“Our drogon babies have all they need in their eggs, from the moment they are conceived to the day they are born, right?” she explained.

  “Yes, that’s right.” He nodded.

“Despite Eleanor and Rosalind are drogons, they didn’t form these eggs. Instead, their pregnancies are more similar the human ones than to ours. They created a cord to feed their babies through their blood.” She drew the connections. “Now, what’s the difference between Gil Ra and the other girls? Her blood is still human.”

“And the other girls’ blood is drogon.” Colborn concluded.

“Exactly.” Oydis let out a shout of triumph. "I know you can't convert her since we have no idea what might happen to the baby in the process." She added. "But you can add some of the nutrients the baby needs by feeding drogon blood to Gil Ra.” She concluded.

Colborn hugged Oydis tight. “Yes… this is the answer.” He said, thanking the woman. “I don’t know how I didn’t think of it before.”

“You were focused in Gil Ra, not in the baby.” Oydis pointed out. “Focusing on the babies is my job.” She said with a pleased smile.

“Let’s see if it works.” Colborn suggested, turning to Gil Ra.

“Wouldn’t this mean we would be on stage two?” Gil Ra asked, worried.

“No, not as long I don’t take your blood.” He explained, slashing his wrist and offering it to her.

She took it, trusting they knew what they were doing. And she had to admit they did. Just a few minutes after she had taken Colborn’s blood, she started to feel better.

She knew their blood had healing qualities, but she hadn’t imagined those qualities would persist even when the blood was ingested.

Oydis and Colborn celebrated the news as if they had discovered the cure for cancer, but she had to admit she was more than happy too. For the first time in almost two months, she was feeling herself again.

“I hope you’re converting her as soon as the baby is born.” Oydis told him.

“Yes, of course. I assure you I can’t wait to do it.”

The woman nodded and after a few more words, she left them to go back to work.

“Are you sure you’re feeling better?” he asked her, pulling her into his arms.

“Yes, much better. How many times do you think we have to do it?” she asked a bit worried.

"It doesn't matter. I can give you my blood every day since it gets replaced almost immediately." He assured her.

“Then, I guess I’ll have to keep you next to me all the time.” She teased him.

“Yes, please, chain me to you.” he replied, with a wicked grin on his face. It was amazing having his Gil Ra back.

“Oh… That’s a good idea… but I don’t think your patients would like that.” She chuckled.

He cradled her face in both his hands. "You're more important than anyone else, don't you know that?" he asked her before he claimed a deep, passionate kiss from her lips. She opened her lips allowing his tongue to slide inside, deepening the kiss even more, and soon the embers of the passion that always burned between them were reignited with an urge that had been forgotten in the face of her recent weakness.

Picking her in his arms, he carried her to the examination table and sat her on the edge, never leaving her sweet lips.

“What if someone comes?” she asked, heaving, as their arousal reached the highest levels.

“No one will come.” He assured her, too eager to be cautious, as he pulled the dress she was wearing down her shoulders and off her body. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you, válkana.” He whispered in her ear.

“I missed you too.” She said, helping him to get rid of his clothes.

He kissed her again, sliding his hands down her chest to cup her perfect breasts, clamping her hard nipples on the way, pulling them gently.

She moaned out loud. With the pregnancy, her nipples were a lot more sensitive and a simple caress felt like a thousand.

Noticing it, Colborn traced a trail of fire with the tip of his tongue, across her cheeks and down her chest, until he reached one of her hard nipples, and swirled his tongue around it.

She buried her fingers in his silky mane, pulling him closer to her, eager to have more of him.

He didn’t disappoint her, kissing and sucking one of her nipples while his hand caressed and pinched the other, alternating them from time to time, until he had her moaning out loud, wrapping her legs around him and pulling him closer to her. She needed to feel him buried deep inside her.

“Please… my love… I need you.” she begged him.

He nibbled her nipple a bit harder, ripping a heartfelt moan from her lips, before he slid his hand between them, seeking her engorged clit. He knew how to touch her to make the orgasm she had been welling up explode in wild waves of pleasure and he didn’t waste any time. Rubbing and pinching it, he pushed her over the edge, right before he thrust his ridged cock deep inside her.

The minute his cock slid inside her, Gil Ra let out a small cry. In this position, the ridges of his cock rubbed against her g-spot and the feeling was so amazing, so blissful that she came hard once more, her whole body convulsing under the powerful waves of that second orgasm.

He kept thrusting in and out of her, relishing on the way her walls clenched hard around him, trying to delay the moment as long as he could. But each thrust pushed her back to the path to yet another orgasm and when the waves washed over her once more, her shuddering body dragged his into paradise and they exploded together.

Wave after wave of blissful pleasure crashed over them and for a few moments, they totally lost touch with the world around them.

“We’ve totally lost our mind.” She said, chuckling. Anyone could have opened the door and caught us in the act.”

“They would have understood the passion that we share and certainly would envy it.” He assured her, as he helped her to put her clothes on. “Do you want me to take you home?” he asked her, smiling.

"No, it's alright. I'm feeling so great; I won't have any problem driving back home. Besides, Ingvar is at the park, taking Nari for a stroll.” She replied, kissing him again.

“Very well. I’ll see you home, later then.” He said, kissing her again, not really wanting to let her go. But he had work to do.

Gil Ra finally left the hospital and headed to the house. Nari had fallen asleep during the ride home, so she decided to use the time to work a little on the drawings she needed to give Olaf.

Fortunately, Colborn’s blood worked perfectly replacing the drogon blood the baby needed and she had been feeling much better.

Of course, her belly had been growing up, faster than what she remembered from Nari’s pregnancy, but back then, she barely had had food to eat, so it wasn't that much of surprise, this belly felt bigger.

But when Eleanor gave birth, just around six months after conceiving, she realized this pregnancy wouldn’t be anything like Nari’s.

They still didn’t know if they were having a boy or a girl, but all Gil Ra wanted was for the baby to be healthy and perfect.

Besides, she hadn’t had much time to worry about that. The girls had asked her to design clothes to their babies and she had been very busy with that, and making some for her own baby. Nari had more than enough clothes that she could use on the new baby if it turned out to be a girl, but her instinct told her it would be a baby boy.

She wasn’t sure how Colborn was going to feel about that, but she hoped he didn't mind. She knew the population needed more women, but she didn't want her baby to feel he wasn't welcome because he wasn't a girl.

She realized she had done a lot of blue clothes for the baby, when she took some time to put them away, in the room they had been decorating for the baby. Of course, blue in Zuvrak didn’t have any special meaning, but it had for her and unconsciously, she had chosen blue fabrics for the clothes.

“I should know I would find you here.” Colborn said, from the door.
r />   She smiled and caressed her huge belly. The baby seemed to recognize Colborn’s voice every time he was around. The kicks and the pushes got a whole new level.

“Are you in pain?” he asked her, frowning.

“No, I’m fine. It’s just the baby playing.” She explained.

“What do you mean?” he asked, surprised.

“Well… you know, babies like to play a lot inside mommy, they kick and push and even change position frequently.” She explained, smiling.

“Yes, of course, but how do you know the baby is playing?” he asked, puzzled.

  “Because I can feel him.”

“Seriously? How come you never told me?” he closed the distance between them and put his hands on her belly.

“I thought you knew.” She replied, furrowing her brows.

"Our babies move a lot too, but the egg shell is too hard and the mother can't perceive their moves." He explained, almost jumping when the baby kicked his hand hard.

“That’s him saying hello to his father.” She said, with a wide smile. “He recognizes your voice and gets more active each time he hears you.” she told him.

“He?” he asked, with a soft tone.

She paled a bit. “Yes, well… I mean… the baby.” She said, not sure what to say.

“You think it’s a boy.” He said smiling. “I’m sure it’s a boy too.” He assured her.

She smiled too, relieved, covering her belly once more. “My instinct keeps telling me it’s a boy. Of course, we could be wrong, but it feels so right. Don’t ask me why.”

“I know how you feel. What’s important here, is that we’re having a healthy baby. We already have a girl, and we have a long life ahead of us to look for another.”

She threw her arms around his neck, so happy she couldn’t put it in words. “Thank you for being such an amazing man.” She said, pulling him closer and kissing him.

“No, válkana, thank you for existing. You brought love into my life and I’ve never been happier in my life.”

“I feel the same, believe me. You saved me from the darkness and brought me into the light and made me want to live again. I know that perhaps I haven't been able to show you how much you mean to me properly, but you were the only light in my life when my demons haunted me." She said, cupping his face with her hand. I’m aware I hurt a lot the day I gave up on life and that I never thanked you for saving me that day.” She sobbed, and when he opened his mouth to speak, she put a finger on his lips. "I should have believed in you, that you were capable of killing all of my demons, but at that moment, the idea of losing you was actually my biggest demon. I couldn’t fathom the idea of a pain so excruciating. I just couldn’t.”

He hugged her tight and kissed her, printing on that single kiss all the love he felt for her, only stopping for a few seconds to pick her in his arms and carry her to the bedroom.

He made love to her as if there was no tomorrow, as they showed each other just how much love they shared.

Their lives would never be long enough for them to love each other. They needed eternity and they would have it, in whatever lay beyond life in this vast universe.

Igor was born six and half months after he was conceived. Colborn had insisted in having Gil Ra at the hospital for what they supposed would be the last week of the pregnancy. He wasn’t taking any risks with her, especially when they discovered the baby was too big for her to give birth to him naturally.

Erin was going to perform a Caesarean section, the minute she felt the first contractions.

He entered the world crying and kicking, but the minute his father greeted him, he stopped moving and locked his chocolate brown eyes on his father’s, delighted to finally be where he belonged: with his parents.

Slowly, life was changing in Zuvrak. Colors were starting to show up, here and there, along with parks with real bushes in them, for the new babies to play in.

Hope had taken over the people’s heart and they could finally believe in the future. What more could anyone ask for?

  Chapter 1

  Mission Interrupted

  Music Mix

  ~ Nick ~

Intent on earning his Trident, Nicholas Blake jerked slightly in the water, realizing that he was starting to feel lightheaded. Flicking the small gauge attached to his scuba suit, he watched the needle slowly bottom out. It was an unfortunate fact of life that sometimes gauges got stuck, even the ones on high tech military issued equipment. Tamping down his annoyance, he ignored his quickly depilating oxygen supply and doubled down on the mission.

Grasping onto his underwater dive propeller, Nick toggled the speed higher and kicked his webbed feet, putting on a burst of speed. The slight jerk of the nylon reinforced composite handles pulled him forward sharply as the unit vibrated in his hands.

His target was a gigantic dark form, drifting ever closer. The wealthy arms dealer luxuriating on the forty foot yacht overhead had no idea what lay in store for him tonight. The man might think he was a big deal, but to the US military, he was one of many small fish destined to share their innermost secrets regarding local arms trafficking in the region.

The moonlight danced eerily across the water’s surface casting odd shadows, fit to make a lesser man pause. However, Nick was a Navy Seal, and they never broke formation or strayed off course. He cut the engine on his sea scooter, before quietly breaking the surface. Switching on his body cam, he hauled ass up a ladder through some unnaturally thick fog. The shit seemed to have a mind of its own. Rather than dissipating when he moved through it, the mist circled lazily around his limbs infusing his clothing. Since fog didn’t behave that way, he pushed forward. It must be his mind playing tricks on him, brought on by his brush with oxygen deprivation while submerged. Landing noiselessly on the deck near the rear of the luxury craft, he was pleased to find no one around.

Quietly ditching his gear, he crept forward. The gun in his hand didn’t feel right. Then again tranquilizer guns never did feel quite right in a soldier’s hand. However, that’s how it had to be because command wanted him alive and zero collateral damage on this one. Military intelligent had already verified that Jax Santiago was on board with five support staff following a meeting with a Russian wholesaler interested in purchasing grenade launchers.

Nick moved silently through the small yacht until he’d neutralized the entire crew, most while they slept. Moving towards the master suite, his ears began to ring. Shaking it off, he eased the door open. Raising his gun, he pulled off a clean shot and watched the man drop to the ground with a satisfying thud.

Blinking once and then again, Nick tried to make sense scene before his eyes. A nearly naked person was tied with their arms to the ceiling. Though her form would
strongly suggest she was female, her light blue skin, pointed ears, and black hair were singing a different tune altogether. Her eyes shone like obsidian orbs and were about four times larger than human eyes. The beautiful dark eye held a note of panic.

Since what he was seeing was not remotely possible, he pulled out his radio and called in his mission.

“Eagle Eye, this is Seal One. Do you copy?”

His radio blew up with a bunch of static interference. Looking down at the fog swirling around his legs, he gave his head one hard shake as if to clear his thoughts before trying to raise his command again. “Eagle Eye, this is Seal One. The package is secure. Calling for pick-up. Over.”

  “Jesus, it’s really you?”

  “What the fuck. Use appropriate…”

“It is you. God, I never thought I’d be the one.”

“This is a secure line. I don’t know who you are, but you’re interfering in…”

“A military mission to arrest Jax Santiago. And you’re Nicholas Blake…The Nicholas Blake. Everybody knows about the two of. Jesus, you’re both fucking legends. I can’t believe I’m talking to you.”

Looking at the criminal on the floor, Nick stammered. “This is all FUBAR. The fog, the woman, you…nothing is what it should be.”

Suddenly the young man’s voice got serious. “It's because you aren’t in 2017 anymore, sir. It’s the year 3039. Your present is my history. You always talked about how hard this moment in time was for you, and I’ve honestly tried to imagine it a million times. The frightened woman in front of you is Miss. She and Acacia are going to become very important to you. In fact, you named her that yourself, ‘cause you never could pronounce her name in her tongue.”

Nick watched the slender female jerking in her bonds. “My oxygen malfunctioned. I’m hallucinating.”

“Dude, you’re not hallucinating. Pay attention. We don’t have much time, and I have a message for you.”
