“Would you like to come up with me?” Cole asked, and confidently stepped off the stool, beginning to button up his jacket. I tried very hard to resist him. To resist that urge, but from the moment I saw him, I knew I wanted him too. Was it so wrong to just act on my urges? Do something I had never done before? But then, I had never met anyone like Cole before either.
“Nina?” he said my name in that velvety smooth voice of his, and then held out a hand to me, palm upwards, waiting for my decision.
I said nothing, only placed my hand on his and stepped off the stool. Whatever guilt I was going to feel would have to wait till the next morning.
Chapter 4
Nina
I didn’t see him ask for a hotel room or a key, and I figured that he had already checked himself into a room earlier. We took the elevator up in silence, and I avoided looking at him, even though I could tell that Cole was looking at me.
He led me down the beautiful carpeted hallway and slid a keycard into the slot to open up a door. When I stepped in, I was overwhelmed by the gorgeousness of the room. It was an elaborate hotel suite, with its own living room area, fitted with the latest technology and decorated in modern minimalist tastes.
Cole said nothing, but walked in straight towards the bedroom. I followed him gingerly, drinking in the luxury of my surroundings. The bedroom was huge, with an oval king sized bed with white satin sheets. One wall of the room was made of glass which I figured could be covered with shutters, but Cole didn’t make a move to pull them down.
I walked over to the wall, and when I looked down, I noticed the wedding party still going on in full swing. People were on the dance floor, drinking and dancing and talking loudly. I couldn’t really hear anything but a soft muffle of the music and the voices.
I gasped when I felt Cole’s mouth on my shoulder from behind. He had caught me by surprise, with no warning. My body tensed up when I felt my back pressing against his chest.
“You have beautiful hair,” I heard him say and then felt his fingers undo my messy bun. My blond curls came tumbling down around my shoulders, and then his thick large fingers pushed them aside. He had made a bare spot on my shoulder to kiss me on again.
I closed my eyes, enjoying his closeness, the feel of his lips on my skin. I wanted him to kiss my lips. I was yearning for that one shred of familiarity and comfort, but Cole didn’t seem to be interested in kissing my mouth.
His hands found my shoulders and I gasped as I felt him pulling the straps of my dress down, over my arms and further down…till the bodice of my dress had come off. Then he whipped me around to face him. He was studying my black bra. Without a word, he reached out and cupped my left breast, his thumb was searching for the hidden nipple underneath.
“This will have to go,” he said in a deep guttural growl and his fingers sought out the hooks of my bra. He was smooth with taking my bra off. It came sliding down and settled at my waist. My breasts bounced slightly when they were revealed to him.
Cole’s gray eyes had narrowed and his lips glistened in the dim lamp-shaded light of the room as he stared at me. I pressed my back against the coldness of the glass wall, aware that anyone downstairs could simply look up to see us. I wasn’t even sure how high up in the building we were.
“Beautiful,” I thought I heard him murmur, before he lowered his head and brought his lips closer to my breasts. He looked up at me briefly, just before he parted his mouth and caught my left nipple.
When I felt the wet tug of his mouth on my sensitive stiffened nipple, I gasped again. Cole didn’t stop. He suckled on my nipple wildly, while his other hand found my right nipple and he played with it. I could feel the knots in my belly tightening, as I arched my back, pushing my hips out towards him. Cole pressed himself forward, while his mouth remained on my nipple, playing juicily with it.
I could feel his throbbing cock pressing against my thigh now. I was half dressed, and yet, he had all his clothes on. I threw my head back and closed my eyes, weaving my fingers through his wavy dark hair. He pulled away from me abruptly.
My heart leapt out of my chest when he stepped away from me. It was too soon, why was he stopping? He must have seen the panic in my eyes, because a crooked grin formed on the side of Cole’s face.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get more,” he said and started sliding off his jacket. Then his shirt came off and his bare torso was finally revealed to me. Cole Emery was gorgeous to look at. Just as I had predicted. Six pack washboard abs, glistening smooth bronze skin, with a faint trail of dark hair leading down from his navel and disappearing into his pants.
He caught me watching, looking at the bulge still hidden by his pants. My breasts were heaving and falling and Cole unbuckled his pants. They slid down to his ankles and he stepped out of them. He was now in nothing but a pair of black briefs.
“Turn around for me,” he growled, his eyes darkened and narrow again. I thought I heard rage in his voice when he said that, but I was certain that I was mistaken. I did what I was told though.
I turned around to face the glass and placed my open palms on the cold surface for support. I could feel the wetness dripping down the inside of my thighs. There was a rising tremor between my legs that I couldn’t control any more. Cole had already made me very wet and very greedy for his body.
Downstairs, the wedding party continued, and I imagined the rest of the band somewhere there. Or they might have even left already, thinking that I had gone without letting them know. I gasped when I felt Cole’s hands on my waist again. He hadn’t undressed me fully. My bra and dress were still at my waist but I felt his fingers lift up the fabric from my knees.
He pulled my dress up till I could feel the cool air on my butt. He pulled down my panties and then he pushed me down, to bend forward, so that my butt was stuck out towards him.
“Good girl,” he mumbled and without warning, I felt Cole’s forefinger slide into me. I moaned loudly as I felt the width and length of his finger inside me, pushing the flesh apart. He reached in deep, stroking me there repeatedly, where he knew I would lose all control. I moaned some more, keeping my eyes pressed close because the sensation was explosive. He slid his finger in and out of me repeatedly, till he was finally satisfied that I was ready.
I heard the crackling sound of a condom wrapper being torn, a few seconds longer…I couldn’t bear it. I wanted him inside me. Cole grabbed me by my waist, holding me in position. I had my hands on the glass wall already and I pushed against it.
The velvety tip of his cock, brushed against my wetness from behind. I moaned and bit down on my lip. The anticipation was killing me. His grip on my waist grew tighter and then I felt the length of his cock slide in, gently and carefully at first. We both moaned together. His was a loud guttural groan and mine was a shriller more savage scream. Cole was big, and he knew it. He took his time with filling me up, entering me only an inch at a time.
I moaned and pushed myself against the glass, enjoying the way my body felt tight, how big and fulfilling he felt inside me.
“Tell me if I’m hurting you,” he said gruffly in my ear, bringing his mouth close to my face. I nodded my head quickly, willing him to not stop. To never pull out. He was probably the biggest I ever had, and I had never felt like this. There was a new kind of thrill in feeling small and powerless in his hands. He kept pushing himself in, holding my waist, and I immersed myself in the sensation.
When he had filled me up completely, he started pulling out. I moaned again, from the friction of his cock rubbing against my wet throbbing flesh. Then, he thrust himself in with force. My body jerked and he groaned.
“You feel so good, Nina,” I heard him say and he thrust into me again. Pulling himself out quickly, before pushing in again. His cock was stroking me at the spot of no return. Neither of my previous two boyfriends had been able to do it, what Cole was doing with his cock. He was going to make me come, with no help from me.
I moaned and bit down on my lip. He was strong and pow
erful behind me, thrusting into me with quick moves. In and out, sliding in and pulling out in a fast rhythmic motion that was quickly pushing me over the edge with every passing second.
Then I felt his hands grip my shoulders. He was using his full force to pull me towards him by my shoulders, pumping into me at the same time. I was going to have an orgasm. I could feel it rising, and I screamed when I felt my body give up. I exploded, calling out his name in desperation. My mind went blank for several seconds, and then I felt his body shake as well. He was coming too, with unimaginable force. I heard his groans as my toes curled. I couldn’t remember ever orgasming at the same time, together.
Cole began to pull out, slowly, just moments after his orgasm ended. I was still out of breath, my head was still reeling from the force of the orgasm I just had. And I didn’t even realize that he had moved away from me, and was slipping his condom off…
I turned around, my eyes dazed and my breasts heaving and falling. Cole had started to pull his briefs up, and then his pants. I was exhausted on the other hand, and with my back against the glass, I slid down to the carpeted floor. It wasn’t until he had started buttoning up his shirt, that some sense came flooding back into my brain.
This was a one night stand. I hadn’t done this before and I wasn’t aware of the rules. My cheeks flushed and I felt embarrassed, because I wondered if I had already overstayed my welcome.
“Just give me a minute and I’ll be out of your hair,” I said and stood up straight on shaky feet. Cole had already slipped on his jacket and now he ran a hand through his thick wavy hair, looking more handsome now than he had looked a few hours before. Just the sight of him made me weak in my knees again. I didn’t think it was possible to want someone so soon after an orgasm again.
“All this has just made me more thirsty,” Cole said distractedly, like he wasn’t even speaking to anyone in the room.
I pulled up my bra and my dress, and hurriedly tried to re-arrange myself. I was beginning to feel guilty already. This had been a mistake. I had never put on clothes so soon after sex before, and it just felt wrong.
“Want to go get some more drinks? I know a place. I can drive us there,” he said and looked up at me abruptly with his brows crossed. Cole didn’t look happy and neither did he look angry. I couldn’t tell what he was thinking.
I should have left. I shouldn’t have spent any more time with him. I should have acted like a grown up and taken the one night stand in my stride. But instead, I gulped and stared at his fully dressed delicious body and nodded.
“Sure,” I said.
The only way to numb the rush of guilt of a one night stand, was to drink myself silly. Even if it was with the guy I had just slept with.
Chapter 5
Nina
I forced myself to blink my eyes open, and the soft stream of light I was confronted with nearly blinded me. I had barely even moved my head, and I felt a throbbing ache at the back of my head. I was disoriented and suddenly filled with a rush of panic when I tried to wriggle myself and found that I had someone’s arm wound over me, over my breasts.
Feeling claustrophobic and panicked, I pushed against the body and when my eyes adjusted to the light, I saw that it was Cole Emery. Memories of the previous night came hurling back, as I tried to escape his steel grip. He hadn’t moved, not even when I pushed against him.
We were still in the hotel room and I looked about me, finally managing to sit up in the bed. I looked down and saw that I was fully clothed, as was he. My brows crossed instinctively. How had we ended up here again? Hadn’t we left the hotel room to go get drinks?
Cole moved lazily, with his eyes still pressed shut. I was embarrassed again. I’d spent the night with him, and Cole hadn’t appeared to be the kind of man who encouraged women to sleep over. I had definitely over stepped my boundaries. When I tried to swing my legs over the edge of the bed, my head felt like it was going to burst. I couldn’t remember the last time I had felt this hungover.
Cole moved his arm and finally opened his eyes. Bloodshot gray eyes, messy dark hair, a stubble that had grown darker overnight. He was handsome and dripping with raw sexuality, and my cheeks flushed with the memory of how we had sex against the glass wall the previous night.
“Hey,” he mumbled and straightened himself up. I stood up from the bed and started smoothening my crumpled dress.
“Morning. Rough night,” I said, still feeling embarrassed. He fluffed up a pillow and sat against it, reaching for the filled glass of water on the bedside table. We had slept with our bodies wound together and I wondered how much of it he remembered.
“You can say that again,” he said after he had finished drinking. I ran my fingers through my fluffed up curls and knew that I looked a mess. I didn’t even want to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror because I was afraid of what I might find there.
Cole’s shirt was looking crumpled too, and I noticed that his belt and jacket were lying discarded on the carpet, next to my shoes. I walked over to them and started putting them on.
“Hey, hold up,” I heard him say and looked up at him with a confused expression on my face. Cole only stared at me, with his eyes narrowed and his mouth pressed firmly together. Something told me that he was about to apologize and I didn’t need him to. I had made every decision with a clear mind. I didn’t want him to say sorry and explain how we could never see each other again. I wanted him to spare me the apology.
I straightened myself up and gulped, then shook my head.
“You don’t have to explain. I’ll see myself out,” I said, and another image of Cole driving into me from behind flashed through my head. My fingers tingled with the memory of the sensation of my orgasm.
“Explain what? We need to discuss this before you leave,” Cole said, sitting up straight with his dark brows crossed. I was confused again. He hadn’t struck me as the kind of guy who had an inclination towards discussing feelings!
“Discuss what?” I asked and crossed my arms over my breasts.
“Last night,” he said and I gawked at him some more. He wasn’t offering any explanations either.
“We had sex. It was a one night thing. I get it. I didn’t expect anything more,” I snapped, feeling the color rising in my cheeks again.
“You don’t remember?” Cole said, clenching his square jaws at me.
“Remember what exactly? Of course I remember. I just said that I get it. We had sex and I have to leave you alone now,” I said, feeling that throbbing aching sensation at the back of my head return.
“Not the sex. I mean, what happened when we went out again,” he said and now, he threw off the covers from his waist and placed his long feet on the carpet.
“What happened? What are you talking about?” I asked, taking a few steps away from him. I hadn’t given my lack of memory much thought till then. I figured that we had gone out for a few more drinks, come back to the hotel and fallen asleep.
Cole took in a deep breath, looked down towards his lap and then looked up at me again. His eyes told me that he was suffering as heavy a hangover as I was. Was he just talking gibberish?
Then he moved his arm, and held up his hand in front of his face. I saw it clearly now. The cheap thin brass band around his ring finger. My brows crossed as I tried to assimilate the information. My hand raised itself instinctively and I stared down. An identical ring was on my finger too, and my mouth fell open.
“What?” I shrieked and I fisted my hand.
“And that,” Cole said, and when I looked up at him again, I saw that he was grinning. He had tipped his head to the side and I looked in that direction, at the full length mirror at the other end of the room.
A marriage certificate was stuck to the mirror, supported by a fridge magnet. A certificate that pronounced Cole Emery and Nina Philips as man and wife. Of all the years of living in Vegas, I had to pick this night to have a shotgun wedding with a stranger!
Chapter 6
Nina
“
This is insane. What are we going to do?” I said, staring at the marriage certificate. Cole had already stood up and started to put on his belt. He hadn’t been responding to any of my panicked questions.
“Seriously! This is insane!” I was repeating myself. When I turned to look at him again, his hair was brushed back and in place. Even though his shirt was crumpled, Cole looked impeccably dressed. There was no way of telling that he had just slept in those clothes.
“I know. Crazy, right?” he said and thrust his hands into the pockets of his pants.
“How can you be so calm about this?” I screamed. I still couldn’t recall a single moment of the previous night after we left the hotel. How had I blacked out like that? How could I not remember getting married?
“Because the only way is to move forward. Nothing will come of panicking,” he said with that same grin lingering on his face. A grin I wanted to smack right off. It may not have meant anything to him, but marriage meant a great deal to me. I had everything planned…my dream wedding to my dream man. And even though Cole looked like my dream man, in fact more handsome than any dream man I could have imagined, this was certainly not a marriage.
“Okay, so what are we going to do about it?” I asked him, crossing my arms over my breasts.
Cole extracted his hand, then holding his finger up, he slipped the cheap ring out of it and slid it back into his pocket.
“For starters, I’ll remove the ring to make you feel more comfortable. So that you don’t feel like I’ve trapped you in this thing,” he said casually and I rolled my eyes. As much as I didn’t want to admit it, I had felt a dull pang in the pit of my stomach when I saw him taking the ring off. Maybe I didn’t want him to be so quick in dismissing it. I could dismiss it all I like, but what gave him the right to do it?
I thrust my chin up in the air, and looked down my nose at him.
