My second child nursing at her breast, while the first played at her bare feet.

Us surrounded in a garden by all our offspring.

Us spending an eternity in love.

  Fuck!

I took a tight hold of her hips and elevated my body, forcing her to sit at an angle. I’d take it easy on her another day. Tonight was about hearing her hit that high note. I pounded into her, the sounds of our flesh, sloppy and wet, connecting, filled the night air. Her cries became louder and louder while my hearing became muffled.

Nirvana took hold, as she traveled into a place where dreams and reality were one and the same. She took me along for the ride.

Lashawnda collapsed on my chest. Panting as her labored breath came out in short gulps of air. She took a few minutes to finally come down from her high. We stayed connected for a while. I thought she had fallen asleep until I heard her speak.

“Now, that was a perfect way of making up for eating all the dessert. Thank you very much for that…and for dinner.”

“You’re welcome.” The night air was cooler than before. For the first time, I noticed the crickets chirping outside. I pulled her close, enjoying the feeling of her weight on top of me. She didn’t understand why I liked when she slept on me, but for me, it was a reminder that she was real. Her body on top of mine was a tangible reminder she wasn’t a dream or fantasy.

“So, tell me something about you I don’t know.”

Lashawnda looked at me questioningly, pondering my question.

“Umm…don’t laugh. This might sound a bit creepy. But. I bought a bottle of your cologne and sprayed it on my sheets before we started dating.” She tucked her face against my chest shyly.

I rubbed her back and thought about her confession. “Yeah, that sounds creepy.” I squirmed as she lightly pinched my side.

  “Your turn.”

“Hmm. Oh...I masturbated a lot before we had sex.”

  “I already know that.”

“Oh…okay. How about I didn’t like going to sleepovers as a kid, because I was afraid of having accidents.”

  “I know that too.”

  “What? How come?”

  “Your mom told me.”

“Well, I can’t think of anything else. I guess you know everything there is to know about me.” I flipped her over on her back, so I could look down into her face. “Did you know I love you beyond reason?”

Lashawnda rubbed her fingertips along the side of my face and smiled. “Yeah, I definitely know that too.”

We spent the rest of the night in unabashed bliss. Talked, laughed, and reminisced on all we had experienced for the past ten months. And, when the last bit of champagne was gone, I removed all our clothes and pulled the comforter out from under the canopy, so we could make love underneath the stars. Lashawnda was thoroughly worn out as she allowed me to satisfy my cravings by feasting on every inch of her body.

  CHAPTER 25

  LASHAWNDA

God has a way of keeping you in check when you start getting off the track.

I’ve heard my mother say those words about a million times while growing up. At twenty-five years old, I thought I was in the clear from any out of the blue surprises. My life was drama free, besides the usual forgotten ingredient at the grocery store, or the long lines at the coffee shop, the usual everyday first world problems. There were no outlandish plot twists or page-turning drama.

I was a good person, actively worked on being good to others, and I didn’t have a hateful, dishonest bone in my body. So, you could imagine my surprise when I realized another person on this planet hated me. Not disliked me or didn’t care for me—no this person hated me.

I never thought my brand of quirky was for everybody. That point of view was ridiculous, no matter how good you were today. But, neither did I think someone wanted to ruin my life for no good reason. I was your everyday woman. Which is why this situation completely caught me off guard.

It was 6:30 p.m., and the office was practically empty, with both of the staff being gone by 5:00 p.m.. Sean had sent me a text earlier and told me to come get him whenever I was ready to leave. We were going shopping for some supplies for him to redo our joint office space at the house. The room boasted a wide airy feel that made it comfortable when working from home. But we both agreed it could use some more shelving space and a different paint color.

I was deep into writing, when I heard movement behind me. I turned to see Jenny walking toward me with a brilliant smile on her face.

I should have had my guard up, considering my last encounter with her was that awkward run-in in the break room. But, as Sean, my sister, and best friend have told me repeatedly, I’m too nice. I locked my computer before turning around. Ever since the issues we’ve been having with the MIN
D Project, I’ve been more diligent about following IT security protocols at work.

“Hey, Jenny. What are you doing here so late?” I asked, keeping my voice as friendly as possible.

“I figured you’d still be here, so I wanted to come by and show you the pictures from our girls’ night out.” She pulled a chair around the table to sit next to me. I looked at her outstretched hand with the thumb drive and felt like I was in the twilight zone.

“I’m sorry, what?” I asked, shaking my head.

“The night we went out,” she repeated slowly, as if talking to a child. “I’ve got the pictures here for you to see.”

I took the thumb drive from her and eyed it warily. With a shake of my head, I placed it in the USB port and turned back to her.

“What’s going on with you?” I asked.

  “What do you mean?”

“Well, a few days ago, you gave me the cold shoulder and now, you’re being super friendly. I don’t recall us having any issues, but then, you started acting strange around me.”

“Oh, that.” Jenny waved her hand dismissively in the air. “I was just in a bad mood that day. Don’t you remember I was missing from the table when you came in?” she asked.

  “Yes,” I answered cautiously.

“Well, I got some shitty news, so I wasn’t in the best mood to be social.”

I wanted to argue her on the issue, but looking at her, I realized it wasn’t worth it. I haven’t spent much time with her, and I honestly didn’t feel the loss. Jenny was a good friend at work, but it was obvious she was one of those people that didn’t hold much significance in my life. If she had, I would have attempted to fix whatever was broken between us.

“Is everything okay though?” I asked again, noticing how she was fidgeting with the material on her skirt.

“Yes, of course; I’m good. Things are just crazy right now, but everything is good.” Jenny gave me a friendly pat on the knee. “So, look at the pictures. It’s in the folder labeled: Florida Fun.”

I pulled my legs underneath me and got comfortable. My back was aching from sitting all day, so I hoped Jenny wasn’t planning on hanging around too much longer. But, her showing up was perfectly timed since I’d been staring at numbers for the last few hours and my eyes were beginning to cross. I clicked on the folder and waited for the files to load.

The first set of pictures was of Jenny, in what looked to be her bathroom. She was wearing the outfit I saw her in that night. The next picture was from Jenny and Trevor standing outside of Island Thyme Caribbean Restaurant. He had his arms around her waist, and their faces were pressed close together. I thought it was strange to take pictures with a guy you just met at a restaurant so intimately—but I refrained from commenting.

There were some of our meals at the dinner table. Crystal and Stacy were smiling brightly in a few of the ones at the beginning of dinner. I could tell at which point Jenny started getting on their nerves and exactly again when they became too intoxicated to care. Crystal had even gotten a few of them at the different bars we went to before we settled on Whiskey North.

“I’m glad you brought your camera with you. I hadn’t even thought about bringing one to capture the moment.” I looked at Jenny who leaned in to view the pictures.

There was a funny one of Crystal and Stacy attempting to climb into a birdcage at one of the bars that catered mostly to gay men. The guys were standing around, some in full drag, cheering them on.

“Can I save some of these?” I asked, knowing the girls would get a kick out of them.

“Sure. You can hang on to the thumb drive for as long as you need,” Jenny replied sweetly.

I was smiling at most of the pictures until I came across one of a guy standing at the bar with his back turned to the camera. There was a tall blonde leaning into him, or maybe it was the angle of the camera because it also looked like she was just talking to the bartender. Based on the stance of the guy alone, I knew instantly it was Sean. Plus, I remembered in vivid detail what he wore that night.

The next set of pictures really took me by surprise. There were a few of all the guys at the table. The blond from the bar sitting with her arms around Sean’s neck. One with Sean and Jenny cheek to cheek. Another group shot of all the guys looking stoic. And another one of the same tall blonde sitting on Sean’s lap, kissing his cheek this time.

My heart and mind had slowed to a halt. The only thing moving was my stupid finger, steadily clicking away at the mouse. Pictures sliding across the screen one after another. Yet, I saw none of them. All I saw was that woman on my man.

  Sitting in his lap.

  Smiling in his face.

  Touching him.

In that instant insane jealousy reared its ugly head. Anger roiled in my core. I was suddenly pissed at the unknown woman and all the others that came before me. To see him holding another woman on the night he told me how much he was dying to make love to me was gut-wrenching.

The suspicions and accusations started building. Did he release his pent-up sexual needs with her? We weren’t having sex because he told me he wanted to wait. Was that all a ruse to string me along? Had there been others? Was there other lies he told me? Had I made a mistake by allowing this man into my life? My heart?

Jesus, we just bought a house together.

“Who is she?” I asked. My voice had left my throat filled with unconstrained emotions—the most prominent of them being trepidation.

“Oh, that’s Tina,” Jenny answered excitedly. “Isn’t she gorgeous?”

“Yes…she’s absolutely beautiful,” I responded with my eyes still on the computer screen.

Okay, girl calm down. I lightly scolded myself. There was no need to go crazy over some pictures. Sean had given me no reason to think he was or is being unfaithful. The man is up under me just about every waking and sleeping moment of the day. When would he have time to cheat? But my mind wouldn’t allow me to make excuses just yet. I wasn’t that naïve. I knew if a man wants to cheat, he’ll find time to cheat.

“Oh, my,” Jenny said while placing a hand on my forearm. “Are you okay?”

I nodded. The initial anxiety and fear that had crept up my spine was slowly drifting away. Without another thought, I grabbed my cell and sent a message to Sean. It was him in the picture, and it would be him that explained to me what was going on.

Me: Hey, come here right now.

Sean: Everything ok? You ready to head home?

  Me: Yup. Now, please.

  Sean: Okay, on my way.

“Lashawnda, seriously, are you alright,” Jenny asked again, moving closer. The scent of her perfume made my mouth water, with

“Yes, I’m good,” I reassured her, while scrolling back through to the rest of the pictures until I landed on the one with her and Trevor. “Whatever happened with this guy?”

“Please, nothing happened.” Jenny leaned in close and kept her voice low. “I mean he was great for a one-nighter but, he isn’t for me.”

“Why do you say it like that?”

“Because I’ve got my eye on someone else. I don’t want to get caught up with someone else and miss another chance of getting him.”

“Another chance? Is this someone from your past?” I asked.

“Ah, well, let’s just say, he’s the guy I know I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with. There was a little misunderstanding and lines got crossed. But I’m working my way into correcting all of that.” Jenny crossed and uncrossed her legs before answering. Her shoulders shook lightly as she laughed.

“Does he feel the same about you? I mean it sounds like things got complicated. Does he feel you two can work it out?” I asked.

“I know he does,” Jenny answered confidently.

The glint in her eyes was something I’d never seen before. For so long I thought Jenny was one of those women who didn’t want to get tied down by the trappings of a traditional relationship. She was a free spirit that liked to date different men and didn’t w
orry about being exclusive to any of them. However, this new conviction in her voice was showing me another side of her.

“Well good luck, and I hope this guy gets it together, and you two work it out.” I encouraged.

“Thanks, Lashawnda. You have no idea what it means to hear you say those words.” Jenny pressed a hand to her chest as she spoke.

As usual, my Spidey senses went into overdrive when he was near. I looked up over the hedge of my cubicle to see Sean smiling down at me. His eyes briefly went to Jenny and then back to me with a look I couldn’t quite pinpoint. Was that guilt? Or something else?

God, those green-eyes looking at me with so much love.

I took a slow deep breath. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t return his affectionate gaze. While Jenny and I were talking, I did my best to school my facial expressions, and get my voice under control, so as not to alert Jenny that the pictures had affected me so much. Putting up barriers was something I was working on in this relationship. I didn’t need this incident to set us back.

I felt it in my heart that I knew what Sean was capable of. This was out of character, even for a guy that had a past of being a man whore. One thing Sean wasn’t, was a liar. If anything, he was extremely forward. There were times over the last few months that I wish he had a little more tact.

There would be one of two outcomes in this situation. Either we would get into an argument, because I was looking for something that wasn’t there with these pictures, or we were going to get into an argument because Sean was being deceitful. No, matter what, this wouldn’t be a pleasant night in the Price-Colcord house.

Sean stepped around the barrier into the cube. He gave Jenny a head nod in greeting before turning to me.

“I thought you said you were ready to head home. Why aren’t you packed up?” he asked.
