“It can wait,” Wes replied. He turned around and kissed Joseph on the lips. “Everything can wait.”

Joseph took a second to drink this whole experience in. He took a deep breath and realized that something was different today. There was something else in the air, something sweet that he hadn’t quite smelled before. He turned to look at Wes and Wes was smiling widely at him.

“Oh my God,” Joseph said. “Really? Already?”

Wes didn’t say anything and when Joseph didn’t say anything else, he looked a little bit concerned. “I know. I know that it’s a lot.”

“It’s not a lot,” he said. “I’m sorry, I’m just surprised. Our lives are going to change with a cub.”

“I know,” Wes said. “Everything is going to be really different. I don’t know if I thought it would happen this quickly but… I’m sorry.”

“No, you don’t have to apologize,” Joseph said, kissing the tip of Wes’ nose. “It's perfect.”

Wes’ eyes widened. “You really think so? It isn't going to be too much?”

Joseph smiled, shaking his head. “It's probably going to be too much, but that doesn’t mean I don't want to do it.”

Wes nodded, biting his lower lip. “There's something else.”

  “What’s the matter?” Joseph said.

Wes didn’t look at him when he answered. “I know that you and me are kind of together but I'm still an omega first and foremost—”

  “Wes—”

“And I understand that I can never run away from that. It’s who I am. You decide how to structure this pack so if what you want is--”

Joseph put his hand over Wes’ mouth and shook his head, smiling at him. “Stop speaking. Right now, before you piss me off, or I'll have to spank you later.”

Wes laughed a little and Joseph stepped away from him.

  “Yeah, that would be terrible.”

Joseph winked at him, but then he got serious. “You're not an omega, Wes. You're my partner. For good. My equal partner. We decide how we structure this family, not just me.”

  “Really?”

“Yes,” Joseph said. He walked over to the pantry, to where he had hidden the ring that he had bought on a whim a few days ago. He hid it behind his back. “This is something that I wanted to do for a while, but I didn't want to put you off yet because I know it's a lot too.”

Wes watched him. “What are you talking about?”

  “How does Weston Turner sound?”

Wes’ eyes widened. “For the cub?”

“No, silly,” Joseph said. “For you.”

He revealed the ring and Wes’ eyes widened. He kissed him, jumped on him, hung from his waist, and kissed him again and again as the two of them danced around in their kitchen between giggles, until Joseph had to look at him very seriously. “So,” he said. “Is that a yes?”

“Yes,” Wes replied. “A hundred percent it’s a yes.”

“Good,” Joseph said. “Now get off me. You have to study, don’t you?”

“But I wanna hang out with you,” Wes said, pouting.

“Don’t worry,” Joseph replied. “Devin and I will both be there. After all, I have a sweater to knit.”
