Bright light flashed between their fingers, making her squint. She had to assume the accompanying tingle was the magic of their mating. The connection she only moments ago believed was complete, turned into a million gold chains going from her body to Killian. Nothing short of death would ever tear them apart.
She had no idea why she could now see the intricate, golden ribbons between them, but she was awed by the sight. A whooshing sensation filled her body as if a hurricane was contained beneath her skin. When warmth spread from her chest out as the winds settled, she realized it was her soul returning.
It wasn’t only herself she felt inside, either. Hers meshed with Killian’s reflecting the change they’d both undergone. They were no longer separate individuals, but two halves of a whole.
The warmth in her chest quickly became a firestorm as everything settled into place. If Killian hadn’t prepared her for the telepathic connection, she would have definitely thrown up on him. It was incredibly disorienting to hear bursts of his thoughts. It helped to close her eyes and focus on the salacious thoughts he had as he stared at her cleavage.
The sound of a woman laughing intruded on a very intimate moment. Her heart galloped as she worried her mind was being taken over by Crocell. She knew the demon was injured badly but wasn’t sure what she was capable of. Although, the voice was completely opposite of Crocell’s raspy one. This sound was melodic and made her think of love and life.
“Do not worry, Teagan. I am not a demon, but the Goddess you pledged yourself to.” Teagan gasped as she realized the Goddess Morrigan was talking to her in her head. Looking up at Killian, she opened her mouth to tell him but closed it when the Goddess continued speaking.
“You have been one of my favorites for a long time, child. It broke my heart to watch you suffer as you did. I used what power I could and brought Kari into your life. I wish I could’ve done more. Mating stones protect and bless different aspects for different couples. Yours blesses and protects your freedom of speech. Never again will Crocell’s compulsion force you to act against your wishes. You are no longer bound by what she commands.”
Tears filled Teagan’s eyes. It was the one thing she wanted above everything else. They’d discussed ways to get around the compulsion, but to know she was actually free was the best gift she could’ve been given. “Thank you, Goddess. For Kari, and for Killian. I will do everything in my power to make him happy,” she replied silently.
Killian separated their hands, and Teagan realized the granite stone had transformed, as well. He held up a piece of jade that was the same shape and size of the rock. This was their mating stone. She should have known magic would turn it into something special. She had never seen a more beautiful gem. It reminded her of Killian’s eyes.
Killian grabbed her into his arms and kissed her soundly. The cheers of their friends surrounded them as their whoops and hollers filled the space. Each warrior and their mate hugged and kissed Teagan until she was dizzy. She couldn’t believe she was mated to such an incredible man.
As her gaze met his, the background music faded away. His beautiful green eyes glowed brightly, and she knew what he needed. She needed it, too.
Before she could suggest they slip away, he swept her into his arms and carried her toward his private room in the club.
Chapter Twenty-Two
“I can’t wait to finish the mating. My brand is killing me, and my balls are officially blue,” Killian informed his mate as he carried her to the room he had prepared earlier.
Nothing he’d witnessed until that point could have prepared him for what he would feel like after the mating ceremony. The boost in strength and energy rivaled his desire for Teagan. He had an active sex drive, and now he was hardly able to stop from burying his cock in her welcoming depths as they walked.
Teagan turned the mating stone over in her hands with wonder in her eyes. He felt her awe through the bond. “I had no idea what you meant when you told me we would have a mating stone. And, why didn’t you tell me the Goddess would enter my mind and talk to me?”
“She did? I had no idea she would do that.”
“I’m free,” Tegan exclaimed as he set her down inside the room. He closed the door while she looked around. “This stone broke the compulsion Crocell had on me, and now I will never have to worry again.
“That’s the best news. I don’t need anything more aside from you to make our Eve of Eternal Union perfect,” he murmured as he unzipped her puffy dress. It had too many layers. He needed to feel her skin on his.
Glancing over her shoulder, she gave him a look that made his shaft jerk against his zipper. “You went to a lot of trouble to make this part easier for me. No one has ever done anything like this for me with the candles and flowers, but I’m nervous.”
He pressed his lips to her, stopping her words. He wanted her mindless with pleasure, not quivering in fear. When her lips parted, his tongue delved inside and stroked along hers. Her moan was music to his ears. He pushed her dress off her shoulders, and she turned, so her neck wasn’t straining as she looked back.
Without breaking the kiss, she shoved his jacket from his shoulders while he stepped out of his shoes. A second later she tore another shirt from his body, sending buttons flying.
“So eager,” he murmured against her lips.
“I need you naked now. I feel how much you want me, and it’s making me so horny I hurt.”
“I love you,” Killian muttered to his mate as he quickly shed his pants and socks. He stood there naked with his erection pointing straight out while she wore thigh-high stockings, a thong, and strapless bra.
“I love you too, Killian.”
With trembling fingers, Killian reached behind Teagan and flicked the clasp on her bra. The fabric fell to the floor, and Teagan stepped out of the dress pooled around her feet. It was then that he saw her heels.
A groan left his throat. “I want you to leave the shoes and stockings on. You are so fucking sexy.”
Reaching out, he brushed a hand over her breast, pausing to tweak one of her nipples. Moaning, she pushed her chest out while shoving her panties down her thighs. Impatient, Killian put his finger under the side and sent a flicker of magic through the fabric. A slice appeared in the silk, and he repeated the act of the other side.
Teagan cried out, and her body tensed. “I’d ask you to do that again, but I can’t stop to put something else on. Whatever you did was like a jolt to my clit.”
He’d removed the bed from the room and had a pile of pillows and blankets on the floor. “It was magic. How does this feel?” he asked as he slid a finger through her slick folds and called up some magic.
“Yes,” she exclaimed, and he increased the energy while rubbing in circles. Her hips went wild, and she clutched his shoulders. He kept up his magic fingers while he maneuvered her to the pillows. When her climax took her over the edge, he claimed her lips and laid down with her.
Breaking the kiss, she panted, “Holy crap, that was unreal. Will you do that every day?”
Killian lifted on his elbow and looked down at his mate. “With pleasure. Watching you cum is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. And, now you’re so fucking wet. But are you ready for me?”
“Yes,” she hissed and arched her back.
“I don’t know,” he murmured and moved down her body, kissing and nipping her flesh as he went. Teagan arched and thrashed her head while moaning. When he reached the apex of her legs, Killian inhaled the scent of her arousal.
Pushing her thighs open, Killian’s tongue snaked out and licked between her folds. Teagan cried out, “Oh, God, don’t stop.”
Moving his head, he sucked her engorged nub into his mouth. Teagan lifted her hands to her chest and raked them over her breasts. As her moans increased in tempo, Killian inserted a finger into her core. Feeling her close to the edge, Killian backed off.
“What? No. I was so close,” Teagan objected.
Killian chuckled. He needed her mindless if he was
going to manage the blood exchange. If Teagan had time to think about what she was doing, it wouldn’t happen. He knew right away that logic could interfere.
“Patience, love,” he encouraged as he ran his shaft through her slick channel. Her legs wrapped around his torso, pressing his shaft to her aching core. When that didn’t get him to enter her, Teagan took matters into her own hands and guided him to her opening.
“Ah, ah,” he chastised. “I’m in charge right now.”
“I’m fine with that as long as you stop teasing me, and fuck me already.”
“Don’t you want to savor the moment?”
“Noooo,” she shouted as he thrust inside her on the next pass in one hard move.
He nearly came right then as her tight, wet, heat engulfed him, squeezing tight. Needing to take it slow, so he regained his control, Killian lowered his head and kissed the side of her neck. He sucked the flesh into his mouth, wanting to numb the area a bit, so she didn’t feel when he pricked her skin with the knife.
“Faster,” she urged and lifted her hips.
Her breasts bounced, and her body shifted on the pillows each time Killian slammed into her. Killian added magic, trying to focus it on his cock. The vibrations were going to make him cum any second, so he reached under the pillow and grabbed the silver blade he’d hidden there. Like most ceremonial daggers, his was engraved with Celtic symbols and his family name.
Claiming her lips with his, he carefully lifted the knife. Moving faster, he carefully nicked his neck with the tip of the blade. “I’m close, love,” he told her.
When she opened her eyes, he was pleased to see they were dazed with desire. Holding up the ceremonial dagger, he told her, “It’s time for the blood exchange. I’m going to nick you. All you need is a small amount of my blood.”
“I don’t know,” she whimpered.
Thrusting into her hard enough to make her moan his name, Killian acted fast. He nicked her neck then lifted her head to his neck. “Don’t think about it. Lick my neck like you did my cock last night.”
Killian dropped the knife, twisted his hips, and put his hand between them to rub her clit. She growled, and her inner muscles fluttered around his shaft. A second later, he felt her tongue run up and down his neck.
Nearly forgetting to say the vow, he quickly added, “With this exchange, we will be joined for all eternity.” Killian fell on her neck like a ravenous beast. He licked and sucked while rubbing her clit and thrusting in and out of her body.
A blinding gold light filled the room as he plunged into her core forcing her body down into the pillows with each downward stroke. He should calm himself and be gentler with her. She was still a fragile human, but he was mindless with pleasure at the moment.
His balls filled with semen and his spine tingled. The second Teagan hit her peak she bit down on his neck and sucked his flesh into her mouth with enough force he would sport her mark for hours. It was enough to make his climax crash over him. He came so hard he was dizzy and panting by the time their movements stilled.
“Okay,” she panted as she reached out and touched his chest. “The blood exchange wasn’t bad at all. I didn’t even taste your blood. And, I’m going to be sore for days, but that was worth every second.”
Killian moaned as she ran a finger over his left pec. The pain was gone from the mating brand. He was happy to note the change from a red welt to one that was inked into his skin. Turning her head to the right, he smiled. “You have one to match, right here.”
“The invisible one you told me about?”
“He nodded and kissed the tip of her nose. “It’s not invisible anymore. It looks like mine, only smaller.”
Lifting her head, she pressed her lips to his. When her tongue tangled with his, he found it difficult to stop so they could join their party and mating fire. The mating fire was unique to sorcerers, and he didn’t want to miss his.
“It’s time we make an appearance at our mating fire,” he said using their telepathic connection.
Without withdrawing her tongue, Teagan responded to him the same way. “One more quickie and then we’ll join our friends. I don’t want to miss what you’ll show in the flames, but I need you again.”
Seemed his mate had him wrapped around her finger already, he thought as he began moving his hardening shaft in and out of her welcoming depths. Flipping their bodies so she was on top, Killian gave himself over to her keeping. After all, it wasn’t as if the bonfire would happen without them.
All that mattered from this day forth was the alluring creature above him. Everything else could wait.
EXCERPT FROM Book Title here BOOK #21 Sentinel of Khoth
Tilting her head back, Talysia enjoyed the breeze on her face. It hadn’t been long since she moved to Khoth from the Tehrex Realm and the planet was vastly different from Earth. Not only were supernaturals a known entity, there was also, none of the harsh chemical odor constantly in the air on Earth. When she lived there, she had to keep her ‘otherness’ secret from humans while living with the fact that every breath she took burned her sensitive nose, leaving it stuffy and sore all the time.
The purple night sky and clean air was an easy adjustment for her to make since relocating. It was the people she was still nervous around. While leaps and bounds better than those on her home planet of Calypso, the Cuelebre dragons were massive when they shifted which make her think of being squished under one of their feet.
Shaking her head at her wayward thoughts, she could hear her sister, Tia’s recriminations about not trusting anyone. A loud screech had her jumping while her turquoise eyes scanned the beach in front of her while her mouth tilted up in a smile to match the laughter all around her.
Being surrounded by friends and families out to have fun at the beach lifted her spirits and made an eight-hour work day fun. Working at Medure Eats has been her favorite job despite the fact that she was still learning all of the foods unique to this planet and how to prepare them. Their menu was simple with most of their popular items being more of a snack that was easy for her to prepare and serve.
In her eighty-nine years she’d worked in various capacities from waiting tables to cleaning bathrooms to disinfecting medical wings on her home planet. She had to say that she hated cleaning the various bodily fluids the most out of all of her previous jobs.
A group of kids raced by the open window of the Medure Eats shack. Leaning her elbows on the glossy rock bar where she served food to the customers, Talysia chuckled as a young female with long, curly black hair and Sapphire blue eyes punched a male in the shoulder. The male had green hair that reminded her of the mermaids back home.
It made her think of her brief friendship with Chantrelle, who’s hair was the same color, but her eyes were grey. She was a mermaid and befriended Talysia when she was searching for shells to decorate her room with.
As Talysia turned around to get a drink a loud boom echoed behind her a split second before she went flying through the air. As her feet left the ground, she reacted on instinct throwing her arms over the back of her head while she curled into a ball. Heat surrounded her as the sound of something impacting the ground echoed around her.
Pain detonated in her side a second later when her body slammed into the side of the tiny hut. Screams filled her ears as soon as they stopped ringing. People were outside and hurt. She had no idea exactly what happened, but she knew they were in danger.
Heart hammering in her chest, she crawled to the door. She considered looking through the opening but remained low in case they were under attack. A hard pattering hit the roof, making her think of gun fire and hurrying her movements. “Shit,” she cried out as her leg protested the movement.
Coughing, she realized the small building was filling with smoke and the smell of wood burning at the same time water splashed in the open window. Relief at the sound being water hitting the roof was short lived when she realized with a heart-stopping jolt that a bomb must have gone off outside. Thankfully, there
was little to no harsh unnatural smell accompanying it, so she hoped it wasn’t as major as the sounds made it seem.
Not that you would know what a bomb smelled like, the voice in her head screamed with a panicked edge that matched her racing heart.
When she reached the door, she realized her arm was cut and bleeding as she tried to twist the knob. It took her a couple times to get the portal open when her slick hand slipped. The cross breeze immediately pushed smoke from the room. On her knees, Talysia squinted and tried to catch her breath.
“Hoy shit,” she muttered when she saw the group of kids were lying a few feet away. Bile rose in her throat and she wanted to slam the door and curl up out of sight. The brief sight of several beach-goers lying there bloody and broken terrified her. The bomb was way worse than it sounded.
Suddenly a young male ran toward the kids from the intact tree line to the left. Without allowing herself to think too much, she waved her hands and called out as quietly as possible, “Watch out. Hurry up and get in here.”
The female with the deep blue eyes turned her way and blinked several times while Talysia kept motioning them to hurry to the shack. “Stay down Troy,” the male with green hair told his friends. “C’mon you guys.”
Troy stopped and nodded in response then turned and headed toward her while the green-haired one grabbed one of the female’s arms at the same time a brown-haired, blue eyed male grabbed her other side. The male with blue eyes must really care about the female as he was bleeding and limping along next to the other two. The gash in his side was enough to turn Talysia’s stomach.
She saw the female wince and had no doubt that she was injured in the blast too. Together they helped the female up and scrambled to the door. Talysia moved aside and slammed the door as soon as they were all inside. They all went to their knees panting as water dripped from the ends of their hair, pattering softly on the floor.
“What just happened?” she asked them.
