Ty nodded and tried to look intelligent. What the boss was saying was interesting, and confirmed the gossip that’d been going around the office, but it had nothing to do with him. Or did it?

“The project manager position will come with a significant pay rise, an apartment in that new tower block close by the airport for ease of commuting, and productivity bonuses as each benchmark is reached.” The boss looked at Ty with a searching, penetrating glare and suddenly Ty realized this was about him. Was he going to be asked to apply for the project manager job?

“Are you suggesting I apply for this position, sir?”

“No, I’m saying you’re my nomination for the job. You’re outstanding at what you do, and have the energy and vision to make this new venture succeed. How do you feel about travel?”

All Ty’s breath left his body. A big promotion and pay rise sounded wonderful. The new apartment would be good too. Maybe they could ask Rhonda to move in with them. But the travel? That could be the death of his love life.

“How much travel, sir? I mean, how long would I be away each time?”

“That would very much depend on each situation, but we were thinking mostly day trips, one most weeks, with a few overnight stays involved. You certainly wouldn’t need an apartment over there. It’d be more the occasional night in a hotel if the business couldn’t be completed in a day.”

“So I’d fly out on an early morning shuttle, then back again at night, most times?”

“Exactly. With an overnight stay when the situation warranted it, but nothing like weekly. You’d likely get yourself a routine organized where you were there every Monday, here Tuesday to Friday, or something along those lines.”

Ty guessed there’d be a fair bit of extra paperwork he’d be completing in his own time, too. Project managers didn’t get an apartment unless they were making some sacrifices. But it sounded doable. He could manage that, and Scott could look after Rhonda the evenings he was unavailable. It could work. It really could. He kept his face bland and said, “Of course I need to discuss it with my family, but I’m interested, sir, very interested. It sounds like an exciting position indeed.”

“Good, good.” The boss drew a folder of papers into the center of his desk and started discussing the job in detail. Ty found himself more and more fascinated. It really was something he could get stuck into and make a go of. He’d have quite a bit of freedom with timelines, and decision-making, and the opportunity to really build his career. He felt sure Scott would understand. They knew each other so well he was certain of Scott’s response. Rhonda, he wasn’t so sure of, but she was a generous and giving person who ran her own business, so surely she’d understand and be glad for him too?

By the time he left the boss’ office, Ty’s feet were hardly touching the ground. He was thrilled, excited, and awed that he’d been chosen. He had the address of the apartment building and the choice between two apartments. The company would pay the lease for an initial twelve months, and after that it would depend on him meeting his productivity criteria. But even twelve months paid for was amazing. It’d be a huge saving for him and Scott, and truly was the golden opportunity to ask Rhonda to join them. It’d be their home as a threesome, not squeezing her into a home already belonging to the two men. It was perfect. Well, assuming they all liked one of the apartments it would be. And assuming they were happy with the idea of him flying back and forth across the state each week.

He could hardly wait to get home and tell them both his good news.

  ****

Ty managed to refrain from telling Scott before they saw Rhonda. It was hard because he was almost bursting with his news. But he really wanted to tell them together. He continued to wait as they walked with Rhonda to the bank and the Post Office, then to her car. At her car, he finally said, “I’ve got some news from work I want to tell you both. How about we go the bar for a drink before we go home?”

“Or we could go to the steak house again, and you could tell us while we wait for our meals?” suggested Rhonda.

“I like that idea better,” said Scott.

  “All right, we’ll meet there.”

The bubble of excitement inside Ty kept bouncing up and down in his chest. He was sure they’d be happy for him, but he was also a little worried it might change the dynamics of their relationship and spoil it in some way. And what if they hated the idea of the apartment, or didn’t want to move? He wanted Rhonda to move in with him and Scott, and he knew Scott did too. But it wasn’t something they’d ever discussed with Rhonda. What if she truly loved her own apartment, and hated the idea of moving? It was a neat, tidy place, and she’d obviously cared for it really well. Then there was her lease. He knew nothing about that either. Maybe it was something she couldn’t break without a huge penalty.

His mind wouldn’t switch off. All the way to the steak house he kept churning the problems over and over until his stomach was so knotted with tension there was no way he could ever eat any food. Just because this was a good thing for him, didn’t mean the others would see it as good for them. Yet the three-way relationship was terribly important to him. He couldn’t bear to lose either Scott or Rhonda. They were both a part of him, under his skin, in his blood. He couldn’t live without having both of them in his life.

By the time they were all finally seated at a table, Ty blurted everything out in one breath. “I’ve been offered a really cool promotion to project manager, but it means some travel. Mostly I’ll be away one day a week, but there’s the possibility of needing to stay overnight here and there too. It comes with free rent in an apartment in that new tower block by the airport for twelve months.”

“Oh, wow, congratulations. That’s wonderful news,” said Rhonda.

“Man, congrats indeed.” Scott punched Ty’s arm in joy. “Now slow down and tell us the details.”

Ty took a deep breath and did so, trying to be fair about the positives and negatives in the way it would affect them as well as him.

Rhonda broke in on him. “But, Ty, don’t you want this promotion? You’re making it sound like a bad thing, when all I can see is a wonderful opportunity. More money is always good, but as well as that, you’ve been given the opportunity to lead a project and really extend yourself. If you can do this one well, you’ll be running up the corporate ladder, not climbing it!”

“The days I travel are going to be mighty long days. I’ll have to catch a flight around six or seven in the morning, and likely not get back until seven or even later at night. Plus there’ll be a stack of paperwork to do too.”

“You’ll be able to some of that paperwork at the airport while you wait for your flight, and on the plane as well, but sure, yes, the higher you climb the more you’re expected to do in your own time. But that’s all right. Rhonda works Saturdays anyway. I can do the chores at home while you catch up on your paperwork. It’s no big deal, man.”

Ty just stared at them. For a moment he felt a rush of dampness to his eyes, and quickly blinked it away. They were happy for him? They weren’t upset that it would change all their lives? Grasping his hope in both hands, he took a deep breath and asked, “What about having to move to the new tower block?”

“Are you joking? Free rent for a year? I’d consider moving to Outer West Mongolia for that! Those apartments are supposed to be really nice.”

“Rhonda. Um. I was kind of hoping you’d move there with us too.”

The huge smile that split Rhonda’s face was enough to make his eyes fill again. But this time he didn’t want to blink, he wanted to keep his gaze on the two people who meant so much to him, who were now supporting him, instead of seeing the down-side to his promotion. The two people he loved with all his heart.

Scott grabbed Rhonda’s hand. “I want that too. Will you move there with us? Make it our home as a family?”

Ty took her other hand and Rhonda just gulped and nodded.

“I’ll talk to the boss tomorrow, and we can look at the two apartments tomo
rrow night, and pick which one we like best,” said Ty, trying not to sound giddy with happiness.

Just then their meals arrived, and Ty found his appetite had come back with a vengeance. As they ate, they talked about the logistics of ending their arrangements where they lived, and moving to the new place, but it was all light-hearted and happy. Ty just knew this was going to work out well.

  ****

Scarcely had they walked in the door to Scott and Ty’s place than they were ripping off their clothes and racing to the bedroom. Rhonda guessed the emotional roller coaster Ty had been on all day had exploded in lust, and she and Scott were right with him on that wavelength. She wanted to show Ty that she supported him, was pleased for him, and excited for all of them at the thought of truly becoming a family.

Deep in the back of her mind was the thought of what would happen if the relationship didn’t last, if Scott and Ty wanted to go back to being a twosome, but she figured she’d enjoy this time now and worry about that when—if—it happened.

“You’re in the middle tonight, Ty,” gasped Scott, pulling condoms and lube out of the nightstand drawer.

Chills ran up and down Rhonda’s spine. Oh, she loved it when the men fucked each other as well as her. It was so powerful, animal, sexual. It made her blood pound harder than ever. Quickly she settled on her back on the mattress and waited for Ty to climb over her. His cock was huge, the head red with need and already a tiny pearl of pre-cum was in the eye as he rolled the latex down his shaft.

He settled between her legs and guided his cock into her hungry cunt. He felt so good sliding in, filling her, stretching her, completing her. When his balls were snugged up against her body, she wrapped her arms around him, and pulled his head down for a deep kiss. Immediately he took control, thrusting his tongue into her mouth, tasting her, tangling his tongue with hers, licking the insides of her cheeks, and running his tongue up over the roof of her mouth. He was everywhere at once, and she could hardly keep up with him, so she just relaxed into his arms and let him dominate her.

She moved her arms lower, so they were just above his ass. Here, they were out of Scott’s way, but it enabled her to feel everything Scott did to Ty, and each of Ty’s responses. Rhonda loved this. Men were so much harder, faster, rougher than women, but it increased the pleasure for her exponentially to know that these two long-time lovers were maintaining their ongoing relationship, yet sharing it with her at the same time. She felt unbelievably privileged to be part of this.

Already Scott’s fingers were deep in Ty’s ass, and Ty was thrusting back onto them. Rhonda could feel him wiggle and flex his muscles, and she clenched her inner muscles in response too, causing Ty to groan as she gripped his cock hard.

For long moments they stayed like that, Scott working Ty’s ass, Rhonda feeling every sensation transfer through Ty’s body, until Scott slapped Ty’s butt and said, “Right, let’s get this show on the road.”

Ty relaxed down onto Rhonda and kissed her again, then pushed his ass up into the air, ready for Scott’s cock.

Rhonda loved this stage, too, as Ty’s every move indicated what Scott was doing, and it sent more chills running up and down her spine, as he shivered and wiggled on her body. Then Scott slammed into Ty, driving Ty’s torso hard onto hers, and the action began in earnest. The two men moved together, Scott pounding into Ty’s ass, and Ty thrusting into her only a little less forcefully. Rhonda raised her arms to his shoulders and held on for a wild ride, but gradually was able to move one arm until it rested on Scott’s hip, uniting the three of them even more closely.

In and out the men jack-hammered in perfect unison, Rhonda’s hips rising automatically into every stroke, Ty’s body glued to hers with sweat and excitement, and Scott leaning over Ty’s back, setting the pace, leading this crazy, mad run to pleasure.

Love for these two men overwhelmed her. They included her, made her an integral part of their love, and she loved them for themselves, for their consideration, for their crazy quirks. Even for Ty’s worry about how his promotion would affect the rest of them. Ninety-nine percent of men would have been shouting their good news from the rooftops. Ty’s only concerns were for how this would affect those he loved. She hugged him harder. These two men were a treasure beyond price, and she would devote herself to treasuring them in return for as long as the relationship lasted.

In her heart Rhonda knew she’d never stop loving them, but for now, she’d willingly accept whatever they were prepared to give. On that thought, the orgasm that had been building and growing deep in her core let loose, blasting through her body like an out-of-control fire, igniting every nerve ending as she combusted into pleasure. The two men pounded faster, Ty into her, Scott into Ty, then Rhonda felt a burst of heat in her pussy and knew Ty had climaxed too. The ragged gasps of breath from Scott told her clearly he’d come as well. For a long moment the three lay wrapped together, with Scott’s strong, muscular arms around both her and Ty, then the two men lifted off her and tugged her off the bed.

“Time for a shower I think,” said Scott.

  Chapter Five

Rhonda was pleased the mall was busy again the next day, and that there were plenty of orders for her to ship from the website. She’d been a bit worried the increased sales would stop now the excitement over catching the shoplifters had faded. In fact, now she thought about it, website sales had steadily increased ever since the upgrade of their site. Almost every day the dollar amount of sales was just a fraction higher than the previous day, and even though Luxurious Leatherwork charged for shipping, whereas some stores provided free shipping, this didn’t seem to deter people from buying from them.

She no longer ate her lunch in the backroom, as she needed the time for wrapping parcels, and printing out address labels, so she was eating a sandwich at the cash desk while wrapping orders, when she noticed a teenage girl standing outside the store staring at the clothes. The girl had long, straight blonde hair, a good figure, and was wearing a pair of tight leather shorts identical to the ones that had been stolen. Rhonda had to say, the boyfriend had a good sense of the girl’s size. They fit perfectly. Nonetheless she hit the speed dial for security and whispered, “Ted, there’s a girl outside my store wearing leather shorts just like the ones the kid stole.”

“On my way,” was the laconic reply.

Hesitantly, the girl entered the store and walked across to Rhonda. “This is where my dad bought my shorts, isn’t it?” she asked.

Rhonda tried to prevent her eyebrows rising in shock while she answered quietly, “Your shorts do look exactly like a line I sell, but no man old enough to be your father has ever bought a pair from me, or off our website.”

The girl looked agitated. “How do you know he didn’t buy them online?”

“I’ve only sold one pair online, and they were to a very regular customer, a woman I’ve talked to on the phone quite often. She’s about your age, not old enough to be your mom.”

The girl’s face crumpled, and her eyes filled with tears. “They were stolen then, weren’t they? What the kids are saying at school is true. He’s a thief.”

Rhonda wanted to pull the girl into her arms and hug her, but didn’t dare. Instead she answered very carefully, “A pair like that was stolen, but more likely by a young man. I wondered if he was your boyfriend, wanting to get you a nice present.”

“All the kids at school are saying my dad is just like Fagin from that stupid old movie, making them steal, and now they’ll all be locked up, and he’ll just get a new lot of kids to steal for him. But he’s not a bad man, he’s not!” The girl burst into floods of tears and Rhonda rushed around the counter to hug her, looking at the doorway of the store, very pleased to see Ted was there.

Ted pointed to his phone then tipped his head to her backroom, so Rhonda led the girl out to the break room and turned on the coffee machine to make them each a drink. She settled the girl down in a chair and passed her a box of tissues, then simply sat there while the blonde
talked about how wonderful her father was, how he’d always given her the most amazing Christmas presents, invariably just what she wanted, how her mother had screamed at him and left them. And now, how the kids at school were saying he led a gang of shoplifters and she was terribly worried there might be some truth in it. “Mom said he was a criminal. It was one of the rude names she called him when they fought. But he’s always been the perfect father to me. I never believed her.”

“Just because a man may steal, that doesn’t mean he loves his child any the less,” Rhonda said practically, handing the girl a mug of coffee.

The girl talked and sniffed and hiccupped a while longer, gradually calming as she drank her coffee. Then she looked at Rhonda and said, “I’m going to have to tell the police, aren’t I? I’m going to have to give up my own father who’s always been everything good to me.”

“If the kids at school are saying these things about your dad, I expect the police already know. But for your own peace of mind you do need to make a statement yourself, yes,” said Rhonda.

The girl straightened her shoulders and said, “I suppose that’s part of being a grown up.”

Rhonda smiled at her. “I think you will grow up to be a wonderful woman. By coming to my store today, you’ve shown you can do the right thing even when it’s very painful to do it.”

“I’m ready. You can tell that security guard hanging around outside your store he can call the cops.” The girl stood and Rhonda followed her into the shop.

Sarah from the dress boutique was at the till, chatting to a customer, and Ted was leaning against the wall opposite her store doorway. As she and the girl emerged, Rhonda gave him a little nod and he came across to them. Rhonda realized the girl had never mentioned her name. She still didn’t give her name, simply saying, “I’m ready to talk to the police about my dad, now.”
