Killian: Heartlands Motorcycle Club

Page 7

by Turner, Olivia T.

It’s been a month since we’ve been together and every day is better than the last. We got married at the courthouse the day after the incident in the street. Killian still wanted to get married that day, but I refused to get married to a groom with blood all over his shirt. So, we compromised and waited a day.

My mother was shocked when I told her I wasn’t coming home and that college just wasn’t for me. But, once I started talking about Killian, she understood. She said she’d never heard such happiness in my voice and that I better bring him home to meet her so she could see if his tattooed arms were as nice as I was droning on about.

“Okay, so wine here,” Killian says as he waves his hands through the air. “A take-out coffee area here. We fix up the counter and change the windows.”

I just watch him with a smile as he goes on. He’s so animated. He’s so happy.

  And so am I.

After this, we’re headed to check out an office building to buy and then a six-unit apartment complex. Killian is determined to have a real estate empire now that he’s gone straight and I’m excited to build it with him.

“Ready?” he asks when it’s time to leave.

“Just a sec. I have to go pee.”

I head to the bathroom in the back and spot a pregnancy test along the way. I stop, realizing that it’s been a while since I had my last period.

Oh my God… It can’t be. Can it?

I grab a box from the shelf and hurry into the bathroom. It’s awkward peeing on a stick, but all of that disappears when I see the little positive sign on the indicator.

My mind scatters as I stare at it. I’m too excited to think straight.

I’m pregnant with Killian’s child. Just when I thought this day couldn’t get any better…

“Let’s go, kitten,” Killian says when I come out. He grabs my hand and starts rambling on about the gas station and the office building we’re about to see, but I can’t hear any of it. My heart is racing.

He opens the door to let me through and then stops when he sees my face. “What are you smiling about?”

I can’t even talk. So, I just hand him the stick.

“What’s this?” His face lights up when he finally realizes what he’s looking at. “No! Is this real? Are you… pregnant?”

I can feel my cheeks burning as my grin widens. Happy tears start prickling my eyes as I nod up and down.

“You’re pregnant!” he shouts like it’s the best news he’s ever heard. “Fuck yes!”

He grabs me and spins me around, before realizing that I’m holding some precious cargo. “Sorry!” he says as he carefully puts me down and touches me like I’m made of glass.

“It’s okay,” I say with a laugh. “I’m not breakable yet. Our little pea is probably smaller than a poppy seed at this point.”

“A poppy seed,” he whispers as he drops to his knee and kisses my stomach. “I’m already in love with it.”

I slide my fingers through his hair and hold his cheek against my stomach. “So am I.”

I’m in love with this man, in love with my baby, and for the first time ever, in love with life.

How can it get any better than this?

  One year later…

“I never thought I’d see the day that the Terrible Troy Conley is singing nursery rhymes,” Killian says with a laugh.

“I think it’s adorable,” I say as Troy looks up at us from the floor. He’s singing to our little Catherine, who is now three months old.

“I can’t help it,” Troy says. “She’s so damn cute. Just don’t tell the guys at the club. I’ll be replaced as President in no time.”

“Your secret is safe with us,” I say with a laugh as he tickles our little girl’s big belly.

She’s reaching up and trying to grab his face. The poor guy has been single for years. Killian’s mother died in a car accident when he was a kid and Troy has been single since. He’s a good-looking older man—a true silver fox—and I hope he can find a woman to make him happy. Maybe, I’ll start looking to help him find one…

Seeing Troy with his granddaughter is nice, but it also hurts a little bit. I ran into my father last week at the grocery store and he was quite taken with Catherine as well. He asked how I was doing and how Killian was, which is a start. He even asked if I could come over for coffee so he could see his granddaughter, so maybe things are looking up between us. I said I would and he looked thrilled.

I glance over at Killian and he smiles at me and takes my hand in his. He’s been great with me and Catherine. He even lets me sleep throughout the night. Sometimes, I’ll get up to an empty bed and see him sitting on the rocking chair, feeding her with a bottle as she snuggles up against his large bare chest.

Last night, I watched them until Catherine fell back to sleep. He carefully put her back in the crib and then picked me up and brought me back to bed. He didn’t let me sleep after that, but I didn’t mind. It felt so good to have him on top of me. I’ve been self-conscious about my new body with all of the baby weight still on it, but he seems to love it and can’t get enough of my new curves.

After Troy leaves and Catherine is having her afternoon nap, Killian gives me that look. My body starts tingling with anticipation as he comes over and picks me up.

“What’s going through that mind of yours?” I ask as I look into his dark eyes. I know what’s going through it. I just like to hear him say it.

“You on the bed, naked,” he says with a deep huskiness to his voice. “That’s what’s going through my head. It’s always going through my head.”

“Well then,” I say with a grin as I feel his heart start to pound behind that huge chest of his. “Let’s not waste any more time.”

“I was thinking the same thing.”

He carries me up the stairs and into the bedroom. I’m already so wet as he places me onto the bed and looks at me with that possessive stare.

How long do I have to wait before I can have another kid?

He rips off his shirt and I drag my gaze down his abs to the thick rod in his pants that’s getting harder and longer before my very eyes.

Because I think I’m ready to let him put another one in me.

  Maybe two.

  Ten years later…

“Remember the first time we were here?” I say to Daisy as I wrap my arms around her. We’re sitting on the grass and I’m holding her tightly as we watch our four kids playing in the lake.

We were both so young the first time we kissed here beside Hollow Lake. I remember my whole body coming alive and lighting on fire, telling me that life would never be the same now that this sweet girl was in it.

I tighten my grip and kiss the top of her head, breathing in the lavender smell of her shampoo. I love this smell.

And my life hasn’t been the same. It’s been infinitely better with my flower Daisy by my side. As soon as she got pregnant, my old outlaw life was dead. I was done with it. I still kept my bike and stayed in my crew, but that’s about it. No drugs. No crime. Just the occasional fight if someone dares to get to close to my girl. I’ll never give that up. She’s too precious and needs a pit-bull like me beside her for protection.

“I do remember,” Daisy says as she leans against my chest and moans in content. “It was my first kiss.”

“I hope it was a good one,” I say with a grin. I know it was. I can still see the stunned look on her face when I pulled away—lips puckered, eyes closed, chin tilted up. It was perfect.

“It was okay,” she says with a laugh.

I tickle her sides and she can’t help but wiggle around as she laughs. My girl is so ticklish and I know just the right spots to get her. She turns onto her knees and I swallow hard when she looks at my lips with those sexy hazel eyes.

This woman still kills me. She’s given me four children and I’m still amazed by her every day. She’s the one for me, there’s n
o fucking doubt about that.

We’ve built a real estate empire together and I couldn’t have done it without her. She’s got an eye for a deal and manages them so well. Together, we own over forty-eight properties and our portfolio is growing every year. Who needs crime when business pays so well?

And having a family with four kids is more than enough adventure for me. It’s a battle to get down the hall without stepping on at least six Lego pieces.

“I can’t really remember the kiss,” she says as she nibbles her bottom lip, which she knows always drives me crazy. “Was there tongue?”

“Do I ever kiss you without tongue?”

She laughs and the sound makes my chest feel like it’s going to explode. “No. You don’t.”

“Perhaps you need a refresher? Something to jog your memory?”

She licks her lips and nods. “I think I do.”

I wrap my arms around her sweet body and pull her into me. Her lips part as I crush mine against them, kissing her so hard that she’ll never forget it. She moans as I slide my tongue against hers and start to pull up her shirt.

“Watch those hands,” she says after pulling away. “We’re not alone like we were a decade ago.”

“Eww!” Matthew shouts from the lake. “Mom and Dad are kissing again!”

“Gross!” Catherine shouts and then all four of them are pretending they’re throwing up and gagging.

“I don’t remember having an audience last time,” I say with a laugh before I kiss her again.

She shrugs when I pull away. “The first time is always the best.”

  “You really believe that?”

“No,” she says with a shake of her head. “With you, every time is the best.”

“I couldn’t have said it better myself,” I say as I grab her chin and pull her sexy mouth in for more.

We moan with our tongues dancing as our kids complain and act all grossed out and horrified from the lake.

  It’s too bad for them.

I’m not even close to finished kissing my Daisy. My girl. My kitten.

  My soul mate.

  My everything.

  30 years later…

Over the years, I’ve seen Killian look gut-wrenchingly sexy in so many ways—fixing my car with no shirt on, lifting weights in the garage, riding his motorcycle down the road with his hair blowing in the wind and a devilish smile on his face—but I don’t think there’s anything as sexy as seeing him bouncing our grandchild on his knee.

I can’t figure out who has the bigger smile—Killian as he makes funny faces, little Andrew as he doubles over laughing at his grandpa, or me as I watch it all with my heart hurting it’s so full.

“He acts real tough, but I can tell he’s a big softie inside,” Matthew’s wife Amy says to me with a smile as we watch them play.

“When it comes to his family,” I say with a nod, “there’s no bigger softie on the planet than Killian Conley.”

When it comes to protecting his family and protecting me, however… well, there’s no fiercer lion than my big man.

“Oh no,” Amy says with a sniff. “He needs a change.”

She still has that new mom nose where she can smell a dirty diaper before anyone else.

“Sorry, grandpa K,” she says as she grabs Andrew from his hands. “I need to steal him before he stinks up the place and you won’t invite us back.”

Amy disappears into the other room and Killian slumps his shoulders as he watches them go.

“That’s not fair,” he says as he turns to me. “We were bonding.”

“You can bounce me on your knee,” I say with a mischievous grin as I strut over to him and sit on his knee. “I was getting jealous over there.”

He grins back as his possessive arms wrap around me. “Don’t be jealous, kitten. You know you’re always my number one.”

My heart does a little flip when he pulls me and kisses me on the lips. After all these years, this man still gets my motor revving.

I don’t know how he still does it.

His hand starts to creep south until I slap it away.

“Our daughter-in-law is here with our grandson,” I warn him with a playful frown. “Keep your hands to yourself.”

“You know I can’t resist you, kitten,” he growls against my neck, making me giggle. “I never could.”

This time I don’t slap his hand away as it creeps down. He’s always managed to get what he wants when it comes to me. How can I resist him? I never stood a chance.

We hear Amy coming back down the hall and I jump off him and practically leap to the other side of the room before she walks in.

“We’re going to have to leave,” she says as Andrew reaches for Killian. “It’s time for his nap.”

The boy is always reaching for him. I’m a little jealous that my silver fox is his favorite grandparent, but it’s still nice to see.

We see them to the door and give them a warm goodbye. Once her car is rolling down the street, Killian turns to me with fire and passion in his eyes.

I grin, knowing I’m in for a hell of a good afternoon.

We’re already undressing as he closes the door.

I don’t think we’re going to make it to the bedroom…
