Then Eriko looked into Allecra's eyes and put her arms around her before she kissed her lips.

It was a soft and gentle kiss, it was meant to be a friendship kiss between two girls, but once it started, they couldn't stop. Eriko was in a state of arousal and half-drunk. She led Allecra by the hand onto her bed and climbed on top of her. The blonde alien tried several times to warn her about some hidden thing, but Eriko was like a kitten in heat.

"Half of her consciousness was probably left at the bottom of the wine bottle at that time," Allecra said. "But everything about her showed her determination to do it with me."

Eriko herself might have forgotten to feel the surprise. She was glistened with her own wetness. Eriko just went and stroked the pulsing length between Allecra's legs until she whimpered and let out heavy moans. Then Eriko mounted on Allecra's hardness. It slid right in, a loud groan elicited from both parties. They gasped, trying to adjust to the wonderful sparks that coursed through their bodies. Eriko gyrating and grounding on Allecra was like the end of the world and all that existed was their joined worlds.

"The morning after, we woke up in each other's arms. Eriko finally found out about my secret. To my surprise, she was more excited than shocked. She asked if we could do it again right after," Allecra's voice almost faded as if the memory exhausted her. "Eriko broke up with her boyfriend. And I spent a year in Japan with her because Eriko actually got pregnant."

  CHAPTER 23

“The night Eriko told me she was pregnant," Allecra went on with her story. "Her eyes were shining, her lips parted in a hopeful smile. I imagined that tiny life growing inside her, the tiny embryo with all my cells. So much information was hidden in that little world. My DNA had already determined what hair color the baby was to have, how tall it would grow, even whether it preferred vanilla to chocolate. It was an exciting thought. It was as miraculous as it sounded. Things went smoothly. Everyone was finally relieved that this time our dream didn't get blown away like dandelions in the wind."

But then came the dark storm that shuddered everything. One night, Eriko went into labor prematurely.

"The baby didn't make it," Allecra sighed gravely. "Eriko had two operations. She wouldn't have children anymore. She kept asking for the baby."

It was the saddest voice I'd ever heard from her.

"Was the baby a boy or a girl?" I asked her. Allecra didn't answer, but I had a feeling that she didn't know either. Her face darkened and her bright eyes got dimmer. It was obvious that it left her emotionally scarred, and we left the question hanging in the air then. After the miscarriage, she felt responsible for the loss of her baby and Eriko. Allecra stayed longer with the girl. She wanted to take care of Eriko’s emotional health, but they were constantly reminded of their still born baby.

"We were both just depressing each other by being together," Allecra said. "So we decided to move on, and I left Japan at last."

They ended up in Europe after that. Allecra was lost once again. The whole baby incident took a toll on her, and things began to get even shadier. Allecra resented herself and stopped trying to find a potential one for a time. But it wasn't long before they found a new Earthling.

"I met Claire when I was asked to be a freelance model," Allecra said.

"You worked as a model?" I said. A gentle angelic smile lit her expression as she nodded.

The fifth potential was a newly discovered model herself. Allecra was approached in a fancy club in Paris by some clothing company agents. They asked her if she was interested in modeling. Her look fascinated them greatly that they couldn't just ignore such a rare gem.

That was when Claire introduced herself to her.

"She also introduced me to a world of fashion," Allecra said. "In that world, imagination and creativity could have their freedom. 'Designing clothes is like my secret closet to Narnia,' Claire had told me. She didn't like it when people don’t know which things go together and which don’t. She said I was the first person she met that had everything about me to look right."

It went without saying that the girl was also intrigued by Allecra like the other potentials before her. Once they set their eyes on the blonde, there was no turning back. Allecra needed to forget what happened in Japan and welcomed all distractions. Xenon must have sped up the process, so Allecra was able to attract the Parisian girl in a sexual level.

“It was in a dressing room. It happened so fast, we both felt like being in the middle of a whirlwind. One moment, Claire was fitting me for a new design. The next moment, we were in each other’s arms and my body joined with hers,” Allecra said, speaking as if she was using someone else’s voice, robotic and emotionless. The secret was out in open. Claire was obviously confused, but she was a potential one, she couldn’t deny Allecra's touch even if she tried.

They were together for a while. Allecra began to use sex to divert her mind from the baby, even she knew it wouldn’t work with Claire. And like all Allecra’s relationship, the history repeated itself once again. The same patterns and unhappy-ending. They left Europe and moved to Fiji.

“I lived for several months, in a little village at the foot of a mountain. There was a secluded spring in the cave, and I climbed to swim in it every day.”

During that time, Jenera, the new potential girl saw Allecra. For some reason, she was hiding there, watching the blonde swimming in nudity. It was easy to imagine what a striking sight it must be for the human girl. Allecra had known for a while that Jenera was spying on her. She waited until the intrigued girl showed herself to her. The blonde was like sticky pollen attracting the bees. Jenera did come out at last.

Allecra was stark naked when she walked up to her. There was no need for them to speak out their passion. They already knew what the other wanted. And they went at it with no hesitation nor awkwardness at all. Allecra held the end of Jenera's flowing sarong as she spun. Layer after silky layer fell to her feet. They stood before each other, eyeing the other's nude bodies in sexual hunger.

Jenera's gaze was locked on Allecra's long stiffness. The girl lay herself on the rock and parted her shapely legs, conveying what she wanted. Allecra could barely contain her pent up needs. She knelt before the girl, crawling like a graceful leopard over that supine form. As she held herself, Allecra guided her hardness home through that sweet heaven gate. Then they started the passionate rhythm together.

“Jenera was what you would call a ‘free spirit’, who sought a spiritual peace of mind and body. She told me what we did was how goddesses make love to each other."

At that point, Allecra snorted a little.

They stayed together for a time, but like the others, Jenera could not conceive. Everything went back to square one.

Allecra had already expected that it would end unceremoniously this way.

Then they moved to America for the first time. She was almost eighteen by then.

“I stayed in New York at first,” Allecra said. “Then I found Eva. She was a violinist, a rising star in the music industry. I had seen her performance a number of times before we met in person. Triton is still her devoted fan.”

With a special arrangement, Allecra got to see the musician. They would go for dinner together and sometimes had a quick drink in a famous bar.

They talked about music. Eva talked about her passion, 'My parents gave me a plastic violin when I was five. I instantly felt a natural joy in producing each resonance. I then found pleasure in dividing times and transforming them into an effective row of tones. Whenever I play music, it gives me a sense of control in my life.'

Allecra realized that all the girls she met always had that special something about them. As the two accidentally touched, all Allecra could think of was that she wanted her. She also knew Eva wanted the same thing. The intensity was pulsing like electricity between them. Without either of them being the first to suggest it, they walked to a nearby hotel.

It went on like that for a while.

“One night, as we lay satiated on
the bed in each other's arms, Eva rolled on top of me, her lips smiling as she said three words, "I love you." I felt as if I was betraying her. It was like the sky came down on me. What I did with her had virtually nothing to do with ‘love’. All I wanted was to be held in her arms and buried myself inside her, and hopefully, impregnate her. When I said nothing and she didn't find what she looked for in my eyes, Eva settled for hope. She hoped to bear me a baby, so I could stay with her. Thinking back, the same thing also happened with the rest of my potentials. But it wasn't them, it was me. I failed them all.”

After the end of the long tale, Allecra looked at me. We sat in a long stretching silence. I should've been repulsed by all this, but with her, it was different. All I felt was sympathy and understanding.

Allecra then took my hand and placed it against her cheek.

“I’m sorry for spilling it out so graphically. I know this probably hurts you, but I believe, in the long run, an honest, detailed account will be the best to clear your doubt," she said softly. "I just want you to know that never in my life had I experienced such a suffocating need for someone. At first, I didn't know what was happening to me, but soon I realized it was something stronger than 'lust'. I still have this violent urge to have you, but it's so different now. Why this need arose in me so suddenly, why it happened with you and not someone else, I have no idea. But the feeling I feel now is impossible to curb. I want you in every way there is to want a person. I might have had sex with other girls before, but moments of intimacy like this... are rare. I had read about 'unbearable desires' in books, but until I met you I could never really imagine what such a thing meant. If I could be anything I wanted; I would be the one that you love."

I drove through the twilit city streets. Then I got off the highway heading homeward. My mind was still full of Allecra's stories. After I reached my aunt's house, it was after six. I had never been late, but everyone hadn't arrived yet. After I finished washing, I went down and started making shashlikee chicken and pelmeni, a Russian dish like a dumpling with butter and sour cream.

While I was half way through with the meal, the twins got home. Jay came over and sat down on the island. I heard him talking about random stuff on the phone for a while before I felt his eyes watching me. Then Piper came to join us, which made the awkwardness less unbearable.

"Smell good," Piper said, peering over my cooking pot. "You do have the wife material, Nina, I'm so jealous."

Taken out of context this 'wife material' wasn't a straightforward compliment. Why are girls who have basic survival skills being praised as just someone's wife? But before I could say anything, Jay's voice came to me.

"Nina?" Jay said. "Can I ask you something?”

I swirled around to look at him with a frown.

  “Yeah?”

“Did any guy ever hurt you?"

  "No, why?" I said.

"Well, I was just wondering maybe some guy broke your heart and you turn to girls instead."

"Did Illamas ever hurt you, Jay?" I asked him. He seemed taken aback by my question.

"What? No," he said with a confused look. "What are you talking about?"

"Then why are you into girls and not llamas?"

Piper barked a laugh. Jay glared at his sister before he turned to me again.

"Well—" he said, blinking. "I just like girls."

"So the same thing with me, no one hurts me. I just like girls," I said and returned to my cooking again.

"But don't you think maybe you just haven't met the right guy yet? How do you know you're a lesbian?" he continued. I turned off the electric stove as the soup was done and walked over to the island and sat down in front of Jay. He leaned away from me as if he was afraid I would slap him, which I kind of considered.

"Can I ask you something, Jay?" I said as he kept looking at me nervously. "Are you sexually attracted to llamas?"

Piper, who was listening to our talk, was trying to hold her laugh beside me.

"What?! No!" Jay squeaked. "Nina, what kind of a question is that?"

"Then how do you know? Maybe you haven't met the right llama yet," I said. Piper burst out laughing again while Jay looked deeply wounded.

"You girls are so mean," he pouted. "I'm not talking to you anymore."

The next morning, the sky was hazy and overcast, but the weather was not especially cold. I decided to wear a leather jacket and a silk scarf around my neck. Somewhere in my mind, I had noticed the change. I was starting to dress up again. Not that I had been badly dressed before. My fashion sense was no longer the blunt and tasteless one.

After I parked my car at the lot, I expected Allecra to be there, but she wasn't. I waited for her to show up until the first bell sounded, forcing me to leave. This had never happened before, and it left my heart a bit deflated. Did her absence have anything to do with the walk down the memory lane yesterday?

In class, I couldn't concentrate. Allecra must be upset about what she did, or what happened to the baby. I shouldn't have forced her to tell me all this. When I got to Language Arts, the seat she occupied was still empty. I walked listlessly towards our desks and sat down with a sigh. I turned my gaze to the window. The sky was brighter but not enough to brighten my mood.

Just out of nowhere, Xenon walked into the room. She didn't seem astonished to see me as I did. But I tried to react to it with calmness as if our encounter was entirely natural. We exchanged no greetings as if it had all been prearranged. I stared at her face, and she looked at me with a flickering light in her eyes. I just realized her eyes were lighter than Allecra's, like the color of topaz. But they were intense and sharp like the eyes of a snake’s.

She wore a white top under a black jacket and a tight skirt. She had some bracelets that matched her small gold earrings and flat platinum necklace. Her face was smooth like a porcelain sculpture. She was beautiful with the same enigmatic gaze just like her sister. Then she sat down next to me and just stared at me some more. I looked back at her topaz eyes. Everyone was looking at us like they were watching a horror movie. I was going to say something when she started first.

"Allecra is in pain," she said.

"Huh?" I said, startled by the news. "Is she okay?"

"Come with me if you want to know," she said and stood to leave. I saw her brother was waiting by the door. There was something about the way she just walked away that made me follow.

The three of us got out of the building together. Triton had disappeared and a moment later, a sleek black open-top Ferrari rolled in. The cushion was covered with glossy red leather, and it smelled brand new. Xenon motioned for me to get into the passenger seat and then she climbed in beside me. Triton got the black roof back on and shifted the gear before driving out of the campus.

"I get that you and my sister haven't done it yet," Xenon spoke. I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to respond. Triton glanced at me through the rearview mirror. Xenon frowned and snapped her head to him. It was as if she reacted to something I couldn't hear.

"Screw her age," she said. "We have no time to waste for this nonsense anymore."

It was as if they had a private conversation, only Triton didn't speak anything. Xenon turned to me again.

"You know everything about us, Nina," she said. "You can have whatever you want, but we only ask you for one thing."

"I want nothing from you," I said. "And you have no right to ask me anything either."

Xenon stared at me. Triton looked a bit surprised but I could see a smile flickered on his lips.

"I know you want my sister. I could see it in your mind."

I remembered what Allecra told me about her sister and her uncanny ability to implant sexual nightmare in my head.

"It was all your doing," I said in accusation.

"Oh, but it seemed like it was part of your wild fantasies with Allecra. I was just adding fuel to the flame," she said with a smirk.

"Allecra and I doing it or not, it doesn't
concern you," I said firmly.

"If you still don't consent to it," the dark-hair girl said, this time her voice was lower. "I will make her leave you. Surely there are other potential Earthlings out there. Don't think you're that important to us."

She was looking at me, waiting for me to surrender to her threat.

"If Allecra wants to, then she obviously can," I said. "I'm not stopping her."

Xenon was taken aback by my declaration. Triton let out a quiet chuckle. The girl sighed and then leaned back on the seat.

"Now I see why," was all she said.

The Ferrari was like a time capsule in a way. A space capsule. It went swiftly, taking me through the wormhole of time. Before I knew it, we had reached an outskirt of the city. I should've been worried or gotten a panic attack at the notion of being abducted, but I felt no fear.

They brought me to a private neighborhood. There was only one road that twisted and turned. On both sides lined up huge overhanging trees and walls of granite rock. We turned towards a gate, which opened itself. The car crawled into a heavily wooded estate with pines, oaks, maples and cypress. It did not look like an estate as the rest of the residence there. It was cool, dark and quiet more like a forest.

But after the car drove further inside, the trees were replaced by manicured garden and huge green lawn dotted with palm trees. Then I saw a white house bathed in direct sunlight unbroken by clouds. It was a futuristic two-storey house shaped like Legos stacking on top of each other. The verandas had glass railing and wide glass windows. A pristine swimming pool was right next to the house. Beyond it was the view of the stretching city and the long white beach against the blueness of the Californian sea.
