He kissed her again and once again Mia giggled.

“Let’s go home,” Emma said. She turned to Jeff who was standing back a bit watching all this unfold before him. He smiled at her and gave her a looked that said everything was going to be all right.

“What made you come?” Emma asked as they walked side my side back to her house.

“Let’s just say” he said as he slid his arm around her shoulder. “If we ever have another child and it’s a little girl I think Jenna is a perfect name.”

  Chapter 36

The warm August sun shone down on all the people sitting in the beautiful grounds of Kinnitty Castle. All the guests sat waiting for their first glimpse of the bride. A very nervous Zach stood in front of their friends and family and smiled. He kept looking back over his shoulder and wondered were his beautiful bride could be. She was already five minutes late.

Then Zach’s heart leaped as soft music finally began to play and the all the heads turned towards the back of the seating area. He took a deep breath and slowly turned around and waited for the first glimpse of his future wife.

Suddenly there stood Mia, in her pretty white dress with little white flowers in her golden curly hair that fell around her shoulders. She tightly gripped her basket and slowly began to walk down towards the front of the aisle and smiled at all the people who were gathered for this special day.

When she reached the front, she smiled happily at Zach as he filled with pure pride, wiped tears of joy from his eyes.

She was followed by Louise who was carry a smiling Lily, who was looking at all the people in amazement, with a chorus of oohs and ahhs as the made their way to the front and took their place next to Mia.

Then the moment they were all waiting for. Zach looked up and held his breath as he waited for Emma to appear. And there she was.

She was even more beautiful than he ever imagined she could be. She was wearing a simple white dress which flowed to the floor and trailed slightly behind her. She wore a chiffon wrap that was draped gently around her shoulders. Her hair fell loosely around her shoulders and had little white flowers in it just like Mia’s. She was breathtaking.

She smiled when she saw him standing nervously at the top of the aisle and she walked slowly down towards him as her friends and family watched her and smiled brightly. Beside her stood her brother Jack, taking the place of her father, the one notable absence from their special day. She had asked her mother but she thought as man of the house, Jack should take Gerry’s place.

As she moved towards the front she saw the face of those who meant so much to her. She saw Grace and Jenna two of her best friends, also Jenna was now her brothers Jack’s fiancée. Her mother was sat at the front with Conner next to her and Andrew, in his little suit on his knee. Her mother was dabbing tears of both joy and sadness from her eyes. Joy to see Emma happy again but said that Gerry wasn’t there to share her joy.

And of course there was Jeff and Alycia and Matthew sitting happily between them waving excitedly over to Mia.

Emma smiled at Jeff and he returned her smile with a look of genuine happiness for her. Then finally she reached Zach, who was smiling like the cat that got the cream.

“You are breathtaking,” he said as Jack gave him her hand and shook his other hand.

“Take care of her,” he said with pride as he looked at his beautiful big sister. Then he kissed her softly on the cheek. “Be happy.”

They stood in front of their friends and family and promised they would love each other for the rest of their lives.

“Emma,” Zach began nervously as he held her hand tightly. “I promise to love you with all my heart for the rest of my life. I promise to be your friend, your partner and your hero. I will love you more tomorrow then I do today and promise to make you happy every day of your life. I can’t believe I am lucky enough as to marry my best friend. I promise that for the rest I my life, everything I do will be for you, Mia and Lily. You three have made me the happiest man in the world. I promise I will love you and our girls for the rest of my life and anyone else who might join our little family.”

“Zach,” a tearful Emma began. “You are my hero. You stole my heart. You are my best friend and I can’t wait to spend my life with you. We three have been lost but you have found us and given us another chance for a happy life. I am proud to call you my friend, my husband and my love. I will spend every day loving you for the rest of my life. Thank you for loving me.”

When it was over there were claps and cheers as they kissed each other as husband and wife for the first time. Emma was so happy she had to pinch herself in case she was really just dreaming.

Then they stood to have their photo taken again and again as people tried to capture every little memory of this beautiful day. And as people snapped their camera all Emma could do was smile because right at that moment she was the happiest person in the world.

After dinner they took to the floor for the first dance. Bryan Adam’s voice rang out through the speakers and he sang their song, Heaven. And that’s exactly where they felt they were in heaven. Emma thought of the first time she danced with Zach in his little apartment. It seemed so long ago now. It had been a long and bumpy road but finally they had made it.

“Are you happy Mrs. Adams?” Zach asked as he looked lovingly into Emma’s eyes as he whirled her around the floor.

“I am Mr. Adams,” she replied. “Thank you for making me the happiest woman in the world.”

“You are the most beautiful woman in the world,” Zach said and kissed her softly on the lips. “Thank you for marrying me.”

“Did you mean what you said?” Emma asked him with a funny smile on her face.

“What I said about what?” he asked unsure what exactly she was talking about. But she had his interest peaked.

“What you said about loving anyone else who might join our family?” Emma asked with a smile.

“Of course,” Zach replied. “I want to make lots of babies with you.”

“Well that’s a good thing” Emma said with a giggle. “Because you see, I have a little secret.”

Zach stared at her for a moment as it dawn on him what she was getting at.

“Are you serious?” Zach asked excitedly as he placed his hand on her stomach.

“Maybe this time we’ll have a boy,” Emma beamed.

“I don’t mind, I love my girls,” Zach replied with a smile. “One more girl will be just as good.”

  “Are you sure?” she asked.

“Of course,” he replied excitedly. “I told you before. You girls have stolen my heart.”
