Dedications
I want to dedicate this book to my publisher Ca$h. This man literally gave me the opportunity to showcase my craft and he believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. The motivational conversations that we had were exactly what I needed when I didn’t think I was doing good with my writing.
With his great wisdom and knowledge of the industry, Ca$h paved the way for me to strive. When I signed the contract to join the Lockdown Publication family, I didn’t know what I was getting into. I can honestly say, I wouldn’t change anything about my decision.
Bossman, I want you to know that I appreciate you and Shawn so much. The growth that I see in my writing comes from the encouraging words from you two. Thank you.
The world is ours when it comes to LDP! Congratulations again on your release! It’s been a month and some change and there’s great things in store for you, Bossman. Take everything day by day and things will come together as they may. Your second chance will be the best one for you…I’m claiming it!
I can’t thank you enough for believing in me. This book goes hard and I hope I make you proud with it. Ca$h you are appreciated, THANK YOU!
Chapter 1
Mauricio
Pulling up to the trap that I ran on 26th street, I cut the engine. The bass that boomed from the trap could be heard from inside my ride. It didn’t look like these mufuckas were selling dope, in fact I knew they weren’t. There wasn’t one nigga outside for the crackheads to buy shit from. As I got out the car, a fiend rushed up to me.
“Yo, my man, can I get three blows from you? I’ve been waiting out here for the longest and no one is answering the door.”
Hearing him say that pissed me off because I knew money wasn’t being made. I went back to my car and grabbed the three rocks he asked for and gave him his medicine. He hurried off fast looking over his shoulder. I took a deep breath before I walked toward the crib slowly trying to control my anger.
I turned the knob hoping and praying it was locked, but it wasn’t. There was nothing that could stop the rage that was ripping through my bloodstream at that moment. I walked in and there was a full-blown sex session taking place. These fools had bitches, drinks, loud, and the music turned up to the max. Mell was in the corner getting his shit wet with his eyes closed and his mouth hanging open. The broad that was polishing his knob was giving his stupid ass the business because he was oblivious that I was there.
Lil Jay was sitting on the sofa with two bitches sucking his dick and balls, with his eyes closed. Sergio and Rico were having a threesome with a thick bitch in the corner. One was fucking her viciously, while the other massaged her scalp as she swallowed his tool.
There were several more of my workers that were getting it on with bitches in different parts of the room. There was one big ass orgy taking place on my dime. I walked quietly to the back of the house where there were three bedrooms. The party continued back there as well. I told these knuckleheads to come to this trap for a meeting, but they were disrespecting my shit to the fullest. Not only that, I could’ve been any damn body that walked in there.
“Get the fuck up and get to the front of this mufucka! Y’all got a lot of fuckin’ nerve!” I yelled walking out repeating the shit in the other bedrooms. Walking back to the front of the house, them niggas still didn’t know I was walking through that bitch. I couldn’t stand there another minute watching these stupid idiots do they thang.
Walking over to the stereo, I turned the music off. Not one person stopped what the fuck they were doing. It was a damn shame I had to make my presence known. They should’ve been alert at all times. “What the fuck you niggas on?” With the sound of my voice, everyone started scrambling around like roaches trying to find clothes and covering up their bodies. “I’ve been here for well over ten minutes and not one of y’all knew I was here! This ain’t no damn brothel, get these bitches out of here! All of you mufuckas done lost ya minds! I’m six four, two sixty-five, a big mufucka and y’all didn’t see my ass when I entered! Anybody could’ve walked in here and murked all you dummies and my money would’ve walked out with them. This is the reason I tell y’all I don’t want no damn body in my shit! But you niggas don’t listen!”
The four muthafuckas and their hoes came from the back looking stupid as fuck. I gave each of them the look of death and the females were taking their walk of shame with their heads down. If they were going to trick the fuck off, they needed to learn to wear that shit with pride. I thought to myself. Lil Jay broke into my thoughts when he opened his mouth.
“Ricio—,” Lil Jay tried to speak, but I cut his ass right off.
“Shut the fuck up! I don’t want to hear shit!” I looked around and noticed the females were dressed. “You hoes can bounce, y’all gargled enough babies around this bitch for one night, get the fuck out.”
“Who you calling a hoe, nigga? Yo’ mama’s a hoe, bitch!”
At that moment everybody paused. Shawty fucked up when she let that slick shit slide out her throat. She couldn’t have known t
hat I didn’t take disrespect lightly. Her being a female didn’t give her a pass by any means.
Looking shawty up and down, I had to do a double take. She was stacked in all the right places and was cute as hell. I loved me a redbone, but her mouthpiece made her ugly as fuck. On top of that, she called my mama a hoe and my OG was chillin’ with my Pops and the Man Upstairs. I pulled my .44 from behind my back and shot that bitch right between her eyes. Boc! Her body appeared to fall in slow motion, but her head burst open like a watermelon slapping the concrete.
One of the females let out a shrieking cry but I didn’t give a fuck. I had no remorse for what I had done. “I don’t give a fuck who you are, if you disrespect me, I have no words for you at all. But there will be some hot shit that will burn the shit out ya ass. This ain’t the Bunny Ranch and don’t none of you niggas look like Hugh Hefner. If turning up is what you want to do, so be it. Do it on yo’ own time. This is a business, not a playground. Let me know if you can’t handle it and you can leave when the ladies leave, won’t be no coming back! Don’t think none of y’all are irreplaceable, because I can find some hungry lil niggas out there in the streets that want to get this money that y’all been passing up for hours. I shouldn’t have to come over here to serve fiends, that’s what y’all here for!”
“You didn’t have to kill her, Ricio.” Lil Jay cried out.
I glanced in his direction and wanted to slap his pussy ass. He was crying legit real tears over that wannabe gangsta ass bitch. He should’ve told her how the fuck I rolled and maybe she’d still be breathing. “Fuck you and yo’ punk ass tears, Jay! You should’ve trained that bitch to keep her damn mouth closed. But since you love her so much, go join that hoe.”
Boc! I shot him straight through the heart and didn’t even watch to see where his body landed. Glancing around the room I noticed no one moved a muscle. It was like they were in the middle of a game of red light, green light and they were forced to freeze in place.
“I’m gon’ say this one time and one time only. Y’all don’t know shit and ya ain’t seen shit. Once you leave this mufucka, twelve bet not show up. If I have any heat around my establishment, I’ll be to see you and ya whole family. That goes for every last one of y’all, now get the fuck out!”
As the last female left the trap, the only thing I could do was shake my head. This temper of mine had to be checked. Nobody could deny that it had become a problem. I called the cleanup crew to come clean up the mess I had made.
“Yo, the kitchen sink is leaking in apartment A, there’s a toilet that’s clogged too.”
“Say less.”
That was the code for two bodies so they would know what they were working with. Pacing the floor back and forth, I was frustrated. These young niggas gon’ make me go postal. I’m tired of having to preach to them about the importance of staying alert. They are going to get serious about this shit or come up missing, simple as that. Floyd was always on my ass about them slacking, I was tired of him coming at me because of their bullshit.
“Now that I can conduct business, make this my first and last time coming to my place of business and there’s bullshit like what I saw going down. That’s not how the fuck I operate. The only occupants that should be in here are the people that work for me, no one else. If you ain’t about money, you can leave this bitch, in a body bag.” I said looking into the eyes of each of them.
Before I could continue talking, the sound of the special knock echoed through the house. “It’s open!” I said with venom dripping off my lips.
My loyal niggas Sosa, Butta, Psycho, AK, Face, Felon, and Fats walked through the door. With all the shit that had gone on, I forgot I’d told them to meet me at the trap. We’ve all been rocking for years and Sosa was my brother. When my Pops died, Big Jim put us on and gave us our own spot to run. I brought all my niggas in with me. When I eat, they’re damn sure going to eat with me. It’s been the eight of us for the past four years and I trust them with my life.
“Damn, Ricio, what the fuck is this shit Sosa asked stepping over the bodies that were laid out on the floor.
“Brah, you know how it goes, I can’t have nobody testing my mufuckin’ gangsta! I don’t give a fuck if it was a bitch. Somebody should’ve taught her ass the do’s and don’ts of addressing a real nigga.”
“Well what the fuck happened to Lil Jay?” Felon asked looking around at the faces of the scary niggas that I was lecturing minutes before.
“That nigga wanted to cry about me shooting his bitch, so I shot his ass so they could be together! Fuck you mean?”
Sosa glanced around the room after cutting his eyes at me, trying to scope out a nigga that would talk to him about what went down. He focused his attention on a nigga named Sergio.
“Aye, Sergio, what the hell went on in this muthafucka, fam? And don’t lie either, I want the raw deal.” Sosa said as he walked toward him.
“We had a couple bitches come through just to chill with for a minute, you know—”
Sosa was shaking his head the entire time he was talking like, ‘nope nigga, you know that’s a no no. All that could be seen was the fire in his eyes because like myself, he didn’t like anyone messing with his cash flow. Sosa was the calm before the storm of the crew and he didn’t like when niggas weren’t about making money.
“So, y’all thought it was trill to have females in the trap? This girl’s blood is on all y’all hands now. This shit could’ve been avoided. Why the fuck didn’t y’all go to Adrianna’s or some shit? The muthafuckin’ trap isn’t a place to play with ya dicks! It’s a business and will be treated as such. Take this shit as a warning, my niggas, this is not the shit y’all want.
There were a bunch of ‘my bad, and we understand’ coming from all fifteen of them, but we needed to discuss business. I had too much money in the street for mufuckas to be sitting around scratching their asses thinking shit was sweet. They needed to get their heads in the game and keep it there.
“We got a shipment coming in three days, I’m gon’ need all y’all to be on ya shit. There’s no room for slackin’. Straight business and getting this money, ya feel me? Butta, Fats, AK, and Psycho will be at the warehouse as usual for the shipment. Face, and Felon, I want y’all at the Empire waiting for the others to come through for the drop-off. Sosa and I will come through and help get shit in order once we get confirmation that all is good. The rest of you mufuckas, be ready to fill ya traps to feed these fiend’s appetites. Keep the phones on and be ready to roll, I’m not trying to hear no excuses. Let’s get this money, meeting adjourned.”
As the niggas that didn’t work in that particular trap filed out, I was studying every last one of them for signs of deception. I didn’t give a fuck about rockin’ anybody to sleep if I thought they were disloyal. I hated a snake mufucka with a passion.
“Aye brah, let’s step outside for a few so I can holla at you.” Sosa said not waiting on a response as he stormed out the door.
I knew he was about to talk shit about what I had done. Shooting Lil jay and his bitch was overboard but I couldn’t take the shit back now. Regret was something I didn’t feel. Shit, in the last four years, I didn’t possess any feelings at all.
“Mauricio, you are gon’ have to calm the fuck down brah!” he said as soon as I stepped outside. You can’t keep letting your trigger finger make the decisions for you. I know things has been hard since Pops and ma were taken away from us, I still feel that shit too. It will only draw unnecessary heat our way. Save that shit for the niggas in the streets. You have to learn to control yourself.”
“I try to control my anger, Sosa! That shit is easier said than done! You weren’t there to see papí get shot in the back of the fuckin’ head, or ma laying on the kitchen floor with a needle sticking out her arm, I was! ¡Todavía tengo pesadillas sobre esa mierda! Entonces, no me digas cómo coňo sentir! (I still have nightmares about that shit! So, don’t tell me how the fuck to feel!)” When I was extremely upset, I tended to revert fro
m English to Spanish.
“I’m not telling you how you should feel. All I’m saying is, you have to control yo’ temper. What the fuck did you accomplish by killin’ two muthafuckas, Ricio? Not shit! Getting locked the fuck up for murder is not gon’ solve none of yo’ problems. For you to be the oldest of us all, you have been making dumb ass mistakes for no reason, other than letting your frustrations out. Go to the gym and punch a bag or something. I’m not trying to be out here without you, brah.”
“I can do what the fuck I want to do. Let me deal with shit my way.”
“Aight, I tried. A hard head makes a soft ass, nigga. I won’t say shit else about it.”
“Good.”
Sosa was always trying to be on that be cool ass shit, that ain’t me no more. He already knows what type of person life turned me into. I wish he would see that shit for what it was and keep that rationing mentality for himself. I wasn’t calming shit down until I found out what happened to my parents. I left his ass standing on the front lawn and got in my whip burning rubber.
Chapter 2
Sosa
I watched as Mauricio walked to his car and peeled off. Pissing him off was the last thing I wanted to do. His ass would fuck around and take his frustrations out on the first person that said something he didn’t like. He wasn’t always a loose cannon, but I was the only one that could calm him down somewhat since our parents passed away four years prior.
My brother’s and I didn’t choose the life that we lived, it was something that was forced upon us. My little brother Maximo and I were still considered minors when papí was killed and ma died. We were ordered to live with papí’s right hand man, Big Jim. He had documentation signed by papí stating if anything should happen to them, that’s who we would live with.
