Operation You've Got To Be Kidding Me Page 25

by Cheyenne Lynnae

Dear Grandma,

  I found your letter.

I wish you were here so I could ask you all my questions about what you can’t tell me and that I will find out.

I found Dad. The CIA thinks they hypnotized me out of it. Ha.

Celcius used this mind control machine thing to control me. I popped out of it when I found you note. Thank goodness that you wrote it.

That’s how you died isn’t it? It wasn’t necessarily because of the storm it was him wasn’t it? Don’t worry Grandma I will get the kids out of here. I already have a plan.

  Thanks to you guys,

PS. I really, really miss you.

  -Renady

I walked down the hall trying to copy my powerful strut that I had been using before when I was still under Zenwaler’s control. (and I must say that I am a complete natural at it.) When I reached Celcius’ office I tapped on the door three quick times. “Enter” He said. I walked in and shut the door behind me.

  “Renady!” Celcius exclaimed.

  “Master.” I replied.

“To what do I owe this pleasure?” He asked.

“Well I have been considering lately this idea I have had for a while. That maybe we should do an outdoor exercise with the students with me leading it. That way they can get used to me leading them and they will learn how to familiarize themselves with their surroundings.” I proposed.

“Yes I agree I think that would be a great idea.” He replied.

“I thought I could look around tonight to mark it out. After all a leader should know where she is leading”

“Very well, don’t go too far though.” He warned.

  “Of course not.” I replied.

“You are dismissed to go scope it out.”

“Thank you master.” I said. I turned and left the room. I forced my steps to be the same even, powerful, strides but it was getting more and more difficult as I tried to hold in the excitement. I walked to the big grand doors and pushed them open. A blast of beautiful tropical air filled my nose. The air was filled with the scent of the ocean, tickling my nose almost as refreshing as it would be to dip my feet in the water. I was forming a plan I had snatched some chalk out of the art room as I passed by it. I slipped my shoes off and let my toes touch the warm sand. It was such a relief to have the feeling that I would soon be free. I decided that the next time I taught a class I would tell the “Students” and Celcius that the CIA had full rein over all of the security cameras in the world that they could tap in to all of them. Then Celcius would surly shut them down, and then when we did the outdoor thing I had suggested, we would escape through the tunnels. At the dock there were plenty of power boats and jet skies, we would go through the tunnels and exit out the tree near there. the tunnels and all of the students knowing how to hot-wire them would grab a ride and we would go I would signal to the CIA and we would be off leaving this awful “school” behind us. I walked to the bush and managed to only pass a couple of guards who nodded a hello to me. Once I got to the bush I slipped my shoes back on and dropped through. I coughed and sputtered as sand kicked up around me. My purse was around my shoulder and I pulled it off. It was completely black and I couldn’t even see my hand as I rummaged around for my compact mirror. Finally I found it and pushed the top mirror. It flipped on, shining a beam of light on my surroundings. I got out the chalk and the map. I marked the wall then started to follow the map through the musty tunnel. I could hear dripping, from what I didn’t know. Every once and I while I would stop and mark the wall and then move on. The tunnels were really old I could tell there were cracks and holes that almost made me think that it would crumble down any minute. I walked faster at that thought, my footsteps echoing off the hollow walls. When I reached the part where it curved and branched off, I followed the map through the tunnel that lead to Celcius’ office. I followed the curve going deeper and deeper underground with every echoing step.

After a while I got to a set of stairs that lead up a little higher. I sighed, relieved at the change of level. After a while, I reached a place where the ceiling was low and there was a trap door above my head that I assumed was would lead into Celcius’ office. I pushed it open a crack so that I could see a little bit of the room, I could hear voices.

“I am glad we got rid of Renady’s pesky Grandparents. The CIA should have spoiled all of our plans. Renady is really coming along. She will be a great leader and a great daughter too. Although it might just be better to kill her after she does her job. Once a Park always a Park.” He said the name as if it were a bad word. In his eyes it probably was.

I fumbled to get the mp3 player Mr. Steel had given me. I spun the volume button four times signaling that I was in trouble.

“Master why not kill her now?” Ms. Bruce whined

“Why not? Why not! She needs to lead them, to train them to do the dirty work for me. The world will see a bunch of teens acting out in a deadly manner, I kill them pretend I had locked them up instead. I am the hero, and I reveal all the ‘solutions’ I have created to their diseases, and exchange them for power.” he explained. I had to clamp a hand over my mouth to keep from gasping. I slowly backed away, shutting the trap door. I ran back to the mansion I had to do this quick. I knew that tone, it meant that the students were ready he was just humoring me with this exercise. I knocked for the second time tonight on Celcius’ door. “Enter” he said. I entered. “Renady back so soon?” He asked. I was just about to answer when gruff hands came up behind me covering my mouth, catching me by surprise. I struggled but it was too late.

“Dear Grandma, I found your letter” Celcius sneered reading from a piece of paper he held in his hands. My eyes widened. The letter I had written! How stupid of me! Why didn’t I think he wouldn’t find it? I had kept it with me, but he must have slipped it out of my picked.

“Celcius used this mind control machine thing to control me. I popped out of it when I found you note. Thank goodness that you wrote it.” He continued. I struggled more against the arms holding me captive.

“Don’t worry Grandma I will get the kids out of here. I already have a plan. Thanks to you guys.” Celcius continued to read. “Where are they?” Celcius said turning to me furry in his eyes. “Did I not kill them. Did I not watch their plane burst into flames as my helicopters shot them? Did I not stay to make sure neither survived?” he yelled. He must have read the truth in my eyes. “I threw a banquet that night. I celebrated that the earth, my empire, was free of that scum. Then I started tracking down good ole’ dad,” Celcius continued. Only this evening did I find him at last, when I sent one of the maids down to clean your room. Know what she found? She found this. Another one of your stupid letters.” He said holing up another one.

“Dear Grandma, I found dad. He is in Tidewater by the farm” He read aloud. “So, after I found this key information I did some research, and found where he lives.” Celcius said. I watched as Celcius pressed a button on a small remote and a screen pulled down. He pressed another button , and a video appeared on the screen. It seemed to be taken in night vision. I gasped when I realized what the video was of. Dad lived with Fern and Earl?

“I had a friend near that area who was going to be traveling through on his way here with some missiles I needed. I asked him if he could run a little errand for me.” I struggled realizing what he meant. I kicked my leg back biting the hand of whoever was the unlucky person to have his hand on my mouth. My foot made contact and the man pulled away. I swung around giving the other man a good blow.

“Oh there he is now” I heard Celcius murmur. I looked up. A small missile fell out of the sky just above. Fern’s house, my dads house.

“No!” I watched the screen as the house blow up the explosion lighting up the night sky. I screamed. “No, stop!” Suddenly a piercing pain came to the back of my head, and everything went black.
