She kissed my jawline as she said, "I know. I love you too."
I smiled. It was perfect. But the best moment of all was when Jen looked up to her uncle and said, "Did you know I'm the best April Fool's prank ever?"
Much to Weber's credit, he said with a straight face, "Yup. I was there, and do you know who the prank was on initially?"
Jen looked up at me and her mom and then at Weber. She was pretending that she didn't know. Then her smile cracked as she pointed her finger at her uncle. "You."
He raised an eyebrow. "She knows the whole story, then?"
We nodded. It'd been her favorite bedtime story lately. Both Renee and I had told her all about how we fell in love while trying to pull a fast one on my best friend. Then again, I’d loved that weekend so much myself. I’d taken the chance with Renee, and we’d gotten one hell of a life together.
