  "'Vengeance is mine, says the Lord,'" said the man standing over Liora.

  Pechersky threw his axe to the ground in disgust. "Yeah. But they didn't leave us so much as one Nazi dog to kill!"

  The others looked at him, and slowly Yehuda Lerner began to laugh. It proved infectious, and in seconds they had all burst out laughing, slapping one another on the back exchanging hugs, Pechersky the loudest and most vigorous of all.

  "All right, you camp rats, let's get our people together. We've got an escape to finish."
