Anabelle - Vampire & Werewolf & Witch

“Yup.”
“Alright, I am going to pinpoint the location and send it to your phone. Just follow it, don’t hesitate at all, just keep going alright?”
“Yup, got it,” I move to the right side of the car, trying to get a feel for it since it’s different here. I look at my phone and see the location, putting it in the car GPS. I look at the steering wheel, confused at the dents.
“Don’t worry about Annabelle, she is cooling off. By the time you reach the house, she’ll probably be okay.”
“Probably?”
“Most likely not. Good luck.”
“Tell Anna, I am sorry.”
“She knows. She wishes you come back though. Danni too.”
“We will, once we sort out this mess.”
“Okay, good luck. I have to shift, so see ya soon.”
“Bye,” I hang up the call and begin driving to the location.
***
After a few bumps and lost connections, I finally reach the house by a large lake. If I didn’t have that great of a vision, I probably would have passed by it. Thankfully the orange rooftop and the big black wolf sitting nearby gave it away.
I park the car nearby, getting out, but couldn’t as I realized that the door is stuck. I sigh and climbed back to the passenger side, opening the door and closing it, walking up to the wolf.
“Annabelle,” I say. Her ears do a flicker and get up, walking to the trunk, nudging it gently.
“Right clothes,” I open it, searching for her clothes. I found a decent outfit, it’s mostly blacks and greys, putting on the opposite side of the car.
Annabelle goes around, I hear the bone cracking back to its place, hearing her pants. In one swift movement, she is in front of me, fully clothed.
“Thanks,” she mumbles, she tries to open the door, feeling its lodge. She growls and yanks the door, tossing it to the side.
“You have some explaining to do. You left me in the middle of nowhere with a very big headache.”
“Elijah. Just get your stuff and put it inside.”
“No Annabelle, explain.”
“Elijah, don’t test me.”
“For fuck sakes Annabelle, why can’t you-”
I feel her grip my shoulders, pushing me into the car. Her eyes turn into that shade of ember, sending chills down my spine, “Everyone who gets close to me dies. Anna and Freddie got close, Freddie dies. Eventually, one you guys will soon follow, so I am pissed that I am Death’s lightning rod. Okay.
And I am also pissed that my brother got married and I wasn’t there to see it. Okay, I am pissed that I cause trouble.”
She lets go, her eyes reverting back to the deep green. She huffs out, blinking a few times, “Sorry. About the upcoming bruises.”
She grabs the stuff and rushes in and out while I stay there mostly hurt, but wildly turned on. I know those eyes scare me, but somehow those eyes weren’t meant to instill fear in me but to assure that she will protect me.
And I will her.
“Annabelle, I am sorry. I just, I just feel like in order for us to work we need to trust each other and confide in each other. And remember I chose to be by your side, nobody forced me. None of us were forced,” I walk into the small house.
“I know. I know,” she says placing herbs around the house, “But right now, we have to contact my mother and perhaps your ancestors to know what the hell is happening.”
“Annabelle, hey,” I grab her cheeks, kissing both of them, eventually her lips, “Just remember we are in this together. Yes, it is your battle, but you do have help.”
“Okay,” she says.
“And do you have food around here?”
“Nope. Been barren for a year. You have to do it old school.”
“And that is?”
“Fishing. I am sure you know how to fish?”
“Please, teach me your ways ancient one.”
“Wow, ancient.”
“Well aren’t you 500 plus years old. You kind of are ancient.”
“Come here young one. You have much to learn,” she smiles, something I have missed.
I follow her outside, going to the side of the house, picking up a boat and some old school and new school fishing rods. While she fixes the boat on the side, I fetch for some worms, locating a great hiding spot.
I get inside the boat with Annabelle, helping her use a rod to push the boat out of the reef and helping it float to the middle.
“Now fishing is fairly simple, Elijah. I have been told it is a sport, a man’s sport. So suffice to say I am surprised that you don’t even know how to fish,” she says as she ties the rods and the worms onto the hook.
“I know a little bit, but I never knew how to catch a fish. Never caught one,” I nervously laugh.
“Simple, just toss the bait over the boat and wait.”
“Duh,” I follow her exact movements.
We sat next to each other, side by side. It was silent apart from the creaking boat and the bird’s flapping wings.
“I love you, Annabelle,” I say...no I announce.
“What?” She chuckles a bit.
“I love you. I love you, I never felt this way about anyone, not even Danni. You make me feel alive, considering how dead you are. You give me goosebumps, in a good way, you give me the feels. I would do anything for you. Truly. The moment I knew I fell in love with you is when holding my hand during a spell, a spell in which I could communicate with Kenzie. I felt it in my hand, in my body. The point is I love you, Annabelle.”
“Elijah,” she whispers.
“I know we aren’t exactly a couple yet, but I have to let you know. I will wait for you to be fully committed.”
“Elijah.”
“Yeah?”
I see that we by the house, with a couple of fishes already stacked beneath me. The boat is also docked, already tied up. I look up at Annabelle who is smiling, happy at something.
“How? Did I?”
“Yup, your magic is coming full circle. Come, lets put these in the fridge.”
“Did you hear anything I said?”
She stiffens as she puts the fishes in the fridge. She goes up and I follow her with my head down.
Chapter 18
Annabelle
It was quiet when we entered the house. I literally have no words or the right emotion to say to Elijah right now. I mean I know I like him, maybe even love him, but I feel like we are going a little too fast around here. Then my mind pops to Danni and Zeke who fell in love quicker than sand falling in a hourglass.
Although my mom isn’t physically here, I can feel her presence nearby, as if she was walking here. I turn to face a sad Elijah putting the things in the fridge, not daring to look up at me. I hear a pair of feet thudding against the ground, cracking some leaves. I immediately rushed to the door to find myself greeting a delivery man.
“You can go back home. Forget you ever came here,” I say erasing the previous compulsion.
“Thank you,” he whispers then goes back into the car.
“Who was that?” Elijah enters the room.
“Someone who delivered the items I need to connect with Freddie. Although, I probably should have done this with Anna in the room, but then again I won’t know how Jax will feel.”
“Maybe you should do it with Anna, so she can say a final goodbye.”
“Perhaps you are right.”
I set the box on the round table, putting a protector spell on it in case any spirit would dare to open it. I also sat on the sofa, overthinking and overanalyzing the situation I am in. I felt the other side dip, feeling Elijah presence.
“Did you hear anything I said,” he asks softly breaking the silence.
“How could I not? I have super hearing,” I chuckle.
“Then what is your response.”
“I have none. Seriously, I don’t have any response other than ‘oh’ and ‘wow’. I know for a fact you are my mate, you are the one I am supposed to love in a weird vampir
e sense. But I guess I am just not ready to go back into relationships again because they always end up badly.”
“But that doesn’t mean you don’t try Annabelle. I know you feel the sensation when we touched, when we kissed, or every time we are near each other.”
“I know I guess I am not ready.”
“You are beyond ready my dear,” my mother’s voice calls in the room.
“Who or what was that?” Elijah looks around anxiously.
“That is my mother. Mother, please stop scaring the poor guy,” I get up looking for her spirit.
“I should be afraid of him, given that he is going to be my son in law. And the fact he is a Lockwood.”
“Mom.”
“Show yourself.”
“I can’t my dear. There is a lot of things the afterlife lets me do but showing myself to living beings is not one of them. Now, let’s discuss why Annabelle is very much hesitant and stubborn to start a relationship with you. You must forgive her, Elijah, she likes to carry a burden that doesn’t even belong to her.”
“You got that right,” Elijah scoffs.
“Hey,” I mutter back, shooting dagger eyes at him. He doesn’t do anything but his face says ‘Bite Me’.
“Why don’t I show you why,” my mother says as I feel wind picking up in doors. I turn to face my mother, or where I think she is at, narrowing my eyes. I know what she is doing and this could be really good or really bad.
“Mother! No!” I yell and that is when I fall into a deep sleep.
Elijah
“Annabelle? Annabelle?” I shake her body but I get no response. Worried, I look around for help or even a basic spell book, but I find none.
“Oh dear, don’t worry. She is getting some sleep, well more like rest as vampires don’t sleep. Now, this might sting a little but I am going to show you her last relationship and why that relationship did her more harm than good,” the voice reappears.
“Why?”
“So you won’t doubt Annabelle ever again.”
“But I never doubted-”
That is when I felt my mind enter a different world, a different dimension, going through what looks like space. At first it was slow enough where I can see the stars individually but it suddenly picked up and it became a blur.
It was hard wind pressing against my face and small voices of whisper ran pass me. Never in my life I felt so confused and shocked. My body is just flying through the middle of space and I finally see a small white hole.
Then I landed on a grassy lawn, the weeds and flowers blowing against the wind. Base on the cars, it looks the 1930′s maybe even 40′s. It was very different feel, especially with the houses being very basic.
A big dog runs through me, wagging its tail at a man who is coming out of the truck greeting its pup. The man looks at me but at the same time through me. His big blue eyes is rounded out by his oval socket. He has a black hair and beard, giving a very typical lumberjack vibe.
He shrugs then goes to the house, opening the front door. I get up from the grassy lawn and follow him inside the house. The basic interior screams 1940′s with a hint of dining vibes and a random jukebox in the corner.
“Flor? Flor? I am home!” The man shouts. He goes into the kitchen and sets down some papers and money.
“Coming Henry!” That angelic voice still sends me goosebumps.
I hear the heels clicking against the staircase and my eyes great a goddess when she enters the kitchen. Annabelle looks absolutely stunning in a shorter hairstyle and a classic red lips. Her complexion and facial features are all eerily the same, minus her personality.
“There is my wife. I have some good news,” Henry kisses her lips. I roll my eyes out of jealousy.
“And what would that be?”
“I sold the other side of the land for a great price. Now we can remodeled the house the way we wanted too!”
“YES! That is great news! Although, the country is not looking the same.”
“Honey, I know. There is a high chance I might get drafted, giving my family’s name, but right now let’s focus on building this house, our house.”
“You are right. Absolutely. So where do we begin?”
“How about we go celebrate first, my treat?” He gives her a seductive look. I felt my anger boil over as she responds back with a passionate kiss.
That is when she stops and looks outside. Somehow it just got thinner in air and quiet, I couldn’t even hear the dog. I turn to face Annabelle whose expression went from happy to scowling, and Henry noticed as well.
“Flor? Flor? Hey, hey, hey. Look at me. Do you need blood? Do you need to feed? Flor?” Henry shakes her.
“No. No. NO.” She cries.
“Ahhhhh, my dearest Annabelle. So nice to see you again. Tell me, did you miss me?” A tall British man comes into the kitchen, who looks similar to the guy Annabelle killed at her house.
“Flor? Who is he?” Henry tries protecting her.
“It is Flor now? Nah, you will always be my dearest Annabelle. I must say, I am heartbroken that you divorced me all those years ago. It has been hard finding you but alas I did. Now, imagine my anger when I found out that you remarried to some farmer. Annabelle, we could have ruled the world together and yet you chose to be some housewife.”
“Get the hell out of here Aldridge,” she growls.
“Hmmm, no can do love. We have some business to take care of,” he runs towards her, knocking her onto the table.
Henry rushes to her side but before he can even get near her, two other Brits grab each of his arms, pulling them ever so slightly. Henry screams fill the air as Annabelle gets up, attacking both Brits.
She grabs Henry and rushes out the door to put him into the car. I somehow can view the whole thing, watching her struggle to save this man’s life. She fought the three vampires as best as she could but it is proven that they overwhelmed her.
“Aldridge stop, please,” she begs. Something I have never seen.
“I like you begging. But not like this, in bed is preferred. But you left me and shattered my heart. Now it is time I shatter yours. Aldean.”
One of the brothers pick up Henry and tosses him in front of Aldridge. Aldridge grabs him so his front side is facing Annabelle. Her face is now streaming in tears, begging Aldridge to stop.
“Its okay honey. Its okay,” Henry tries consoling her, “I will be okay. I will meet you -”
He stops talking as his heart is out of his chest. Annabelle lets out her screams, breaking my heart in the process. That is when her screams come to an abrupt stop and she lifts her head, ember in her eyes.
She growls then pounces on Aldridge. However, the other brother pushes him to the side taking in the heat. Now she is in her wolf form, biting down on the arm of the other brother. She is then stuck on the side, sending flying into the wooden fence. All three brothers scramble to the feet, running away from the best.
She limps back to Henry’s lifeless body, shifting back into her human form. She lies her head on top of him, crying softly.
And that is when it ended.
***
“I hate you mom,” I hear Annabelle’s voice echo through.
“You didn’t want to do it, so I did,” her mother’s voice responded.
“We aren’t there in the relationship.”
“Lo chiami una relazione? Il povero uomo proclama fondamentalmente il suo amore per te e tutto ciò che hai avuto in risposta è stato il silenzio? Nessuna meraviglia che tu abbia paura di amarlo. Non sai come amare!”
{Translation: You call that a relationship? The poor man basically proclaim his love for you and all you had in response was silence? No wonder you are scared of loving him. You don’t know how to love!}
“Ci siamo appena conosciuti!”
{Translation: We just met!}
“Not an excuse!”
“Are you guys talking about me?” I finally say.
“More like how chicken Annabelle is,” her mother resp
onds, “I must go. Another one crossed into the afterlife. Try not to ruin the bed.”
“Thanks. Mom.”
“Afterlife?”
“Yeah where witches go to, sometimes werewolves and rarely any vampires. Mostly good hearted people. How do you feel?”
“Well I watched your husband died, so I feel kind of terrible.”
“Yikes, she showed you the full story. Sorry about that.”
“Have you moved on?”
“I did. I have. It took me a while, hence why I stay single for over 50 years. I know I should try but every time I am in a relationship something tragic happens and so that is why I hesitate. I do like you Elijah, but I need I guess more time.”
“You had 50 years, Annabelle that is plenty of time.”
“I guess you are right.”
“Come here, lay with me.”
She hesitates but eventually climbs into bed with me. The electricity between grew immensely, sending chills down my spine and rapidly beating my heart. I guess Annabelle felt the same when she lets out a small gasp.
“We are meant to be together. You feel it and I feel it too. I am going to love you like no other, better than Henry even. Sorry to say, but I am going to do better and you prepare for it, Annabelle,” I look down at her who looks up at me, her green eyes puts me into a small trance. I can look at those eyes all day and never get tired. I get up and hover over her, when her small yet powerful body lies underneath me.
“I will be here forever with you, Annabelle. I know I am human and you are vampire, but where is a will there’s a way. I promise we will have forever. And we will live happy.”
Then I kiss her.

Annabelle
Lips softer than velvet, moving slowly like water moving against the summer breeze, and above all, the kiss makes me feel stronger and even more powerful. I feel my heart pounding against my chest, heat rising all around me, especially at me core.
He moves on top of me putting his knees at each side of my hips, briefly stopping the kissing to remove his shirt. I must admit I have never seen him shirtless so imagine how my heart and body felt when I see his abs, lined up to perfection with a small tattoo lined against his collar bone.
