Sing To Me (A Dark Renzetti Series Book 1) Page 15

by V Domino

“Anastasia Romano, you are the moon to my waves and the gray to my black. We’re neither light nor sun, but we’re each other’s perfect shade. Will you marry me?”

I said yes and here we are four months later getting married at Medusa’s trying to fit my fat ass into this maternity mermaid dress. Who the fuck had the brilliant idea of this style dress?

Oh, yeah, I did. I changed my mind, I made the right choice.

We agreed on having our ceremony here instead of a church. This place has more meaning to us than a sanctimonious chapel anyway. I not only met the love of my life here, but I met my best friend, made myself known to New York, and started my journey of emotional freedom and began building my new life here.

As soon as I walked in those doors, I was no longer the orphan I’d always been and when Gavriel came into my life, he made it known that I’ve always been Anastasia, the lost Mafia Princess.

He captured Adriano and has been keeping him in the cell below the Renzetti house. Every day he is questioned about the bombing. His death will be just as my father predicted.

  Slow and agonizing.

Once my makeup is done, the dress is buttoned and veil in place. I walk down the makeshift aisle toward my man. Luca is walking me down and before handing me over he looks down at me and I see the pain he feels constantly—the rage at losing his other half, Silver. We were never able to find her body among the rubble, but the cameras show her coming back out of the restroom and going outside to say goodbye to a friend. Instead of coming back inside, she walked up and down the sidewalk while talking on the phone and smoking a cigarette. When she ends the call she notices one of Tommy’s men lying dead and turns to run back, but someone grabs her from behind. The man hits her in the back of her head with the butt of his gun and drags her unconscious form to a black vehicle.

Luca has been searching for her ever since, but only recently did he catch a lead.

The bombing had nothing to do with Adriano, though he suffered for it.

Do I feel bad about that? Ha!

  Absolutely not.

The bombing was actually the Russians. The Popov Mafiya to be exact. In the past there was a war between the Renzettis and the Popovs but the bloodshed ended years ago and all has been quiet since. Though Silver is not a Renzetti crime member, she is loyal to La Famiglia and it seems something she did recently caused the war to start again only this time the Popovs touched too close to home.

Looks like the streets will run red when the Hangman comes out.

Luca gives me a tight smile and says, “Forgive me, Sia, I’m trying to let go of my mood. You know how I feel, though. Gavriel gave me my button and I’m happy. Now I just need to find my woman, but mi farai sempre mia sorellina, you’ll always be my little sister. Ti amo.”

“I love you too, Luca. We’ll find her and you’ll be so caught up with her that you’ll forget about me, but don’t worry, you’re stuck with me too, fratello.”

He laughs and shakes his head.

Kissing me on my cheek, he places my hand in Gavriel’s and tells him, “Boss. Fratello,” before walking away to stand beside Drake.

“Ready, amore?” Gavi asks as I look around at everyone. Seeing the love on everyone’s faces. I swear I can feel my parents here too.

As if my babies agree, both Rocco and Roman squirm inside me.

  “Si, amore. I’m ready.”

There are so many people I’d love to thank, but there are a special few who have been the best at encouraging and supporting me. So let me take the time to name these amazing ladies, yeah?

Author Eleanor Aldrick. She’s an amazing author and friend. She is the kindest woman ever and the world doesn’t deserve her. She helped me with everything. I literally mean everything. From small things to the beautiful cover of Sing to Me. Love you hermosa, thank you for your friendship!

Author J.D Fondry, my wicked author bud! She's one of the coolest chicks alive! She’s beautiful and funny af and is the only person I know who likes the orange flavored sherbet ice cream, but that’s okay because she’s loving, loyal, and one of my besties. Love you, bish, let’s FaceTime and drink some Coronas!

Author AJ Wolf the teaser Queen! She’s a rad friend who helped me during my editing process. Without her knowledge this book probably would have been crap.

Book reviewer Ande Dawson. She’s an amazing friend and person who helped me during my writing process. She not only encouraged me throughout, she also helped me during my roadblocks. Thank you for being my first friend in the book community, babe! You rock!

I also want to quickly name some amazing people who may or may not know how much they’ve inspired me to write. K.V Rose, the twisted Queen of dark romance! Bethany-Kris, the Mafia romance Queen! Brianna Jean, the Queen period! Dee Garcia, La Jefa babe! There are so many more people I want to thank, but let me just say thank you to my awesome group of betas! They took the time to read my book and give me feedback. It’s because of their help that Sing to Me is what it is today. My pride and joy.

Thank you to everyone in the book community and ESPECIALLY thanks to you readers out there! It’s because of you guys and gals that I spend hours at the laptop typing away!
