But what did happened to that demon?
Well, that demon went on terrorizing many villages for a few years. Years went on and it suddenly stop, as if it were hibernating. For a while, many villagers lived peacefully as the “Terror of the Mindless Man” faded away. But, then the day of the first vampires were born and it suddenly came back.
It came back.
Again, village by village it devoured souls. Allowing its body to take shape to the news souls, allowing it to live longer on the human earth. For it was frumoredt if a demon had no souls to feed on a consistent basis, then it vanishes.
But this demon was persistent. It went through a small Italian village, a village deep within the forest. The village was already in shambles when its head was killed by her own friend and the wolf pack leader killed in war. Witches from that small village tried to fire back at the demon but their powers were useless. If anything, it made the demon mad.
The demon then came across a young boy. Roughly 14 to 15 years old, trying his best to pick up the village house were his mother lied waiting to be buried. He too, with the little magic training he had, tried to fight back. He said a simple spell made for defense. Nothing occured and he braced for defeat.
Until he didn’t feel anything happening.
He look from his arms and see the demon being flown back, crashing through several trees. The young boy looked at the young girl in dirty, ragged, clothing and immediately recognize the scent. Or a small portion of that scent.
The young girl turned around and the young boy flinched in fear. His sister, who he thought she was long dead, appeared in front of him. Pale, swollen, tired, and orange eyes staring back at him. She urged him to get his things for they were leaving. The boy wanted to refuse but she was the only family left.
And it stayed that way.
The demon was quick thorough, getting up from the several trees. It came for the sister but it soon was stopped by a burst of white light. The siblings look ahead of them and see a powerful dark skin man, coming from the trees, enchanting words of grace to the being. Soon, the most powerful witch and elder appear alongside her husband.
She took the young sister’s hand and reassured her that everything will be fine. The sister knew to trust the elder but inside, she knew that something will happen. For that moment of doubt, something did occur.
The elder’s husband screamed in agony, causing the elder to look from the children. Her face went from calm and collective, to anger and despair. The siblings faced the demon and the man to see both arms deep in each other’s chest.
The husband whispers something to the wife which caused her to bellow out no in response. All it took was one look from the husband and the wife, obeyed. Strange. She then whispered a few words and phrases and a black misty hole appears.
It sucked them both in.
The strange yet strong man, gone.
The demon gone.
And for the first time in that century, the air seemed to feel...clear. As if a vacuum came in a sucked out all of the negative energy them demon had left behind during its run. The elder, though sad, took the young children away from the already diminished village and began training them. But eventually, it was only one.

Annabelle
“A demon? Are you sure this isn’t a episode of supernatural?” Anna sighs.
“No, it is not you silly girl. This demon isn’t like those petty demons we have grown accustomed too. It’s…,” Genevieve looks away.
“What is it,” I ask.
“Daryl and Maggied believed they found it. The key to turning into all three beings. I skimmed over the readings and I immediately notice the red flag. I tried stopping them but it only made them questioned my abilities as a witch.”
“Get to the point, Gene.”
“It’s a demon yes. But you know how demons take shape of the person’s soul and body?”
“Fucking great,” Zeke gets up, pacing.
“Wait, wait, wait, wait. If a demon needs to take a soul, shouldn’t they go to like a human? Because vampires have no soul, right?” Elijah asks.
“That is so idiotic. Of course vampires have souls, it is the only thing that actually keeps them alive!” Genevieve scowls at my mate.
“What red flag did they ignored?” I asked.
“Acceptance of a black spirit. I told them it meant a demon but they thought it meant a darkened heart.”
“Imbeciles.”
“Okay, how do we stop it,” my brother asks.
“Well, you really can’t-” then she was snatched from the feet and dragged. There I saw the wicked fiend, clawing through Genevieve as if she were raw meat.
It grabbed her face and stared into her eyes, the pale light from her heart entering the mouth of the demon.
“Delicious,” Daryl’s voice vaguely appears.
“Annabelle! Run!” Jax interrupts my thoughts.
Chapter 35
Elijah
What the fuck is happening?
One moment I see the being standing there all in its glory, then it swooshes on top of Annabelle. Annabelle was also slow, but not slow as me, to respond and they both go crashing down onto the dirt floor. Its big hands pin her down, taking the breath out of her.
Meanwhile, I just stood there.
“Elijah! Come on!” Zeke shouts out racing toward Annabelle.
But my feet was planted on that floor, shocked yet amazed at what I am seeing.
Annabelle then kicks the being only to see her foot go right through the body. She laid there, still pinned to the ground moving her leg. It then raises its hand slaps Annabelle hard across the face, blood spitting from her mouth.
When Ezekiel and Jax attempted to grab the demon, they ended up falling back. It seems that the demon can grab us but we cannot grab it. Anything that Annabelle, Zeke, or Jax do it fails immensely, sending them flying back and blood coming out of their mouths.
“Supernatural. Light, oh my god,” Anna fuddles in her bag.
“What?” I look at her.
“If that show gets anything right, it must be light. Demons hate light, holy water or something like that.”
“How can I help?”
“First we have to keep this dude in check. The wolves are already creating a barrier, we must create something similar.”
“And how would we do that?”
“Well, come over here and join our hands together. We are going to make a barrier big as this area.”
“Et spiritus apud me custodire….ab hoc malo, mundo,” she chants first. Then I joined in, “Et spiritus apud me custodire ab hoc malo, mundo!”
The earth began shaking from its core, the already dead leaves falling and the the rocks rumbling. The demon stops its parade on Annabelle, looking back at us and the light emitted from our hands. It makes its way towards us, leaving Annabelle coughing blood on the floor.
“Light might work on demons?” I ask Anna.
“Should!” She shouts.
“Let’s put our hands towards the being and see if we can blast it.”
“Doesn’t hurt to try.”
And with that, Anna and I point our hands towards the demon being that is running towards us at full speed. At first, nothing occurred instead we thought we saw our life flash before our eyes. But that flash was actually a part of that barrier we created, hitting the being hard sending him flying into the woods.
“Oh my god it actually worked!” Anna exclaimed Then she stumble back a bit, swaying back and forth.
“Anna, you good?” I ask her, helping her up.
“That took a tool out me. You?”
“No, I feel fine. Are you sure you are okay?”
“Yeah, yeah. Just need a breather. You should really check on Annabelle. She looks half beaten to death.”
Fuck. I am so stupid!
I let go of Anna and finally my foot ran to my mate. Extending her hand to Jax, she gets up, legs shaking and nearly tumbling back down.
Zeke reaches for her side, stabilizing her but also consoling her.
I have never seen her so angry.
Ever.
“You okay?” I ask the stupidest question ever.
“No. I am not,” she growls, “I am not done with that shit fuck.”
“Annabelle, before you do anything, you need to heal. It is no use going out like that and getting beaten again.”
“But…”
“No,” Jax holds her firmly, “Heal then fight. You know the rules.”
“Besides, you need to come up with a plan to defeat this guy,” an angelic voice appears out of nowhere.
I turn around to see my ancestor right in front of us, beams of light glowing around her. She truly does look angelic, nothing one would ever have in mind for a witch, especially a witch as old as her. That is when I notice everyone staring at her, even the wolves who do not particularly like her. When she notices the eyeballs glued on her, she somehow turns her glow off and glides towards us.
“Where is it?” She demands in a harsh tone.
“Somewhere in the bushes. I can’t really tell where I aimed at,” Anna chuckles lightly.
“You did well, my dear. That was smart thinking of you in regards to the use of light. How are you both feeling?”
“Drowsy but not exhausted,” Anna sighs.
“Like I ran for a bit,” I let out, “But I’m all good.”
“Annabelle?”
“Not all that great. I can feel my skin healing, he hit me hard and fast,” Annabelle grumbles.
“Here why don’t you take some of my blood to help you heal,” I hand out my wrist. She was hesitant at first, alarmed me in a way, but I ignored it the moment her fangs pinched my skin. And just like a cure, her cuts healed up quickly, the swelling around her eye was reduced and the scratch on her other eye disappeared quickly.
“Now that you are all better, we should come up with a plan. I guarantee you that the demon isn’t going to stay down forever,” Grace looks at all of us.
And with that, there was a howl. Not like the howl when Zeke called Annabelle, but a sad howl. One that Zeke, Danny, and Annabelle perked up, listening to it.
“From the pack,” Danny said softly.
“Its on the loose again, we need to get a plan going,” Zeke says.
“I agree, Annabelle where-,” I turned to face Annabelle who is not on the floor but nodding at Grace and looks to the side. She stood there for a bit then gives one last shake.
Annabelle
“Grace,” I said walking up to her.
“My dear?” She responds while casting a temporary barrier spell.
“You know what we have to do to defeat this thing, right?”
“Of course, but it won’t bode well for your friends and your mate.”
“They don’t have to know.”
“But they do.”
“They really don’t. This is my decision and I will deal with the consequences. What do you need for it to actually work?”
“The white light strong enough to severely damage a demon needs to be from that of a pure soul. Someone who is innocent yet has strong ancestral ties.”
“We can’t do the same approach you did all those years ago.”
“We need to forge that soul into a blade of sorts, attack it at the right moment. But…”
“But what?”
“We need to link it.”
“Link it to what?”
“A person with dark history, history of vengeance, crusade, and essentially loneliness. To balance it out.”
“And that’s where I come in?”
“Yes, my dear.”
“Will it work?”
“No guarantees, but it should.”
“If it doesn’t work but somehow we can weaken it, then suck it back to where it came from.”
“Are you sure about not telling your friends and family about this, Annabelle? This is a one way ticket.”
“The more they know, the more complicated it’ll get. Distractions will happen and errors will be made and I can’t have that. This….this whole getting my blood thing has caused so much death, jealousy, and hatred that I am okay with this going to the shit show.”
“Fair enough.”
Chapter 36
Annabelle
“Annabelle, are you hiding something?” Elijah asks as I walk to the group.
“Yeah,” I say bluntly.
“And that is?”
“There’s this spell from one of my memoirs. I have asked Grace to go and retrieved the Black Magic Vol. 3. I think it can at least minimize the strength of this demon.”
“Wait really?” Zeke asks.
“Yes, really. It is a long shot but it just might work. Maybe. Probably not. I don’t know,” I sigh.
“Well, what do you mean you don’t know? You made it!”
“Oh right Zeke, there are plenty of demonic vampires roaming this earth that I can practice on. How stupid can you get?,” I mocked.
“Zeke, I have to go help my pack. Are you coming?” Danny looks towards Zeke with worried eyes.
“Yeah, I’ll be there. Sis, stay safe and don’t do anything stupid,” he leans closer to me, whispering in my ear, “I know that look. Jax knows that look. Whatever you are thinking, don’t do it. We need you,” he hugs me, kisses my forehead and runs off with Danny.
“What was that all about?” Anna looks at the trail Danny and Zeke left behind.
“He’s being overly dramatic. You good, Anna? I may need you for this spell to work.”
“Yeah, I am good. How does this thing work?”
“Well, I can’t remember exactly at the top of my head, but it requires three to five witches. It takes up a lot of energy, draining to the point of going unconscious. You transfer all of your light energy, the good portion of your soul, to a weapon,” I pause, looking to the side.
“And the weapon is made out of a metal, called Europium. Hard to find but I managed to sneak my way into the facility and snatched it,” Grace smiles proudly at the object, “You owe me, Annabelle.”
“Of course Grace. Anything for you,” I say, “Elijah, come here.”
“Yes, babe?”
“You know how to shape things and put things together? Yes? Good. Form this into a blade of sorts, I don’t care, use your imagination. Anna, make sure you are pumped and ready because this will drain you. Grace? Feel like helping out?”
“Of course. I assume that the spell is within this awful book,” she picks up the heavy black leather book, the sides falling apart.
“Yes. Elijah, the spell for the blade is in there too. You guys form the blade while putting your energy into it,” I say handing the metal to Elijah.
“Like an energy blade?” Anna asks.
“Exactly.”
“Where are you going?”
“I am going to help out my brother and my sister-in-law. Jax?”
“I am going to win. You already know it,” Jax grins then runs off into the distance.
“I hate that man,” I grumble, turning to Elijah, I smiled softly, “See you later. Okay?”
“Okay,” he smiles back then looks at the book. My body aches and small tears form to the side but I quickly blink them away.
“Wait, Annabelle. I need your blood. It has to be attached to someone, and I am assuming you want to kill this thing,” Grace stops me before I head out.
“Right, stupid. Here,” I let one of my nails grow out and I slice my palm. Blood oozes out and drips it on the metal.
I watch it faze as Grace says the spell in an ancient Latin language. Only few could understand, thankfully Elijah and Anna could not understand.
And with that I ran off to where the battle had already begun, praying that all it will be fine. It should be fine. But in my rationalized conscious, I know it will not be alright.
***
When I got there, it was a bloodbath. Multiple wolves are lying down on the floor, barely breathing some just letting their last bre
ath go. I could not believe one thing could be so strong and cause so much destruction.
“It’s about time Annabelle!” I hear Zeke yell while he tries to punch the being to only miss completely and thrown back to the tree.
“Shut up!” I run towards the demon who immediately spots me and braces for impact. It knows that we have unfinished business.
That is when its hands strike me across the face and I stumble to the side. It is just as strong as most vampires with lots of years embedded in them. When I turn to face the demon I see the fists coming closer and closer. I shut my eyes and brace for impact, however, I felt nothing.
I opened my eyes and see Jax, with all his might, holding the fist, pushing it back. That's when I took the cue and begin to form a fist and punch the demon.
